I like the food here it's just that the portions are small and to think I would be paying $13 dollars for 3 scoops of rice and a little meat is ridiculous. Everytime I call no one barely speaks English and it's so frustrating. But overall it's not a bad establishment. The food quality is still good it's just the portions are unreasonable to the price. Been here too many times to count, for take out and dining in. Dining in the service is not amazing they can take long, sometimes you have to flag them for the check because they won't check on you. Take out is better because they are more attentive at the front. I usually order pernil, white rice and a side of red beans which is $11. But everything is worth trying. They are constantly changing their prices..If a meal is valued at 24.99 they round it off to 25.00 and if you don't have 2 cents they won't give you the meal but they'll round off the meal because it serves them. I've been there 3 times now and each time is just as good as the last. They do NOT accept credit cards. Cash only. My brother came to NY recently from Arkansas to visit. The first thing he told me was that he wanted Spanish food. He's very picky about his food but put his trust in me to take him somewhere good. I took him to king grill and he absolutely loved the food. The portions were a good size and even my mother from Puerto Rico who had a recent bad experience at another restaurant with their mofongo loved King Grill's Shrimp Mofongo. My mother even enjoyed the music playing and I took her for their live music nights during the weekend, which she loved . The waitress was very alert and friendly and made sure we were taken care of. My brother and mother were very happy and he marked it as a restaurant he would definitely go back to which in my opinion gets the restaurant another 5 stars. The owners are also very courteous and friendly. You can tell they want to make sure their customers enjoy their food experiences. We visited The Bronx on Nov 13-16 and came here on the 14th...I wanted authentic Spanish food from the Bronx in seeing I'm Puerto Rican and Colombian and from Cleveland. I was very disappointed. I got the Carne Asada and Madudos. The service sucked, music was to loud and the steak was burnt. My Madudos were made with almost ripe bananas and not sweet at all.
