We have eaten here a few times, and I just love it. The staff do a great job cleaning and social distancing. The food is creative and delicious. Try a cocktail and ask for your wait person's favorite dish or app- we loved both recommendations. read more

After searching for great Thai we stumbled upon Kin Dee. We had seen the review in Houstonian and the ratings on Yelp, we thought we'd give it a try. Wow! The food is the real deal with 90% or more being scratch made. We had the Papaya Salad and Signature purple Dumplings to start with an Old Fashioned. The Papaya salad was fresh, crunchy, flavorful with an appropriate amount of spice. The combination makes your mouth water. The Dumplings were like scrumptious comfort food with a kick. it's a 3-part process as Ian our waiter explained. The first step is a tiny bite of a Thai chili pepper followed by a bite of the Dumpling followed with a leaf bite of fresh-crisp Cilantro. The blend is an amazing cacophony of flavors that made me instantly smile. The Old Fashioned was smooth over a large rock and was very well done. Following the appetizers we had Pad Thai, which comes wrapped in an egg crepe'. The egg noodles were scrumptious and perfectly prepared, the egg crepe was soft, firm and flavorful and the chicken was lean and juicy. To top all of the amazing flavors off, the service is off the charts attentive. Ian, with at least 4 other service personnel stopped by our table several times asking if the meal was to our liking and asking if there is anything else they could do for us. Gourmet Thai cuisine, in a new theme restaurant with arguably one of the best service teams in Houston. We will absolutely be back again and again and again! read more

Really amazing food for the price. I went with my dad and we both really enjoyed it. The restaurant was very modern and very well designed. There was even live music the night we went. read more

Delicious and interesting take on Thai food... had the dumplings, pad Thai and green curry... super flavorful !

This place has a great vibe going on when you go in and you would think from that there will be great service. SPECIALLY since it's some what needs, they're food was good. They're sticky mango rice good too but I was there with a couple more people and the weight le was not the best. He literally na we gave ya water after asking him previous times and we ended up being the last party there because he just didn't check on us as often as you he should of. He even brought some of our order out late as heck. So again food good but the service was not great at all. read more

All around 5 stars! Fantastic date night or night out with friends. Amazing ambiance, live music that was on fire, really talented singer. Food was delicious and service was on point! Will be back! read more

They outdoor seating. But food is not authentic or delicious. I liked their spicy salmon which is different from usual Thai restaurants. Otherwise, pad see ew was horrible. Also papaya salad not good. The red barbecue pork was disgusting! Nice ambiance and good drinks. Nice waitress too. However, Will not be coming back. read more

Excellent service and solid food. I tried the panang curry and drunken noodles. This is by no means the best Thai I've ever eaten, but the atmosphere and service made up for it, and it was good. read more

Just came here on a whim, so glad I did! The pad Thai was amazing, it's wrapped in an omelet?! Whattttt! Hands down the best I've had! Super cute restaurant, great service, we will be back! Oh and to top it all off, of course the drinks were delicious! read more

I would love to give this restaurant a 5 stars, as that is how I felt the last time I came, however I was highly disappointed this last time. There was so much noise, almost having to yell across the table to speak to one another. The drinks and food were good, not as high quality as before, however the desserts were extremely over cooked and tasted hard (the mango sticky pudding) and this is one of my favorite desserts ever but just was not good. Finally, at the table next to us a lady had her recreational dog (not a service dog as it needs to have a clear vest to represent this) just sitting on her lap and we felt this was highly unsanitary and gross of the restaurant to allow this. I hope this was a one time issue with this visit, however very sad coming here again. read more

During the deep freeze a year ago when Houston was shut down, these guys stayed open and fed a bunch of cold and hungry Houstonians when pretty much every other place we went to turned us away. Maybe it was the situation, but it was the best Thai food I ever had and through that experience, they have a customer for life. read more

was excited about a thai place near walking distance from my house but then put off by the $18 price tag for a simple pad thai. then friends went for HRW and said dishes were beautiful but totally bland. today, thought HH menu was a bit pricey but worth the short walk to get a couple of drinks plus a quick bite. Well, service was rude when you walk in (person behind the bar which was right inside entrance ignored me until I signaled and then told me to go around the corner for service). Then was told no HH bec they want you to pay $45 for full HRW 3 course meal. last straw, had great drinks and meal at Heights Biergarten (which has reopened - yea) and waiting to see how long this overpriced place lasts and looking forward to more Heights-friendly neighborhood. In the meantime, suggest Heights people to take a short drive down to Rim Tanon for some awesome Thai food with alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices. read more

A step above. The waitstaff is helpful, friendly, and best of all attentive. The manager, Hung, spent time with us making sure we were happy and even made an effort to get to know our family. We just moved to Houston and we will keep Kin Dee on our short list of restaurants we will visit over and over. *Tip* make a reservation to ensure seating inside on weekends ans authentic Thai dancers every Tuesday. read more

Very aesthetically pleasing. Loved the flatware. Very loud (lunch). Food was ok. I ordered wrong, within my party, and was very disappointed. We agreed all the meat was low quality (chewy) with exception of the shrimp. Lunch menu wasn't very diverse and a little $$$. Very trendy and good location, though! read more

The food and service was fantastic! This was the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand!

FOOD was great last two times, showed up to an empty restaurant Labor Day, tried to stick us by a wall, we wanted a window, lots of empty window tables, Mgr had a very uppity attitude, when their business falls off maybe they will be more accommodating, WE LEFT , too many great places to eat in Houston read more

Giving two stars just for the attempt to make things right. I hate to do this but I suffered the most awkward dining experience here. I came Friday excited to indulge in the HH as I've heard amazing things. Upon arrival I notice most staff is crowded around the bar eating or drinking no problem because it's slow & I assume my server will just be able to give us great service as we are maybe 1 of 4 tables. As soon as we sit it's an immediate "can I take yalls order" I've never been here I was expecting maybe time or explanation or menu or suggestions. Nonetheless she seems sweet overall. I asked for more time which I didn't know would mean 15+ mins to order I'm sitting patiently as my server continuously talks to another server I assume off the clock for the night just laughing, locking arms, hugging. She finally comes to take the order & the server off the clock in uniform literally sits at the table next of us eating and drinking beer getting up and dancing and talking to our server. When we get our food she had swapped the protein choices in me & my boyfriends food. I immediately send mine back bc unfortunately I was looking forward to shrimp my boyfriend attempts to suck it up to not be difficult. He ends up trying it & tells me he just really would prefer his protein choice originally. I let her know this & she seems shocked & Infront of my face I guess complains that we sent it back to the same coworker that was just eating next to us to which she replies "that's so messed up!" Which makes me feel awkward & uncomfortable even though it was not our mistake. At this point I feel so awkward I opt into speaking to their on duty manager bc I honestly want to pack our food to go & leave. She immediately grabs my hand physically holds it while walking to our table & sits next to me as she proceeds to go on about how our server had such a hard night & she's so sweet & it was an awful shift for her which makes me feel even more uncomfortable as I'm just sitting there listening. She does take off the mistaken entrees and I close out as fast as I can so I can eat & leave this experience. Our server never once dropped by again not even to fill our waters or clear plates I watched as she just took off her apron and joined her coworkers at the bar. I have heard SUCH good things about this place but I have never been in such an unprofessional and awkward environment before. I hope they learn to handle things more professionally in the future. I still tipped her on the original amount so she knew I understand mistakes do happen so to not even get a water refill or maybe an apology just made me feel like I should feel in the wrong. Nobody should feel this uncomfortable during a dining experience! read more

This place has my favorite Tom Kah soup in Houston! It's fresh, soul warming, and can be made vegan (yay). I suggest subbing the rice for egg noodles. I've been to Kin Dee a handful of times and the quality has been perfectly consistent. They've earned their place as my favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. read more

Really delicious Thai food in both taste and presentation. Great atmosphere dining in!

Bad Managment We had 645 reservations Showed up and no one at hostess stand Two groups in front of us with multiple behind us No one to help for several minutes We are seated outside and then ignored Waiter finally came by and we ordered cocktails and appetizer 5 item platter and flower dumpling Appetizers came before drinks My date ordered the lychee/pear martini with extra lychee and pear When the drink arrived it had no pear and only one lychee I ordered an old fashion with rye whiskey and they used fireball Not an old fashion While we were eating our large appetizer order, waiter kept asking if we wanted to order more food Must have asked 3-4 times Then when we did not order second round, he was persistent that we should Appears to be more concerned running up tab than our experience Even so, did tip 18% (lowest machine setting) bc trying to help out Food was good but not enough for me to overlook staffing issues There is food at Thai buffets that is as good, with better service read more

Came here because of the famous purple flower dumplings, I was hoping for a good experience. The service was mixed. The first waiter seemed impatient when we asked too much about the menu. When we said we want to order the dumpling and mango sticky rice , he was shock lol. He took off immediately without letting us order entree. The food came out quick, but not the waiter. He never came back to check on us. We ended up calling another one (Nick) who was serving the next table and he was very nice taking care of the rest of our order. The first guy later showed up, already changed to his normal clothes and checked on the next table, but did not bother to check back to us. What an impolite gesture. We wondered whether he is the manager, if yes, sorry you ruined your restaurant's image. The food was another disappointing. The dumplings were pretty but too sweet to be an appetizer (I actually watched a Thai cook making this dish with ground meat as filling). Grilled pork skewer was okay, but its sauce was too bland. Thai omelette with crab meat and rice was a huge disappointment: too little egg, no taste of crab, all was covered in a thick oily wrap, too crunchy that it broke down into tiny pieces all over the table. Mango sticky rice may be the best thing of the day. Not too sweet, full of pandan scent and mixed well with coconut milk. We may come back for the dessert only. read more
