Been ordering from Red Lantern for 25 years tonight they got the order wrong and they blamed us, that's ok we don't need to order here anymore, one of our meals was wrong we ended having to had wait for the right meal to be delivered which made the first part of our meal cold and the one they fixed was not very good not sure what is wrong with this place but we have always had good service before this they know us by our phone number. Best word I can come up with to describe the food here is strange/weird. The Won Ton soup was tasteless. I mean how do you screw up soup? The Chicken Low Mein was okay; not verry flavorful or what I would call great. The Sweet and Sour Pork was the big disappointment. Came with very few vegetables and what they did give were raw. They should be crunchy yes, but cooked a bit. The coating or dough on the pork was soggy not crisp like it should have been. Service was horrible. One guy who kept disappearing. The food was amazing definitely some of the best Chinese food I have had, and the service was great.

We did delivery. We had two House Dinners which comes with a choice of soup, the Pu pu platter and a choice of entree. The wonton soup was very good as was the hot and sour soup. The Pu pu platter was great. And both the Cashew chicken and the Mongolian beef were excellent. Delivery time Sunday night was 35 minutes. WOW! All in all I'd give them an A+. read more

This is a classic American "Chinese Restaurant" with crunchie strips and sweet and sour sauce to start, EXCELLENT hot and sour soup, and all the usual suspects on the menu. I recommend the "Kung Pao" anything any long as you are ok with a little spice. I love "dine in" lunch, which is a steal, and "take out" dinner. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Good things are worth waiting for?" That is definitely this case here! Everything we got was flavorful (as they should be), fresh, juicy, and in big portion! It's hard to find a Chinese place that gets Sesame Chicken right. I judge restaurants by how they make it and this one is spot on! There's actual white meat there, tangy sauce, and perfectly crunchy. Crab Wontons were lightly fried, Walnut Shrimp was amazing. Can't go wrong here folks. Yes, it takes time to prepare. But you'll be glad you did and will be coming back for more. This is coming from someone who worked in a Chinese restaurant for 5 years and also came from Vegas. I even spoke with a lady who makes a 75 mi round trip from Aurora just for this restaurant. OK, I LOVE Chinese food, and Red Lantern is the best. When I walk in, I am ALWAYS made to feel welcome. The food is always fresh. I give very high ratings to the hot and sour soup and the sesame chicken. Even better than the food is the service. They make you feel VERY welcome from the moment you walk in the door. So, it is well worth the drive for both the food and the service. The atmosphere is OK, but the service and food more than make up for it! read more

This is the worst Chinese-American food I've ever had. Everything was terrible. The rice was refrigerated cold in spots like it was microwaved. The chicken was stringy and chewy like it's been microwaved too long. The egg rolls tasted exactly like the frozen ones you throw in a friar for a minute. Honestly threw most of it away. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was horrible. It literally tasted like dirty socks. I have chicken pad Thai lots of places and this is not what it is supposed to taste like. I would definitely recommend eating here. We got take out and it was delicious. My favorite was the pork with black mushrooms. I will come back just for this dish as it had ALL the vegetables I wanted (baby corn, snow peas, broccoli, water chestnuts, etc.) so often I am disappointed in the lack of variety of vegetables in dishes, but this dish did not disappoint. Everything else we got came exactly how you would expect them. We got shrimp lo mein, sesame chicken, and Kung pao too. I only wish the Kung pao chicken had been a bit more spicey. Had a craving for Chinese last night, J's Cafe that we normally go to was closed. Thought try Red Lantern. Before I opened the bag I should've know it wasnt going to be good when my husband said Wow they arent very nice there. I didnt order anything difficult. Chicken Lo Mein extra Veg, pork fried rice, eggroll. They didnt even have to deliver, carryout. The cost was close to $40. Instead of the rice, we got 2 Lo Mein. Which was thin spaghetti noodle, the only Veg in it was several several huge pieces of broccoli and some snow peas, didnt even get the standard Veg. No sauce at all, only tasted the oil the cooked the chicken in. Had to make a 2nd trip to get the forgotten rice. Same thing no flavor added, the only reason the rice had color is the red stuff that's on the pork. The only part that was hot was the premade frozen eggroll, asked for several packs of hot mustard...that was a No, forgot that also. I have worked in retail food service for 40yrs. I understand how things are. Dont think I've ever commented on a restaurant. Well had to make 2 trips there I'm out $40. Sad I would have been better off getting frozen Chinese from King Soopers. Next time someone asks me a good Chinese place I will tell them where not to go read more

I don't live in Arvada, but I was down there the other night to run an errand, and I stopped in for dinner at this place. I was very pleased! I had the dinner special, which included soup, three appetizers, and the main course. I had the wonton soup, which was tasty and was sprinkled with nice, crispy lettuce--not soggy at all like you frequently find in wonton soup. The appetizers were delicious; I was worried at first b/c the beef skewer had a very wide slice of beef and there was no knife on the table. But it was tender enough for me to cut it with my fork. The entree I ordered was cashew chicken, and it was perfect--full of yummy veggies cooked firm enough, not soggy. The only thing that I'd say was possibly a little uninspired was the fried rice that came with it on the side, but the rice was serviceable enough, not bad. And the service was great--polite, very attentive. Even though I got there only about an hour before closing time, I never felt rushed at all, which was a relief--there seems to be a trend in restaurants these days of staffs wanting to start the closing process a couple hours before closing time and try to push the customers out the door early, but this place wasn't like that. Great experience--I would def. eat there again if I'm down that way, and I def. recommend it! read more
