TigerFish was a nice break from all the seafood places on Block Island. It's not right on the main street, so it's a lot quieter and more laid back. The patio outside is really clean and comfy, and it's a great spot to have lunch. What really caught my attention was the Peking Duck Quesadilla , it was AMAZING. The flavors all worked so well together, and I would definitely order it again. One thing that was a bit of a problem was that it was kind of hard to eat, everything kept falling apart, but it was so good that it didn't really matter. We got a bunch of other things too, like General Tso's Chicken, coconut rice, crab rangoons, coconut shrimp, and a shrimp sushi roll. everything was really good and fresh. The coconut rice was a great side dish, and the crab rangoons were gone in no time. The drinks were also really good, One thing though, they didn't put a lot of liquor in them, but they were still fun to drink. Our server was really great, and did a fantastic job, especially since we had a big group of 12 people. We get that it can be tough to handle a table that size. The only problem we had was with the timing of the food. Some of us got our appetizers and main courses before the others had even gotten their appetizers. It wasn't a huge issue, but it's something the kitchen could work on to make sure big groups feel like they're eating together. It would be great if they could improve that, so everyone can enjoy their meal at the same time. I would definitely go back to TigerFish. It's a great choice if you want something different from the usual Block Island food. They have really tasty food, great drinks, and a nice quiet atmosphere. read more

We stumbled across Tigerfish using the Karpo app, and I'm surprised it took me this long to try it. I've been visiting Block Island for years--hundreds of times, in fact--but had never stopped here before. We visited midweek, so it was fairly quiet. The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk from the ferry and offers plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. Service was fast, friendly, and especially helpful when it came to identifying which menu items were vegan or could be modified, which we really appreciated. We ordered the B.Y.O. Tofu Spring Rolls and the Pork Potstickers. Both appetizers were generously sized. The spring rolls were fresh and flavorful, but having to assemble them myself at the table was a bit messy and took away from the enjoyment. I would have preferred them to come fully prepared. That said, they were still quite tasty. The pork potstickers, on the other hand, were a standout and an easy favorite of the meal. One downside was that the doors were open to enjoy the beautiful weather, but that also meant we were battling flies throughout our meal, which was a little distracting. Overall, Tigerfish was a great find with good food, knowledgeable service, and a convenient location. Despite a couple of minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely return on a future trip to Block Island. read more

Loved it here on previous visits..... last night not at all. Appetizers were good but it took at least 20 or more minutes after those plates were taken & the server said the meal should be out shortly before dinner arrived. Food was ok but curry dish was almost grainy and no real flavor. We sat out which was nice & comfortable. This Asian cuisine restaurant's menu is filled with tasty choices. I got a small share plate of beef tacos that literally melted in my mouth! Everything about them were cooked perfectly... flavorful meat with a warmed flour tortilla that gave it the perfect crunch. They also had a variety of gluten free options. The bartenders were attentive and made small talk with us as we ate. This restaurant's decor stands out for sure. It makes you feel like you've stepped into another country. Love this place! Food just o.k. This negative review is based on inept service and spotty delivery of food. Waited for water, waited for menus, waited for drinks, waited for food, server forgot part of order and by the time it came everyone else in party had finished. Inexcusable not to comp part of this $350 meal. It would have been appropriate for manager to at least come over and apologize for his staff's error. We dined here for dinner. It was busy but they were able to squeeze the five of us at a four top table to avoid a 45 minute wait. The food choices were really great...something for all eaters. The prices seemed high but the portions are large. Drinks were tasty too. The host seems overwhelmed at his job and maybe not great at being inventive on seating. The owner stepped in to suggest we squeeze into a four top. Our server was very attentive and removed empty dishes right away which was great because we had no extra space. We had excellent service throughout lunch, and the food arrived very quickly. We ordered: * Gyoza * Shumai * Pork Belly Rice * Chardonnay The gyoza was nicely executed with a very tasty sauce, the best dish by far. The shumai was standard fare (check out Koi in Westerly, RI which has awesome shumai). The rice was tasty, but came with an egg that was undercooked, and the pork belly seemed to be overcooked pork to us. So, the rice itself was very good, but the accompaniment fell short. Overall, a pleasant lunch, we'd be happy to return, though would try some new dishes other than the gyoza. Total cost $57 with tip. read more

Very overrated. Had the fish tacos which were clearly pre-fried. The breading was not crispy or even WARM and the fish inside was incredibly dry. The tortilla was similarly over cooked, and dripping with grease. It was a glorified pita bread! Wings were also over fried and did not have a unique flavorful sauce. Instead it was literal pancake syrup with a side of sushi ginger--which itself tasted almost 'bubbly' and spoiled. Overall, horrible experience. TigerFish is one of my favorite spots to go when we are on the island. They have an Asian fusion menu with something for everyone. My personal favorite is the general tso chicken and the crack fries. We have brought group after group here and never have had a bad experience. My most recent visit I had the Vietnamese coffee, and it was delicious. We also had a scorpion bowl because you know, balance. Our server George was funny, friendly, professional and excellent at his job. He was accommodating, quick and pleasant to have as a server. Great dining experience on the patio, the service was fantastic. Started with a Vietnamese iced coffee + a refreshing watermelon drink. Server even brought out some Thai Iced Coffee for a friend who has never tried it before. Ordered the lobster pesto which was served with parsley on top. This dish was OK. Not enough lobster meat and a bit of a weak flavor. I did really enjoy the scallops appetizer with bacon crumbled bits, served in the scallop shell. The only positive aspect of our meal from Tigerfish was the service, which was friendly and fast. We ordered takeout from their website for the ferry ride off the island, and despite ordering and paying on their website, and then receiving an ETA for the order to be ready, the restaurant never received that before we arrived 25 minutes later. We got crab rangoons, lo mein, beef and broccoli, and pineapple fried rice. The crab rangoons were at least purses, but were otherwise grease laden tasteless shapes. All other food was heavily flavored with ginger, and filled with chopped bell peppers, water chestnuts, and pea pods, such that there was very little room left for what you'd actually ordered. On top of that, the prices you pay for the pleasure of mostly filler vegetables is high, understanding this is a tourist area. Even if you're staying on block island for more than a day, I can't recommend this establishment. read more

We tried Tigerfish on a recent trip to BI, For dinner we tried a number of their menu offerings. The crab rangoons were great and are a must! I also enjoyed the General Tso's chicken, which wasn't prepared like i've had at other Chinese restaurants, I could tell it had been lightly deep fried and then covered with the sauce but it was still amazing! The restaurant has a beautiful patio as well as an intimate dining room. Our favorite however was the late night option. We decided to stop by for drinks at around 11 and were surprised to see their late night menu, all items were $10 and came in classic Chinese takeout containers. Our server was friendly, and the option of having pineapple drink in a real pineapple was unique, albeeit pricey for the amount of juice that was served (it was packed to the top with ice). We've been going here since it opened hoping to have the same experience from 6 years ago but I have been disappointed with the preparation of the food. The chef is very heavy handed with the spices and sauces. The tuna burger sounded great with a grilled pineapple slice but with all the garnish I could not taste the tuna. My wife had a duck quesadilla , the seasoning was just too salty and heavy, the naan couldn't be cut into. Crack fries were featured with my tuna, unless you have a sweet tooth don't bother, crack as in sugar and salt may be okay for McDonalds but this was over the top. My wife and I had already eaten at some seafood restaurants and wanted to try something different. Both the interior and exterior of TigerFish felt like a hip Tiki lounge. The walls were covered with Asian-themed movie posters such as "The Karate Kid" and "Big Trouble in Little China". For drinks, we decided to order and share a delicious Scorpion Bowl. When we looked over the food menu, we noticed that it was mainly small plates. We decided to order a bunch and share them. Me and my husband went here on our first trip to block island. Drinks were OK. Food was terrible. We ordered the spicy crunchy tuna, crab Rangoon and hot&sour soup. Rangoons were decent. Spicy crunchy tuna was eh- wasabi aioli was a bit overpowering. Hot & sour soup was terrible, inedible and COLD. General tsos chicken was also cold and tasted like chicken nuggets with ketchup on them. Service was fine but food was eh. We were so happy we chose TigerFish for lunch. We were seating outside as we requested with no wait. The space had a cool, casual, comfortable vibe. The hostess gave us water right away with menus. Our server was pleasant and prompt. We ordered a Poke Bowl which was amazingly fresh! Everything was perfection. We also ordered the beef tacos which were such a delicious flavor of korean beef and kumchi for a bit of spice and a sweet sauce all on a piece of thick nan bread. YUM The shrimp pot stickers were good but not outstanding like the other two. The table next to us had a poo poo platter which looked amazing and not anything like what you get in a Chinese restaurant. For desert we shared the lemon cake. Again, superb.
