Loved it! Wow, what a cute place! Very art deco on Washington st. 2 blocks to beach where they provide chairs. Great pool on 2 nd floor outside and a small sunning pool on rooftop with an amazing ocean view! Rooms are small but comfortable and very clean. The entire property is well kept considering its age. Don't forget to check out the skylight in lobby that looks into pool! There is a coffee shop in lobby and Serena restaurant on 2nd floor which was pretty good for lunch. Walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants. Highly recommended! Will be back next time we're in Miami!

Amazing beautiful quaint art deco !! It was in impeccable condition nothing was in disrepair clean both pools were sparkling !! Amazing views from the " Roof" of the ocean and the ski line! In the heart of "south beach" 2 blocks from the beach! 1000% recommendations perfect for pre and post cruise, it's a 15 min ride to port. Can't wait to return!!!

Free coffee and vibes in the morning

Stayed here for one night on an award certificate stay and it was a five star experience. We felt like we had to stay on South Beach if we were coming to Miami and this place was the good mix between South Beach vibe but a little more tucked in and set back. Got in early and the room was not ready but they provided us with access to the amenities and a place to store our luggage. Our room ended up being ready earlier than expected. We also took advantage of the free marg vouchers at night on their second story open air bar which was nice. Coffee in the morning was a nice touch too. Rooms probably run on the smaller side but for two folks traveling it definitely felt like enough space if you make use of the storage underneath the bed and on the walls (no closet). Would I stay in South Beach again? No. But if I had to, would I stay here? Yes, and a yes again.

More fabulous decor

Yesterday we were in South Beach looking at various hotels for a future celebration for when our friends from out of state visit. I want them to get a real feel for the Miami and SoBe vibe. So we picked Moxy as one of our selections to check out. We parked at their entrance between Collins and Washington streets. There was valet parking as well as a private lot. As we walked around the 1st floor, we were wowed with the intriguing decor that spoke volumes of love of surrealist art and artists such as Dali, Magritte and Ernst of the 1920s. I also love that time period of art deco from 1920-1930, and there is plenty of it in South Beach. That's why the Moxy appeals to me. We decided to stay and have lunch at their restaurant on the second floor, the Serena. There is a very inviting pool area on the second floor with a rooftop restaurant, the Serena. You can sit by the pool and order food from the Serena or sit at the bar and eat. We enjoyed our visit and will put Moxy at the top of our list.

If you are staying in Miami and need place to stay that is cute, chic, original, and has everything you could need; definitely stay at the Moxy on South Beach. My friend booked a day pass at this cute Boutique Hotel since we had a late flight but came back from our cruise early morning. Perfect opportunity to hang out in South Beach for a little bit and when I saw this hotel, my mouth hit the floor! This is the exact type of hotel that I love and everything about it was calling my name! From the cute decor inside and the cleanliness to the beautiful rooftop lounge area and all of the mermaids signage, this spoke Ieshia. They have a small store where you can grab some essential items or quick bits to eat, a full chic restaurant that serves an array of dishes, a rooftop lounge area with spectacular views, and a cute pool with full service. I cannot say enough great things about the Moxy South Beach. 10 out of 10 if I am ever in South Beach again and need somewhere to stay, The Moxy is at the top of my list

I had a great time coming here the staff was very friendly and though the rooms are small the experience was very good do keep in mind if you have a car and come here the parking is in the back not the front of the hotel. Overall it was a good experience and they have a down stairs bars and a restaurant at the top where the pool was at which was great so you didn't have to go far to eat or get drinks when your at the pool they also have pool service as well.

Bed bug bites
Sarah W.

There are bed bugs, at least in my hotel room. The manager ASSURED me they've NEVER had them, but I have 30+ bites on my legs & they have yet to call me back in 5 days, or email. I have sent emails and called every single day since Friday... it is now Wednesday. They said they'd get back to me on Sunday. I got my bites tested and they are indeed bed bug bites. Had not stayed anywhere except Moxy. Hopefully now they'll take this seriously. Also be SO mindful.... The room is the size of shoebox. No moving room if you have 2 beds. Update; They just called me back after seeing this review. Says that after me calling on Friday nobody inspected until Monday but they allowed people to stay in the room until then!!!! They initially said they would unoccupy the room until test came back. So whoever stayed in the room after me , was not issued a new room after the hotel hearing about my issue. It is now Wednesday. They say there is no sign of bed bugs. Use the information as you wish. I had stayed nowhere but here upon receiving these bites.

amazing views for the sunset! I went for a event being hosted at the rooftop and they also had a bar and bites available. It was a variety of good drinks to choose from. The bites was made from one of the restaurants on the first floor and was mostly good. The tacos and empanadas were my favorites. It's a nice rooftop that can be relaxing and has a nice view for both sunset and I imagine sunrise as well since it has unobstructed view of the water.

What a unique & fun hotel! Came to Miami for a quick trip to show our 17yr old daughter U of Miami and stayed at South beach for a night! This is a Marriott Boutique hotel. The lobby is Decorated so cute w/blue & White flooring & other 1950's decor while playing top 40 music hits. Great walking distance to beach & restaurants. The individual room we stayed in is small but great use of space. No closets yet they have a wall hanger that I've seen before in ski hotels. The shower had a rainfall shower head and the water pressure was awesome. Never ran out of hot water. There is a rooftop bar that had beautiful views of surrounding area but the staff shooed us away at night saying there was a private event. Mind you we went there different times throughout night and there never was an event going on. I gave this hotel 4 stars because the staff could definitely work on their customer service for sure. It was a bit confusing on the check in process at the front desk and when we would ask questions, the staff acted a bit put off. The hotel itself is an enjoyable experience!

Came to the bar for an event , the event was at the pool bar , very nice space , delicious snacks and professional staff. The lobby bar was also fabulous. Got an excellent cosmo , had good music playing , some good vibe customers around , nice decor . It was safe to walk all around the hotel area . Down to ocean drive and all the stores .

THIS AWFUL HOTEL RUINED MY ENGAGEMENT. My boyfriend brought me here prior to my engagement. He was using Moxy as a place to get ready before our engagement (which I didn't know at the time was coming) and a place to enjoy afterwards. When we arrived, we went to valet and tried to unload items out of the car - the staff outside and valet refused to help us with our bags or unloading. We asked for a cart for our items, they POINTED at one, sitting in the RAIN, literally soaked! We asked if they had a towel so we could wipe it up, the valet staff looked at us, obviously annoyed, shrugged their shoulders and said "I don't know". We went inside, found a wash cloth from the front desk ourselves and wiped the cart down ourselves so we had a way of bringing up our items to our room. But wait... it gets worse. We go to check in, and the front desk staff refuses to use the new Marriott credit card that my boyfriend got to be able to earn bonus points. Even though his email said he could use immediately after applying for the credit card with the digital version, the front desk staff refused to use the digital version. At this point, we were over it and just wanted to get up to the room. When we carted our items upstairs and went into the room, it's WREAKED of chlorine - so bad I got a headache after a few minutes inside. When we called downstairs, they said they would switch us rooms - so we came all the way back downstairs with our items only to turn around and go back up to the same floor. It would have been nice if they told us we would be on the same floor so we didn't have to lug all of our stuff up and down on our own in a semi-wet cart. The next room they put us in didn't smell like chlorine, however, it was totally underwhelming. The "ocean view" rooms are technically ocean view, but the view is nothing like they advertise. You can see the water but only after you look past all the air conditioning and other roof top buildings in front of you. Picture below so you can see what I'm talking about. We were getting ready for our engagement (which I thought was just date night) and the hand held steamer in the room didn't work. We called the front desk, they said they would send an iron up. We waited over an hour and it never came. So guess who had to go to their engagement with wrinkly clothes???? Yeah. Us. After the engagement, I told my boyfriend there's NO way I am going back to this disgusting hotel with rude staff on my engagement night. We went back just to get our stuff and check out - when we got back to the front desk, told them everything that happened and they, of course, wouldn't refund us immediately because 'we stayed too long'. I told them about how my boyfriend had plans to PROPOSE so we couldn't exactly leave and find another hotel since he had a photo shoot to arrive on time for. It's worth mentioning that the evening staff was MUCH kinder and apologetic for our experience, although they didn't refund us there. We've called and explained the situation to Marriott several times and we have yet to get refunded. Pretty crappy for two gold Marriott members who tried to enjoy a really special occasion at their hotel. Never again. Don't come here. ESPECIALLY if you have something special planned.

Size matters the rooms are so small. Reminds me of hotel rooms in NYC. It's so small. Also the beach was blocked off for spring break and so the entrance was quite a ways. I was a bit disappointed in the location aspect in addition to the size. Customer care was great.

Moxy Miami South Beach Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Moxy Miami South Beach

Does anyone have pics of the king bed ocean view rooms?

It's hard to take a picture of the room. It's so small you have to stand on the bed because there's no walking space.

Is there a gym?

Yes

How would you rate the noise level? I know it is nearby clubs, but I am old and like to go to sleep at a regular time :)

We stayed on the 7th floor. It's loud AF when the DJ is playing on the roof top pool/bar area.

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun.
