I ate here on Wednesday for lunch with a group of friends. I haven't been here in years. I walked in and it looked clean. The place wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. It looked like they had a good variety of food. I didn't get the Mongolian grilled food this time. I ended up getting some vegetable dish with seafood and scallops, an egg roll, and some other stuff. It tasted good. The food was warm. Then there was deserts. I got a piece of tiramisu cake. It actually tasted pretty good. I also got some tapioca pudding, and lychee fruits. One of worst Chinese buffets I've ever had. I like Chinese buffets for great value and selection, but this place is not it. Sometimes I just crave some salt and pepper shrimp, mushrooms, and little bit of everything. The taste is terrible for most of the stuff I got. It's been a while since we had lunch King Buffet at the Carson City location. When we entered the restaurant, the crowd was still pretty light but soon enough a steady stream of customers walked in the restaurant through our visit. The employees at the restaurant were very nice and efficient, they cleared our tables and topped off our drinks quickly and frequently. There was a good selection of food but it was a bit different from what I was used to but it was still pretty good and they had a good selection. Our 5-person party enjoyed a great many dishes they offered; I especially liked the two fish dishes in their buffet and all the seaweed salad I can eat from their sushi section. Came here with the family and friends. Everyone had a good time. The ambience was nice. We all caught multiple plates between the four adults and one for y'all. We pretty much tried everything. I really like the Mongolian barbecue was so good everything we could pick I chose lots of veggies and some shrimp of that protein. I just can't resist a Chinese buffet when I'm traveling and this was another example of that. I had skipped lunch and this ended up as an early dinner in Carson City. The buffet is in good shape. Nothing spectacular but clean and restocked often. I was able to put together a decent plate of all proteins though I did pop a couple pieces of nigiri sushi on a second plate. A little on the bland side but this is an Americanized Chinese buffet so that's to be expected. Clean restaurant and my waitress refilled the water and cleared dirty plates as needed. Remember the Sriracha (Rooster Sauce) shortage? It was gone from the shelves and fetching $30 a bottle on ebay! Well, Sriracha has RETURNED! The real stuff, not the imitations from overseas. Having lived in the area for 15 years finally decided to try King's Buffet. We went on a Sunday, excellent fresh food. Enjoyed the sushi, all the seafood, the tasty noodles, my favorite dessert gindui and the mango jello. We have been back twice now and will continue to go there. Normally in the Sacramento area, this would be a 4 star buffet, of which we have tons. But here in this Carson City area, it's as good as it's gonna get as far as a Chinese buffet. We're southbound on the 395 freeway, and it just ends here in south Carson, like they didn't have enough money to get it to the outside of town. As we climb this hill I see a King Buffet sign. This traffic sucks, so let's do lunch at a buffet! I couldn't tell it was Chinese by the name "King Buffet", but that's what it was. We just swing in and plenty of parking. There's even a Trader Joe's next door. I don't see any signs of what the price is, but how much can a Chinese buffet be? Oh, OK, it's $11.99 plus tax and tip for lunch. There's 2 steam tables with food and another table with sushi and another with desserts and a stir fry station. I see all the standard Chinese buffet foods, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, pot stickers, 2 kinds of steamed fish, green beans, fried chicken wings, plus many others. The food looked fresh at 11:30am at least. The guy was just making the sushi rolls. Sampling the wings ... I really love those fried wings! One great trick with the wings is scoop some of the sauce out of the General Chicken and put that on the fried wing ... yummers! The sushi was OK, the steamed fish was tender and the pot stickers were decent. Really, not a bad buffet as far as Chinese buffets go. I guess at dinner they bring out the seafood of crabs and shrimps, but not at lunch. The plates were cleared right away and water filled. Watching the people file in here, seems like half the landscaping crews come in here, I can see why, all you can eat food for about $11, then back out on the job. It didn't take long to get our fills, as there's no waiting lines, just walk up grab food and eat. I'll say buffets are a time saver if you just need food and get back to whatever you do. This place has become my and my boyfriends go to place when I'm hungry and want some Mongolian bbq on a budget. Legit that is the first thing I go to when I get there because it's my favorite part. You can choose between beef, chicken, and pork during lunch - dinner just adds shrimp as an option. Then they have broccoli, bean sprouts, onion, noodles, garlic, squash and I believe that's it. They also have a sushi section which isn't the best but isn't horrible either. I'll eat a few when I'm there. There's some more basic things - chicken wings, chicken skewers, ceviche, egg drop soup, chow mein and rice. All in all I enjoy there options. As for the service - I've never had an issue. Generally they sit you down, someone gets your drinks and you'll have a few people who rotate around grabbing plates and refilling drinks. During lunch it's much quieter than during dinner. The flavorings on some were very mild and we can't tell the chicken dishes apart in terms of taste (color and texture is different though). Toilet paper everywhere, toilet clogged and the other picture is the toilet paper holder which doesn't show exactly how filthy it is! I told Jessie that we were only paying for 1 meal and she pointed out that it had been 45 minutes since arriving (arrived at 7:06 pm per ticket and it was current 7:49) and felt we had ate plenty in that time. Mind you, 20 - 25 minutes was letting them know about the restroom, hearing Jessie tell my son they were short staffed and couldn't keep the bathrooms clean, my son discussing all these issues with Jessie as well as me discussing all this with her again. Jessie proceeded to tell me to eat at finer restaurants in which I told her not to tell me what to do. I also informed Jessie that she wasn't wearing her mask over her nose which is incorrect and that she shouldn't be reprimanding me to even wear a mask.
