If you're planning just a short visit or don't mind compact accommodations, it works, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. I booked a one-night stay here before my cruise, I specifically chose this hotel because of its location--and it did not disappoint. The Brickell area is a vibe, walkable and full of restaurants and shops, which makes it a perfect pre- or post-cruise stay. The hotel's proximity to the cruise port was a huge plus. Check-in is self-service, but assistance is available if needed, which made the process easy and convenient. The king bed does take up most of the room, stretching from the window to the wall, so the room feels a bit compact--but it's thoughtfully designed. The sink is located in the main room across from the bathroom, and I actually found the setup pretty functional. The shelves around the sink were stocked with a washcloth, hand towel, hair dryer, and tissues, plus hand soap and lotion at the end of the counter. There was also enough counter space for toiletries. There's an open closet area and a nice touch of wall art, and the laminated wood flooring gave the room a clean, modern feel. One of my favorite features was the in-room iPad that controls everything--such a fun tech-forward touch. I also absolutely loved the decor throughout the hotel. The colors are vibrant, playful, and stylish without feeling overdone. The second-floor seating areas were spacious and inviting, and the rooftop/pool space was another highlight. I booked a one-night stay in between cruising. I chose this particular hotel because of its location. The Brickell area is very lively and walkable. The hotel is situated in an excellent location with many restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel proximity to the cruise port was also a factor. My husband and I arrived just before 10 am. As we entered the hotel, we noticed the first floor was not the location of the hotel reception. We slid into the elevator and made our way to the second floor. As we got off the elevator, I did not see the signs pointing to the reception desk. I walked around the corner located the reception desk. I politely asked when I might be able to check in, I was told the hotel had been fully booked due to Valentine's Day the day before, so early check in would not be available. My husband and I made ourselves comfortable on one of the many places to sit. I sat outside on the patio while my husband sat inside. Around 12:30, I went to the front desk to ask if I could do the check in, and have my husband take the keys when the room opened up, because I had an appointment. The young man added my husband's name to the reservation so that my husband could check in while I was away. Per my husband, check in is through the kiosks. As described by the hotel, the "bed won." The king bed takes most of the room from the window to the middle of the room. The sink is located inside the room across from the bathroom. The sink shelves had a wash cloth, a hand towel, the hair dryer, and a tissue dispenser. On the end of the sink was the hand soap and lotion. The sink has counter space to store your toiletries. The closet area has hangers and a lovely wall art. The flooring throughout the room is laminated wood. Over the bed toward the foot of the bed hangs a nice light fixture. There are no outlets near the window. All outlets are by the sink and desk. The desk is accompanied by a white chair with red or orange padding. The chair and desk were comfortable. The iPad which controls everything sits on the desk. There is also a panel by the bed that controls the blind and lighting. The bed was high, and for someone who is 5 feet 2 inches, I had to hike up to get to the side of the window. I wonder how the housekeeping staff are able to make up the beds. The mattress was comfortable. The bed came with 2 king size pillows. The bed definitely needed two pillows. The single pillow per guest was not sufficient. The bed has storage drawers underneath. Adjacent to the sink is a reddish or orangish color bench. The bathroom has the toilet, shower, and towel holder. The towel mat is placed in front of the shower door. The shower size was good. The shower door opened inward. There is a handheld shower head and a rainwater like shower head. The water pressure was great. The gym is small with two treadmills and a few other items. Towels are available. The elevators are very spacious. The elevator music is very good. The rooftop pool has incredible views of Miami. The pool looked great. The bar area is nice too. As a Travel Advisor, I would be mindful as to which clients I would book there. For clients with mobility or accessibility issues, unless they have an accessible room, I would not book them. Climbing over your partner, bedmate, or significant other in order to sleep might be an issue for some people. The height of the bed can be challenging for some guests For cruisers or those with many suitcases, the small space might be an issue. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I did not see the option to check in through the app, and I wondered if this was the norm. As a traveler, I liked the hotel. I like the decor. I like the use of technology in the room. I like the many seating options available on floors 2 and the rooftop space. The second floor seating areas feel very spacious and inviting. Chose to stay at CitizenM as a precruise hotel. The location is perfect...TONS of restaurants, bars and stores in walking distance. It was also a quick ride to the cruise port. I loved the decor, it is very modern and inviting. The main floor is very comfy with tons of seating and outlets. It is a nice space to relax with the bar and restaurant. The staff was also very friendly. The rooftop pool was amazing to hang out in. It looks small but it just enough space to relax. The deck is also very spacious with plenty of seating and a bar. Now the meh.. The room is soo small. The bed is pressed against the window. We had a lot of luggage since we were cruising and it was hard to navigate the small space. Also, we really needed a luggage cart and there wasn't one avaliable. That made it difficult to check in. I was given a small food cart but it didn't quite do the job. There isn't ice available on the floors. I had to go to the bar and get ice which was inconvenient. Depending on the reason for stay, I would stay here again. read more

Location, Location, Location! This hotel has an amazing location! Walking distance to the Arena, to Bayside, to the amphitheater, and more. Restaurants and shops surround it too. We had been here before, at the rooftop bar, and liked the vibe so when we needed a place to stay for the night, in Miami, we decided to book it. Not too expensive, and parking garage (extra $) is conveniently located just steps away. They have a self-check in process, but before you must show your ID and Cc you booked with. Rooms are small but fun and cozy. They remind me of a cruise cabin, with just the necessary... bed, shower, toilet, closet, and sink. Everything in the room is powered and controlled by the iPad included in your room, and this includes the amazing blackout shades. The bed was very comfortable, I slept great! Another plus was the great water and arena view we had. On top of that they have great bars, downstairs at the lobby and a rooftop one too. Downstairs, they also serve breakfast which you can pre-pay for $25 and includes eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, bagels, pastries, yogurt, coffee, tea and more. You can bring to your room or eat at the colorful fun lobby area they have, great for people watching. They also have a late checkout option for a fee, which is great if you want to take advantage of the location and explore the are more. Great weekend place to stay. read more

Beds are very hard, like sleeping on a board. Room wasn't that clean upon arrival. Not terrible, but not good. The soaps and lotions in the bathroom are all in bottles THAT CAN BE OPENED!! They do not use tamper proof bottles!!!!!! This is super UNSANITARY AND UNSAFE!!!!! Anyone could put anything in those bottles. It's just GROSS. Our hairdryer was broken too. We had a really nice stay at the CitizenM. The entire hotel was so clean and modern. The rooftop bar and pool were a very cool vibe. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend getting the breakfast -- It was so delicious. Our only issue was that when we were trying to sleep, the TV wouldn't stay off. We would turn it off using the remote control, the iPad, put the room in sleep mode, everything -- But every 5-10 minutes, the TV would turn on and the "Welcome Citizen ____" screen would light up the room while trying to fall asleep. Also it was difficult to request a room clean. We tried to request it on the iPad one morning around 10am, but the message read that all of the room cleaning requests were already booked for the day. Modern hotel located in the middle of Brickell next to Sexy Fish and the metro mover which makes it convenient to get around downtown. The size of the room is relatively small with a king sized bed, table, and vanity sink in the room. The room sort of reminds me of a hotel in NYC and is pretty cramped but makes use of the space. Check in and check out is easy due to the self service computers in the lobby. They also have an all you can eat breakfast for $23 which had a good variety of eggs, empanadas, pastries, salmon lox, and more! It also includes a barista beverage which is a steal considering a latte would normally cost $6. I would opt for the buffet due to most restaurants in Brickell being pricey. read more

We stayed March 15-16 specifically to watch the MLB Championship Series Semi-Finals. From the moment we checked in, the TV's Chromecast didn't work. We reported it immediately -- a technician came up, couldn't fix it, and blamed our personal devices. We were also accused of not answering the hotel's calls, despite having told staff we'd be stepping out for lunch while they worked. A front desk agent later confirmed the TV wasn't working and promised a full room reset. We were so cooperative we got ready for the game while they were still in the room trying to fix it. We gave them full access while we were out -- and came back to the same broken TV, with a new agent (Marcus) who had zero knowledge of the ongoing issue. When we asked for complimentary breakfast as a small gesture for the inconvenience, it was treated like the problem was our fault. Marcus was kind and promised management would follow up in the morning. They never did. To top it off, the AC stopped working at 7AM and only came back on after I reported it through the room iPad myself. We left without a word because after three promises of follow-up, we had learned not to expect one. Marcus was a bright spot -- but one good employee can't make up for a system that repeatedly failed us and never took ownership. Would not return. PS: Rooms are not soundproof as they claim. You'll definitely be able to see and HEAR all of Brickell. read more

This is a really "it depends what you're looking for" kind of place. When I was booking, this was hands down the cheapest place available that wasn't sketchy looking by a long shot (50% cheaper). This place would be really good for someone who is price-sensitive, traveling alone, and probably at most average sized. I found the room quite small but acceptable as a place to sleep. Everything was clean and modern which I appreciated. The bathroom situation was tight but had a shower and toilet. Sink is between the bed and the door. It feels like you're inside of an RV or a cruise ship. The bathroom was semitransparent which I guess you have to do bc you need the light. I found the controls of the room super bizarre - no temperatures, just a color grid on the table to control the rooms. Check in is on a tablet, use your name and take a picture and upload your ID. Grab a keycard and take a picture of your room number. Some supplies are left next to the check in station - razor, comb, sewing kit. I think the savings are probably worth the human less, self service everything. But it was a very different experience - for example you can't ask someone hey what's your wifi situation or what's the difference between all the rooms available (you pick your own). I would pick this again if traveling alone for the savings and the cleanliness. Can't recommend for larger parties or people who need special accommodations bc a human isn't readily available. I choose to wheel my luggage with me before my flight bc I wasn't confident in leaving it behind after checkout. read more

I loved that we were able to pick between a high or low floor room and pick our view when we checked in. The hotel has a fun vibe and would definitely be good for a solo traveler looking to talk to people. We enjoyed our drinks at the bar and sitting in the common areas. There is also a rooftop pool. The rooms are very small, but they are exactly as advertised. Every room in the hotel is the same which is a great concept! The decor everywhere is fun and vibrant with lots of art. Unfortunately this resulted in us not being able to get access to our room for 2.5+ hours. Check out is 11. On our checkout day I asked if we could have a late check out, just 1 hr. Be out before 12. The receptionist said late checkout was available till 2p but I had to pay $69 and wouldn't accommodate when explained the check in debacle. The hotel was nice. The area was amazing. There was shopping and dining in walking distance. The area was busy. There wasn't a drive up area for Uber, but the hotel did have an area to wait indoors. Check in was different. There were multiple kiosks to check in with a person available to help if needed. I don't know how I felt about that though. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It just took a lot of brain energy after leaving the airport. I was on the 17th floor. I loved how fun and swanky the halls were. The room was very small but, well thought out. It reminded me of a cruise ship room kind of. I wanted to hate it at first but I surprisingly liked it. They also offered larger rooms. But the small one was fine for a solo traveler. I was in town because I was catching a cruise. I got notified that the cruise was 2 hours delayed because of a storm, so I ended up paying for a late check out. That was 69 dollars plus tax to check out at 2 pm. The only problem I had was they automatically checked me out at 11 while I was in the shower and all of the lights in the room turned off which was kind of annoying. But it was a simple call and they got it fixed. Over all the hotel wasn't bad. There was a rooftop pool which was nice and 2 restaurants I believe. I stayed at this hotel after a conver at the Kaseya center. The location is perfect becuase you can walk right to the arena if you are going to an event of a concert. What instantly drove me to this hotel was the decoration. Everything was modern and playful. It is one of those places that is full of random things and somehow it all goes together. I loved that the bar at the hotel was busy after the concert. We were able to get a seat at the bar and have one last nightcap at the end of the night. The room layout was my favorite. They do the best to accomodate everything in the small space but do I dare say that I found it comfy. I liked that the whole room was smart. You control the light and the stereo on an ipad. The bathroom has an open concept. You can see the shower from the room and the sink and the toilet are basically in your room. There isn't much seperation so I wouldn't recommend sharing a room unless you are comfortable with who you are staying with. The check out was really easy and there is a parking garage right next to it, so it is easy to get in and out of the area. I would recommend staying here specially if you have an event at the arena. read more

So my flights from Medellin to Miami was delayed, to the point that I didn't make it to my connector flight to LA. Upon learning this, I booked at room at Citizen M via the Booking.com app. I was able to secure my room before taking off from Colombia, so I had the peace of mind for those 3.5 hours back to the US. Once I landed in Miami, the hotel was a short 20 minute uber ride from the airport. I walked in, and took the elevator to the second floor, where the lobby was located. They have several monitors, where you can do a self check-in, and have staff available if you need help along the way. The check-in process was quick, and I took the elevator up to my room. The room was decorated in an interesting manner. It had a large bed along the window, it had a very modern artsy feel, and everything was controlled by the ipad that sat next to the bed. I unpacked, and went down to get some water and some recommendations for dinner. The staff at the bar gave me two large glass jars to take up to my room, and they gave me some tips on where to dine that evening. I slept pretty good that night, and took a shower before heading down for breakfast. So the breakfast can be an add-on at check in, or you can pay for it the morning of. And I can personally tell you that the breakfast here is amazing! The Hilton can learn a thing or two from this hotel. Citizen M served actual quality food, in a breakfast buffet that hit the spot well. Checkout was just as seamless as check-in, and I was on my way back home. This hotel exceeded my expectations. This is a great option in Miami's Brickell area. I highly recommend this hotel! read more

This is my second time staying here. My husband and I love how modernized the hotel is. Everything is controlled from a tablet. I like that you can change the color of the light in the bathroom and set the mood with sound. However, the room is compact. The bed takes up most of the room and the bathroom is extremely small. Although we like the hotel, I wouldn't be able to stay more than 2 nights here due to the size. I sleep by the side close to the window and had to crawl over my husband to go to the bathroom during the night lol. Check-in was easy. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and nice. The bartender were extremely pleasant and a joy to talk to. Unfortunately, i dont remember his name. The drinks were delicious. We love the rooftop bar/pool. The view was amazing. The only issue that I had was the hair dryer in my room was not working. I called the front desk and after at least 20 minutes I hadn't heard a yes we have one or no we don't. I sent my husband down to the desk to ask and he came back and said "you not getting that blow dryer". They looked in multiple places and couldn't find one. The only option would be taking one from a clean room. I was with it. Shoot, I was going to give it back. I thought about knocking on a neighbors door but just decided to let my hair air dry and hope it didn't frizz up too much. This hotel is also in a great location. read more

The only thing that was a major issue for me it was that the pool area only had 1 working umbrella. Everything was so tidy. I absolutely loved the iPad that controlled everything. It was so convenient. The hotel overall has a very cute vibe. Lots of fun art and sculptures. For checkout, it was so easy. Harvey helped us check out. He let us hold our bags after check out to make the yacht party that the bride had planned. I would like to first start off that the staff was the only thing that was excellent. They were very attentive and super friendly. As for everything else, it was under whelming. The breakfast buffet, I wouldn't waste your money on the add on, same thing each day and the food wasn't that tasteful. Something you can go across the street and get something better for the same price. A big upset is the parking, there is none. We luckily found a parking garage about a block or so away that was flat rate $15 over night until 7am, then you have to pay $15 again when you leave, so essentially $30 per a night. The rooms were very small, along with the bathroom. Zero privacy in the bathroom if that's something you thrive for... lol. The bed was very hard but pillows great along with the black out curtains. But the walls are very thin, you can hear everything. For the price of this stay at this hotel, I would probably go somewhere else for the same price or pay a little bit more somewhere else. read more

Location is great, it's about 2-3 blocks away from the mall and tons of restaurants. most importantly i felt safe here I didn't know how clutch the ipad in the room really was... never experienced a hotel where the ipad controls the lights, tv, room climate, etc until this stay. room is really small but I was impressed how the room was designed with that in mind. So came here for a conference in downtown Miami. Pros - room looked clean, albeit incredibly small. I was able to walk to the Hyatt Regency, which is where the conference was, fairly easily. I paid for the breakfast, which was excellent. Cons - came back to room with some food; went into bathroom and came back to what appeared to be a baby roach on my bed. Immediately killed it and called front desk. Manager came up to room and apologized and moved me to another, larger room (ADA compliant room). But after that experience I couldn't stay here comfortably so I went and stayed at another hotel. I hope that my experience was an anomaly because this is otherwise a decent hotel although I'd only use it for business or if I wouldn't be in the room often since the rooms are so tiny; it's definitely not ideal for more than one person. read more

Stayed here while visiting Miami and it was an underwhelming experience. I hate to sound like a boomer, but the place functions as if it is run by teenagers. There is no concierge as guests have to "punch in" on their own upon arrival and even make their own keys from a kiosk. The people who work there are extremely laid back as if they couldn't have a care in the world and I think this is part of their "appeal," but unappealing to people like me who like order, organization and full service. It gets worse though. My room was tiny like a dorm room and they did not leave me soap or body wash. I had to call down to housekeeping to have both delivered. The next morning, I went to the coffee bar and once again the amateur service was on full display as the barista was struggling to keep up with the orders and kept mixing up everyone's orders. My order was just sitting there lidless while she was frantically trying to appease other customers. FYI go to the 2nd floor for check in kiosks. Moshi was extremely helpful and offered to make us coffee and hold our luggage until we were able to check in. We decided to explore the area and once we returned to the hotel we grabbed a drink prior to checking in. Although the bar only offered Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's until 11am and the staff wad super busy, Harvey and Aliyah were attentive and friendly. The rooms are small compared to traditional hotel rooms but they have all the amenities needed. The mattress was firm and the pillows were soft. The roof top bar has great views of the area and the bartender was also great. All in all I can't say enough about the staff, especially Moshi, Aliyah, and Harvey. A+++ staff. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The decor was fun and inviting once we got in, check in and out was easy and quick, the room was comfortable and the iPad/phone controls through the app is a cool feature as well. We went to their happy hour and used the free drink voucher that came with booking through the app, plus 25%. Kat the bartender took great care of us and had great recommendations for food, which were all delicious like the rosemary fries, cheesy elote balls, empanadas and dumplings. The drinks were also very enjoyable, especially the cucumber and raspberry cocktails. We would stay there again and look into other locations as well. Thank you! read more
