Lovely Spot for Drinks! Let me start by saying we only visited the bar here--we didn't stay overnight--but it was absolutely lovely! We were looking for a place to sit outside and enjoy some cocktails, and this spot delivered. I had a Caipirinha and a martini, both perfectly made, while my husband enjoyed a few glasses of wine. We started at the Tiki Bar downstairs, then moved upstairs where we could relax with a beautiful pool view and pleasant music in the background. The bartenders were fantastic--friendly, attentive, and super helpful when we were deciding on drinks. Everything we tried was excellent! If you're looking for a relaxing atmosphere with great cocktails and service, this is definitely worth a visit.

Stained sheets, dingy rug, threadbare towels with holes, peeling paint, fingerprints all over the walls, bad drinks on the roof and at the pool. This place is worn out with dark, itty bitty rooms, even by South Beach standards. All this would not have gotten me to write a review. However, it is nearly 1:00 am and I am unable to sleep, even with earplugs in, due to the bass blasting at my head from one floor below. The first two times I called the front desk to see how late the music would play, I was lied to and told it was almost over. That was at 10:30 and 11:00 pm. At least the third guy was honest and told me the music won't stop until 2:00 am. How this place received a Michelin key is totally beyond me. I will never stay here again and I suggest you don't either.

As much as I absolutely adore the villa feel of the grounds where the Esme is located and of course it's in the heart of Miami Beach. I was extremely disappointed that nobody warned me that there was no rooftop bar or pool available. That is a huge reason I decided to book this room. Also see different suites on the website and thinking I was going to get a spacious king suite with beautiful green tile we got this tiny very dark maroon box absolutely no room to move around other than going into the bathroom or shower with a sliding farmers door... large cabinet instead of more closet space/ it was extremely cramped. The room we had barely had a view of part of the side street, again- after booking through my AMEX account and hotels.com I am disappointed for this bit of a bait and switch. The location is great we were told we could go three blocks south to use a little cozy pool but luckily the beach is two blocks away so we ended up doing that most of the time karaoke on Friday at Mickey. Burkes was really fun. Cuban cafe across from OH MEXICO has uhmazing empanadas and nice brunch coffee drinks. Only managed to catch our two complimentary drinks once before we left (at Drexel which is bldg we were lodged in). Next time I come to Miami, I'll book something half price and enjoy the savings on other places for dining and entertainment. Free bikes were my fave amenity, nice areas for photos. Service was pretty good but sometimes slow... overall 6.5/10.

Esme was sooooo cute!! Clean, beautifully decorated! JD at the front desk was absolutely incredible. We were there for a bachelorette party for my daughter and he 100% took care of us and made sure all of our rooms were ready! There is so much to do in this area. Plenty of food and ice cream options. Walking distance from the beach and Esme has their own area with lounge chairs that their guests can rent for free at the beach! This hotel was beyond charming and has so much history in it and around it!

One of the most unique boutique hotels we've ever stayed in. Everyone was super friendly! Location is awesome. Surrounded by restaurants, very close to the beach. The hotel itself is a series of buildings. We were two couples with two rooms that turned out to be in a separate building from the main one, which explained why we had to be "shown" to our rooms. We were told our building used to be Al Capone's brothel LOL. There was nothing to identify that it was part of the hotel on the outside of the building. We reserved the regular King rooms, which were super TINY. I think the shower on our cruise might have been bigger. Next time we would get the next room size up. But for one night it was just fine. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Would love to see security added to the building in the form of needing your card to enter it. If I were traveling alone I would have definitely preferred to be in the main building. We arrived quite early and even though our rooms weren't ready we were told we could enjoy the facilities. We had a wonderful breakfast in a charming small room that they use as a bar at night. There's also outside seating for it. We then went up to the rooftop for drinks (mojito-not too sweet...yum!) and later on shared a pepperoni pizza and guacamole. There's a nice looking pool if that's your jam. We also had access to their area of the beach if we wanted it. Wi-fi worked simply and seamlessly the whole time.

Look, I really wanted to like this place because it absolutely looks so cute, but it's just not happening. I read many of the reviews before booking this hotel, so we at least knew what we might be getting into, but it was still worse than I expected. I think some of the very good reviews are just rating the rooftop or bar, which I understand because the public areas are super cute and well done. However, actually staying here is a different story. The hotel is actually divided among a bunch of different historic buildings, which sounds great in theory. I don't know if the main building has better rooms, but you have no way of knowing which building you are going to get when you book. We were in a building a couple doors down. The walk through the alley was pleasant and vibey, with the bellhop pointing out the tiles from 1925, a great character piece. The gym looked nice, and the hallway of our building was very quiet compared to the outside music, so I was feeling optimistic. However, our building was the only one without an elevator, and we had 3 bags over 50 lbs. He did help us carry them up, but I just feel like that is crazy for the amount of money they charge here. Walking into the room was a disappointment. I was hoping for a pink room, but that wasn't the deal breaker. The deal breaker was how bad the paint looked in our room emerald green room. In all of the pictures posted by the owner, the paint looks very smooth, nice and professional, but in reality, that must be some world class editing because it looks like I paid my cousin Joe to come paint in here (and cousin Joe is 5). Very sloppy work with the matte look looking really bad and scratches everywhere. As others have mentioned, it is a small room with no desk, and I'm pretty sure we got an upgrade. That's not a deal breaker by itself, but when you start noticing the quality control issues, it adds up. The bed did not look comfortable, which was confirmed when I sat on it and the springs squeaked. Periodically throughout the night while sleeping, we would hear things drop off the bed, and turns out they were bolts and screws, so I have no idea how close we were to our bed just falling over. Also, once you get in it, the bed caves towards the middle, so we ended up on top of each other in a pile. When I finally tried to separate myself and get out towards an edge, I felt like I was laying on a slope because of how much the bed caves. I slept ok for one night because I was tired, but I definitely would not recommend this to others. We stayed on a Friday night, and the sound proofing in the room is non existent. You can hear and feel the beats from outside as if you are in the club. This lasted until about 11:30 PM, which was honestly a pleasant surprise that it ended fairly early. Then, we realized you can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway. Footfalls on the stairs. Sneakers squeaking. People talking in low voices. And someone beginning to clean in the hallway and open doors at 8 AM. Which is how I am now fully awake writing this review. There is plenty more to mention: stained sheets, dingy appearance for premium price, random holes cut into the wall for wires to come through (not something you expect from a nice, Michelin rated hotel), and a chain lock that was completely ineffective due to the fact that the bottom screw isn't even anchored into the wall. Instilling a lot of confidence in our safety (not)! Also, the rooftop bar was closed for a private event, so we did not get to enjoy it. The beach access and bikes seem like a nice touch, and I will update if we use them. The location is very good, with many restaurants nearby and plenty of them highly rated on Yelp. Ultimately, we chose to stay at this hotel despite the bad reviews because we could not find another hotel on Miami Beach in this price range that didn't have similar complaints. But I feel like we paid boutique hotel prices for an old Comfort Inn in a cheap, sparkly dress. Next time, I won't stay on Miami Beach, or I will find a name brand hotel that I can at least count on the room to be well appointed. If the room was nice, I might be able to accept the noise as it feels like this is part of the experience here. However, everything in combination makes this a pretty low quality stay, and anyone choosing to book here should beware what you are up against.

Stoped at Esme for a quick drink. There was no one there to direct us to the location but we found the elevator quickly. We made our way up to the rooftop. Again, not greeted but once we talked to the back of the rooftop the bartender asked if we would like a table to sit at the bar. We picked the bar. We were given a menu and water. There is a fully stocked bar of you wanted something besides what was listen on the menu. I have to say, the Pina colada was the best drink I had my entire time in Miami. Highly recommend.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Came here for pre-drinks before our dinner at Pane e Vino. Super cool eclectic rooftop bar. Great spot for a quick drink and view. Staff was so nice. Super clean. Best Sangia. Bartender let me pick what fruit I wanted mudddled in and if I wanted brandy added. Personalized experience like no other.

Truly enjoyed our stay at Esme. It is the perfect location if you plan on lounging by the strip and the beach. The decor and vision of the hotel the second to none. It's a very cozy, feeling walking into the lobby and being greeted immediately and assisted with our bags to our room. Yes, the rooms are small, however, this is justified being the location. The attentive staff, service, food, options, and amenities more than make up for the size of the rooms. We were able to have breakfast and it was delicious with the best coffee. We got drinks one night in the bar and the bartender was attentive and friendly. One night on the rooftop there was a DJ and we enjoyed drinks and one of the cozy loungers. And we also indulged in laying by the pool that was the perfect temperature. Everyone was so very attentive from the front desk to the servers that we're willing to assist us with anything we needed. This will definitely be our go to hotel in Miami.

Wow, this is a wonderful hotel. In fact, we didn't really leave it yesterday. It's unassuming from the street. You walk in to see a beautiful lobby. This look and feel extends throughout the resort. Our room was tastefully appointed with a comfortable bed and a huge shower. The roof has - get this - an awesome pool, a bar where they serve complimentary breakfast and more throughout the day and a fitness area. I think there's sushi on the first floor? It's a lot. It is also right in the vibrant heart of South Beach. Tons of great restaurants, some shopping and really a lot of gelato. We had a wonderful stay. I recommend.

Esmé is a new hotel in Miami Beach which has a rooftop pool, lounge, and bar area. For food we had: Mushroom Fricassee on Savory Polenta Cakes (V) -Fried cauliflower Skewer, tahini yogurt, mint salsa -Smoked salmon, crème fraiche, potato latke, dill -Grilled short rib, horseradish cream, sourdough -Curry Homemade Samosas - "Vegan" Scallops with parnip puree I would rate each between a 1-2 out of 5. All lacked flavor. My fav was the fried cauliflower. The drinks also, unfortunately, were not the best. They either didn't have options such as tajin or the drinks weren't strong. I eventually started ordering shots instead of the drink option because they were on the weaker end. The servers were nice and I loved the layout of the establishment as the lounge chairs are abundantly spread out throughout the rooftop and are comfortable. For parking there is a valet option but street parking was available and cheap!

Walking distance to a Publix, the mall, bakery, etc. The hotel checkin is on the 6th floor, the first floor is mainly a seating area and concierge. They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. It turns out that the app was glitchy and we were put in a different room number. The lady behind the counter made adjustments and we were able to stay on the same floor as what I originally picked, but in a different room. The room had a king bed, a fridge, microwave, a TV, drawers, and a bathroom with a shower. It was very clean. We got two drink vouchers to redeem at the lobby/pool bar, which was a plus, to enjoy while we were at the pool. The hotel has a fitness center as well. The continental breakfast provided a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from. They offered a little more than some of the other locations I have been at.
