Why is the bed on the wall, blocking the window? Where is the art?

The location of the hotel can't be beat if you want to be around nightlife or the beach. Other than that, not much good to say. We got breakfast vouchers we couldn't use because they didn't start serving until 730am and we had 10am flights. After a rough night of sleep (on a happening street, after all, but not going to complain about that) we were looking forward to coffee in the lobby because there isn't any in the room but the tiny carafe was empty. Design aesthetics of the room/suite was questionable - you walk through the door and are between the glass-door shower and the glass-door water closet - and overall this hotel is just *tired*. Dirty carpet, chipped paint, lights that don't work, water that didn't get hot (in both bathrooms), threadbare and torn cushions on the rooftop patio, unprepared bar/bartender... I really wanted to like this property but will look to stay somewhere fresher the next time we're in Miami Beach.

We have found our new favorite staycation spot! This is the very first DREAM brand I try out in the Hyatt portfolio and WOW - I'm impressed. DREAM South Beach is EXCEPTIONAL value for money. We will now ALWAYS stay here whenever we come to Miami for our annual cruises and frequent stopovers. LOCATION: The most perfect spot in South Beach (just behind the former Versace Mansion); a block from the ocean; 5-min walk to Muscle Beach and a myriad of different restaurants and entertainment venues; about 15-min. Uber or Lyft to the Miami Port / cruise ship terminals. SERVICE: Outstanding staff EVERYWHERE - from the front desk rockstars and sweet MANAGER(S), who stuck with me/my reservation even after my flights were delayed by a day and a half from Europe [!!!]; to KELLY & JUSTIN at the rooftop bar, refilling my drinks and changing my umbrellas constantly to the rotating sun; to the kitchen and their tasty 3-meat campechano tacos; to the Housekeeping staff, who left my bathrooms and bedroom in my Platinum Suite shining; to Security, always keeping an eye on odd fellas wandering and escorting them out if not guests. Every single person I encountered at this hotel was the epitome of excellence in service. POOL / OTHER AMENITIES: SO much to do! They have so many cool activities going on -- and are also very good at keeping guests updated about the best spots and events in their neighborhood. They even have FREE yoga (Sat. & Wed.), FREE salsa classes and dancing Friday nights; floating Blackjack games st their rooftop pool on Saturdays; insane Taco Tuesday food & drink specials ALL DAY; etc. And of course, the well-reviewed resto and bar BAR TACO is just downstairs, in-property. LOVED all this! Even if you're more of the lay and chill type of traveler, their rooftop pool will deliver. It was so quiet and relaxing, with the perfect deep house vibes, Miami Lounge type of music most of the day -- and with a gorgeous view of the ocean, just above the terracotta tiles of the former VERSACE MANSION below! ROOMS: I booked a Platinum suite. Spacious, with two FULL bathrooms! Living room with queen Murphy bed is completely separated from the king bedroom by a thick, solid lockable door. Each side has its own full bathroom AND own lighted vanity - so its the perfect room for families, 2 couples or friends traveling together. I loved it and will def. book it again. FOOD: Only place where I got mixed feelings. As a Hyatt Globalist (top Hyatt elite status), I received a daily voucher for complimentary full breakfast entree, one juice, and one coffee or tea per person. I tried the huevos rancheros my first morning - too dry :( Not enough sauce nor cheese, nor spicy enough. Very well seasoned otherwise, so I think if the chef adds more of the sauce and makes it bolder in chair and spice, he / she will certainly have a winner here. My iced lattes were STRONG and delishhh - on point every day. I'll prob still to note traditional breakfast burritos or platters next time, though. TLDR: THIS IS IT. DREAM is where you stay whenever you visit Miami Beach!

We arrived way earlier than check in time. The staff checked us in and held our luggage while we walked around for a while until our suite would be ready. We got back after about 2 hours which was still an hour and a half before regular check in. There was a very handsome young man that assured us the staff was in the room getting it ready. He said he was going to check.. a little time later we were told to head up to the room. Heading down the hallway, same handsome young man was guiding us to the room... I opened the door to find a room full of streamers and balloons and a bottle of champagne on ice, they knew it was my birthday and went beyond and above to make it special! The room was gorgeous and clean as always! Zero complaints!

Dream South Beach is in a convenient near the beach location, with a patio out front good for relaxing and people watching. The rooms are really cute as well. Staff is nice and there is a restaurant and a rooftop pool on premises. The biggest down side is no fridge or microwave in the room. My understanding is that you can request a mini fridge, but I didn't realize that until the end of my stay. There was also no towel rack near the shower, so you have to walk across the room wet and cold to get to a towel. It was also odd that to get to my room I had to walk through the restaurant to get to a very slow elevator. Dream is affiliated with Hyatt, so you get the same Hyatt perks if you are a World of Hyatt rewards member. I enjoyed my stay at Dream, but whenever the rooms were last remodeled there were some design choices that are not ideal.

Needed to recharge my phone while awaiting a driver and their staff were some of the kindest people I've ever encountered. A pristine kept lobby with a fragrance you'll not forget easily.

Solid location, good service, and fun rooftop area. Looking forward to better hours for the rooftop when Covid calms down. Room service skipped us on day 1, which was a bummer, but would visit again.

Had a blast here on a short layover on our way to Costa Rica! This hotel sits directly behind the old Giovanni Versace Compound & Estate, now a Restaurant & Bar. Make reservations if you want to see Versace place!

When Royal Caribbean literally kicked us to the curb at 8:30am, I was scrambling to figure out where to go until our 4pm check-in time. Turns out, seeking refuge at a private medical library which is only open to students was a poor choice. Big props to Dream South Beach for allowing us an early check in, which was so much appreciated. Upon entering our room, the lights automatically set to "Mood", casting dramatic shadows in every nook and corner. Towels are available at their rooftop pool near Highbar, just give your name and room number. Towels and beach loungers are also available at Miami Beach, just give your name and room number. An oversized umbrella can be rented for $20/day. The front desk and maintenance staff were so courteous and helpful. They applied stamps to my postcards and put them in their mail drop. The front curb has ride-share spots for all your Uber/Lyft pickups. And talk about a great location. We walked most everywhere, except to Lincoln Road mall. The staff was just as accommodating when asked if I could extend my stay. I would happily return when in the area

Just got back from a four night stay. Definitely not worth the price I paid. The room is very dark as they use dim lighting. I got used to it after the 2nd day but it was so hard to see when applying make-up. The bed is super uncomfortable as there's a huge dip on the right side of the bed. The room itself was small but I already knew that. There was peeling wallpaper, broken toilet handle but I could still flush the toilet. The area the hotel is in is very loud. People party all day and night. I can hear music coming from next door so it was a little hard trying to sleep. Also the noisy neighbors next door didn't help either. When I checked out in the morning, the young lady at the desk asked if I needed help with transportation. I said no and that I would call an Uber. She asked how much the Uber would cost. I looked and it said $39. She then said a cab is $35 flat rate. So I said sure I'll take a cab so she called one for me. Well when I got to the airport, the driver informed me that the fare was $40. The only thing I liked about the hotel is the Naked Taco restaurant. You can order food and they'll bring it up to the room. I would not stay at this hotel again unless it was under $100 a night. Anything over $100 is just way too much. I think at one point this hotel was cool but not anymore. They seriously need an update. The reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because the people at desk were really nice.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The entire property carries this effortless energy that feels very "Miami," but somehow calmer, smarter, and more human. A few standout people made the stay exceptional: Julian at the pool absolutely nailed the vibe. Attentive, warm, intuitive, and somehow always around exactly when needed without ever hovering. That balance is rare. Ms. Wanda at Lido brought such genuine warmth and grace to every interaction. You can feel that she truly cares about hospitality and people, not just service mechanics. Kaylee at Lido was fantastic -- sharp, personable, fun, and the kind of server that elevates the entire experience through personality alone. High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. Enjoy

I would never stay at the Fontainebleau Miami again. The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is impeccable, so we expected the same level of luxury and service here. Unfortunately, this location feels run down and poorly managed. The beds literally cave in in the middle, rooms feel outdated, and basic amenities were a struggle. There's nowhere to get ice yourself -- you have to call for it -- except no one ever brought it despite us requesting it multiple times over all 4 days. For a "luxury" hotel, there were also no slippers, no robes, and no 24-hour room service, which was surprising considering the price point and reputation. The full suite, which was the most expensive room we booked, had multiple issues: the shower head was rusted with water barely coming out of several holes, and the refrigerator leaked huge puddles onto the floor. We even encountered very rude interactions with both a poolside employee and a pool restaurant employee. Monday morning, my boyfriend and I wanted to sit in a cabana for literally 10 minutes to eat a bagel and coffee we had purchased from their café because we simply needed shade. The entire pool area was practically empty, yet we were shooed away in a very disrespectful manner. Later, when we went to COTE for lunch, the food and drinks were amazing and our servers were fantastic -- but once again, the front desk staff had a condescending attitude. We were asking what seating was available and discussing options within our group since we wanted a normal sit-down table. After we asked a follow-up question to clarify what wasn't available, the hostess responded with, "Do you want me to show you the tables so you can figure it out?" Meanwhile, the tables, couches, and bar seating were directly in front of us. We were simply trying to understand the wait and seating situation, not asking to be spoken to disrespectfully. What made the experience even worse was management. While discussing concerns at checkout and showing photos/videos, the manager was sitting on her phone while we were speaking to her. I've genuinely never seen someone so unprofessional in a management position at a luxury hotel. On top of that, friends and family tried sending champagne to the suite for the proposal celebration. It became unbelievably difficult. Emails went unanswered, calls weren't returned after multiple attempts, and one person who paid for the champagne had to text us directly asking if we received it -- because the hotel never delivered it. Only after they called again the following day to complain did the champagne finally arrive. Overall, this hotel feels like it stays busy mainly because of conventions and the iconic name, not because of the actual guest experience. The only highlight? The late-night food truck was honestly 10/10.

I asked repeatedly for an early, 2pm check-in. When I go there around 2:15, the front desk area was in chaos. There were 2 people being waited on and I was first in line, but had to wait for ~10 minutes to get any attention. Even with repeated communication, the room was not ready. My kids were heading into melt down mode. Not a great start. I got a call at 2:45 that my room was ready. We headed back around 4 and then it was the same chaos, and very long wait to get our 1 piece of luggage. Once upstairs, the hotel is very neat and tidy and our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, facing the bay and city. The condition and working order of the room, bathroom, and kitchenette were excellent. We loved the minimalist aesthetic. They did have a happy bday card and some chocolates for me in my room - a very nice touch. The main event downstairs is the pool area. They had a DJ playing vibey lounge music and it was packed with people chilling and drinking as mature adults. Definitely not a wild spring break scene. The pool is heated, too. The best is being in the pool as the sun sets - very magical as the place goes from day to night. Great hotel - lousy front desk. I reviewed the restaurant, Baia, separately - great waterfront vibes, so-so food, and disorganized service.

MUSTY room. Disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it…read more I booked a 3-night stay (Sunday-Wednesday... so no partying, all "school nights," and not during any major Miami events like Winter Music Conference, Miami Open, Formula 1, Boat Show, or SoBe Wine & Food Festival). This was a quiet work trip. As someone who grew up in Miami, I always thought of the Mondrian as a solid, above-average hotel. It was reputable, with good hospitality, nice amenities, all that jazz. Well... this stay was disastrous. The room was musty and clearly not properly cleaned. There were countless stains, dust bunnies, scratches and cracks on surfaces, and different hairs in multiple areas of the room. Just overall extremely unpleasant. I genuinely felt uncomfortable staying there. The robe in the closet had several holes (not small. very obvious, literally the first thing you see, and they still hung it up like it was acceptable). The toilet barely flushed, consistent plumbing issues. The bathroom had visible oxidation on the shower head and hose. The ceiling shower head and one of the lightbulbs were broken, and several other lights were dim. Front desk experience? Honestly shocking. I'd expect this level of attention at a low-tier chain, not here. Staff behind the counter were scrolling Instagram Reels or TikTok (with volume) while guests were standing there. Just incredibly careless. After my first night, I went to the front desk and asked if all rooms were this unkept and in such poor condition. They acted surprised. I showed them photos (with the dust, sticky residue on the bathroom floor, hair in multiple places) and they said they'd notify housekeeping to properly clean the room. Well... housekeeping never showed up. Not once during my entire 3-night, 4-day stay. Super disappointing, because this hotel has potential and used to be great. I even overheard another group at breakfast talking about how disappointing their room was and another woman in the elevator also had a similar experience... so clearly not an isolated issue. Valet was also hit or miss. The guys mostly just standing around, sometimes opening the door, sometimes not. No help with luggage when I arrived. Just an overall lack of training, standards, and any real sense of guest experience not just with valet but everyone else. Expect the restaurant staff, they were wonderful. And to be clear, l wasn't in a standard room. I booked a junior suite, and the only redeeming quality was the space (which was not properly used so it felt awkward honestly). Everything else? Terrible. Would absolutely not recommend. The property is in rough shape, and worse... it feels like nobody cares to fix it.
