All I can really say is , for sure you can tell that some of the choices are frozen foods, some foods are questionable whether or not they have been cooked a day or 2 ago and then reheated and back to the serving tables. Giving this place a extra star due to their cheesy crab meat side dish and their egg drop soup. I'm not a picky eater , so everything to me didn't seem to taste bad, but at the same time chinese food is a eh for me. This was honestly the perfect spot for our first Reno Christmas Buffet experience! I had been wanting to come to this restaurant for quite a while, and we ended up here on Christmas for dinner. The restaurant is huge, very bright and has a big selection! We went around 4:30pm and only had to wait for a few minutes. There is a nice selection of freshly made sushi and a Mongolian Wok to create your own stir fry. There is a decent salad & fruit bar. I was very impressed by the freshness of all of the hot dishes!! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The only shortcomings for me were the dessert selection and cleanliness of the restaurant. But my husband and I really enjoyed our meal and will definitely return again soon! read more

This place is run by a bunch of Low Lifes with no business values for the customer. They advertise on tv that their lunch buffet is $12.99 ... but when we get the bill, it's $13.99. When we question it, they say they don't know anything about that. Last year, we went for lunch around 3pm (near end of Lunch hour). So after we're done they charge us the dinner price. We say we got there during Lunch and they say we finished by dinner hour ... huh? We ask for the manager and we explain the situation, he just walks away and disappears.... Low Life !! So, the food? The food is the same as before they upgraded in 2020. Yes, the place "looks" nicer after covid and they raised the prices ... but the food is the same (not the best chinese food). The food is not worth the higher prices. We will not go there again and everyone needs to be aware of how they run their business. I noticed that all the pans in the help yourself line had NO description. Nothing! As we started to head towards the front door, he was following behind my cousin and rammed her in the butt with his cart!!! I couldn't believe he did this. We ignored him and continued up to the front counter to get the rice and noodles we ordered for a family member to bring home in a Styrofoam container. When I walked up to the hostess, I asked her about charging for an adult as she charged full price for my niece, who is very tiny and young. She corrected me and showed me on the check where we did receive the discounted price. I was not seeing it. OK, so all is good. I then asked where our to go boxes were? Then she turned and stormed off to the back kitchen area and came out a few minutes later and went completely around me and set the to go box on the wooden bench!!, Rude?? She originally told my cousin that she had a combo plate of rice and noodle that would be $9.95. But she then changed the order to 2 separate dishes and charged $ 19.??!!! So noodle and rice was more than the cost of 1 person buffet, which was around $17.??. At this point I was completely turned off by the service here. It gets better, though....as we were walking out, I commented that YELP, would definitely be hearing from me!! The hostess then,... FLIPPED ME THE BIRD, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ALL THE CUSTOMERS!!!!, NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!! Oh my!!... It was so comical, that all we could do was laugh!!! Me and my family have always grown to love King Buffet it a place I grew up with going regularly. It's a nice humble place where there's a lot of options of food and I mean A LOT there's even sushi. It's always fun to go with a group as it's a place you can get up and get what you want and sit down and have fun with you're family/friends. They have dessert, lunch and dinner it's pretty cool! They have meat and veggies. You can eat as much as you want 14.99 for lunch and 18.99 for dinner. Overall I have always loved this place and it makes me confused on why they get bad reviews :( read more

If you're trying to find a place that's cheap and okay food this is the place to go. I've been coming here ever since I was a kid, and pretty much most of my family love bringing the whole family here to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries...ect. But like I said in the begging it's a big okay. I reccomend going on the weekends for their seafood dinner. Crab legs and shrimp are my go to here. Very affordable especially being able to eat seafood here. Went in with a friend a few weeks ago to try something different for a change. The food was awful. Some things were cold that were supposed to be hot while some hot that were supposed to be cold. Other items were watery and gooey. Most items had no taste at all. I was afraid to even try the sushi. This place has really gone downhill since the virus. They may be trying to sell because the building has a for sale sign on it. The food also had way too much salt. I drank for hours after eating here. To make matters even worse, the server kept hanging around waiting for us to leave then when we were ready to leave and after getting the bill the server was no where around. So we went up to the cashier and the server ran up and told us we had to pay at the table. Ridiculous, don't have a cashier at the exit if diners can not pay there. My mom and I had lunch here yesterday after going to a craft fair. We used to eat here all the time, but we moved so it is no longer near our neighborhood. We thought we would give it a try and see if it was as good as we remembered. The restaurant was clean overall, but the carpeting near the tables definitely either needs replacing or a deep cleaning. The seat of the booth we were seated in needs to be reupholstered as it had a large tear in it. The buffet line; however, was clean as were the dishes. The food trays were filled and kept filled as people filled their plates. There was a large selection of popular Chinese dishes, sushi, and a salad section as well as two types of soup. The hot and sour soup was excellent with just the right amount of spiciness and served piping hot. I had a little bit of everything... mushrooms, sweet and sour chicken, a shrimp dish, beef and broccoli, fried rice. It was all very tasty. I also had a chicken skewer which was good, but just a tad dry. The Crab Rangoon used to be my favorite, but there was very little filling in these making them seem dry. The pot stickers were also excellent. My mom tried the sushi and said it was also good. The dessert selection seems to be store bought pastries and leaves a little to be desired. My mom had ice cream and said it was good. They serve Pepsi products if you have a preference. Going back for the first time in years, was odd. Of course because of covid it's weird anyway but they managed to stay open as an actual buffet which was nice. My girlfriend and I arrived around 7 pm so it was a bit busy but not too bad. The buffet is currently not self serve so you walk up to the counters (or get in line) and a server behind the shield will help you put together your plate. Inside we were seated by a friendly young gal and I noted the carpet was grungy and dropped food had not been cleaned up...just walked on. Absolutely Delicious from The Baby Clams in their buttery broth sauce, the Salmon (a full size Salmon) just waiting to be scooped up and the Giant Size Crab Legs, all as fresh as can be----those were our favorites. It was Thursday evening and the cost, $11.99 for each of us plus a $2 off coupon. Wow! I don't know how they do it. So Delicious and so Healthy.
