My wife and I spent a week at Faena Hotel Miami Beach in June 2021 for our honeymoon. Apologies for the late review, but it's a stay we still think about fondly. We arrived on a quiet, balmy Sunday night and were immediately assisted at the front desk. It was low season and during COVID, which allowed us to secure a great rate on a spacious Bay View Room with a king-sized bed facing Collins Avenue. Although an ocean-facing room would have been ideal, it was beyond our budget at the time, and we were delighted with what we had. The room felt spacious, tasteful, and peaceful, a perfect place to unwind after days in the sun. We appreciated details like the teal-tiled shower with bench seating, which made rinsing off after the beach feel relaxed, and the Lavazza coffee, a small but appreciated touch that reflects the hotel's European sensibility. We also loved flipping through the Alan Faena Rizzoli book, which gave context to the hotel's aesthetic and philosophy, making the design feel intentional. What truly sets the hotel apart is its atmosphere. It's bold, glamorous, and flamboyant but curated and confident, not excessive. The Latin American influence, mainly from Buenos Aires, blends with European touches and a theatrical flair that's unmistakably Miami Beach. Alan Faena's creative vision is evident everywhere, from architecture to ornate details, embracing glitz and spectacle with taste and purpose. A highlight was dining daily at Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann, usually under the awning. We never got tired of it. Standout dishes included filet empanadas, the Tiger Prawns Salad with grilled shrimp and grapefruit, the burger, and the lobster roll. A memorable moment was seeing Alan Faena himself on-site, casually eating the "Alan Salad" from the lunch menu, very much practicing what he preaches. It reinforced that the hotel is truly lived in and loved by its creator, not just branded. Although we don't go out much these days, we enjoyed happy hour drinks at The Living Room. It balances South Beach glamour with a relaxed, inviting vibe. I'd been there once before as a bachelor late at night, but during happy hour with my wife, it felt completely different. The DJ was fantastic, especially when he played "As" by Stevie Wonder, a song that became our honeymoon anthem and that we listened to on repeat for months. The beach experience was also top-notch. Service was excellent, and the thoughtful touch of having cold water poured over our feet when settling in was something we hadn't experienced anywhere else. Food and drink service on the beach was quick and efficient, no small feat in Miami Beach, and the quality was consistently high. Evenings were especially pleasant. We often relaxed outdoors with a nightcap near the Tree of Life or simply enjoyed the warm Miami air in privacy. The hotel's landscaping is beautiful, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a refined Argentine retreat in Miami Beach. A small critique is that the pool felt a bit small and slightly outdated, though well-maintained. This is understandable given the hotel's Art Deco renovation and didn't affect our overall experience. The location was fantastic. We enjoyed walking along the South Beach path and easily reached restaurants like Joe's Stone Crab, Casa Tua, Cecconi's, and Lucali. We also visited Wynwood for Greek food, accessible by Uber. The hotel's central position between South Beach, Bal Harbour, and Surfside was very convenient. This kind of luxury is usually beyond our reach, so we're grateful to have experienced it during a quieter time. We would love to return and hope to visit the Buenos Aires location someday. The library of us is located right behind the hotel and we're able to get parking right next door in the public lot. This was easy to find because I didn't realize I've been here before but to SoHo Beach club. The piece is in the sand so wear comfortable shoes or none. First time seeing a show in the Faena theatre! It's elegant, well designed and the performance was outstanding both with cast and production. Friendly and well trained waitstaff provide table service food and beverage options. I tried the octopus which was very flavorful and fresh. Visited this hotel recently for a conference. While the service was top notch, I did find some of the catering to be a bit inconsistent for the level of hotel that this should be. Perhaps it was because the conference was very crowded but it also seemed that should have been anticipated as part of the event. Some of the meeting spaces were a bit warm or oddly set up so the venue is geared maybe more towards banquets or other events and while the center across the street is a better set up for larger groups it is better for several hundred and not in the thousands. Also there was a lot of confusion as several conference attendees made reservations that were canceled at the restaurant without notice unless they were staying at the hotel and these were for important meetings that occurred during the conference. It didn't help that spring break was happening at the same time. It didn't seem that the hotel was fully equipped to handle both large events at the same time. read more

Went to the living room for drinks with friends. What a fun time the decor is always my favorite. You feel like you're in a mob wives home with all the cheetah print dark red. I love it. They were able to make one of their cocktails into a mock tail for me definitely pricier but worth it for the ambience. Everybody looks like they're having a good time. The food looked amazing. We didn't have any, but I was noticing all the trays is passing by. Definitely make a reservation, especially for the weekends they get packed. read more

Faena Miami is a bit old, but the service is excellent and the staff are very kind. Breakfast is delicious, although service can be slow. The hotel's steakhouse is absolutely amazing - a must-try (ask for a table facing the Living Room). I booked through Amex FHR and mentioned I'd arrive around 2:30-3:00 PM, but even by 4:00 PM the room wasn't ready - a downside for FHR guests. Also, on the 5th floor it took 20-25 minutes for hot water to arrive each time. Other than that, the service was great, and the hotel offers complimentary car rides for guests. We booked our stay through Capitol One Travel. It was very disappointing to check in, expecting an upgrade from our credit card status, and not getting one. This hotel is just over the top, elegance and elevated modern Miami classy. The lobby of this hotel is unlike any other place I have been to. Just the murals and the ambience and the tone that it sets as soon as you step in is over the top. Now I'm not really sure what was happening the evening that I arrived here, however, there was literally a receiving line of at least six people greeting me at the front door, holding the door open as well and welcoming me. I highly doubt it was for me, but clearly, I had some great timing and they did work for the hotel. Did a lot of exploring around the property as well and their cocktail bar area is also equally over the top. When you people watching there and see the type of people, it is out of this world. Again when you go into the welcoming or concierge area of the hotel, as well as the sitting room and the refreshments area. This is so impressive. It almost feels like a different type of Miami but with a much cooler chic vibe. The staff here is very indulgent and considerate of whatever you ask and whatever you need. This place has an understated, European elegance to it with great food and service, plus the location and beach is amazing! While we were off to a slightly rough start, where they didn't honor the complimentary upgrade for AMEX and I had to ask for it and wait close to an hour to switch rooms, this was the biggest issue we had. Unfortunately all they did was send a cheap bottle of wine as a concession. The regular rooms are small and don't have a sitting area, not his and hers sinks. This makes the room feel small and not luxurious. When we got updated to the suite, it was a major difference. Huge bathroom with separate tub and shower, lots of space, his and hers and a huge living room area to sit and relax or even have someone over. Lots of closet space, mini bar, etc. The food at the hotel is great, foodie approved and lots of seafood and beautiful presentation and well balanced flavors. The living room bar is great for night time and live bands to dance and people watch. Although on Sunday night the band they had was weird and didn't fit the vibe. The beach is gorgeous, you get two chairs and umbrella, beach service and a relaxing atmosphere. This place is expensive but overall we felt it was worth it. read more

Very fancy, grand, gaudy hotel. Stayed here for a four nights while visiting south Florida; fun experience but probably wouldn't stay here again. The customer service was superb, from check-in, to check-out, were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel lobby and restaurants inside were all luxurious; beautifully painted art on the walls, grand gold columns when you first walk in, and large chandeliers throughout. Several restaurants and bars, as well as a burlesque show and spa, inside as well. Restaurants are all pretty average food quality, and unfortunately way overpriced (see individual reviews). Small pool in the back with a nice poolside setup (sunblock, towels, and water offered), plenty of chairs and umbrellas, as well as a couple of hot tubs. Cabanas (for a fee) and food are available as well. Private beach area behind the pool, that also has service you can order (like the pool), and umbrellas readily available (free). The room itself is what did not impress me for the price. VERY small room, and nothing "special" about it- other than a fancy bidet (in most rooms, but not all). Room service is available 24/7 though, and there are snacks and drinks (water and alcohol) in the room. Overall, thought it was a beautiful hotel, very over-the-top decor, but definitely overpriced. Good location; to the pool, beach, boardwalk behind the hotel, and South Beach itself. Also close to the airport!! read more

I haven't stayed in the hotel proper but I've had the pleasure of attending more than a few cultural events here! The beautiful cultural vibe starts with their lobby art - philosophical concepts turned into art that will make some folk adjust their tinfoil hats. Yummy aromatherapy in the lobby as well as comfy settee. Keep going out toward the terrace, you can either scoot over to the restaurants on the left or right, or keep walking further to the beach. See the wooly mammoth sculpture? I've taken my share of photos there and perhaps pondered the meaning of opulence and gold near the waterfront. You can either cut into the little niche bar or continue walking to the beach itself. My most recent cultural happenings on the Faena sand include the illuminated barricade and Living Room Exhibits during Art Basel as well as the second round of DayBreaker. DayBreaker is a conscious rave - no alcohol - on the sand behind the beautiful Faena property starting with an hour of yoga on the sand and climaxing in a 2 hour dance party right the water. When I've gotten hungry after all the art culture, I've enjoyed dinner either outdoor at Living Room, Gitano or Pao (which I've reviewed separately). Is it pricey? Yep! But it's definitely a great spot for a first date or otherwise fun night out. read more

WARNING: Do not come here on Art Basel weekend expecting that you would get a drink at their outside bar. The area was packed which is pretty normal given that it is Art week or any bar in Miami. What I did not like is the service. The bartender that we were waiting in line for did have his system, but he was prioritizing other customers who seemed like they look "fancier" than others. And when my friend asked if we were next (mind you we were there for 25 mins already) - the bartender gave her an attitude saying that he needed to take of the people that came after us. I mean I get that working in a bar is very hectic, but I've been to Club Space & LIV (equally as busy places) and I was able to get a drink right away at the bar. So we decided to leave our spot. The redeeming factor of the night is that there was a champagne/wine station separate from the bar in which the bartender was really sweet and we got our drinks right away. As we explored the hotel, there is another bar upstairs that we could've gotten drinks as well. I wish the bar staff at that bar told us that there are other bar stations in the hotel, instead of making us wait there. That would've at least help with their workload too. read more

You will not find the clean lines and natural fabrics and textures in the 1Hotel, but rather, a variety of animal prints and reds throughout the lobby and restaurants. Best spa in Miami. Hands down. Enjoyed an 90 min massage with Irene. One of my top 5 spa experiences. The facial was good but not the best as I prefer deeper exfoliation , yet it was great that they used Biologique Recherche products. Additionally you can use their steam room, sauna room, and hamman. Everything was clean, beautiful, spacious, - good towels and great service. Didn't like their slippers though which probably better for people with narrower feet With longer treatments you also get to enjoy the grounds so we had reserved chairs at the beach ! After hearing so much about this hotel I decided to give it a try. The hotel is sitting right on Miami Beach and my issue was construction and banging on my hotel room at 7am because they were doing repairs. (Not sure why they think hammering at 7am would be ok in a hotel charging these prices). I spoke to the manager during my stay (Jose Cerna) and explained the constant issue of construction from my room to the poolside. He texted me during the stay and offered to "invite" us back to the hotel and and after a few emails no response. This place is gorgeous and probably the only top rated 5 star hotel in south beach that truly lives up to the rating. I'm only listing 4 stars because of the pool area (there isn't an adult section), so be prepare to endure a lot of kids and babies running rampant (lol). Also they allow people to smoke cigarettes in the pool section. The suites whether it's partial or full oceanfront is gorgeous. To get the entire experience, I do not recommend reserving anything other than that or you'll be greatly disappointed. As the other rooms are extremely small without a lot of features and including a desk, etc. My room was the mini suite with partial oceanfront views and it was breathtaking. The colors, the patterns and heated toilet that opens up on it's own, as you enter. 2 Sinks! 2 TVs for the bedroom and living room. You can mirror your phone to watch all of your downloaded movies, YouTube, etc. The in-room Dinning selections everything. The breakfast is one the best (probably the only), I've had in a while and I travel a lot to 5 stars hotels. The SPA is one of the best. I highly recommend a massage with Shaun. There's a Wetbar, Steam Room, Sauna and Scrub shower that's open. While a lot other hotels have it closed due to Covid. Pros - Gorgeous Mini and full Suites with partial or full views - Excellent Staff - The Best In Room Dinning - The Best Breafast you'll ever taste - Heated Toilet that opens up, as you approach it. - 2 TV's in the Suites - 2 Sinks in the Suites - Comfortable Bed - The Best Spa with a Sauna, Wetbar - Design and patterns are breathtaking Cons - Pool area sadly is tiny and there isn't a section for adults. Just an FYI a lot of families bring their kids and babies, so expect for it to be loud and get overly crowded. This section was also dirty along with the seat cushions. - They also allow people to smoke cigarettes in the pool area. My first time ever seeing this to be allowed in a 5 star hotel unless it's Vegas. read more
