I wanted to like this dry cleaners but just too expensive. I can get dry cleaning service at much better prices.

I've been a repeat customer for years and have always been happy with their dry cleaning for suits and dress shirts. Unfortunately, my experience with alterations was extremely disappointing. I brought in an expensive down jacket for a zipper repair. --Jacket was dropped off with a double zipper (two sliders) and was returned with a cheap single zipper. Jacket has now lost the ability to open from the bottom. Ok fine, I can live with this. --White insulation is now visibly sticking out on both sides of the collar unless it's fully zipped up. They failed to fold the batting back inside before sewing. Completely unacceptable and unsightly on a dark jacket. --They created a hole near the top of the collar and tried to cover it with a sloppy repair and large visible thread knot. --Loose, half-connected threads run the length of the jacket. These are the result of loose stitching. Not left-over threads that weren't trimmed. --Overall workmanship looks rushed and careless. I raised concerns at pickup, was still charged $40, and was offered no solution. I'm rating 2 stars because they were able to get a functioning zipper on it and they've been trustworthy for dry cleaning in the past. Please do not use this business for alterations. Take anything requiring sewing and repair elsewhere especially if this is a special piece. read more

The customer service I experienced was exceptional! I originally tried to do a pickup/delivery, but Aristotle was so helpful and called to let me know my area had a location where it was possible. I haven't used the locker system yet because I was able to drop off, due to be near their store. And I was able to pick up because I was already in the area. They stained my wedding dress. I've taken a few items in to get cleaned and they came back fine so I figured I'd trust them with my wedding dress. Big mistake on my part. I picked it up after getting it cleaned, and when I got home I noticed a blue stain on the outside on the back with an orange stain on the inside that were definitely not there before. I took it back in and showed them the stains, and the guy working said he'd talk to his manager and have them call me the next day. A week went by with no word so I stopped by to check in. I was told the stains were taken care of but when I got home the one on the inside was still there, plus a new black smudge had appeared on the collar. I give up and will take it elsewhere to get this fixed. I definitely wouldn't trust them with anything of value. read more

I've been to King Dry Cleaners several times before. They've never provided the greatest service but for the price and location they were good enough. Just today I went to pick up 9 items in preparation for a much needed Memorial Day weekend getaway only to discover the black stretch jeans that I planned to wear to dinner were totally faded all along the seams, pockets, belt area, etc... It looks like they either washed them instead of dry cleaning or they burned them when pressing. Either way they're ruined! The King Dry Cleaners employee offered to reclean them as if that would reverse the color. I declined and requested the manager, Aristotle Alquiza, call me. This....person....calls me with no solution. He basically tells me they're not responsible for color fading even though they've cleaned this exact pair of jeans a couple of times before without issue. This proves that they CLEARLY did something wrong this time. While Im asking him how will he rectify the situation he just continues to disrespectfully talk and talk and talk over me to the point I had to yell at him with a couple of choice words thrown in. Aristotle then refused to give me a refund lol. A refund couldn't replace my jeans but refusing to give them anymore of my business and encouraging others to stay far away from this place will have to do. My boyfriend stopped going to them a while ago. I should've listened. Don't disregard a warning like me.... Side Note: When I asked or Aristotle's business card they gave me his realtor card. I took a brand new never washed never dry cleaned overstaffed, goose down comforter and to be dry cleaned and they gave me back some crappy hundred dollar POS claiming that that's what I took them. Then I brought in the outside of the goose down comforter to show them what the name of the comforter was? no that wasn't the comforter they gave me and they told me that I was a liar and gave me back a piece of crap. I have been to this location a few times. It had great reviews a few years back and was closest to my home. The first time I went in I brought a parka for cleaning. The man behind the counter said, "Wow this is nice. HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR IT?!" I was shocked someone would ask such a rude question. They did a fine job cleaning it. The second time I went in with an item there he is again. Same question, HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR THIS? I am wondering if I am being charged for cleaning based on my net worth at this point. The third and final time I gave this business a chance was three weeks ago. I brought in drapes I wanted altered with the new fabric to alter them. I was told yes, we have a seamstress who can do this by a young woman there. I leave the drapes without being questioned as to what they cost for once. I went in to pick them up today, after three weeks of waiting, and was told they weren't touched by the seamstress because she is sick but someone was supposed to have called me to let me know. Nothing was done and I was unceremoniously handed my custom made drapes back in a wad with the new fabric in a plastic bag. Wrinkled, dirty and my time having been wasted. I didn't receive a call and was just told "Sorry" by the teenager working there. I gave this business three chances and all they proved to me is that they are uncuth and classless. read more

I had a positive experience with this dry cleaning service. The staff was friendly (esp the guy on duty on Saturdays- forgot his name). My clothes looked fresh and as good as new. I also had a black coat cleaned that I havent been able to wear because it looks old and lint all over, but they were able to clean and now looks new. I went to pick my dry cleaning up this time and they wanted to add on $50 in random back charges. I refused to pay of course. I asked to talk to the manager and the girl there called him. After a very long wait he said they were forgotten changes on multiple past orders. That's crazy and how do I know it's even legitimate. I've never had this happen at any dry cleaners, you pay in full for your order each time. I again refused to pay and said I'd pay for my current order. They wouldn't let me and still have my clothes. I brought in a very expensive handknit Brooks Brothers sweater to be dry cleaned. My wife had just bought it for me for Christmas and I was going to wear it on Valentine's Day. A few days later I picked up the sweater from this cleaner but they had shrunken my sweater by 2 sizes. I complained to Aris, the owner but he just laughed at me. I believe he is not insured. When that didn't work you blamed her for washing it before it was originally brought in. We put up a holy stinking fuss like some of your previous customers, and you told us to come in for a $75 payment for wrecking the blanket, BUT when my elderly mom drove over to pick it up, you only gave her $50 and you stonewalled her with tales of financial hardship. I gave you 2 stars for the $50. My advice to patrons is to always get a written receipt stating what you are leaving and the service to be provided. Honestly really bummed out on this place I hate writing bad reviews but I'm fuming. I was so stoked to have found them and try them out but I just went to pick up my dry cleaning which consisted of a dress, men's full suit and 3 men's dress shirt. When she brought me the clothes the pants were missing and the lady just kept telling me there were only 5 items not 6 and there were no suit pants. I had to be kinda stern because honestly it was frustrating. She finally went around the side and said what size are the pants which I had no clue because they aren't mine they are my boyfriends. She told me she THOUGHT they might be them....I lifted up the plastic to check everything out because it was already a pretty bad experience. Sure enough it didn't look like they had even cleaned the suit jacket. It has white stuff down by the cuffs and cat hair all over it. When I pointed it out to her she said ya we had to charge you extra for the cat hair on the jacket. THERE WAS STILL CAT HAIR ON THE JACKET AND THEY CHARGED ME 14 extra dollars for it. There were other people in there and I didn't want to cause a scene so i left. The two stars are being nice because they were able to get everything done in 48 hours. I took my curtains/panel to get them cleaned because of the smoke from the fires. I was told it would be a week. After 10 days, I called back and they said that they have not started because they are too busy and they have to manually remove pet hair. I asked how long it would take and he said at least another week. Then I asked how much it will be and he said he doesn't know. When I complained about them not calling and letting me know about status, he said "you can just come and pick it up" (without being cleaned). Every time I went in store the person working was helpful and courteous, and the pick up and drop off process always was timely. Whenever I had pieces that needed special attention or cleaning I made notes in the app and those parts of the clothes were extra clean. Convenient and at reasonable cost. read more

I don't like to give bad reviews ... but ... they opened twenty minutes late, and, in my estimation, overcharged.

I brought in my shirts to have some repairs done. It took almost two weeks. They over-starched my white shirt, which ended up tearing as a result. I washed the other one to get rid of the starch, but it seems I didn't get rid of enough and the stitching came loose. None of my other shirts are having problems, only the ones handled by them. I requested alterations to be done on my pants. No alterations were done, but I was charged for the cleaning, which they didn't need. Called to address the issue, and the woman I spoke with on the phone assured me that I would not be charged for cleaning again. I asked for her name so I could put in the notes that she assured me I would not be charged, and she refused to give me her name. I wasn't even asking her full name, just her first name. And she refused, presumably so she wouldn't have to get in trouble for lying to me to get me off the phone. Never again. I was using their lockers at work because they're convenient, but this is an absolute disaster. read more

My regular dry cleaners moved to a new location further from where I reside. (I've been using their services for 6+ years and never had one issue) So I decided to give King Dry Cleaners a try because they're closer. This has been my 4th or 5th time using their services and promy last. I had 5 pairs of slacks and 5 dress shirts to dry clean. 4 out of 5 slacks have some sort of ink marks on them. I noticed them while I was packing for a business trip scheduled for this Sunday. I'll be taking them in tomorrow morning(Saturday) to see if they can get the ink marks removed before my business trip. (Will update this review on how they handle this situation and results) What a inconvenience and the possibility of having ruined slacks! I wanted to share my experience....you've been warned. Side note: checked dress shirts and they are okay! Thank God! Update: 2-16-19 It's been over 2 months and Aris the owner has not fixed the issue with my slacks. I brought the slacks in to give them a chance to get the ink stains out and they couldn't. Aris said that he would replace them. I came in the other day to check and see if he got the replacements. He told me that he doesn't have them and would give me a call the next day. Well... that never happened and this has become a nightmare!!! I have given Aris multiple chances to fix the situation and nothing. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DO NOT take your dry cleaning here. I brought in a suit jacket on a Wednesday and was told it would be done Saturday. It wasn't. "Maybe Monday," I was told. I made it clear that the cleaning had to be done by Monday as it and I had an early morning Tuesday flight. Monday late morning, when I arrived to get the jacket, it was not only NOT still cleaned, but it wasn't even on the premises! For reasons still unclear, it was at some other location. I again repeated the information about my flight the next day and said I'd be back for the jacket late afternoon. But when I arrived the jacket had been cleaned (or so they said; when I got it home, I noticed lots of dirty spots), but not pressed AND there was no one there who could press it!! I had to repack with a different suit. Needless to say I will never patronize this place again. read more

I completely understand that people make mistakes but the way my situation is being handled at King Cleaners is the most unprofessional experience I've had with any business. I took in a formal gown that I purchased for over $350 to be unwrinkled for a military ball. When I dropped off the dress, the beads were a beautiful grey and pearl in color. When I picked up the dress, the beads looked yellow as it was showing the plastic that was under the color, with some grey that had survived on certain spots. I expressed my concern that the dress had been damaged and Doris (I believe this was the employee's name) fought back, telling me it was just the lighting, even after I had shown her a before picture. I did not have time to deal with the situation so I came back later to talk to the manager. He told me that the dress did not look any different than the before picture. He continued to ask about how long I had had the dress and other factors that he would be able to blame for the damage. The beading was in perfect condition when I brought in the dress. Aris, the manager, refused to provide any information about his superior or answer other questions that would allow me to get the situation handled, as he was not helpful. I expressed how much the dress meant to me (sentimentally and financially) and that I will do what it takes to get the situation handled. He responded with "The courts don't care about sentimental value." I was completely taken back. The courts do, in fact, care about damage. I have checked in with Aris, who has told me he needs to speak to the owners about the situation. We have sent in the pictures and details in an email to the company but still with no response. We have later contacted customer service to get answers and searched Public Records just to find out that Aris is also the owner. We have called, text and emailed Aris for a month with no response as to the status of our claim. Again, people make mistakes and that is completely understandable but King Cleaners will take no accountability for their actions so please do not take a chance with them read more

I was double-charged for 2 items, and even after going back and forth with Aristotle, who admitted that he had double charged me, he was either unwilling or unable to refund my money. The employees in this store need to learn how to use their computer and their Point Of Sale system. Firstly, they don't take cash, and then they can't even figure out how to read a receipt or give credit. Their solution is to just cheat you out of your money. Poor way to do business, in my opinion. I'm not sure what's going on here. King Cleaners seems to be related to the pickup/delivery service, Dry Cleaners Express, but their websites are different URLs and don't mention each other in a definable way. The websites are nearly the same, however. The prices on each site seem to be the same, but upon my first visit, I was charged $1.50 more than what either menu states. Whether this was because I utilized the "$10 off cleaning for first time guest special" I'm not sure, but the comparison between $10 and $1.50, just glad I got my $10 discount I guess. I have not yet picked up the clothes so I'm not sure of the quality of cleaning yet, but I'm so very confused about these 2 businesses and why my prices didn't match either menu. read more

I've used this business for all of my dry cleaning for years. I recently brought in and picked up a custom made button shirt. When I got home and unwrapped the shirt I noticed that both buttons on the pockets were melted and there were imprints in the shirt where the buttons had melted into the fabric. I brought the shirt directly back into the business. The employee took pictures and noted the damage to my account. I immediately received a phone call from the manager/owner who stated there was no way his machines could do that and that I could come in and look at his machines. I have no desire to look at the machines nor would I have any idea what I was looking at. No ownership or responsibility for the mistake at all. Terrible customer service, after years this business will never receive my patronage again. I suggest going up the street to the dry cleaners by Raley's. FALSE ADVERTISING! This place has given me the runaround. Their website says it's open 7 days per week - it's not. I tried to drop off something at the Mae Anne location on a Friday for Sunday pickup, they said it was closed on Sunday, but the Peckham location was open on Sundays. I drove all the way over there, and they said they too were closed. I decided to give them another chance. I called their number and got a recording saying they do same day or next day service. I went there on Friday and that same lady told me they don't do that, but Peckham does (already fell for that once). I told her I just called and it says the Mae Anne location does do that, she replied they don't even have pressers there on Friday and Saturday. I am done. read more
