Living in Reno it's not often that I don a suit, or even wear anything that needs to go to the dry cleaners, so the last time I found myself in need for one, I did as I usually do and went to Yelp and found Lakeridge Cleaners nearby. While it had decent ratings, I figured a dry cleaner is a dry cleaner, and just went for it. My first experience here was awesome. As I came through the door, a friendly girl, who happened to be quite pretty, greeted me. I told her this was my first time coming in, so she quickly put my info in the system and got my clothes checked in for their spa treatment. At the end she handed me a claim check and told me it would be ready for pick up two days later in the afternoon. Pretty speedy service in my mind, and sure enough it was ready to go so I could look fresh dressed like a million bucks at whatever function I was attending. So why 4 stars after an experience like that? Well my second visit wasn't quite as awesome as the first. When I came in this time, instead of the beautiful smiling face that greeted me the first time, I was met with someone who appeared to be less than happy to be at work that day. There was no pep in her step and friendly is not a word Id use to describe this interaction. She got my clothes checked in, handed me the claim ticket, and asked me if A Thursday pickup was ok. When I asked for Wednesday, I got the same "cheery" look of disdain and an "ok" from her. So to highlight some positives, I will give her points for saving me a few bucks with a decision to launder something versus simply press it. Overall this would've made this a 2 star experience. The visit to pick up my clothes is what saves this from being a total disaster though. I apologize for forgetting her name, but the lady with the reddish hair that greeted me, with a smile, is an amazing employee. After getting my clothes and paying ($25 for a tux and three shirts) I briefly shared my experience with her and she was shocked. Had I not asked, I would've guessed she was the owner. As it turns out she's a very longtime employee, and she treats this business as if it were her own. She mentioned that she'd speak with the owner about my experience and be sure they put more focus on their training going forward. I was amazed and incredibly pleased to hear this. If you're the business owner make sure you take good care of this woman because she has your best interest in mind in everything she does. So the moral of the story is don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch, and make sure you take the sum of your experiences into account. Everything was fine with these guys for YEARS. I travel for biz, and speak in front of large audiences, so I have monthly piles of clothes to be dry cleaned and laundered. Then, just a while ago, I take 5 brand new shirts to them to be laundered and pressed. They all come back with a scorched line going up the right sleeve. Five different brands of shirt, several different kinds of material. All ruined in the same exact way. I take the shirts back, show them the identical scorch lines running the same sleeves... and they deny it's their problem. First, it's my problem, somehow. When that doesn't work, then it's Macy's fault, somehow. Finally, after WEEKS of being avoided by the manager at the main store, they admit they screwed up. Obviously, the pressing was done with too much heat. Totally ruined the shirts. But then... nothing. Their attitude is "go ahead, sue us". And this, to a loyal customer with years of monthly visits (average charge over $50). And to avoid paying for 5 shirts they ruined, they chucked our relationship in the trash. I've found a great new cleaners, who know how to do their job. Avoid this joint like the plague. They are essentially sociopaths with no sense of professionalism, who feel protected by the fact it's seldom worth the trouble to sue them. Though I've contacted my lawyer... read more

Is there less than one star available? This was our first and LAST time using Lakeridge. They completely ruined a silk dress, didn't tell us about it. They just bundled it up with everything else so it was a lot if trouble for us to thoroughly check each garment. I had to wait until I got home to find out the dress was ruined! I brought back the dress and had to leave it with them so "their Dry cleaner could look at it and determine if she had ruined it". Of course they are claiming they did nothing wrong but they dress had only been worn once and was in great condition until I took it in and now it is unwearable with no less than five 1 foot long runs/snags in the material! I have spoken to the store about the issue a couple of times in the last month and they always say they'll have someone else call me back. The first time no one called me back for a week, this time its been almost 3 weeks and I had to call them. I spoke to Cathy, the same woman I had spoken to previously and this time she was completely rude claiming I was suppose to call Judy, the GM who "has limited hours and will be hard to contact," but until today no one had ever given me Judy's number. Cathy was very short with me and obviously not at all concerned that her store ruined my dress. On top of it all, as of right now they still have no intentions on compensating me for the dress and no official word on whether they will even comp the dry cleaning cost. There is absolutely No chance we will ever be back and I don't recommend anyone else using them either! read more

Personally it was on the expensive side but I just moved here from Vegas where I got mine done for $5 dollars. And let's be real that price was ridiculously low. I have been a happy customer of Lakeridge cleaners for 12 years. I recently took a Ralph Lauren comforter in for cleaning. Lakeside cleaners followed the manufacturer's cleaning instructions; however, due to faulty workmanship and design the comforter was ruined. Unfortunately the pattern was discontinued and a replacement couldn't be found anywhere. Naturally I had all the matching pieces and now the set couldn't be used. The staff and owner couldn't have been more helpful! They went out of their way to help me explored various replacemnet options. Having no luck find a discontinued comforter, the owner offered to purchase a comparable replacement set of my choice! I've never experienced customer service like this before! Please keep in mind, I am an older man. I just don't understand employees that have an "attitude" with customers. I was brought up that the "customer is always right". Actually I was taught that there are "two rules of good business. 1. The customer is always right. 2. Never forget number 1." So why the attitude? I have been going here for a number of years. There have been a number of employees thru the years and everything has been fine. I am a clothes horse and have way too many clothes. Sometimes I don't remember that I even have clothes at the cleaners. (I'm old and hope ya'all can remember Mr. Magog) I picked up some cleaning and put the items in my closet. So you know my closets look like the racks in this business. My clothes are all in the plastic like when they are picked up. (Mostly) I needed a pair of pants and pulled them off the rack. They were still in the plastic from the cleaners. I had taken this pair in and let them know there were spots that needed attention. Not only were the spots still there but there additional black marks on these tan slacks. I took them back to be redone. The employee asked when I had picked them up? Please remember the above. I'm old, have way to many clothes, can't remember yesterday, but the clothes were still in the plastic from this cleaners. When I explained I could not remember, she used a wand to read a bar code and rudely explained a date a few weeks back. I'm not sure why a pick up date has any credence to poor service and not sure why a cleaner date would have an expiration date. As I explained to the employee, that I had just unwrapped the pants. She rudely explained that she would redo "this time". I explained yes and if not I would go elsewhere. She huumphed. I actually believe I was charged, no big deal. I guess they have a run on customers wanting an item cleaned for free. To save a dollar. The black marks were made by them and should have been redone with an apology. Why cop an attitude? read more

I researched the web for a good, competent laundry/cleaner and Lakeridge Cleaners seemed like a good choice. I couldn't have been more wrong! I took linens--a lot of linens to be washed and ironed--I had no idea they'd charge $30 per set! That was bad enough, but the real disappointment was a beautiful cashmere/wool coat with fur trim to be cleaned, with 2 buttons sewn back on. I explained in detail, safety pinned the buttons to the exact location and asked if that could be done---"oh yeah, no problem". NOT!! And that's exactly how the coat came back...safety pins and all! UNBELIEVABLE! I mean how hard is it to sew the buttons on!?!? And wouldn't they think to do that before cleaning the coat????? It wasn't a rush job, I didn't ask for the moon and the stars.... just a simple question, can you sew two (2) buttons on for me, please???? When I called both the cleaner's main number AND the owner, Jim Buchanan...they're like, "well, you can bring the coat back....." REALLY??? Two trips???? Not going to happen--especially when I took elaborate measures to explain what I needed and when. Bottom line, they don't hire competent people, the two I encountered have a bit of a "don't give a darn attitude", which in this day and age will hurt your business and is simply not good enough! read more

(From my wife) This place is amazing. I usually don't write reviews but when a local place does a great job I like to give them a shout out. After my wedding, I did something bad. I simply shoved my wedding dress in the back of the closet -and there it stayed for 11 years. The bottom was filthy with grass stains because of where we took our pictures. Streaks of black randomly marked my dress from dancing, getting in and out of the limo, falling in my high heels, etc. Additionally, the fabric by the arms and back were discolored from the self-tanner I had been using for weeks in hopes that I wouldn't look pale on my wedding day. Finally, the guilt was too much and I took my dress to Lakeridge Cleaners to get cleaned. The woman there was very nice. I'm not familiar with dry cleaning and she explained the process (she wasn't condescending or pushy in any way). She told me that it might take 6 weeks and that they would have to remove the flowers on the dress and clean them separately so they wouldn't be damaged. She gave me an estimate (which ended up being exactly what I paid) and told me she would call me when it was finished, (it was done 3 weeks early). To be honest I didn't expect much, after all it had been in such a bad state for 11 years. I figured it would be a little cleaner but those stains weren't coming out, right? When I went to pick it up I would have happily paid double what they asked. My dress looks brand new. Seriously. Brand spanking new. I can't see a hint of any stains, marks or discoloration anywhere. It looks cleaner than the day I bought it. In summary: Lakeridge Cleaners is awesome. Quality work. People very nice and knowledgeable. Far exceeded my expectations. read more

They had already turned off their machines for the day, but proceeded to completely accommodate and practically ironed the whole thing by hand. I haven't had this type of service in a long time and it was so appreciated (shirt was for an interview, so it needed to be crisp). I will only come back to this cleaner in the future. For reference, I had stopped at BobbyPage cleaners first and the girl at the front desk told me to "look around" when I asked if they could press the shirt for me.
