I enjoyed my week stay here, it is a good location and since I was there for business I didn't have a chance to check out the pool or other accommodations. The room was clean and comfortable. I am rating it four because there are in serious need of updating their lobby furniture because it is dated and worn.

Still a go to spot for me! The rooms are showing their age a bit...but it adds to the charm, for me-I love a cozy boutique hotel, over a large chain. Service is still top notch-bottle of wine in our room and at check in (as we missed the happy hour by maybe 10 minutes.) Bellhop service, front desk, and room service are all friendly and super helpful. They had extended events going on for the holidays-it was fun to try different drinks and chat with people. Had both a great beach day Saturday (wonderful service, I wish I could remember their names!) as well as a pool day Sunday. Even got an upgrade to a free daybed (I think it's because my husband is so cute ) Super dog friendly-Jack Jack even had his own amenities at check in and was happy to show off all his tricks (fist pump was popular.) We will be back!

Nice pool with Dj In the afternoon. Clean and great customer service. Derek was a great entertainment guide in the afternoon! Wish the showers had doors on them.

Beautiful place but questionable service. Also we paid for a cabana until 6pm and at 4pm they told us we had to leave for a special event. then they said we could stay but we had to move. By the time we packed up we decided to leave. Food took almost 2 hours to come and was just ok. Calamari was from a frozen box and lollipop wings were decent. drinks were good and the pool was nice. probably would go somewhere else next time.

The Kimpton Surfcomber is a intimate and service oriented small hotel on Collins Ave. Located amongst all the activity , restaurants/bars/stores, the Kimpton provides tranquility and fun before you go back out to adventure Service without attitude was everywhere as the hotel staff clearly know how to treat guests. We ate in the downstairs restaurant for breakfast once and it was very good. Pool area is beautiful with massage areas tucked away off the pool , a bar, lounging area and Yoga area. All the way at the back of the property is direct access to the beautiful beaches of Miami No doubt I would book another stay at Kimpton Surfcomber - I hope you enjoy it as much as we did

My friend and I stayed here for the weekend earlier this December. Definitely make sure that all members of your party are on the reservation as they won't let you check in or use any of the hotel facilities like the pool or beach. I arrived a few hours before my friend, and I wanted to lie out by the pool, but the manager refused to let me check in, so I had to buy a day pass through resort pass in order to use the pool. While it was a bit of a rough start to the weekend, I really enjoyed the pool experience. Escaping the cold, New Jersey weather and lying out in the breezy yet sunny Miami weather was a dream. When my friend arrived, we headed up to the room to prepare for dinner. Our room was clean, modern, and airy. They had a mini bar with lots of good wines and lots of snacks in case you don't feel like leaving the room. You can stream your device to the smart TV as well as check out through the TV. The bathroom was small, but clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Air-conditioning worked well and I wore the robe to even wore the robe to stay warm! The hotel has a fantastic location in South Beach. It's walking distance to Lincoln Road, a Walgreens, and lots of restaurants in little shops along Collins Avenue. We felt safe walking around, but as always, be aware of your surroundings. Inside the hotel, there's a restaurant and they have coffee, hot chocolate, and wine in the lobby at certain times in the day. The grounds are beautiful and great for strolling around. The pool and beach areas are really nice. To check into the pool, you have to make sure you're wearing your bracelet of the day and you go to the stand and pick up your towels. The staff will set it up for you and someone is usually taking food and drink orders while you enjoy yourself. Things are definitely expensive on the menu, but the quality and service is good and you get what you pay for! For the beach, it's the same. You walk up to the hut, and they set up your lounge chair for you. The ocean was beautiful and the weather was perfect so we had a really wonderful time on our beach day. They also bring food and drink to you at the beach and they can either charge your hotel room or you can pay cash. Sleep quality was pretty good. I always travel with a white noise machine as there's usually a lot of noise or unfamiliar sounds at a hotel. If I was in the area again, I wouldn't mind staying here again!

I've stayed at several Kimpton hotels and this one by far was the biggest disappointment. I flew into Miami for work but it was also my partners birthday so I brought them with me so they could enjoy this beautiful city. However, the Kimpon defenitly let us down and if I would of known the experience and room I would have recieved, I defenitly would of stayed elsewhere. I've honestly stayed at Hilton and marriot hotels that are way nicer then this resort. I stayed here in March of 2024 and it's a really outdated hotel. This place defenitly needs a revamp. The resort grounds itself are very nice and the beach access is convenient. Good location in south beach. As a Platinum member, I tried checking at noon. They informed me my premium room with city view would be available soon. I waited till about 2pm and inquired again about my room, the front desk stated they couldn't get ahold of housekeeping so to wait a little more which I had no problem. By 4:20 I still hadn't been notified that my room was ready so when I checked again with the front desk, they stated that my room still wasn't ready but that they are moving me to one that was. I had no issue since I needed to get into a room fast since I had to go to a work meeting shortly. We got up to our accessible room and it was a total let down. To be paying as much as we are and get a room that's all dinged up and dirty is so disappointing. We let the front desk we are unhappy with our room and that our shower was broken and they just apologized and sent up a handy man to fix the shower. The IHG service I'm use to is defenitly not here. I highly reccomend you don't waste your money here like I did. $700 bucks I won't be getting back staying here for two nights. Really dissapointed with my stay and I just hope they can improve this resort. Not fair to their consumers/customers who are paying $300-$400 a night to stay here.

Rooms are small, terrible view, real lack of amenities. Food was average. Pool was good but too hard to get a chair. Several areas looked like outdoor storage from items long ago discarded. $6 for a Coke.

It was good once I was able to get it.

As a self-professed Kimpton junkie, I put a lot of effort into deciding which Miami-area property to stay at on a recent trip. I chose the Surfcomber for its proximity to the beach, and I think that was the best part about this property. There was very little that felt like a Kimpton to me other than seeing the various Kimpton signs throughout the property. The room itself left much to be desired. There was a THICK coat of dust on both end tables, so thick that we could not rub it off easily. The bathroom was, as everyone mentioned, tiny, and the shower was awful. It was hard to adjust the temperature in the shower, and the knob actually came off in my hand the last day. The shower also did not drain, so we had to stand in ankle-deep water every time we showered. There was sand left in it when we were done after we came back from the beach. It was just gross. The blinds did not sufficiently block out the light, so we woke up earlier than planned both nights. There was also nowhere to store anything. This came at the tail of a week-long trip in multiple locations, and I had a full-sized suitcase I had to wedge between the bed and wall. As a Diamond IHG member, I was not offered an upgrade of any sort, and the only amenity I received was "free" breakfast, which was not actually free because it only counted up to $20, which most entrees were more than, and we had to pay tax and tip separately. (Tip was automatically added.) I've never encountered this at Kimpton before, and even stayed at the Ft. Lauderdale property after and the free breakfast was truly ALL IN. The highlight, though, was the beach. It was the beach, after all. Beyond that, it was average, again not Kimpton standard. We rented an umbrella for $25 and used the two "free" beach chairs that came with the huge amenity fee charged nightly by the hotel (which felt a little or a waste as we checked in late the first night and left early the second morning). There was drink service, but it was hard to flag them down. The crew was also extremely quick to take the umbrellas down due to the first gust of wind, which I understand, but they were slower to put them up than every other property along the beach. We didn't use the pool, but it was massively crowded and had a loud DJ when we walked back from the beach. That is probably some people's thing, but this doesn't seem like the "relax and chill" properly if that's what you're looking for. The service was fine. I didn't feel like anyone went beyond the basic standards of care for us. As mentioned, no upgrades based on status were given and no one seemed too concerned when we reported how bad the shower was. Finally, the valet was absurdly slow. It took almost a half hour to get your car, and usually the pull through area in front of the hotel was packed and difficult to navigate. The first time we got our car, we actually had to walk out onto the busy street and get in that way. Not the safest method. All in all, this place only has any good feelings because of its beach location. It definitely does not live up to that Kimpton standard.

We stayed here for a long weekend and overall enjoyed it a ton! The pool, lobby and walkway to the pool were all lovely. Our room was fine- clean and comfortable but no balcony (no rooms had a balcony) and the bathroom was small! It was our 30th Anniversary and the hotel did leave us a card and dessert plate which was thoughtful. We enjoyed the beach chairs - and the pool was perfect after time in the ocean. The morning coffee was delicious as was the evening wine. Parking was expensive but the valet guys were friendly and it is Miami. Best part of this hotel is the location - close to fantastic restaurants and the beach.

My friend and I came to the hotel bar located poolside/beachside for their Havana Nights event. The organizer gave us two free mojitos each with RSVP, which by the way, packed quite a punch! They have a beautiful pool area which leads to a tiki bar patio and sandbar. The gate that encloses it gives way to beach access. The patio has a stage where we listened to a great Cuban band while sipping on our mojitos. It does have a contrast with the polished looking poolside area right next to it, since the tables and chairs are all bare wooden mixed in with picnic tables. The string lights they had up made it cute, like someone's backyard. They have a hammock strung up that was fun to sit in and take pictures with. We thought it would be more of a lounge type of setting and event, considering the caliber of hotel, so we were a bit surprised by the setup. It looked like the people who came out were either hotel guests or older patrons, which explained why we were immediately hit on by a table of guys when we arrived at the bar. The person who appeared to be a manager was welcoming when we checked in for the event, the bartender not so much. I don't think I saw him smile as he made the drinks and presented them to us. He may not have been very excited to be working there. Regardless of the people who work at or patronize the establishment, I saw the hotel facilities are certainly worth a return for, i.e. the pool and beach access point. I'm very much up for going back for a meal here!

Comfy bed and a cool wooden key card.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. It also has some benefits to be a Marriott Bonvoy member which gave us some minor perks with bonus points on spend, complimentary wi-fi, mobile check in along with some property credits which we used for the spa and happy hour at the bar.

However since we paid tripple that price I have to be way more critical. The staff makes it extra special. They were all friendly and had the "I can do it for you attitude." Kudos to the staff. Our "up-graded" room facing half ocean/city was tiny, a tad worn, had a very nice view, and non impressive toiletrees. The worst part of our room was the side of the hotel we were on. Our room was on the industrial exhaust fans side and it was extremely noisy. Had to keep our balcony door closed to drown out the noise. The location of the hotel, as others mentioned is ideal. Now here is the scary part...we got stuck on the elevator two times. It wasn't a long time but enough to scare me especially since I am very claustrophobic. I ended up taking the stairs to the 9th floor the rest of our stay. They did fix the elevator but this happened to quite a few guests and they didn't shut the elevator. Our complimentary breakfast (free with my Marriott status) was not the best. Breakfast is served in the attached Mexican restaurant which is not owned by Marriott. It is not a buffet. Small menu with the basics. Food was fair. We enjoyed the pool and the short walk to the beach. The pool restaurant has the best hotdogs! And we also enjoyed the quinoa salad.

In a world where hospitality can sometimes feel overly scripted or transactional, this property still understands something a lot of brands miss: people remember how you made them feel. The Standard has such a distinct point of view. Stylish without trying too hard. Wellness-forward without becoming preachy. Social without becoming chaotic. The entire property carries this effortless energy that feels very "Miami," but somehow calmer, smarter, and more human. A few standout people made the stay exceptional: Julian at the pool absolutely nailed the vibe. Attentive, warm, intuitive, and somehow always around exactly when needed without ever hovering. That balance is rare. Ms. Wanda at Lido brought such genuine warmth and grace to every interaction. You can feel that she truly cares about hospitality and people, not just service mechanics. Kaylee at Lido was fantastic -- sharp, personable, fun, and the kind of server that elevates the entire experience through personality alone. And Richard at the front desk may honestly be one of the best "brand ambassadors" I've encountered at a hotel in a long time. Helpful, welcoming, and completely set the emotional tone for the property from the moment I arrived. They understood the assignment. Miami has no shortage of luxury hotels, but very few properties feel like they have an actual soul or cultural identity anymore. The Standard still does. We'll absolutely be back.

The rooms have been thoughtfully re-designed, but still have that cold Miami cinder block feel. In other words you won't do more than sleep in them. The pool area is fantastic with a bay view and plenty of chairs. Lido Grill, the main restaurant, is nicely done and people / pet friendly. Service was good, once you got their attention, which was on you, not them...we had the lobster, fairly priced at $39, but was like rubber and inedible. Sides were a throw away. Drinks were very good. Other points, nice mini bar in room, however NO coffee in room and coffee shop doesn't open until 7 AM. A regular room, facing back away from bay, dinner for 2, minor mini bar invasion (2 drinks) valet, was over $1100. Not worth the cost.

High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. Enjoy

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is impeccable, so we expected the same level of luxury and service here. Unfortunately, this location feels run down and poorly managed. The beds literally cave in in the middle, rooms feel outdated, and basic amenities were a struggle. There's nowhere to get ice yourself -- you have to call for it -- except no one ever brought it despite us requesting it multiple times over all 4 days. For a "luxury" hotel, there were also no slippers, no robes, and no 24-hour room service, which was surprising considering the price point and reputation. The full suite, which was the most expensive room we booked, had multiple issues: the shower head was rusted with water barely coming out of several holes, and the refrigerator leaked huge puddles onto the floor. We even encountered very rude interactions with both a poolside employee and a pool restaurant employee. Monday morning, my boyfriend and I wanted to sit in a cabana for literally 10 minutes to eat a bagel and coffee we had purchased from their café because we simply needed shade. The entire pool area was practically empty, yet we were shooed away in a very disrespectful manner. Later, when we went to COTE for lunch, the food and drinks were amazing and our servers were fantastic -- but once again, the front desk staff had a condescending attitude. We were asking what seating was available and discussing options within our group since we wanted a normal sit-down table. After we asked a follow-up question to clarify what wasn't available, the hostess responded with, "Do you want me to show you the tables so you can figure it out?" Meanwhile, the tables, couches, and bar seating were directly in front of us. We were simply trying to understand the wait and seating situation, not asking to be spoken to disrespectfully. What made the experience even worse was management. While discussing concerns at checkout and showing photos/videos, the manager was sitting on her phone while we were speaking to her. I've genuinely never seen someone so unprofessional in a management position at a luxury hotel. On top of that, friends and family tried sending champagne to the suite for the proposal celebration. It became unbelievably difficult. Emails went unanswered, calls weren't returned after multiple attempts, and one person who paid for the champagne had to text us directly asking if we received it -- because the hotel never delivered it. Only after they called again the following day to complain did the champagne finally arrive. Overall, this hotel feels like it stays busy mainly because of conventions and the iconic name, not because of the actual guest experience. The only highlight? The late-night food truck was honestly 10/10.

I asked repeatedly for an early, 2pm check-in. When I go there around 2:15, the front desk area was in chaos. There were 2 people being waited on and I was first in line, but had to wait for ~10 minutes to get any attention. Even with repeated communication, the room was not ready. My kids were heading into melt down mode. Not a great start. I got a call at 2:45 that my room was ready. We headed back around 4 and then it was the same chaos, and very long wait to get our 1 piece of luggage. Once upstairs, the hotel is very neat and tidy and our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, facing the bay and city. The condition and working order of the room, bathroom, and kitchenette were excellent. We loved the minimalist aesthetic. They did have a happy bday card and some chocolates for me in my room - a very nice touch. The main event downstairs is the pool area. They had a DJ playing vibey lounge music and it was packed with people chilling and drinking as mature adults. Definitely not a wild spring break scene. The pool is heated, too. The best is being in the pool as the sun sets - very magical as the place goes from day to night. Great hotel - lousy front desk. I reviewed the restaurant, Baia, separately - great waterfront vibes, so-so food, and disorganized service.

MUSTY room. Disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it…read more I booked a 3-night stay (Sunday-Wednesday... so no partying, all "school nights," and not during any major Miami events like Winter Music Conference, Miami Open, Formula 1, Boat Show, or SoBe Wine & Food Festival). This was a quiet work trip. As someone who grew up in Miami, I always thought of the Mondrian as a solid, above-average hotel. It was reputable, with good hospitality, nice amenities, all that jazz. Well... this stay was disastrous. The room was musty and clearly not properly cleaned. There were countless stains, dust bunnies, scratches and cracks on surfaces, and different hairs in multiple areas of the room. Just overall extremely unpleasant. I genuinely felt uncomfortable staying there. The robe in the closet had several holes (not small. very obvious, literally the first thing you see, and they still hung it up like it was acceptable). The toilet barely flushed, consistent plumbing issues. The bathroom had visible oxidation on the shower head and hose. The ceiling shower head and one of the lightbulbs were broken, and several other lights were dim. Front desk experience? Honestly shocking. I'd expect this level of attention at a low-tier chain, not here. Staff behind the counter were scrolling Instagram Reels or TikTok (with volume) while guests were standing there. Just incredibly careless. After my first night, I went to the front desk and asked if all rooms were this unkept and in such poor condition. They acted surprised. I showed them photos (with the dust, sticky residue on the bathroom floor, hair in multiple places) and they said they'd notify housekeeping to properly clean the room. Well... housekeeping never showed up. Not once during my entire 3-night, 4-day stay. Super disappointing, because this hotel has potential and used to be great. I even overheard another group at breakfast talking about how disappointing their room was and another woman in the elevator also had a similar experience... so clearly not an isolated issue. Valet was also hit or miss. The guys mostly just standing around, sometimes opening the door, sometimes not. No help with luggage when I arrived. Just an overall lack of training, standards, and any real sense of guest experience not just with valet but everyone else. Expect the restaurant staff, they were wonderful. And to be clear, l wasn't in a standard room. I booked a junior suite, and the only redeeming quality was the space (which was not properly used so it felt awkward honestly). Everything else? Terrible. Would absolutely not recommend. The property is in rough shape, and worse... it feels like nobody cares to fix it.
