Ultimately, this review is mostly moot as the hotel is planned to be demolished in May (I wish I had known this prior to booking) and that explains a lot about the property. First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. My balcony faced west so I had sun during the afternoon as well (perfect for a tan). Honestly, I never felt like I needed to leave the resort being a pool guy. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. Truly a 5 star experience! From customer service to luxury accommodations this hotel has it all! The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are very clean, and the bar area holds a really cool vibe. The entire hotel exudes comfort and class but the pool area is absolutely incredible. Once you step outside you are met with first class service. You will be greeted, escorted to a lounge chair, and set up with towels and ice cold water. The cushions on the lounge chairs are some of the most plush and luxurious that I've ever laid on. You must order a Pina Colada with a topper of rum. Best Pina Colada EVER! The pool overlooks the intercostal surrounded by palm trees. Finally, there is a walkway that leads to the beautiful beach with lounge chairs already set up. This hotel offers more than just a great vacation. We are locals that spent a weekend staycation here. Location is great next to Brickell and downtown with easy access to Miami Beach. However, the hotel is very old, feels old, and is in need of renovations (which I believe are happening within the next year). We didn't take advantage of the amenities (probably would have if we weren't locals) and spent most of our time at the pool, which at least had a nice view of the bay and downtown skyline. I honestly remember more cons than pros (one elevator was down which caused a long delay; the hostesses at La Mar gave us a brunch menu to look at but didn't tell us that it was actually not available bc they were closing soon - weird but OK). I did like the tea we were offered at check-in and the concierge service through WhatsApp. But nothing standout about our experience. read more

I spent two nights here, and while the customer service was decent when requested, there were some areas for improvement. For example, when I asked for a fridge, microwave, and even plates, the staff happily provided them. Most of the employees were in a good mood, though they could have been more proactive in greeting guests and checking if we needed anything. The main reason for the 4 star rating is the bed, it was extremely firm, making it difficult to sleep. I originally planned to stay three nights but ended up leaving early because of this. When I mentioned my concern to front desk at checkout, her only response was to offer a mattress topper, which I wasn't aware was an option. This makes me wonder, if other guests have also complained about the bed's firmness, why isn't this option more widely advertised, maybe as an option more visible. Another issue was housekeeping entering my room twice while I was working, despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. While they were polite, it was unsettling that they could still come in so easily. On the positive side, the location is great--about 25-30 minutes from South Beach with traffic and offering beautiful views all around. read more

Top notch service as to be expected from a Mandarin hotel. Location was just across from Downtown/Brickell area and just a short walk across the bridge. Might be a warm walk once the temps rise in summer. Though the view of downtown is amazing either day or night. The have infused water station right next to front desk, so bring your reusable water bottle. Also have a coffee/tea station in the mornings until about 9:30 am. The bartenders in the lobby bar were exceptional and always cheery and seemed to know many of the more regular guests by name. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

This was my family's first vacation since 2007, and I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. The customer service was spectacular. I really appreciated having multiple points of contacts throughout my entire stay and even before checked in. Everyone did amazingly well to make sure my family and I were comfortable. We had two rooms for 10 days, which gave us ample space where we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. I travel more often than my family, so I really wanted to set the standard for how a vacation should be -- the hotel experience *is* what really makes or breaks a vacation, and all the staff exceled at making my family happy. And when my family is happy, I'm happy. We've created so many new memories, I met so many amazing people. All I can really say is "wow." How about we just shut down all other hotels and keep MO as the only option for everyone?! ;) I'm so glad I chose MO as the hotel for my family to enjoy! I picked this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. As his first trip to Miami it did not disappoint. Located on its own triangle shaped island The Mandarin Oriental offers you a relaxed Miami experience. The service was impeccable from the start, every hotel staff we came across was helpful and pleasant. Our ocean view room was spacious and offered a balcony view overlooking the ocean and Brickell. This hotel has a lot of amenities like dry cleaning, a bar and restaurant and spa to enjoy. While lounging by the pool we were met with the best service all day and the strawberry daiquiris were delicious. The pool area is a great place to drink and enjoy the sun. Being that this is located on a mini island you'll see a lot of joggers passing by. We enjoyed the pool and man made beach they offered a short walk away too. The spa was incredible. We booked a couples massage that was amazing. Before being escorted upstairs I took advantage of the spacious bath area. They have these high tech shower with various shower heads that can be controlled by a screen in the wall. The massage itself was very relaxing. It was in a cute room overlooking the pool area. The best part was afterwards when getting ready in the bath area I realized they literally had everything a girl could need, moisturizer, deodorant, hair ties it was such a great surprise! The Bar area gets packed on Friday nights. By the time we got there it was very little seating. We dined at the restaurant downstairs and we're not impressed by the fish choice. The Cosmo's are great though Taking a stroll on the island at night was nice. If you're looking to shop the walk over the bridge to Brickell is very short. It's close to everything if you want to just lounge, shop and relax in Miami for the weekend. read more

Absolutely outstanding service and experience at the Mandarin Oriental Miami! We had a mini staycation here this past Labor Day. Check-in was prompt and courteous. Although we were advised our room wasn't ready upon checking in, we went to the lobby bar and ordered drinks and a burger. By the time we received the burger, our room was ready. That should have been 20 to 30 minutes tops stops. Sooo nice after a long road trip. Lobby BAR: Excellent cocktails for very reasonable prices. We tried their burger from the bar menu, which was too plain. It really was missing some sort of aioli or cheese. Fries were crunchy and delicious though. My Old Fashioned was strong and proper. My husband really enjoyed his Nasty... something! I forgot! It was a spin on the margarita, but with a hint of jalapenos and nutmeg dust. SUITE: Our bay view king room/suite was impeccable. Gorgeous views from the 12th floor, comfortable bed, spacious, clean, and beautiful bathroom as well. The only downside of the spacious balcony is that it isn't private at all. There's a see-through screen divider between all balconies on the floor. Bummer. Still, we enjoyed watching the skyline and the boats passing by. Beautiful sunset from there too. POOL: Too small for the size of the hotel, in my opinion. It fell crowded during the day. Hard to find a shaded lounger or a lounger at all. We had to move toward the private "beach" area, which you access by exiting the property through a gate by the hot tub, cross a trail part of an adjacent park, and walk into another gated area that is part of the hotel. We absolutely loved that "beach" area though! Too bad there isn't a small plunge pool there as well to spread patrons (and so we can all enjoy a pool time as well). It was full of beautiful palm trees, a great view of the skyline and bay. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the mega yachts passing by while relaxing on a double lounger under the shade of some palm trees. BREAKFAST: Ohhhh, sooo good! We enjoyed it at the outdoor dining area that is part of La Mar restaurant. We chose the $39 buffet, which had excellent dishes such as made-to-order omelets, relat fixings [scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, accoutrement of cheeses and fruits, cereals, etc. ], homemade granola and waffles, and even free-flowing, French press Illy coffee. We got it for free and only had to pay a little over $10 for gratuity after the credit applied thanks to our American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts reservation. DINING: We also enjoyed the La Mar restaurant for dinner, and it was FABULOUS. It only took 20 minutes from sitting to receiving our app *and* main entrees! Outstanding service, excellent portions, and unique Peruvian fusion flavors. Our only complaint is the early 2010's top 40 playlist that completely RUINED the ambience. Terrible. They should have chill lounge music as they at the pool or, even better, play some relaxing Latin tunes. Unfortunately, we did not have time to try out their spa. We did look at their menu and they had so many great treatments! We hope to try it on our next visit. So happy we are Florida natives and this fabulous hotel is only 4 hours away from us. I spent a nice staycation weekend here! The entrance to Mandarin Oriental is right before the gate guard into Brickell Key (man-made island). It will be on the right side immediately after the bridge off of Eighth Street. We missed this our first time around. I love the location, as it offers great views everywhere. A lot of people will come into the lobby to take pictures overlooking the Miami bay, especially late afternoon. I highly recommend walking/jogging around Brickell Key. Everyone is pretty active throughout the day, and there are nearby coffee shops and quick-bite restaurants you can walk/jog/bike/etc. Room was good, but we were mostly outdoors. King bed is quite comfortable with plenty of pillows. Plenty of outlets throughout the room with top-shelf amenities. There is a soaking tub with an open view to the room and a stand-up shower in the corner of the restroom. Pool and hot-tub were decent. We were in a corner area, furthest away from the bar. They will come to you when you press the black radar button for food and drinks service. There is a private beach area (need key access) for those staying, right across the pool. There is no swimming in the private area, but it offers views with food and drinks service. Service was great except this one little incident. We went to the front desk to request for quick housekeeping with bedsheets and extra towels while we left for Key Biscayne. We came back several hours later with no service, so we called them to leave the appropriate items we needed in front of our door. I am not sure about the valet pricing, but they were always on time. This was my first time in Miami with my boyfriend. We wanted to be near the ocean and the city. We actually stayed long enough to book one on the ocean front and this one which had the city views! Parking: The hotel is kind of on its own island. You take a bridge and it takes you right there. So you either have to go with their valet parking which is of course expensive or find a parking garage. Sorry, but god gave me 2 working legs lol so We parked a couple blocks away which cost about $15-20/day. Download the ParkMobile app. It'll save you time and money on finding the closest parking lots. I believe the hotel was charging around $60/day. Room: We booked a Deluxe Veranda King room. I was beyond happy with it. They had chocolates and a personal hand written card on the table, very nice touch. You get a full desk, tv, snack bar and a stocked fridge. No microwave though. Balcony: It has a balcony with 2 long lounge chairs. The view is AMAZING! You get the whole city view and it's so freaking close. I would have liked that the fence they used to divide each balcony to be solid. You can see the other side because the spaces are kinda big in the pattern they picked. Bathroom: The bathroom is every women's dream. Or at least mine! Separate toilet with a closed door for privacy. Full wall mirror, bathtub and enclosed glass shower. I love how everything was placed and designed. Looks elegant and simple. There's also a curtain blind divider between the room and the bathroom. We always kept it open because it's nice to see the city from the bathtub :-) Bed: Clean and comfortable linens and pillows. Nothing to complain about. Pool: They have an infinity edge pool which you can still see the city from. Also a small jacuzzi as well. If you take the stairs down, you'll get to another private beach section by using your card to get in. It's man made but it's still nice that it's at the front edge of the water. It's more for laying out in the cabanas. We enjoyed our stay here. With Covid going on, staying in a hotel like this made us feel like we were in paradise. Thank you! read more

I've always enjoyed every stunning Mandarin Oriental location I've visited in the past. I would expect nothing less of the Lunar New Year prosperity decor and spectacular Miami Biscayne Bay waterfront night skyline views at Mandarin Oriental Miami. We enjoyed Peruvian dinner at La Mar by Gaston Acurio inside the hotel where my event industry friend has done business at this venue. If only we had more time before our next destination of the evening. My review may be totally biased by the fact that I was upgraded to a Skyline View Suite on arrival. I had booked a Veranda Room, but got the upgrade, plus the Fans of MO welcome amenity (a box of four artisan chocolates), plus two amenities of my choice. I picked the $50 incidentals credit and late check-out at 4pm. Given that I also had a $50 credit with my booking, got in the room early, got the extra $50 credit, got late check-out, and got upgraded to an amazing suite, I felt almost like I was stealing. The hotel has a wonderful lobby. It's airy with sky-high ceilings, a wall of windows overlooking Miami and the bay, and bamboo trees. The wonderful lobby bar completes the excellence with great drinks, professional servers, plenty of seating, and a crunchy spicy tuna roll to die for. The suite was absolutely everything you would expect from a high-end luxury urban hotel. The majority of the space is given over to the living area, with a huge sofa including lounge, a plush area rug on hardwood floors, a half-bath, and a live orchid. The bedroom has an ultra-comfortable bed and two closets, plus plenty of outlets. The bathroom is done in butterscotch marble (perhaps on the verge of becoming dated), a soaking tub with a view, a stand-up shower, plenty of counter space, a bamboo plant, and top-shelf amenities. The balcony can be accessed from the living room or the bedroom and wraps around the corner of the hotel for 270-degree views of the city, the bay, and even a glimpse of the cruise port. I didn't make use of the pool--it has plenty of lounge chairs but is smallish. Just beyond is the hotel's private "beach" (behind a key-access door) with loungers on sand right on the water. No swimming, but it's a very distinctive view of the city and the boats in the bay, plus they have pagers you can use to call for food or drink service. It's quite a nice amenity. The spa is also excellent, with a calming relaxation room and a plethora of treatments. (Note there's no whirlpool, just steam room and sauna.) They do a terrific job of check-in and check-out, making your experience feel custom. The restaurant is La Mar, on the lower level. That was the only miss in the whole hotel for me. It's not bad, just not as special as everything else. I was seated inside away from the windows, but it might feel more exciting if you sat out on the patio. Every single staff member I encountered was top-notch, empowered to meet your needs and wants, and very approachable. All the details are right as well--the elevators are quick, with floor-specific key access; room service provides a huge bowl of fruit and an orchid blossom with your breakfast order; the hallways are quiet with very high-quality carpet; and there's a great variety in the type and placement of lighting in the rooms. If you planned on going out and about a lot during your stay, you'd probably have to deal with traffic getting on and off the hotel island, but once I arrived I didn't leave until check-out. The customer service was top-notch! The staff was extremely helpful, and accommodating and provided white glove service. I did have to call them twice for some things but other than that it was a joy. Th bartenders are out of of this world and Fri and Sat its live music thats a vibe! The Cons: The room had a funny smell when first entered. Not a funk but like a musk cologne almost. Luckily there was a balcony where you could let fresh air in. The beds had no headboard, the pillows were flat and the bed was kind of hard. But the room was cute for what it was worth. Out of all the trendy when luxury hotels we have here in Miami, the Mandarin Oriental will always hold a special place in my heart. It's classic, unique styling, unparalleled location in Brickell Key, and attentiveness of the staff are second-to-none. The Mandarin Oriental Brickell Key transports guests to a serene paradise away from the hustle-and-bustle of the Brickell Financial District with its infinity pool, man made "Brickell Beach", and island vacation vibes, while only being located a short walk away across the bridge. I had the privilege of visiting this hotel many times: many several times for dinners, once for a Birthday "Staycation" in 2019 where my room was generously upgraded by management, and most recently this past Friday for a 60-minute Couples Massage at their renowned Spa followed by surprise proposal/engagement to my now fiancée after. If you haven't had a massage here, boy are you missing out! Everyone from the front desk to the masseuses are very detail oriented! From the delicious tea they serve, to the customization of the massages, from the target areas to the oil and massage techniques used are customized to your liking. I did not catch the name of the two female masseuses that did our massage, but thank you so much for leaving my fiancée and I so rejuvenated! They found knots/problem areas in both of our necks and leg areas that we did not even know we had! The Massage session concluded with a glass of champagne, complementary/validated parking for the day, and access to the hotel's on-site facilities, such as the pool and the beach. After my surprise proposal on their beach, we decided to have a light lunch at the Oasis café by the pool and ordered the Crunchy Tuna Roll and the Turkey Club, which were both delicious! Upon checking out at the Spa, my fiancée was presented with a complementary gift box from them to celebrate our engagement, containing a beautiful, hand-written card and a nice box of massage oils from our session. Thank you to everyone at the Mandarin for always making our visits special, but especially this last one! You can count on us locals returning in the future when we need a break from the craziness of our daily lives but don't want to travel too far from home. Wow what a view, and terrific decoration/service. The one drawback is the traffic nightmare to reach the hotel (tough logistics are the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). Otherwise, count me among the people in their adverts saying "I'm a fan"... First the great news: this is a first-class hotel on every level. Flowers in the lobby / hallways, original art (not prints), even the maids say an enthusiastic welcome/hello, and you would have to ask something truly bizarre for the concierge not to get it/book it/ find it. Wraparound views of Miami Beach, Miami, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic are stunning. The rooms are expensive, in the range you would expect for a super luxury / premium brand. Sometimes there seem to be deals in the off-season. The restaurants and spa are unbelievably good. In particular the spa gets raves. The only real drawback is the traffic nightmare to actually reach the hotel. It is located on Brickell Key, a man-made island just off the shore of mainland Miami. Brickell Key is densely developed and thickly forested with expensive, very tall condominiums and hotels. To reach it you first need to travel though the incredibly congested area of Miami near the intersection of Brickell Avenue and Eighth Street. Eighth Street becomes the causeway to reach Brickell Key. On in-season (Fall to Spring) weekends, allow 30-45 extra minutes to make the turns, even with an Uber/Lyft driver who knows the turns. read more

Tasteful welcome package (habanero-lime chocolate & alkaline water). ROOM The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and well-maintained. A unique mix of traditional + modern aesthetic, with impressive woods. Very comfortable for a singular staycation but minimal storage space for personal effects (4-drawer cherry wood McGuire dresser & entryway closet). The AC system is very underrated; long & wide HVAC for uniform, quiet yet powerful temp control. Plus it's eco friendly! Ergonomic leather desk chair and a generous workspace. Lots of natural light from the balcony (lovely views of the south channel & shoreline). IP phones with touch display. Blackout drapes. BED Perfect mattress. I slept great every night. The duvet was a bit lackluster (not particularly soft nor had a cozy weight) but still comfortable. Sturdy base with corner guards to protect your shins. Accent lights abode the bed + lamps affixed to the headboard. iHome bedside power hubs for charging multiple devices with different wattages. Overall a clean and sufficient bedspread with ample + appropriately sized down pillows. BATH Great attention to detail & function; Extra large vanity mirror surrounded by dimmable LEDs, deep sink, sleek & slim handles with great ergonomics. Rejuvenating water pressure throughout the bathroom & heats FAST. the view (tv movie or balcony) from the bathroom is really incredible. The tile pattern is also a standout; a sandy porcelain Calcutta stone that creates a bath-spa vibe right in the room! The Walk-in shower is equipped with the status quo 3-piece designer (Natura Bisse) bath set, with a shower hose & multiple spray patterns. The shower set is mostly sulfates, so bring your own. The (vegetable) hand soap and body balm on the other hand feel amazing & are much more nourishing. The DEEP 70" adjoining tub is perfect for a long soak, coupled or solo. Bath bomb worthy. The closet toilet feels like an afterthought, but the TP doesn't feel like your typical professional series stock, so an acceptable trade-off. The grout lines are hit or miss in different areas & some of the tile in the toilet-closet were stained/dirty. Another quirk is the lack of hooks for your robe and/or to encourage towel reuse. The protein portions are on the smaller side but the cocktails are strong and it's DoorDash/UberEats friendly. I really enjoyed the Peaches and Cream French toast (Gluten Free). The minibar is more traditional & limited on the snack selection but stronger on the beverages; small mini fridge is filled to capacity with spirits and other drinks like apple juice & Red Bull. There's a generous amount of bedside bottled (glass) water too. Wine glasses + bottle opener are also provided. NOISE No complaints. Not a peep. We stayed here for a quick weekend in Miami, and were not disappointed. The views from this hotel were beautiful, customer service was top notch, and the food and beverage quality were top tier. The only complaint we had was the wait times. Make sure you aren't in a rush when ordering room service, or drinks at the bar because nothing comes fast! I left my car at the Valet. They returned my keys without my key chain. First they tried to blame it on me. Then they magically found the broken key chain, but refused to refund me or buy a new one. This reflects really badly on the restaurant and does not live up to their standards! read more

My favorite thing about this hotel is the view. If you get the waterfront room then it feels like you're on a cruise ship. The balcony feels like you're on a ship at dock. Service was spot-on. 5 stars. Accommodations: 4 stars - nice, but just slightly dated feeling. Room (Junior Suite) was nice; great balcony, well-stocked mini-fridge. Word from the staff was that the Junior Suite is actually better than the more expensive Skyline Suite. Only meals we had there were breakfast, which was really good. Only knock, was that the mattress was a bit lumpy and sloped noticeable on one side. Wasn't comfortable at all. After talking to the front desk folks, they replaced it immediately and all was good. Amenities. Wife got a great pedicure for about $90 at the Spa. Pool area is medium sized, with limited chairs, but nice. Again, service was 5 stars. Beach was very nice; quiet, had a secluded feeling. No water access however, which I knew before hand, so no surprise there. Food and drink available on demand. Hotel is on a man-made island with a walking path all the way around. Good restaurants are a five minute walk away and the overall feel of the area is sheik. The water-front is a quick ride-share away. Airport is about 20-40 mins. depending on traffic. Bottom line, I would definitely go back, it was an awesome get away! read more

The MO definitely lived up to its legendary reputation. The house-keeping team was beyond outstanding! Service was equally phenomenal across the entire resort. One quibble: breakfast at the MO left something to be desired (e.g. supermarket-style Belgian waffles and pastry baskets, bland omelettes) but some of their offerings were quite good (e.g. Eggs Benedict with truffle hollandaise, fluffy pancakes). That aside, the hotel amenities exceeded expectations, notwithstanding the pandemic. Scatter my ashes at the MO Notes/tips: - Housekeeping is available on demand. Just press the "make up room" button by the door, and voilà! - Breakfast at the MO is served at La Mar from 8AM (weekdays/weekends), which is startlingly late. Room service is the contingency option for those that need an earlier bite. - The pool is open until 11PM. Night swims are an absolute must in the infinity pool that overlooks the downtown Miami skyline. - MOs are reputed for their zen ambiance. It was quite serene in the suites/rooms, and, for the most part, in the communal areas during the day. However, the spa and MO Bar + Lounge attract substantial foot traffic. This is by no means a negative point, but just a word of caution for those that might otherwise expect minimal interaction with the general public. - Complimentary in-room coffee, espresso and tea-making facilities are available upon request. - Consider booking direct as a fan of the MO to clinch their best rates (e.g. stay three nights, and get one free), and receive bonus offers (e.g. breakfast for two, spa credit, etc). The "perks" on the AMEX FHR, CHASE LHR, VISA Infinite and Virtuoso booking platforms all paled in comparison to the offers on the MO website. - Self-parking options, esp. for those concerned about valet in the age of COVID: Courvoisier Centre parking garage is the closest option (right across the street). The entire staff is very friendly, which is very unusual to find in Miami. Everyone was extremely helpful! The room was perfect, and the room view was stunning. The food was incredible everywhere in the hotel. Carlos, who brought up my luggage, was one of the most helpful staff members at the hotel. I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone I know who lives & is visiting Miami. The hotel is also perfect for a staycation and couples getaway! I've been sitting on this review for awhile since we stayed there in 2018, but what happened has weighed on my chest until now and for the benefit of other patrons, I need to get this review out there. TL;DR: We had a racist experience at La Mar. We had an early reservation since we were there with my young daughter, and I had asked to sit outside near the water. The hostess declined my request and sat us at a table towards the back where the high chair would be most prone to bumping from passersby. Not more than 5 minutes go by and the SAME HOSTESS sits a different family (of the same size) at the table I had requested. The only difference between my family and this other family is the color of my skin. Come to find out, they didn't even have a reservation. Since we were on vacation, I really tried not to let it get to me, but it was so blatantly disrespectful it got under my skin. As a parent, you see teachable moments you can give your children a tangible lesson in (1) standing up for yourself and your family and (2) doing the right thing for others that come after you. This was my moment. I let the hostess, waiter and manager know my thoughts on the incident. One the one hand, not getting a preferred table is not a big deal --- you're still eating dinner. On the other hand, when we see implicit and subversive racism we need to address it with our wallet and our customer voice. The restaurant and the hotel (we were also staying at the Mandarin) were deeply apologetic. In fact, the hotel manager sent an apology note and a fruit basket. All else being equal, we had an enjoyable stay with sun basking and poolside drinks --- I'd even recommend the smokey Old Fashioned at Mo Bar. But at the end of the day --- my family and I were not treated EQUAL, and even 3 years later, I think this is important for folks to know. read more

Second time staying at the Mandarin Oriental in Brickell Key and love it. The food is good, the bar is nice ( Shawn at the bar is awesome), all the hospitality staff are super professional. The only possible downside for some may be that kids are aloud and families are welcome. For single young couples, I suggest an adult-only hotel. We were happy to stay at Mandarin Oriental and going to day clubs and pools to get the sexy Miami wives without being in a party hotel. The spa is one of the best hotel spas I've been to! Get the "timed service" where you pay for a block of time and get to choose whatever services you want! There are little touches, the aroma therapy included, the Tibetan gong made of seven metals that signals the beginning and end of your service... thank you Sonia the meticulously professional spa staff also a plus... The housekeeping staff all walks with a smile on their face. Everyone seems to be happy at their job and the feeling is transferred to myself as a guest. The beach is not really a beach but still a nice touch. The pool is whatever. But overall the location is THE BOMB. Close to the great dining and a very nice mall that is clean and complete where you can get anything you want ( hair services, workout gear, beach bathing suits, mani pedis etc. Equinox gym is nearby and everything is walking distance. Quality is good, prices are reasonable, and you just can't beat the incredible view of Miami from the key. We like room 1521! Great views all around. read more
