Add in a very adult dose of rye whiskey and a dash of creme de menthe, and you have a drink that I'll be recommending to everyone I know for as long as it's on the menu. Thank you for the alcoholic version of a warm hug on a day that I really needed it.

It tasted like it had just been made, and the chips were the perfect vehicle for it. Now let's talk about these drinks! First, I ordered an espresso martini, and shout out to Lucha Rosa for already making it with tequila because that's exactly how I like mine. No special requests needed! I also tried the Lucha Rosa Margarita, and whew...it was SO bomb. It was as pretty as it was delicious, which is always a win. The service was great from start to finish. There wasn't a hostess at the stand when we walked in, so we grabbed seats at the bar. She greeted us shortly after, and our bartender was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer our questions about the cocktail menu. His recommendations did not disappoint. Pricing felt comparable to other rooftop bars in the area, maybe just a touch higher, but nothing unexpected for the location and atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere...the rooftop is gorgeous. The indoor and outdoor spaces are both beautifully designed. It was blazing hot and sunny during our visit, so we happily stayed inside enjoying the air conditioning, but I'd love to come back on a cooler evening to enjoy the outdoor space. We got beef and chicken tacos which weren't great but filled us up since we were starving.

Salad came out looking like a side salad on a large plate with five slices of rare, tough steak. It was so rare, that it was extremely hard to cut through, but again, who was I going to talk to about it. No wait staff would even look my way. I couldn't even get a refill on my water and there is no place in the app to order a glass of water...so that's that. Unfortunately it was just an extremely bad experience for $40. I'll be looking for dinner somewhere else tomorrow night.

Christopher Chapman and I had a personal relationship that ended approximately two years ago, and I had not patronized this bar in roughly two years. When I visited on September 19, I did not speak to Christopher, order from him, or cause any disturbance. I later returned with friends on a night Christopher wasn't even working and was denied entry. When questioned, Christopher explicitly told me, "Your friends are allowed. You aren't." He then accused me of using my passport to "sneak in," which simply did not happen. If there is a legitimate conduct-based reason for banning me, one has never been provided. Instead, I am apparently being singled out because of a personal relationship that ended years ago. It is deeply concerning to see a personal grievance carried out through a public-facing business--especially against a woman who is simply minding her business, peacefully enjoying an evening with friends, and making no attempt to interact with him. Prospective customers can decide for themselves what they think of that.

Whoever came up with the idea of a bar that let's you bring your own food and serves free unlimited popcorn is a genius. The beers are fantastic (and affordable) across the board, and I think my friends and I have drank at least half their selections through our combined efforts by now. The menu also does a great job describing and categorizing each beer, which is SO helpful if you're not familiar with every brand or microbrew from wherever. You can be happy sipping your drink while gazing at the walls, the interesting tables, the fetching lights, the fun juke box, the not-too-intrusive TVs. The drink list is big enough to entice you to try it all, but small enough to not overwhelm - fun options for beer, wine (cans!) and cocktails, even for the intimidated-by-cocktails-person (me)! Sunday funday, rolling with group of friends around DC we came in to kingfisher randomly and was pleasantly surprised. We had lots of shots and the beers were great. The bar was busy and we met another great group of folks. Enjoyed some free popcorn and yummy toppings the atmosphere was comfortable and chill.
