I came too late in the day and Kim's was sold out of my favorite apple fritter, but I was treated to a fresh variety including an apple-filled bear claw. While waiting for the library to open we needed something to do. We decided to get donuts! Within walking distance from the library is Kim's donut. We were greeted by such a friendly smile and kind words. My children were treated so nicely by the owner and were able to sample the donut holes (which they said were delicious). We ordered a dozen assorted donuts and there were plenty to choose from. The donuts are soft, fluffy, fresh and delicious. They're not overly sweet, and they're really large portions. Since this is my first time here I decided to try the glazed and apple fritter. She gave me a blueberry to try as well. The glazed is light and fluffy. I love donuts, and it's hard for me to ever pass one up, my belly will attest to that. So I was surprised when I had a hard time finishing the maple bar and donut holes I bought at this place. They tasted like burnt oil, with a crispy outer layer, and hollow inside. They left an oily film in my mouth that even coffee couldn't get out. I don't see what the fuss is about. I might have caught them on a bad day, between changing out the oil or something, because they have several good reviews and other donuts looked good, but I don't think I'll be going back to try them. read more

The blueberry filled was especially delicious, they cut it in half to fill it, so it was absolutely oozing with blueberry goodness. I am so happy my husband and I found this place! I am NOT a Camarillo band wagon fan of rolling pin, I find it so overrated, so my search to find a good donut out here had been on for awhile.
