We are visiting from California and we chose to eat here. The food was nice once we finally got it. The service was lacking, a lot. We were there for a long 2 hours because they forgot to put are order in. There were two waiters literally running all over the restaurant. The environment looked calm but really wasn't it was crowded with tables right next to each other. We had to ask for water and the waiters never checked in on us. I've had a great time catching up with my girl friend here, and it's turned into our go to spot - we come here at least once or twice a month. The soup dumplings are HUGE. Been wanting to try this spot. WOW. Food was amazing - everything we ordered, shrimp and veggie dumplings, pork bao buns, scallion pancake, noodle dishes, were exceptional. For the noodle dishes, you can select handmade noodles, and that is recommended. It is in a stripmall, and so kind of expected a stripmall vibe seating area. But, pleasantly surprised to find a very clean modern vibe, but without the annoying high decibel noise level of so many restaurants. I will be back, and bringing friends! read more

They lost our order we waited over an hour for our food and they didn't offer to compensate us. They told us they'd "refund us and we can try them a different day." I replied we didn't even pay yet! And we are hungry we just want our food! So we waited another 30 minutes, definitely probably 90 min total. Absolutely delightful. We placed an order for pickup and were very pleased with the quality of the food. The woman who checked us out was super sweet and told us how the dumpling are made fresh daily! We ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings, fried pork dumplings, pork steamed buns, and cucumber salad. I'm used to sweet pork in steamed buns but there were more savory and aromatic, not my favorite but still tasty. My favorite item was the steamed shrimp while my boyfriend loved the fried pork. We're planning on getting a different mix next time we go because everything was very tasty we can't wait to try more! read more

What a surprise! We live in a city with some truly delicious Chinese food, but we all agreed that if King Dumpling were near us, we would never stray. For lunch, we tried 3 kinds of steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, cucumber salad, salted crispy chicken, Dan Dan noodle soup with handmade noodles -- all perfect. Amazing was their housemade sriracha/garlic chili sauce -- ridiculously good. The service was top notch and the owner came out to check on us (sat outside on a lovely day). One word: Go! read more

Went here when they opened, it was ok. My coworker wanted to try this place so I went again, huge mistake. The dan dan noodle had a very off putting smell of old pork, the shrimp fried dumplings I remembered being the best dish they had was bland and had a tiny single shrimp in it, the kind you'd use for bait when fishing. My buddy ordered the soup dumplings that had no soup in them. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she just laughed and said sometimes they're not careful when they put them in, so they lose the soup. I wanted to love this place. I am a Chinese immigrant and I always look for good Chinese dishes whenever I travel. The dumpling skins are too thick. We ate the meat and some of the skin, but where they close the dumplings, it is way too thick and dense. The scallion pancakes were the best tasting of everything we ordered. It didn't have all the layers that traditional scallion pancakes have, but the flavor was very good. The shrimp fried rice was very oily. And they added carrots. Which is a pet peeve of mine. You couldn't eat very much of it because it was so oily. The pan fried pork buns had too much bread to pork ratio. The bread was not fluffy but very dense. The meat was flavorful so we pretty much just ate the meat. The pan fried pork dumplings were the best dumplings we had. But the skin was a bit thick and dense as well. The fried squid tentacles were very good. Flavorful and not greasy. The right amount of breading. The shrimp dumplings with the spicy sauce was ok. Again, the skin was thick and dense. The flavor was good. The steamed shrimp dumplings were huge. But the filling was dry and the skin was very dense and thick. This one was the worse of all the dumplings. I really wanted to like the soup dumplings. The meat they used is the same that they put into the pan fried pork dumplings. They just added the soup jelly to it to create the soup. The skin was not as thick as the others, but the skin is dense and not smooth. It was thick at the top where they close it off. The soup jelly that you normally use is clear when you bite into a soup dumpling. It's suppose to be clear. This one is not which means that they don't take the time to make the broth properly. All in all, it was not a bad soup dumpling, just not very good. We had one jasmine tea, one ginger tea and a Thai tea. Nothing special. They must use tea bags since they don't use loose tea leaves to steep the teas freshly. So don't expect freshly steeped teas. The Thai iced tea was good. But you can't really mess up a dry tea mix. To sum it up, I won't be going back. The thickness and denseness of the dough on all of their dumplings are not anything that I can overlook. It's so unfortunate. The food was delicious, the table sauce provided was so good we wished we could buy some, and we also got mango boba tea, which was the best we've ever had. Had lunch here with a friend who is also a dumpling aficionado. Their dumplings are larger than other places, for those who are griping about price/cost. The dumplings are made from scratch (you can see the auntie making them behind the counter!) and the wrappers are just the right thickness (not too thick). The filling is tender and juicy. We had the soup dumplings, fried buns, scallion pancakes (more of a crispy vs flaky texture, but I enjoyed it) and the beef noodle soup. We asked for chili oil and that was the perfect accompaniment.
