Excellent food and excellent service! We arrived here at around 2. The restaurant was empty except for another table. We were welcomed as soon as we came in and sat down. My husband ordered the food as he is more familiar with the Korean cuisine. We ordered two main dishes which come with the regular sides of kimchi and other little dishes that go very well with the food. The mains also came with 2 bowls of rice. We didn't order any drinks, just water. The food came out pretty quickly. It was served on sizzling plates. The beef was so tender and juicy, it had so much flavor. The price was pretty reasonable for the delicious food and great service. The place is pretty clean. It is worth mentioning that I found it by checking out he visit Tucson website. I thought it must be a great place to make it to their list and it didn't fall short of that. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Tucson! read more

I dined here last evening w/one of my Meetup groups & we all enjoyed the dinner. "Russel", the owner's son, was our terrific server. Very polite and quite helpful. I had a flavorful Korean beer, which gave me a good appetite while I enjoyed the banchan, a sampling of several cold appetizers. My main course was a pork belly, squid combo w/veggies and purple rice served on the side. I highly recommend this family-owned restaurant! read more

What fun! Super friendly and loving staff! A busy little place. Nothing fancy just a clean place. There is a wide variety to select from! We ordered the short ribs and pork belly with vegetables. All this accompanied with assorted selections of cucumber, sprouts, spicy cabbage, potato salad etc. The flavors were wonderful. You have options on spice level! The short ribs were so nicely done and loaded with flavor. The pork belly and vegetables was very nice. A beautiful red sauce helped develop the flavors. The wait staff was a lot of fun! Enjoyed the visit and the food! Very laid back! One of the TV's had Korean programming and some customers were glued to the screen! read more

Definitely one of our favorite Korean restaurants in Tucson. I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes I have tried. A few of my favorites are the Kimchi Jjigae, Beef Bulgogi, and Dolsot Bibimbap. You can't go wrong with Kimbap as your appetizer. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, it's also nice that they have extended hours. read more

Continuing our food adventures in Tucson, we checked out this spot as we wanted to hit all the places we couldn't get home. Good Korean food doesn't exist in Knoxville, TN. Kimchi Time is a little spot in a departmental shopping center and when you walk in, it's pretty much the dining room and that's about it. There's a bar but they served very limited amount of alcohol. They had soju and your normal beer, but it wasn't really anything special. For food, I got the the dolsot bi-bim-bap.It was alright. Was it legitimate? Yes. Was it safe? Yeah. So my advice to you is if you don't want anything scary or "exotic", bi bim bap is where you go. It's basically a bowl of rice with some protein and veggies. It's pretty simple, the difference about this one was that it was served in a clay pot which basically charred the rice. It can get pretty hot in temp so be careful! Kimchi Time wasn't bad especially for what it is in Tucson and it serving the area. Not bad for Korean food, and you'll probably definitely have something better if you go to another city. But overall it was okay and I would say if you wanted a true Korean experience to try other places, but if you don't have anything around this could be a substitute. read more

Amazing food and great service. 100% recommend if you like Korean food. The menu isn't overly complicated and lots to try.

Took my daughter for her 24th B-Quiet little place. Service was fast. Not a bad price.

I can't believe I live near this place and just found it after being here 3 years ago. the Bibimbap and accompaniments were excellent. Friendly staff/owners. Super enjoyable. This place will now be on the regular rotation for sure. read more

This tucked away gem on Broadway is excellent! The food is well portioned, well prepared, very savory and they offer Jinro Soju, (accept no substitute). Very attentive staff, and just a great example of Korean BBQ for Tucson. Stop in and check it out. Small venue good for dates, or foodies looking for authentic Korean food! read more

HELLO KIMCHI TIIIIME. Oh ", the wonderful memories I've made here with all of my wonderful friends. I am oh, so grateful for this restaurant. The food is so delicious. I've came here so many times with my friends. The Kimchi fried rice is wonderful, bbimbap, kimbap (my go-to appetizer, and lover), ramen, ddeobboki, jjajangmyun; all that I've tried and got the opportunity to close authentic Korean food there is. The bathroom is well-kept, maintained cleanliness. The older lady we often see there is so friendly she gives menu recommendations on what to try if you ask. My friends always enjoy the food here, we come sometimes at odd hours if the day just to try some food. And many other experiences here at Kimchi Time. Thanks for the memories and that delicious food! We feel so at home there! read more

This place was an absolute win! We went on a whim/craving on a Monday, walk in, turns out they're only doing takeout (this isn't always the case - they were short staffed... and it was a Monday), but that was fine by us! When I told the young man working I was a vegetarian, he assured me I could easily order anything that had a "v" next to it and I could either get it without meat or even add tofu if I wanted protein. I ordered the Dok Bok Ki and my husband went with the Pork Bulgogi. He immediately put in the order to ensure we would get our food as fast as possible, and then rung us up. We went for a walk and then took a seat in the car to finish up waiting (it really wasn't a long wait - 15 minutes?), he came out to the car with our food, and sent us on our way. Pause before getting into how good the food was to talk about how great the service was. The young man who helped us was beyond cheerful, super helpful, and just embodied happiness and positivity. We left wanting to be his best friend because his great attitude just made us happy (and that was after a long day of work that left us both sour). Onto the food. Everything got home securely without any spills or issues, and we were ready to dig in. The kimchi that came with our meal was 100% addicting. My husband kept having to pause and make sure I got some because he was shoveling it down. We also got some Tofu Jeon - simple but delicious. My husband's Pork Bulgogi made him question his love for me, as he was obsessed; perfectly spicy and flavorful. My vegetarian Dok Bok Ki was to die for - spicy, filled with the delicious rice cake things, tons of noodles, plenty of veg, and even after we got home 15 minutes later, crazy hot, so I didn't miss out on the fun of blowing on my food to cool it to the exact right temp. Our meals cleared out our sinuses and left our stomachs full and happy. It's going to be hard not to head back every night! read more

I came here with 3 other coworkers. I think we were just kind of like, we had a hard day, let's get some people together and go out to eat somewhere. One of the travel nurses had this idea, and then she ended up bailing (-_-). Anyways, there was still 4 of us so we decided to try this place. I have no idea how my 2 coworkers got there before me since I'm pretty sure I left before them. Oh well. We decided to order a few appetizers while waiting for the fourth person. So one person ordered dumplings (the fried mandu). I ordered the meat pancakes (meat jeon). When the fourth person came, we ordered our entrees. Two of them got the same bibimbap rice and two of us got the spicy tofu stew ( Soon Doo Bu Chigae) which came with a side of rice. Also with our meals, was the little side dishes of picked vegetables and kimchii. The soup was supposed to be spicy but it was surprisingly not too spicy, which was nice. I actually really liked this place and I would return. It's close to where I live. It's not too expensive. The service is quick. The restaurant is a bit small but otherwise, great place. read more

For someone that has been to Korea several times and was deployed there for over a year I have to truly say that this place is as authentic a Korean restaurant as you'll get. I really like their bimin bop! My fiancé got yakisoba and she really loved it. It is on the pricier side but that's what you expect for Korean food seeing that most of the ingredients are homemade or imported. I spent $50+ on lunch for two main dishes, a beer, raspberry wine and a appetizer. The staff are very friendly too. I read some of the other reviews and I guess it really depends on which dish you get and what times. I enjoyed what I got and I thought it was pretty authentic. Just go and make up your own mind. read more

I only really come to this restaurant when I am desperately in the mood for Korean food, but it is good none the less. It is situation next store to Laffs Comedy Club, so if you want good food it is just a few steps away. The service here is a mixture of very attentive and very awkward. Half of the time they treat you like family and the other half of the time they seem to want to rush you out of the restaurant. When my boyfriend and I came here last we got the family treatment. Consistently the food here is near excellent. The Kimbop (almost like a sushi roll, but with meat in it) was exceptionally good. The beef on the inside was well seasoned and very tender, a feat not often accomplished when pieces of meat are small enough to fit into a roll. It also made a nice textural contrast to the raw vegetables. It was served with purple rice, which I did not think made much of a difference in comparison to white or brown rice. We also got the Osam Bulgogi (spicy squid and pork), the grilled pan fried mackerel, and the Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream. The entrees came with all of the traditional side dishes that you receive with Korean meals, which allowed you to personalize your own dish. These were very good and well prepared, just not a memorable as the Kimbop. This restaurant is a good one to go to when you are in the mood for Korean, without having to go to a Korean BBQ. We very much enjoyed it. read more

Good food and it's a new vibe from before. Downside is that the AC is barely functioning and the tiny thing cannot cool off the whole place. The dishes and soup were great but it was just hard to eat while sitting and sweating. Hopefully they can get that fixed. read more

Food was so delicious and the staff is so sweet! We had the beef spring rolls which were fresh and paired well with the sauce it arrived with. Kimchi pancake was great. Bibimbap came sizzling in its hot stone pot with the savory beef. Be sure to ask for some soy sauce and the red sauce . The egg does come raw , but bury it underneath the hot sizzling beef and veggies, and in a few minutes it's been cooked through and ready to enjoy. We are out of towners. We just left and we already miss this place. It's times like these I wish I had more than one stomach so I can continue to order and eat. Highly recommend ! read more

Look at my photo. My cold noodle (Nang Myun)is bubbling. That was so wield! I tasted the bubbly liquid first before mixing it with the sauce, and it was either Sprite or 7 up!! This is definitely not authentic Korean food. Just WRONG!!Trust me! I'm Korean and from Los Angeles. I laughed for a minute when the food was served. The galbi (short rib) was really thin. About half of what I get from any other place. I can see that the owner is trying to save money. Now for the side dish. Kimchi just tastes like ginger... I can only taste vinegar and sesame seeds from thin cut radish (moo chae). They got it wrong.. They put too much pepper on bean sprouts. Radish cubes does not have any flavor. Is it radish with food color? I usually don't write long comment. I am not saying everything was wrong. Galbi tastes okay. Just meat was too thin and yet very tough. Noodle sauce was good. Tailored so that it's not too spicy, but pouring Sprite on the noodle is just disgusting and disrespectful for Korean food serving business and customers. I really want people to read my comment so that it can give awareness to the owner to improve. read more

Love the service and food. I go here almost every other week. The people are nice & the beef bulgogi is to die for there.

Not what it used to be. Kimbop was old, stale, and fishy. Waited over an hour for our food. Realized they forgot our entrees after they asked "would you like anything else"? After waiting 45 minutes with only stale kimbop on the table. When I said "we'd like the rest of our food" our waitress responded with "let me check on that". No apology or even acknowledgement that they forgot our food. Incredibly disappointing and a waste of my night. Never coming back. read more

So, prior to the pandemic I used to come a lot. This visit was the first time since then. I came with my girls for my graduation. (Speaking of they were very sweet to bring me a sundae unprompted!) My boyfriend won a football bet and his prize was to choose dinner. He wanted to go to Seoul Kitchen, but after reading Isabella J's SK review, we decided to try Kimchi Time instead and we're so glad we did! The tables were full at 8 pm, which is a testament to their popularity and solid food. The servers were very friendly, but not the most attentive. I did have to flag them a few times but they were especially responsive. We ordered the mandu, spicy Korean wings, dolsot bi bam bap, and grilled gal bi - all dishes I highly recommend! They serve everything piping hot, maybe too hot. The wings weren't too spicy in my opinion (I can barely do hot cheetohs). I loved my sweet delicious gal bi. They also provide 5 sides including different kimchi vegetables and sweet mashed potatoes (I asked for extra). Finish your meal with red bean ice cream and I guarantee you'll leave with a happy belly. read more

Good food from what strikes me as a mom & pop joint. I arrived with a large party and they took care of us pretty well. I had the shrimp and noodles, which I can't recall what it was called. Great food and service! The Pork and Beef Bulgogi are our go tos! The Kimchi is also delicious. Highly recommend!!!

I've only been to Korean restaurants a handful of times, but I really enjoyed the food here. We had tofu and some pork dumplings as appetizers, and these were very flavorful. For the entrée, I ordered the beef bulgogi with rice. This came steaming hot on a sizzling platter, and was super yummy. I think it could have used a little more sauce on the meat though, but then again, I just like having tons of sauce with my food, so I can mix it in with the rice too. I enjoyed the small side dishes that came out after our appetizers. One tasted like coleslaw, there were some vegetable dishes, and a couple of kimchi dishes. Each of these side dishes added extra flavor when grabbing a bite with a mouthful of entrée in your mouth. A few of my friends complained that their dishes were too spicy, and that it was hard to enjoy their dishes, since the spice was overwhelming. I looked at their dishes and they were pretty red from all the spiciness. Maybe the restaurant should ask customers how spicy they would like their dishes? All, in all, I had a pleasant experience at Kimchi Time. The employees were friendly and attentive, and every seat in the place was filled. Delicious aromas from the kitchen permeated in the air. I definitely plan on going back sometime soon! read more

Cute little joint that everyone raves about. I'll agree this is one of the best Korean spots in Tucson, but definitely not the best. It's a small little hole in the wall family restruant type if business. Everything about it just seems homey, from the decor to the friendly servers. I ordered the Kailbi and surprisingly the portion was a lot smaller than I expected. The food was tasted something one of my Koreans friends moms would make; delicious, but not 5 star restaurant quality. All meals come with those infamous 6 small side dishes. All amazing! I was just disappointed to hear that after the second round, my party of 6 would have to pay. Overall, cute little stop that everyone should try especially if they don't want to go to an overcrowded restaurant. read more

I've been here many occasions and have waited to write a review because I've been wavering between 3 and 4 stars. A solid 3.4 would be most appropriate, hence the 3 star rating. The food is decent and so far among the better Korean restaurants I have been to in Tucson. The banchan is so-so. It's mostly teeny tiny portions of kimchi (plus a potato salad). I suppose this is appropriate given the name of the restaurant. They will refill if you ask (several times). Even with a medium sized party splitting 1 meager set, they would not refill all or give a second set. We had to ask for each individually as they were completely eaten and had to request them numerous times because they kept "forgetting." . The entrees are decent. I almost always get the stone bowl bibimbap at Korean restaurants but I have stopped because I'm not a fan of their rice. They use a combo white and purple rice that is overcooked and mushy. The toppings for the bibimbap is excellent. I also do like their bulgogi and jap chae. I have never had a problem with their service until my last encounter with a party of 6ish. Besides constantly reminding the waitress about missing items or refills on Banchan, we were very rushed to finish our meal. The check was plopped on the table without a word before we were even halfway done with our meal. I hope they were just having a bad day because I was really surprised and turned off by this service experience. Overall, a very solid option for Korean food in Tucson. I do recommend this place but would think twice about bringing a group. read more

I've had a lot of Korean food in my time, including IN South Korea, so unfortunately, in my opinion, the food at Kimchi Time was mediocre. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was neat, and from what I could tell, clean. We got a seafood pancake as an appetizer, which was light and fluffy but did not taste like or appear to have much seafood in it. I ordered the japchae with beef as an entree, which was entirely too sweet. I don't know if this is to appease western palates, but it was like eating candied meat and noodles. I was also disappointed that they did not offer any kind of naengmyeon (a cold noodle entree). We are, in Tucson, after all. It'd be a refreshing option to have during the summer in the desert. read more

It's a cute little place with all the classics. I've been here twice now and I really wanted to give it a higher review but the food just takes so long to arrive. It's common to wait at least half an hour, even when it's now busy. I feel really bad for the server because she's the only one that works here and she is excellent. The food is average. So far I've had the kimbap, jajangmyun, and kimchi fried rice. The jajangmyun was fairly bland but the other two dishes were quite tasty. I appreciate the kpop they always have playing.
