Braised tofu & fish claypot
Vicky L.

Came on a weekend before noon and was seated right away. Most dishes had great flavor and was generous portions. We took a bit of time looking at the menu and the staff was patient with us. They also came by a couple times to refill our cups with water and remove our plates when dishes were finished and offered clean plates. I liked the sauce they had on the table. Wasn't sure if it was hot sauce, since it wasn't spicy but maybe an some type of xo sauce? Overall great place and food. Would come again to try other dishes and maybe try their other locations. Ordered the following dishes: - Wonton Noodle Soup $9.25 - Beef Chow Fun $17 - Cripsy Chicken Wings $7.50 (5 pieces) - Fried Dough Rice Roll $5.75 - Seafood Pancake $9.95 - Braised Tofu & Fish Claypot $19 - Bowl of Rice $2 - Cha sui $8.50 (On the house if you write a Google Review)

Customer service is always good. The food taste better with the sauce but everything is always cooked to perfection.

I don't understand why this has 3 stars because it's a 5 star in my book I love traditional Chinese food with limited msg in the food. This restaurant is always busy no matter what time you'll come in. Super clean bathroom. The ambiance is quiet and peaceful to eat clean restaurant with fast service

Soy Sauce Chicken with Wonton Noodle soup

Had the soy sauce chicken wonton noodle soup. Found it so salty that I drank a lot of tea to neutralize the taste. Had the eel and cured duck clay pot rice which took 20 mins to make and it was decent. Service was alright, kinda slow. We came during the lunch hour so the place was packed. To accommodate more people, they opened the upstairs room for more seating. However it was dark and had a dungeon like feel with the dark wood all around. Overall it's an ok place for a decent Cantonese meal.

I'm writing this review because I was absolutely blown away by my takeout experience. I initially read another review that mentioned being charged a tip for takeout, so I was prepared for that possibility. To my surprise, when I picked up my order of six claypots and one noodle dish, not only was I not charged an automatic tip, but paying in cash actually got me about a 9% discount, bringing my total down to just $114! The value here is phenomenal. The amount of food was generous enough to feed 8 people with leftovers. On top of that, I was given a $24 refund for returning the claypots, bringing my final cost to just $90. For the quality and quantity of food, that is a steal. The food itself was delicious and perfectly prepared. This restaurant provides fantastic value and operates with great integrity. Highly recommended for a large, delicious, and budget-friendly meal! I'll definitely be back.

if you're ordering takeout, please pay attention to you bill. the employe added 18% tip onto the bill. my ordered total was $54.17 but they told me the total was $63.75. Took their word and paid the bill then came home saw 18% tip was added

I haven't been here in years! To my surprise, the menu has expanded a lot since then. I came in craving clay pot rice, so I ordered the preserved meat ($11) and the portion size is HUGE! It's decently filled with a big heaping of meat, and it was served piping hot. Cravings were satisfied and I left with a happy belly.

This is such a good neighborhood find! My go to is the cha sew (roasted pork) over rice but I've been venturing out to try other dishes. They never fail and the service is always great!

01.25.2024@7:50p Walk in got seat for a table of 2. Friendly service. After order, food was quick to come out. The congee was too watery and the frog leg. The Chinese Broccoli with garlic was good, only complaint would be that it was thinly shedded so it seems like a huge plate. The preservative meat rice casserole was cook perfectly. A+ on its own creation of it spicy sauce.

There are good points and there are bad points to this place. Good points - this is the only restaurant in the Brooklyn Bensonhurst Chinatown area that serves clay pot rice casseroles. They have the best flat duck I've ever tasted. The front service area is always quick when customers come in for their roasted meats selections. Plenty of dining space for customers inside. Takeout has always been remarkably quick and they allowed us to keep the clay pots for rice casserole takeouts. Now for the bad points where there could be improvements. During the two only times I've ate inside the restaurant, my food always took a long time to make it out of the kitchen, an average of 20 minutes. The second time wasn't better as we had waited 10 minutes for the server to bring us hot teas for the table. From my observation, they only hired two servers to take food orders, process payments, wait on 15 tables, and bring the food out. Definitely hire more staff to keep the restaurant operations going. Also our server misunderstood when we requested for hot tea for the table. She mistakenly brought us two hot HK style milk teas and we were charged extra for them. There was a language barrier for sure and our group doesn't speak any Chinese dialects. This was a bit problematic. And my least favorite thing to critique was the food, everything was passable but didn't taste as great. The rice was very stale and dry, the toppings in my clay pot casserole didn't taste as fresh and it was hard to finish. I have been to the Chinatown Manhattan King's Kitchen and the quality is different there. I do love clay pots but this place didn't leave its mark for me like their Manhattan Chinatown counterpart. I'll still come here to get my flat duck cuts for the most part.

BBQ pork and roast pork over white rice

My go-to spot for an affordable meal. Their bbq pork is top tier compared to a lot of other spots.

F2. Mixed Sauces Rice Rolls - too dry not enough sauce
Melody C.

I tried this place recently through delivery. The congee with pork and preserved egg and the congee with dry squid and jellyfish were decent. The rice noodles could be better though. I was very happy to see that they sold crispy vegetables rice noodle roll - it's like a spring roll wrapped in rice noodle. But it looked so sad - only six pieces sitting on top of a layer of plain rice noodle. It's much more worth it at dim sum parlors. But at least it was yummy. Can't say the same for the mixed sauces rice roll. It was sooo dry and lacking sauce, which is supposed to be the main highlight of this dish.

I like their food. The staff is pretty poor at keeping order of their lines. What in the world is a line? Who knew it worked the same way as the Chinese supermarkets and bakeries - where as long as you have the louder voice and have no shame in cutting the line you can get served first? Is that a Chinese thing? I don't get it. I'm chinese too but I was taught to respect others and follow rules. Could it be possible that I was brought up the wrong way? When I worked as a cashier and people cut in line, I made sure to tell the cutter who was ahead of them and made them wait in an orderly fashion. They should do the same. I'm done with my rant. When I placed my order (for take out), they asked me if I wanted it now...(?) I guess I shouldn't rule out that maybe they thought I wanted to place my order for later or tomorrow? I've never been asked that question before so I am a little confused. Nonetheless, their food is good. My favorite is the preserved meat rice casserole. I haven't tried their congee but my mother-in-law says it's good. I'll take her word for it.

1/2 duck for takeout. We ate a bunch of pieces before taking this photo.

The Uber Eats menu doesn't have only meat order like (half chicken), how do I include that in my order for delivery?

Hi! We are still new on Uber Eats and not everything is added yet. We will work on adding that option soon :)

Is there room upstairs? My in-laws and my family are planning to go for lunch. There are 7 of us. (Downstairs always seems a little tight when it's packed)

Hi Katrina! We open up our second floor which has bigger tables on Friday and Saturday night once it gets packed in the evening.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. We went on a Saturday at 5:30pm so it wasn't too crowded. Overall delicious and the staff were all friendly and very attentive in filling up our water for our spicy meal. There was nothing that I ordered that needed ketchup. Nothing. There wasn't even soy sauce in the bag. Then had the unmitigated gall to charge $22 for the salt baked shrimp and told me I had to pay $5 extra to substitute the lo mein for white rice. Who is eating white rice with shrimp? Girl bye. I'm not paying almost $30 for one meal from a hood Chinese spot. If there's no heat in your establishment, your prices need to be in lowercase. If it looks like you might catch staph in your establishment, your prices need not to be so loud. I also believe they overcharged me. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. This is what I get for cheating on my spot and being lazy when they both were far af.
