We ordered the short rib plate and the Tasilog plate and lumpia Shanghai- washed it down with Calamansi juice. Everything was delicious, 10/10. The owner came out to check on us and she was so kind, hospitable and shared some history with us on how Lola Betty's came to be. From food truck to walk up, she said that some people really preferred or hoped for a sit down restaurant. I don't have a preference. I only love the soul and passion that is poured into one's food. Love, soul and passion can be found here. The owner says, "I just really wanted a place where you can really be attentive and really take the time to cook the food the way it should be made". I can tell that she loves what she does and she thanked us for trying their food. I wanted to thank HER for feeding us! If I forgot to thank her, here it is. Once you step inside the store, the old photographs that evoke Mister Softee's history and the classic interior will make you feel as if you've traveled back in time. Looking at the photos displayed in the store, you can see that the truck was used in a scene from the movie, and that Mister Softee has been loved by many for a long time. Isn't it wonderful that parents and children can enjoy the same taste together for many years?
