I also enjoyed the sides we had - cucumber tomato salad that had the perfect amount of dressing and a great potato salad as well. The ladies at work did a take out order and my one coworker/friend LOVED hers. She is the "crab cake Queen." Repeat order the following week - I was in! I got one "original" jumbo lump crab cake & sautéed spinach. VERY GOOD! If you have noticed a difference in the quality or portions and the increase in price it is because Bobby Chez has been sold. The new owners are probably hoping you continue to patronize the stores but their input is not a welcome attribute a what we considered our selves as a loyal Bobby Chez take out family. The friendly and loyal staff is gone and so is the quality. It's a shame that the King is Crab Cakes has retired but our family has seen a difference in the new ownership and am not pleased. Thanksgiving dinner pick-up Review I placed my order for a Thanksgiving to go Turkey dinner about 8 days prior to Thanksgiving. - the food was delicious, will definitely order again next year! Many other customers I met the day of pickup had ordered multiple years (met a lady who has ordered the past 17 years!) - see pictures, we choose the Apple pie which I heard is a favorite over the Pumpkin option - we ordered an additional Mashed potato and Stuffing, was plenty of food for our guests - all the sides came in easy heat containers and the Turkey came in a bag to cook in the oven, very easy!! First time here. Had to try the mini crab cakes, but also ordered the fried scallops basket (fries and coleslaw). The mini crab cakes were good, but because they put so many other flavors (onions, peas, cream, etc) in there to bind it together, it was hard to taste the crab. Oh my God I told my husband look there's Bobby Chez seafood restaurant at first he did not know what I was talking about until we went inside and he seemed the seafood. My eyes again was all over the place my husband wanted to eat there but I had told him he had already made reservations at another restaurant which was in the area but it was just across the way he asked me Can we cancel that reservations and eat here. I told him well let's see what we can do let's look at this food and will be back the two young ladies at the front desk one young lady seemed like she was new and the other one knew a lot about the food and some of the ingredients that was in the food. So you tell the young ladies will be back so we decided to go to our restaurant did not eat there went to another restaurant ate there and wind up coming back to Bobby Chez to take home dinner for tomorrow. We wind up ordering chicken parmesan sauteed vegetables with bread crumbs and cheese buffalo shrimps and pasta with mozzarella cheese on top. I can tell you they have two ways that you can take it partially cook for all the way cook. We decided to get it all the way cooked so if we wanted something to eat later on we got home it was already done. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ate off the food for 2 days. We will definitely be back next time we'll sit and enjoy the food while it's hot and also take some other food home. And the young lady said they menu change sometimes. And she kept asking to do we want other items but we said no because we don't want to get everything and won't be able to come back to try something different. They had two locations in Philadelphia but I believe they're closed cuz we cannot find them so we just happen to pop up on the one in Cherry Hill New Jersey. And while we was walking around the little restaurant they was in the back preparing food the hot roasted chicken was on the rotisserie chicken look the good and juicy. And all of their restaurants are in Jersey somewhere but thank God I have a little menu that I can try to go to all of them. I've been hearing how great Bobby Chez crab cakes were, for years. Tonight I thought I'd try them out. Worst crab cake I ever had. It was tasteless not to mention small. If you want a good crab cake, go to the Diamond Diner down Rt.38 towards Mt. Holly. Two large cakes with 2 sides plus a drink and salad for about $6 less than just two cakes and two sides at Chez. Don't get near their locations often, but, I found myself in Collingswood the other day & stopped. Spent $60+ because I've always been a big fan & wanted to surprise the home front. We enjoyed the Crab cakes, stuffed shrimp & potato salad, but, overall we were disappointed. Our collective opinion is that their crab cakes have lost their luster. The best crab cakes on the planet, potato salad is fabulous. Seafood salad is delicious, salmon is wild caught .This isn't a restaurant . There are 2 or 3 tables if you want to eat something in the store, which is spotless. I went to the new Delran, NJ location this afternoon and ordered two jumbo lump crab cakes and a pound of seafood salad. I was told that the seafood salad was on special but I didn't get the full benefit as they ran out before they filled my container. Bobby Chez Route 70 Cherry Hill. I LOVE the crab cakes; mostly crab, big lumps of crab! For two the price is $19.90 so it isn't cheap but still worth it except for having to finish the cooking at home. I'd love to have Bobby Chez's cook the crab cakes for me but I'm too far from home to keep them hot. The fries are awesome and there were a ton of them at least a few years back. I ate there once. However, the place is so dark I won't do it again. Why wouldn't you want an inviting, lighted dining area for people who want their food cooked and eat in instead of going home and cooking it. In addition, the oven cooking temperature is 450°, too hot for summer weather cooking. Do you have an alternate recipe for heating the crab cakes? read more

I went to Bobby Chez after wanting to try them out for years. I walked into their Cherry Hill location, which is in an odd spot, and upon entering the restaurant (not really sure you can really call it that), was surprised to see all the awards and photos of Bobby Chez on the wall. I know that many places are proud of their awards/accomplishments, but this guy seems to be bathing in immense amounts of self-congratulatory glory. That alone ups that bar for his signature crab cakes. With high expectations I ordered one crab cake, crab macaroni and cheese, and onion rings. Since this is more of a take out place, you order at the counter and just take your food to go, or eat in at the select number of tables inside the store (as I did). The crab cakes are somewhat expensive, but they are "Bobby Chez" crab cakes, so they must be amazing right? Not the case. I was completely unimpressed by the crab cakes, considering the price paid. I was not wowed and thought there was way more breading/filler than actual crab. The crab cakes were also over cooked and lacked flavor. The macaroni and cheese was just ok. The onion rings were the highlight of my lunch, which is not saying much considering that I came here for the crab, not the onion. Blah. Huge disappointment for a place that is touted as being the best crab cake producer in the area. Would I return to Bobby Chez? I would have to say no. I would much rather go to Loupy's in Marlton (a few miles away), which also serves expensive crab cakes, but with more actual lump crab meat and less filler. read more

Incredible shrinking crab cakes. They are incredibly good. I visit here once or twice a year and usually come to Bobby Chez' for crab cakes. I just remember them like almost softball size.
