Stopped by on a week day morning, it was quiet inside. I ordered the Pretzel Croissants & a s'mores bar. The pretzel croissant was exactly what I wanted- salty, soft and flakey; a pretzel in croissant form. Wow.. don't skip the S'mores Bar. The chocolate layer is soft, with marshmallows still soft/fresh as if they just came out the bag. It's a perfect sweet treat pick me up without being overly sweet. Talk about taking care of their customers, Robyn Lee the Owner, you're a Rock Star and your employees are helpful and friendly too!!! This bakery in Thousand Oaks went out of the way to make sure my favorite cookies were available for me to pick up and enjoy!!! I absolutely love this bakery's Peanut Butter Cookies. In my opinion, they have set the bar on that and this is the standard I use for comparison. I'm visiting from NorCal and this is a must visit, so many delicious looking pastries, sandwiches and other choices to choose from and a great place for breakfast and lunch. A first time with their carrot cake and it was delicious. Highly recommend!!! FYI, the carrot cake was much better presented but I got hungry and started eating it and realized I didn't take a photo of it. So, what you see is what was left.

This place is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk into their bakery, I am welcomed and the atmosphere is so homie. My go to drink is there blueberry lavender matcha which is an absolute 10 out of 10. Most of the time I just like to go there because of how amazing the staff is and how welcoming the owners are. This place will forever be my go-to in TO.

I don't usually come to this area, so I came across this cafe. This cafe is small, but the service was excellent. The latte and Cinnamon croissant were good. The Cinnamon croissant is a croissant, so it might taste slightly different if you imagine a cinnamon roll. There are Inside and outside tables. Parking is in front of the cafe.

Pretty good coffee, really good food! Here's a picture of the savory sandwich we ordered and look at the size of that avocado! It's probably a little bit pricier, but it's good to see that they don't skimp out! Good ambiance inside too! Also, the owner talked me into ordering a Cubano instead of a Cortado and I think that was a very good move! It's basically a shot of espresso, but with sugar in the coffee grounds before the shot is pulled.

This review is long overdue. I went to this café several weeks ago and I'm going through my pictures now and I forgot to post my review. I must say a double chocolate muffin delicious. I think I found my new café to come and get those and the spinach kale croissant oh my God there's no words it's so good and the almond croissant the feeling is so good and sweet when you have a sweet tooth this is one thing that you must try also there lavender latte it was very good. It smells like lavender and something that one must try when coming here. The surface exuded an incredible quality that captivated the eye. The man exhibited an outstanding level of helpfulness, displaying not only kindness but also a warm and inviting demeanor that made me feel right at home.

Italian Croissant

Stayed the night for a concert and hit Historia Bakery Cafe for breakfast before heading back home. Everything about our visit was outstanding. We both had the Italian Croissant. Roasted tomatoes & pesto on a perfectly baked flaky croissant, topped with a poached egg. Fan-freakin'-tastic! Our mochas were hot creamy chocolatetly deliciousness. Super great owners. We'll definitely be back when passing though.

Slow service but its a genuine and kind interaction. A bit cold inside and an odd array of seating, but they do hold chess tournaments and a few of the tables are chess tables! Could use some musical ambiance as it was very quiet today. And the food? Fantastic, worth the wait, and delicious. Including pastries, sandwiches, and drinks! Their cheesecakes are to die for, you have to try them.

Great cute little spot for breakfast/ lunch! I came in with a friend and we really enjoyed the experience and service. I had the pretzel croissant sandwich and the bread was light and crispy and tasted great in a sandwich. I ordered the raspberry rose latte and I was unsure if I was going to enjoy it because of the raspberry flavor but I sure enough did. The latte was very much on the sweeter side but one of the workers was so sweet and asked if my drink was okay and if I needed to make any modifications and she helped make it to my taste. Overall had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back to try the delicious pastries.

Expresso with very little ice and hella stingy with the oatmilk.

When in this morning for an expresso over ice with oatmilk. No greeting , no service with a smile. The male individual that took my order was expressionless and cold. I specifically asked if my drink was going to come in a large cup, he replied "yes". Came over and said here you go, was totally unexpressionless/cold. My drink did not come in a large cup instead came in a small/medium cup with very little ice and very little oatmilk. With 3 shots of expresso a larger cup is going to be required, not to mention ICE when expresso is hot. My drink looked like the Yoohoo kids drink and was very warm. Lame employees. Ambiance: cold Service: cold Drink: Luke warm Taste: dish water Wish: wish my drink was as cold as the staff Communication between the one taking the order and the one making the drink: none I will definitely never give this business my money ever again!

Well good morning to ME!!

I found the atmosphere to be so inviting, warm and modern with plenty of seating and a really nice outside patio. I would also mention that's it's so nice not to lumped in the middle of a strip mall like, ' Longevity in TO & Ragamuffin in Newbury Park' . I love the design of the interior! I have been to a ton of coffee locations in the area, ( Westlake, TO, Newbury Park, Oxnard, Ventura , Santa Barbara, Malibu) and this Cafe Ficelle location is up there with the best of them. Yes the parking is not perfect- but....the service I found on my, 'so far 5 visits' has been excellent and my ' cappuccinos' have been perfectly made and tasted superb. I also had a Tri Tip sandwich which I also found to be really tasty. I am a fan and would encourage you to give it a shot and look past the 3.7 stars on Yelp- I hope this location makes it as the Pizza place that was next to it didn't.

Crusty, toasted baguette, tender tri-tip, and perfectly melted Gruyere. The dipping sauce was rich and flavorful, a perfect complement. Each sandwich also came with a fresh side salad of arugula and goat cheese. The croissants were very good. We arrived close to closing, so the pastries may not have been at peak freshness. I would recommend enjoying them earlier in the day, ideally with coffee or tea. Since we were sharing, our server sliced each croissant in three pieces. Thank you! The cafe itself is charming, with warm dark wood, cozy seating, and a fireplace that adds to the ambiance. Indoor temperature was a bit cool during our visit, but still a pleasant environment, and there is outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly and service was quick. One small note: it would help if the staff had a better grasp of the menu and felt more confident describing it. The food speaks for itself and is worth highlighting. Parking was close and easy, and I especially enjoyed the light jazz playing in the background, including standards sung beautifully by Ella Fitzgerald. P.S. I always forget to snap photos. The sandwich was Insta-worthy.

I really hate to do this but our experience was really disappointing…read more I was looking around for local bake shops & bakers, other than the popular Bundt or Arleens, because we wanted something special for my friends birthday. I found Cake and Love, saw the reviews and thought "why not?" I love supporting local small businesses. I knew the designs weren't up to par compared to other places, however I read that the cakes tasted really good. My friend Marc ordered them and requested 4 cupcakes but the owner said she could only do a dozen. The design requested for the cupcakes was to write the name on 4 and the rest with birthday + Halloween designs. And he ordered four different flavors. She had a week to prepare and offered to drop them off. Not only was she an hour late, but she practically rushed off without giving us a chance to look at the cupcakes to check them. You can only imagine our disappointment when we opened the box. It looked absolutely terrible, rushed and as if a child decorated these. These cupcakes were for an adult. The taste was just ok too. The chocolate cakes were mushy, the red velvet were dry and the other two were 'eh.' It was too late to find something else so we sucked it up and used them to sing happy birthday anyway. Regardless if there was any mis-communication, this is not acceptable. And I feel that we deserve a refund.

The service was great as well, they were friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. suggested I definitely I ended up picking up a chocolate and hazelnut cake with an incredibly soft, spongy interior that was perfectly balanced and rich without being overwhelming. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. It was so rich and decadent that I had to slow myself down just to fully enjoy every bite. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully made, and worth the drive. I'd absolutely come back again.

The transaction went well. When we got home, we ate the goodies. The trilogia was fresh and had great flavor. The red velvet, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. The cake part was dry, and the frosting was dense and had little flavor. Maybe I just ended up getting an older one, but at $8.25, I had expected a much better item. The service was great, but as a red velvet lover, the flavor was not as expected. I would potentially try again but would sample some other treats.
