I will admit my review must be taken in light of my expectations which were 4+ Yelp stars high. My first impression when walking in was that of a Denny's with a slightly upscale set of ceiling fans and a bar. The ambience is confusing I expected more from an island eatery. My chicken parm was a bit dry at the edges but otherwise tasty enough. The honey walnut butter that came with the bread was excellent, and my wife loved her Thai curry shrimp. My sister and law have come to Block Island every September for 9 years . This was our first visit to Kimberlys. The food was amazing. We ordered Shrimp Fra Diavolo.It was a perfect blend of seafood, al dente pasta and a sweet and spicy red sauce. The Lobster Bisque was the best I have ever tasted. We had delicious side salads with a tasty creamy peppercorn dressing. The service was phenomenal with Katherine as our server. Kimberley herself came over to ask how we were enjoying our food. Wow. From start to finish this place was fabulous! This beautiful little spot on Block is perfect for dinner - I'm vegetarian so it can be hard to find a good meal on the island sometimes, but Kimberly's definitely caters to all manner of dietary woes and offers plenty to choose from, even gluten free! Started with seriously tasty warm bread and butter - I think it was a sourdough? I don't know, but it was really really great! Perfectly warm, chewy and soft, with a little crunch on the crust. I had the arugula salad with roasted/grilled corn and added beets. the dressing was divine, the greens were fresh as could be, the corn was cooked perfectly and SO sweet, the beets were plentiful and tender. Absolutely delicious, generous portion and very reasonably priced. My mom had some fish dish (panko crusted cod I think?) with rice and vegetables, she was really happy and it too was a generous portion and seemed perfectly cooked and fresh. We shared the grilled vegetable appetizer, they were good but I'd probably skip them next time, I think they could maybe come up with something a little more exciting for a veg app, but everything was cooked well. We also had a side of fries - they are my favorite fries on the island for sure!!! Big hearty thick steak fries, and lots of them, cooked perfectly as well. Oh, also had a glass of sangria - it was light and refreshing, but maybe a tiny bit too watered down for my taste. They had a nice selection of wine and some ginger cocktail I think I'll try next time. Another great place in Block Island! The restaurant was busy for the day before thanksgiving, but service didn't falter. I had a pot sticker special and their seasame soy salad, which was mostly noodles and enough for two. Their chicken parm was amazing, and came with extra heapings of Parmesan cheese. Kimberly's Went to Kimberly's tonight for dinner. It is my birthday today and wanted something special. My husband and I were not disappointed. Excellent place off the "main drag". But go if you want excellent food, excellent service and a new, clean, family friendly restaurant. We had the Beet Salad with feta cheese, roasted asparagus & peppers, and a citrus vinegarette dressing. Amazing. My husband had the Pan Seared Salmon- outstanding. I had the Open Face steak sandwich on Homemade Foccachia, served with hot French Fried Potatoes and Homemade lightly coated onion rings. Out of this world. We didn't have reservations, but the very friendly host was able to seat our party of four right away. We really enjoyed the food. Our son liked the chicken teriyaki potstickers from the specials menu. My husband had the Sunday night prime rib and gave it a thumbs up. Kimberly's food, I haven't tried all of them, but I really do get the disappointment of their flavor of food. Though the fries are unusual, and some restaurants do serve fries in that exact same kind, it's pretty disappointing that I don't get the flavor of deliciousness I have to appreciate. I do remember trying steak there and didn't like it, but either it's not on the menu or else I had imagination during one of those two times I went there. My wife and I decided to try Kimberly's while we were staying at the Surf Hotel. So so happy we did. Absolutely delicious. My wife had roasted duck and I had lobster Mac and cheese. Best ever. We ended up at Kimberly's after the wait at The Poor People's Pub was too long for us. We stepped inside and the hostess (who was also our waitress) informed us that we just made it before their kitchen closed. I don't like coming to a restaurant too close to closing time because I think it's a little rude, but the service was friendly and attentive. I hesitated ordering the lobster mac n cheese because of the $28 price tag and the fact that there were mushrooms in it (not a huge fan of them, if you can't tell) . My boyfriend said it doesn't matter as long as it was worth it. Well, it was definitely worth it. It was creamy and delicious, and it was hot, just what I needed on a chilly night. Even the mushroom was good and it nicely complemented the dish. There was so much lobster in it that left me full and satisfied. I would have this again, that's for sure. read more

We really liked this Restaraunt. We went on the earlier side, around 7 and it wasn't very busy then and we easily got a table. We didn't have reservations and it was a Wednesday night. Right around 7:30 the Restaraunt filled up quickly. We started with the red curry mussels which were amazing and the arugula salad which had roasted corn and the most amazing herb dressing ever! For entrée's, I had the grilled swordfish and my wife had the seared salmon. The swordfish was tasty but a little thin and on the slightly overlooked side. The salmon was the better of the two dishes with a nice crust and tasty sauce. Accompanying vegetables were good. The service was good and Kimberly the owner cane over to say hello and to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. Good overall experience. read more

Our first time at Kimberley's and it really delivered. The special lamb lollipops were amazing and large. Salmon and grilled veggies were perfectly done. The chef understands flavor. We went last weekend. It's off season and there isn't much to pick from but we were pleasantly surprised! My open face steak sandwich was tender and flavorful! We asked for a beer that they didn't have what we asked for. The waitress instead of saying sorry we don't have that but we have .............. had to go get beverage menu. Which had maybe 5 beers at the most on it. My friend loved her steak and her husband liked his Bourbon glazed chicken. It might have looked a bit boring but it was packed with flavor !!! I have been going to Block Island every summer for over 30 years now; this past week was the first time I've been to Kimberly's. I loved it so much, that I went one night and then back again three nights later. This place is a gem! The service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean, the decor is beautiful and comfortable, the available parking is a nice bonus. The star of the show is the food! The warm and crusty bread with garlicky olive oil they give you at the beginning of your meal is scrumptious. On my first visit, I got the chicken teriyaki potstickers appetizer; the potstickers were just the right amount of crispy, and the chili sauce they were served with was delicious; I liked these so much, that I got them again on my 2nd visit. On my first visit I had the Plain and Simple White Fish; don't let the name fool you, this fish dish was incredible! The fish was cooked perfectly - flaky and moist. The accompanying rice and vegetables were delicious. On my 2nd visit, I got the Miso Glazed Cod - literally the best fish I have ever had! And the accompanying basmati rice/roasted corn curry succotash, wow! I don't even have the words to describe how outstanding it is. I wish I could jar up that succotash because I would be thrilled to eat it every day! Amazing! I skipped dessert, but would like to try something on a future visit. I am very much looking forward to dining at Kimberly's again next summer. Bravo! read more

Kimberly's is not the first place you would think of going to when you get to Block Island. It's located next to the supermarket and it doesn't look particularly "beachy". But if you want exceptional food - which is hard to find on the island aside from Eli's - this is the place. I'm not going to cover the menu - other than to say that everything we have had at this restaurant was carefully put together, flavorful and delicious. The one thing that I'm still thinking about is the seafood bouillabaisse . This is the most spectacular bouillabaisse that I have had in my life. It is crack. Parking can be challenging due to grocery store and people parking there but then going across the streets to PPP or Nicks. I can't say enough about this place! We decided to go on Yelp recommendations, but the Yelp site said it was closed. On a whim, I called (after all, it was a busy summer day on BI) and sure enough, they were open! The first tjing I noticed as we were being led to the table outside, was the wafting smell of the Linden trees. (They smell so pretty, we had to ask) Our AMAZING server, Elshia, was funny, sweet and on top of everything for us. I chose Steak Au Poivre and my husband went with a swordfish special that was topped with lobster meat. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. One of the few restaurants open after Columbus Day. Everyone raves about lobster Mac and Cheese but I found it merely average. I understand the $30 is BI modified but it was a bit dry. The seafood fra diablo was very good and I'd probably get this next time, the shrimp and corn chowder and the pot stickers they had on special, the fried oysters and chicken sandwich got thumbs up but none were exceptional. Bartender messed up drinks, which happens, but it took a signal flare to get waitress's attention. Once there she quickly, and graciously fixed. I love visiting Block Island and will now make sure to eat at Kimberly's every time I am on the island. The setting is adorable, service is great and the food was DELICIOUS!! I had a lobster roll and the lobster was so fresh and tasty, and the fries that came with it were the most unique shaped fries I've ever seen they were so cute. They also serve Narragansett beer, which is one of the best beers I've ever had and I'm pretty sure you can only get it in Rhode Island. I would recommend Kimberly's to anyone visiting Block Island, and I have eaten at other restaurants there that don't even come close to the wonderful experience I had here.
