WOW!!! Two Fish is an upscale and masterful culinary experience that should be on every local foodie's / seafood aficionado's bucket list. We've been talking about Two Fish now for a little over a year and just never put forth the effort to get reservations. It's small inside with only 18 seats and reservations are tough to come by. Luckily for us we stumbled across reservations mid-month as they had a cancellation and were blown away. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation and were greeted by Felice, our server for the evening, who seated us immediately. She was incredibly kind and personable. She had a great sense of humor and a charming personality. She was passionate about her job, her customer's experience, and explaining each and every course she brought to the table. If you didn't already know, Two Fish went from their a la carte menu to a constantly changing tasting menu for $100/person. They can accommodate parties from 2-6 people and are BYOB (hence the name). We were started with a slice of bread served with house-made chimichurri. Our dinner was 6 courses with the option to add on a 7th course for an extra charge (which we did). Each course was just as good as the last and we're still debating which course was our favorite. Course #1: Hamachi Crudo. Super fresh yellowtail topped with chiles, peanuts, and scallions in a ponzu sauce. I love sushi and sashimi and this was right up there with the best I've ever had. Course #2: Orecchiette topped with lump crab. Served with a creamy pesto-like pistou and topped with buttered breadcrumbs which added great texture. Course #3: Spanish Octopus. Cooked perfectly with a beautiful crisp crust and a firm yet tender chew. It was served with potato salad and pickled cabbage. Course #4: Louisiana Redfish served over Sofrito rice and salsa verde. The fish was firm, flakey, and had a great crust. Course #5: King Salmon served over red beet quinoa and topped with cucumber dill salad. I don't even really enjoy salmon but overall flavor of this dish put this one high up on my list for the night. Course #6: Filet served with mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Two Fish steak sauce. The most tender and flavorful piece of filet I've ever had. I enjoy filet, but I'm a ribeye guy. This dish was mind-blowing. We are so happy we decided to add on this optional course. Course #7: Banana Cake served with dark chocolate cremeux and a salted caramel sauce. I'm not much of a dessert person but my fiancé LOVED it (as we did everything we were served). Two Fish exceeded our expectations and then some. Experiences like these are hard to come by and we're so lucky we have a restaurant like this so close. The service was welcoming and elevated the experience that much more. The presentation of each plate was stunning. The unique ingredients and flawless marriage of flavors made every single bite heavenly. We already called to hopefully get our next reservations and are more excited now for our next visit knowing how great of an experience this ended up being. read more

Scored a last minute Thursday 4:45p (opening time) reservation for 4 on my birthday at this hard-to-get-in intimate place ... which only seats 18 spread at 15 minute intervals (except 6-top upstairs only at 6pm). Everyone had to get the $100pp for their 6-course tasting menu (mainly seafood) with option for extra 7th (typically meat) course for $19pp (only in increments of 2). Everything was great and they even accommodated a nut allergy for 1 person in our party. However, it's definitely quality over quantity here with an emphasis on only a small "tasting" for each course consisting of just a few bites. We got every course we could even the 7th and dessert with coffee ... but it left all of us considering a stop for something more filling during our 45 minute drive home. read more

Our party of four tried just about every dish on the menu (which changes based on what's in season) and every dish was delicious and memorable - we could not pick a favorite. I can't help but wax poetic about the perfect chewy texture of the pasta starter, which contrasted perfectly with the silky sauce and delicate lump crab, how the zing of the mustard sauce made the sweetness of the crab shine. About how revelatory it was to have seared bluefin tuna with a Sichuanese málà sauce and sweet potatoes - a dish unlike anything I've ever eaten. We ended the meal with a great slice of cake - perfect texture and flavor. What fantastic food - what inspired cooking. The restaurant is cozy, situated in a tiny cabin in a quiet suburban shopping center, and the service was wonderfully friendly. My wife and I have been trying to get a reservation at this restaurant since they've opened. It's been months, but felt like years. Expectations were high. Tonight was our night, and wow, they did not disappoint. Two Fish is amazing! Location and atmosphere were A+. Felt like we were eating at their house and we had a personal chef. We could see the kitchen from where we were sitting, which felt like the dining room of a friends house. The hosts was personable, professional, funny and welcoming. I never met her before, but it felt like we were talking with a relative. She was phenomenal. The food was maybe the best seafood I've ever eaten. My wife and I were undecided about what we wanted to eat as everything on the menu sounded so good. We decided to order every starter on the menu, and also 2 main dishes. I've been wanting to visit for more than 2 years. Procrastination and Covid got in the way, and when things began opening back up 2Fish had to stay closed a bit longer. This allowed me to try their other restaurants first, The Little Hen. That actually was fortuitous since the hen had to change from fine dining to a market/ sandwich shop concept( more on that in a separate review) This is a very focused menu, 10 choices or less but all sounding delicious. I selected octopus as an app and the tuna as my main, my co-diner went with the scallops app and barramundi main. French bread with a chimichuri sauce was supplied while we waited. The octopus was perfectly cooked and all elements of the dish went with each other. The Rhode Island scallops were pristine and also close to being an entree size portion. I didn't get much of a taste of the barramundi but can say that the fish was seared to perfection and tasted great. Co-diner heartily agreed. My tuna( something I rarely order out) was amazing. The moniker " sushi grade" is overused and misleading. But in this instance spot on. The fish was coated with a mole spice and seared masterfully, the inside was still raw and melted in my mouth. The components on the dish added to the main ingredient, buttery rice, plump and tasty black beans, spicy salsa verde and a sweet raisin sauce to balance everything. Not wanting the meal to end we both ordered dessert, a fig panna cotta for her, and the chocolate tarte for myself. The tarte had roasted banana on top and puddles of delicious caramel. I was quite satisfied and had no need to cross the street for Gelato( though I was still tempted) This is a small and intimate business run by a husband and wife team. This is on my top five restaurants in NJ and Philadelphia! Love it here. First, the owners are amazing. The location is perfect. After you eat you can walk along the one of the lakes right behind the restaurant. Inside it's cozy like a log cabin but has modern touches. For our starters we had Maine mussels with a curry coconut sauce ( I needed bread to dip in the sauce, so delicious) and the Scottish salmon mi-cuit. Both were amazing. For our entrees we had the Skate wing which sits on lump crab and fresh peas! Seriously one of the best dishes I've tasted. Then we also had Louisiana red fish that's sits on white bean ragout and crawfish tails! The crispy top and the flaky inside mixed with the crawfish is seriously perfect. Wholely mackerel! Was not sure what to expect coming to a place with a limited seafood menu. So, I decided to go with something out of my wheelhouse. I had sturgeon! But before I tell you about that...we started off with the rispy, yet delicate octopus. Probably the best I have ever had. Crispy outside, soft inside, and the smokey potatoes under it were great. We also had clams with chorizo. Then the sturgeon. A meaty fish with a great flavor. And the chefs accompaniments were fantastic. The tuna whivh we also had was sushi grade and delish. Dessert was unreal. Chocolate tart with seasalt caremel and pineapple chunks. The pineapple cut the richness of the dark chocolate perfectly. And the peanut butter boudin was also unreal. Chef Mike is a food artist and fantastic chef! His creation of dishes and flavor combinations are de-licious! Their menu changes every couple months focusing on seasonal ingredients. Seafood is the primary focus, but I have had duck and beef dishes that were yummy, too. Sunday Nights are my favorite - Chef's Tasting Menu. Currently he offers 5-courses @ $28.00. No modifications are allowed and the menu is discovered as the dish is served to you. I love surprises, and as often as I go on a Sunday (multiple times per month), I cannot think of one time where I had the same dish before. Very innovative! BYOB - Wine glasses are great so no need to bring your own. Parking in Haddonfield is free after 6pm weekdays and all day on weekends. You will not be disappointed with any dishes at Two Fish. Ok this place is a MUST TRY. Went tonight with another couple for all of our first time. The place is on the smaller side, but is warm and has an understated elegance in the heart of Haddonfield. Our server Dylan was ON POINT! He was aware from our reservation of our allergies and he was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and items that could be altered. He was also very professional and helped us decide what to order. Our appetizers included AMAZING octopus, delicious scallops with a nice crust on top and tender centers. Our main courses included flavorful Baramundi, swordfish with an eggplant relish over beans and broccoli rabe, halibut, and a delicious Wagyu steak. Our desserts also did not disappoint! Five of us celebrated my dad's birthday here. We loved the intimate atmosphere and the low level instrumental music. You can't beat this ambiance! Bread was warm and the chimichirra sauce amazing. For appetizers... Grilled octopus. It was way too spicy. I couldn't finish it. But others loved it. Wish I had been warned. The calamari dish was a generous portion and thin ringlets with pasta and a sauce that was heavily olive flavored. The lobster bisque was a special that night and good. The kale salad was absolutely delicious and I would get that again. The kale leaves were big, with square pieces of squash, lots of pepitas, and the most creamy Chèvre cheese. My main was the Barramundi and it was delicious. The fish was fresh and it was perfectly prepared. The gnocchi in it were ok. Gigante beans were on one of the main dishes and I asked if I could get a side dish of them. They happily obliged. Coffee choices were extensive but espresso was served in a regular mug. We decided to split one of each of the desserts. They were good. Service was great in the beginning but as the place filled up, our server's time was understandably divided and less attentive. read more

Two Fish runs a 5 course dinner special on Sundays for $32. That's amazing considering that's an average of ~$6/course. It's also BYOB so you save money on alcohol too! Starting the 5 course dinner was a fish ceviche that was fresh and a great palate cleanser. This was followed by a sauteed oysters and pepper dish with saffron aioli that tasted like a rice-less paella. At this point I'm thinking, the menu tonight is Spanish themed, but then we get a fried chickpea falafel with a coconut curry sauce - at this point I'm not sure what to expect next. Then comes the fourth course a salmon dish which was not what I had expected but was nicely cooked and tasty. Dessert was an apple cake with ice cream on top, also unexpectedly good. One of my favorite activities when traveling back to my native Midatlantic is a return to the maritime tradition of knowing how to cook fish. To be clear, there *is* fish to be found in the Midwest, but it isn't something you can get anywhere, and it isn't quite as readily available-- least of all at fancy restaurants that specialize in it. Two Fish is, like many great restaurants, part of a progression of enterprises and relationships-- Mike Stollenwerk and Felice Leibowitz produced this spot from a former pizzeria, after Stollenwerk left a former venture, Little Fish, in Philadelphia. Appetizers: The hamachi crudo is basically raw yellowtail-- think crudo from the Italian ("raw") and the hamachi emphasizing a cultural hybridity of sorts with the Japanese tradition of sashimi. Yellowtail is a member of the carangidae family-- not to be confused with yellowfin tuna- and includes a number of mackerel, which are also not to be confused with members of the scombridae family (you'd think scientists could figure out how to make this a little bit less confusing, given how delicious these things are). A pineapple salsa layers sweet acidity in with the smooth texture of the fish, and the urfa biber, a smoky, dried pepper, adds additional depth. Mussels in panang curry sauce were . An arugula salad offered a pleasantly spicy vinaigrette and managed to achieve that ever-elusive goal of salads-- to be both interesting and original without being too heavy or having a bunch of random and unnecessary ingredients. Our entrées included a seared tuna and a Spanish mackerel, both of which offered a Mediterranean vibe but at totally different ends of the flavor spectrum. The tuna rocked a melange of savory flavors plus a complementary, sweet agrodolce true to the Asiatic roots of the fish. The tuna was great, but the Spanish mackerel was next level. The dish comprised two fillets seared to a nice crispy texture and stacked, topped with a smoky eggplant relish. Broccoli rabe, or rapini, is another one of those somewhat underused brassicas, because it's hard to find (in my experience), but can be pretty well-executed as something halfway between kale and broccoli. Dessert included house-made ice cream including a mildly spicy tamarind-chili, a bananas foster, and a pistachio mascarpone, as well as what they call a mille feuille but is really more of a cake made of essentially layered crepes than the traditional French puff pastry-- reveling in subtle texture in this case rather than flavor. Excellent preparation and consistent, thoughtful flavor profiles-- done well without being overwhelming or hitting you over the head. We went to Two FIsh Friday May 14th, so happy to be back for indoor dining. One of our favorite restaurants, it was as great as we remembered. We could have eaten everything on the menu, but we had as appetizers the scallop crudo and the house made cavatelli. The chef's great seasoning made them both stand out. The combination of the subtle szechuan oil, pickled corn and roasted almond worked great. And the lobster bolognese was perfect. The lobster sweet and tender and done just right. We both had the tuna and the sides with them were done perfectly and complemented the super fresh seared tuna. The dessert was fabulous. We are so glad to see Two Fish open again.
