I'm giving three stars because the food and portions were definitely good. The service was also good. However, there was a bunch of bugs on our table (a jumping spider and smaller bugs) and towards the end when we paid, we were only able to put $5 on the table at the time when she came back and before we could put more on the table, she gave us a nasty look and said "this is the tip?" Food was decent. Portions are good. Maybe it just tastes a bit like white-washed Chinese food to me because I'm used to really flavorful, spicy (especially when you ask for spicy or extra spicy) Chinese/Taiwanese/any Asian food. The chicken in the chow fun was a bit dry, and the other plates that were supposed to be spicy/extra spicy barely had any kick to them. Service was great. Food came out pretty quickly and the server was really nice and attentive. The restaurant was empty when we went, but also it could be because we went for an early dinner around 4:30/5:00. At the end we decided on Family Dinner B with Sesame Chicken and, thanks to our friend who let us pick another dish from the regular dinner menu - curried fish. We enjoyed the egg rolls, crab cheese wonton, and especially the fried wings. Very juicy. Soups are standard. The sesame chicken had a tad too much batter. It's a bummer because this is super close to my home and the staff was so friendly, but the food was absolutely terrible. We had the pad Thai and chicken in garlic sauce. The pad Thai had absolutely no flavor. The veggies were terribly undercooked, there was no sauce and the meat tasted sour. The garlic chicken was similarly lacking flavor. The veggies were undercooked and even the fried rice wasn't good. We had egg drop and hit and sour soup that were okay but still didn't make this at all enjoyable. I have brand-new food restrictions for my new health issues. Super difficult to find food, much less eat out. (LOW salt, no beef or pork, no fried and low fat.) Li's served us delicious meals with a pleasant experience. We had steamed chicken and mixed vegetables with brown rice. What made it super thoughtful is that she offered a choice of 4 sauces on the side. I've been searching for a Chinese restaurant for some time. Li's offers the traditional menu. On my first visit I tried the hot and sour soup. It was very good. A small portion is enough for one, but not for two. For my main course I had beef and broccoli. It was good and the portion size was fine. It came with white rice. I had takeout, because their dine-in service is not yet back. They told me dine-in would return in late July. The restaurant appeared clean, but not spotless. I thought the meal was a good value and will certainly try some of their other dishes. read more

Used to be our favorite restaurant. The owner was really nice and we would sit down with her and have a drink while we waited for our food. The place is changed too much. They act like they are police officers telling you what you're going to eat. They change the menu. You have to do it their way. They are not interested in your way, but you have to do it their way. Lunch specials came with hot & sour soup, which was good, and egg rolls that I didn't like but my friend did. She also loved her lemon chicken, particularly that it wasn't over breaded. I like Li's and have been a customer for more than 5 years. Made the first order since they re-opened. They are now under new ownership. I didn't think the food was quite as good as it used to be. Free Crab Cheese Wontons are NO longer, which is sad. Beef was different and less tasty. Chicken was cut differently for Sesame Chicken and it had less flavor than usual. This is an unassuming little restaurant with delicious and satisfying food! We happened to stop here after a visit to the butterfly pavilion closeby. And very glad we did! We ordered two entrees-- cashew chicken and veg chowmein. Both came with rice, egg rolls, and choice of soup. Everything tasted great! I don't know what home-made chinese food tastes like, but I so think this should be it. There was plenty of food for me and husband and toddler. Lots of leftovers to take back home. I am torn because I want to give them 5 stars -- as I feel like they did a great job of what they intended to do! They are not trying to match up to some of the fine-dining chinese restaurants. They are trying to make simple food but make it great. But when I think of restaurants I gave 5 stars to, I can't do that here really, in all fairness. So, here goes! read more

It is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and I'm thinking of finding someplace else. The food is OK-nothing special and not particularly inexpensive. A couple of things have been bothering me. The crispy noodles that come with soup for free in the restaurant cost $1 when you order take-out. The containers with condiments that come with egg rolls and other dishes are minuscule.The appetizer BBQ ribs cost $12 for 4 ribs, and they were tough with little meat.
