Boy oh boy. Kin Dee is always a guaranteed delicious experience. We started with a butterfly pea tea and a butterfly pea margarita which was not too sweet and absolutely refreshing. Next, we shared the Thai Papaya Salad with a mild level of spice. I'd say it was more of a medium level. The salad was crunchy and fresh with a tangy dressing. The salad had little bits of very powerful dried shrimp in it - which weren't for me, but I think it's a personal dislike for super fishy tasting things (but I do love shrimp). The panang curry was super flavorful. We added vegetables to it (+$2) which was worth it. I got the Northern Style Curry and holy moly. This is the kinda dish you want to eat when you're by yourself so you can slop up all the deliciousness in private - it's that good. It's spicy, it's tangy, it's salty *chefs kiss*. Our waitress was Kierra (perhaps, Kiara?). She was friendly and made helpful suggestions. She made us feel welcome and we could tell she enjoys working there. I've been to Kin Dee a couple of times and I've gotta say, it's always very clean. It's decorated nicely and gives a formal dining vibe. Love this place and would highly recommend it. read more

This place just made me happy. It has a sunny, casual yet royal ambience, colorful martinis, pretty plates, and top-tier service. It wasn't just about aesthetics, however. The Thai dumplings were exquisite, reminiscent of the Filipino fresh "lumpia" in the form of edible purple flowers. We also ordered the stir-fried glass noodles, pork skewers (succulent!), and the lump crab meat fried rice. Everything was seasoned just right, not overpoweringly sweet or spicy as some Thai restaurants make their food. Our server Gem was a true gem, so attentive and knowledgeable about which dishes and sides complement each other nicely. On a burning hot June summer day in Houston, the vibe in Kin Dee transports you to a cool, exotic paradise in the heights. I shall return! read more

Kin Dee has consistently amazing food, a great atmosphere, and friendly waitstaff! Almost every time I go out for dinner I pick Kin Dee. They always have something fun going on: live music, a DJ, traditional Thai dancers, etc. This is definitely the type of restaurant you'd want to go with a group of girl friends to! The food is AMAZING. I recommend the money bags and the Thai basil chicken! Be careful when you ask for it spicy, they don't hold back! Pro tip: Ask for mild spice but for them to bring the side of three different spices so you can add it yourself! read more

First time here and the food was amazing. One slight issue with the temperature of one of our dishes, but not a deal breaker. The live music was progressive and jazzy. One man show! Our waitress Kiara was great and very attentive! Watch out for the red chili's! They are deadly! Great place for date night. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Kin Dee for a date night, and we were generally pleased overall. I wouldn't say this is the best Thai food in town, but it wasn't a poor experience. Food: We got the glass noodle salad with lump crab as well as the mango with sticky rice for dessert. Neither of these were exceptional, both pretty average. Drinks: I got the perfect dirty martini - made exactly the way I like. Service: Excellent! We were taken care of very well the entire time. Ambience: Might be the best part of this place; very cute vibes and perfect for a date night. There was a live cover artist performing all evening which added a special touch to our night. read more

The food was amazing! I had the fried rice. The server Tracy was so nice! When you go, ask for Tracy. The ambiance was perfect with a DJ that played good music. Parking was great too! read more

Definitely a trendy location. Kind service but very loud inside on a weekend so it was difficult to have a conversation with the people across from me. Food was beyond mediocre for the up-charged price point unfortunately. It was neither authentic nor good. I could get better authentic Thai food at any hole in the wall. Overall, I was really disappointed as I've been looking forward to trying Kin Dee for a long time & will not be returning. read more

Leaving therapy in need of food! I was going to stop at my good ole faithful Flower Child but instead I thought I'd try something different! I was in for a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, I had curry (spicy) and an appetizer (money bags). The food was responsibly priced and the atmosphere was nice. I sat outside on the patio there was hardly anyone in or outside the restaurant. My waiter was attentive and nice. Parking was simple and plentiful. Let's see how long that lasts lol. A good lunch spot. read more

Tried this place out two weeks after it opened, so keep in mind it was during phase 3 COVID reopening and they are probably still working out the kinks. The food here is great and quite different from the casual thai takeout you see. We tried the sampler platter and the flower dumplings. We were hoping we could sub out one or two of the sampler platter options for the flower dumplings but sadly could not. We wanted to try the purple dumplings but knew it wouldn't fill us up, bit the bullet and got both. Skip the sampler platter. The chicken satay and skewers are ok. Money bags and golden baskets are sooo tiny and not worth. The flowers dumplings are so pretty and delicious. Super moist and savory flavor (I think it was almost peanuty). The sampler did come with a variety of sauces though which was cool. The atmosphere of this place is weird. It's brightly lit and feels like casual dining. We did make a reservation though and the prices add up if you do apps, drinks and entrees. Also it was FREEZING in here, my whole table agreed. The entrees were all tasty and unique. My southern curry was yummy and they give white and dark meat options. The pad Thai is super unique as well, wrapped in an omelette. Only two small things but I'm sure they'll get worked out. First was the speed of the orders coming out. One person at our table didn't get a drink till much later. Same with food, one person was left without an entree for quite a while. Awkward when everyone is hungry and wanting to eat but don't want to be rude. The other was just a personal preference. All the other places I've been have been doing paper menus and disposable silverware. But I get it, nice place and nice presentation make a difference for a new restaurant. Our waitress Sumalee was awesome! I would definitely come back here for something like a date night. read more

I've always wanted to try this place out, mainly due to the flower dumplings but they were a disappointment especially for the high price tag. Def not worth it at all! The other dishes and drinks however were good such as the Pad Thai and Tiger Cry Beef. The Panang Curry was OK as well but the presentation and portion was weirdly plate because it was not in a bowl so you could not get all the soup. I came here because I wanted some traditional Thai dishes such as the fried fish but they did not have .. seems like their menu is a bit limited and only has the basics but does not have most items like other Thai restaurants. read more

The food was good. However, the noodles were excessively greasy. We ended up ordering the pad kee mao. The server was nice however, it was hard for me to understand his communication. The place has nice decor and definitely cute for a date spot or a night out with family. Probably will give the direction to kitchen to make food less oily. Next time and people in our party got sick because of the excessive oil. Apart from that decent place for Thai in that part of town. read more

I was craving some noodles for a late dinner after a delayed flight back to Houston. I did a bit of searching on Yelp for the perfect restaurant to alleviate my craving and saw Kin Dee had great reviews plus was on the route back to my house. I reviewed their menu and ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken at medium spice, which is generally my go to. From the looks of it, it was going to definitely hit the spot...a little pricier than usual at $14.95. Ordering over the phone was smooth and the meal was prepared quickly. I was notified over text when it was complete and when I arrived ~20 minutes later, I picked it up and went home. Unfortunately, the meal wasn't very flavorful and I didn't taste any spice. It was just like eating oily noodles and a few vegetables with very little chicken involved. So I was disappointed but I am willing to give them another chance. read more

Been here twice and can say it's my new favorite Thai place in Houston,l. Very authentic vibe on the staff and food part. Love how fresh everything is. The patio might feel like the wrong place to sit due to traffic but you acclimate quickly and traffic is slow anyway, you hardly notice it after the first few minutes. Let's discuss the food: Butterfly pea dumplings - woweeeeee. Eat them with the cilantro and chillies as recommended, they're good alone but wow with the accoutrement they give you it's even better. Pad Thai - best in town, get the combo Basil chicken wowwwwweeee Tom yum amazing Tom yum COCKTAIL, wow! Just make sure you tear up your kaffir lime leaf to elevate the experience when you get it. It's amazing. The all in one appetizer was wow Fried rice - amazing All in all Houston's newest Thai spot is its best. Compliments to the chef and their amazing staff read more

Such good food!! Loved everything I tried here. Highly recommend the Thai flower dumplings. FYI - they look a lot smaller in person than in photos so expect a really light bite when ordering. The crab omelette was so crispy and tasty! Really unique and so delicious. The Thai basil chicken was also great, just really spicy for a medium spice level (just be cautious if you can't handle spice). The dishes and silverware were so cute too! Make a reservation if possible, the hostess was weird when we came in and at first only let us sit at the bar or on the patio. Then suddenly offered an open table when we were hesitant... read more

Very modern and stylish Thai restaurant with great service and attentive staff. The dishes and silverware was really nice and unique... we wanted to take some dishes home! Parking lot was nice and convenient. Appetizers were great and very authentic and original... we had the Thai Flower Dumplings (never seen this before at any Thai restaurant) and the Golden Basket... both very delicious. Cocktails were strong and creative (a bit expensive for a Thai restaurant) For entrees we had the Green Curry which was a very small portion and wasn't spicy enough when i asked for 4 out of 5 level spiciness. The curry taste was good and they offered different options for noodles to go along with the dish. 2nd entree was the Thai Boat Noodle Soup which was pretty good but was also a small portion of protein and lots of noodles. Desert we had the Toasted Pandan Cream which was something new for me and have never seen it at a Thai restaurant... it was a sweet cream with an asian flavor spread on toasted bread... the bread was just a simple sliced bread and could have been improved with something more presentable and more unique bread choice. Overall I would go back to try other dishes and support this new business as I know the owner :-) read more

Love me some pad thai and it didn't disappoint! It was absolutely delicious and served in a beautiful dish. We also ordered the flower dumplings and they were as scrumptious as they were pretty. Definitely my favorite dish and a must if you make a visit. The drinks were super good too. The purple rain was refreshing and not too boozy. The melonic was served beautifully but a little too strong for my taste. The mango mai thai was my favorite! Made me feel like I was in a tropical vacation and a perfect substitute for dessert I do wish we would have had more prompt service as our drink orders would take some time to get back but over all I would definitely be back for more! read more

Let me just start off saying...I have found my new favorite restaurant. This is HANDS DOWN the best restaurant I have been to in the four years I've lived in Houston. My boyfriend and I decided to do drinks and share a bunch of appetizers since it was our first time in (they've only been open a few weeks) and everything on the menu sounded so good. They had a virtual menu and I really liked how you could see pictures of everything before ordering. For our first round, we ended up ordering the Chicken Satay, Salmon Sashimi, Shrimp Rolls and the Flower Dumplings (at our waiters suggestion). Also I got a drink that came in a pineapple bigger than my head, and that is when I knew this place was going to steal my heart. Everything was freaking delicious, with the star of the show being the Flower Dumplings...beautiful and soooo good. We couldn't get enough and ended up ordering two more drinks, the Money Bags, Papaya Salad, Mini Salad cups and Pork Belly Skewers. The mini salad cups and papaya salad were SPICY and delicious. I also really liked the money bags (and they were so cute). Also one of the owners approached our table several times to make sure everything was good and to tell us a little backstory and some of the items on the menu and how they came up with it. All in all, I am definitely making this my new go-to spot. It's perfect for cocktails with the girls and a few apps or to absolutely stuff yourself with great food. 100% love this place. read more

I went to Kin Dee and the experience was just great!! Arrived at 5:00 pm and there was some people in line waiting for them to open! - space and noise: they have a descent space between tables so it's perfect to have a private conversation and now during COVID times. The rest is a close space so basically the noise comes from the music playing (low volume) and people around. In any case noise level is good so you can actually talk at normal volume. - service: good, almost never had to ask for them (just at the end for water)! They were always there. - Food: I ordered Htx Rest week menu and that was no mistake!! Food was good and a lot!!! Ps: let them know in advance how spicy do u want your food... - Drinks: ok, I tried this Saneh Jan and it was AMAZING and REFRESHING. They also have a great white wine from aperture that basically paired with everything! SUPER RECOMMEND read more

Very cute place; kind of small and really busy. Make sure you make a reservation before heading over. Came here for HRW. The interior was very modern clean and tables where kept 6ft apart. For appetizers we ordered the golden basket and papaya salad (spicy). The papaya salad was amazing - tangy and spicy just the way I like it. It was almost too spicy but it was so difficult to stop eating it. The golden basket was very good. Nice crispy shell filled with fried chicken and sweet peas. Second course, we ordered the chicken satay and the grilled pork belly skewers. The chicken satay was nicely cooked. I feel like the relish could have been fresher. It tasted a little mushy. The pork belly was so tender and it melts in you mouth. For the main course we ordered the spicy pork sauce noodle soup and the red BBQ dry noodles. The spicy pork noodles were great but the meat was a little dry. The red BBQ dry noodles was a nice change from something hot a soupy but it was a little sweet for me. For dessert, we ordered the mango sticky rice and the Thai toast with pandan cream. They mango sticky rice was somewhat disappointing for an authentic Thai place--the sticky rice was a very dry. The coconut sauce was thin and not as creamy as it could have been. The Thai toast was just sliced bread drizzled with pandan cream. Nothing memorable. Overall the food was average. Although almost all the dishes had amazing presentation. Could possibly return for another try. read more

SO GOOD! We tried takeout from Kin Dee, and I now want to go back and try the rest of their menu. Very impressed with everything we ordered. We tried the crab fried rice, pad see ew, northern thai curry and shrimp pad thai, and each dish was excellent--the crab fried rice was probably my favorite, just because it was so flavorful and unique. Curbside takeout service was easy, as was online ordering on Kin Dee's website. Just note that they don't allow takeout of their dumplings. read more
