We tried Kimberly's tonight since it was one of the only restraints open on Block Island and it was amazing! They started us with their homemade bread and olive oil. The bread was delicious! We had the white fish (cod), blackened swordfish with mango, and the open steak sandwich. The white fish dish had a flavorful breading on top of rice with mixed vegetables. The blackened swordfish was fresh and had a lovely salsa on top. The open steak sandwich with chimichurri sauce was a little chewy on the ends, but was cooked perfectly. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our dinners and would come back if we are on the island again. read more

From the gourmet food to our outstanding server Greta to the outdoor seating, everything was simply wonderful! My husband especially appreciated the gluten free options. My wife and I had dinner at Kimberly's she had the sea scallops which were delicious and well worth the money and I had peppercorn and crusted New York sirloin, which was delicious very healthy portions. The food was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was fantastic. We had a reservations for inside seating because we weren't sure about how the weather would be with the hurricane closing in. it was a beautiful night and they had no problem. We came for food at Kimberly's on Monday night as they close on Tuesday. OpenTable reservation required. I had coconut crab bisque and chicken Marsala with linguine. The bisque was delish. However, a chicken breast was grilled on top of the pasta coated with Marsala sauce and a few strands of pea sprouts. For the price of $38 of this dish, I was disappointed with what was presented. My spouse had steak. Our friends had salmon and the plain white fish. I'm sorry we missed Kimberly on Monday night. We would have told her our opinion. What an amazing time we had at Kimberly's. My husband and I were on the island for a quick getaway and chose Kimberly's on a friend's recommendation. We started with the mussels in a curry broth--delicious. And an extra basket of fresh bread was provided for us to sop up the sauce. I went with the blackened swordfish special. This was absolutely the freshest most succulent swordfish I've ever had. My husband chose the bouillabaisse, which was just as amazing. Really tender baby clams and mussels in another broth that had so many levels of flavor. Again--fantastic. What also impressed us was the lovely waitstaff who were so pleasant and engaging. I ordered a beet and goat cheese salad - I enjoyed this and felt that the cheese was very fresh. My panko fish meal was also very good - mashed potatoes as well. We followed the reviews and made a dinner reservation at Kimberly's. It was a great choice! The hostess was Kimberly herself (we presume), and our server, Charlotte, was pleasant and attentive. She humored our request to order multiple appetizers and an entree to split, which turned out to be a great way to sample the excellent red curry Block Island mussels, well-cooked asparagus, and crispy and flavorful local calamari. The miso glazed cod entree was easily the best fish we've had in a long time. The place has a comfortable local vibe, with the repeat patrons recognizing familiar servers. Quaint casual place, Kimberly was there to great us when we arrived and seated us. The steamed missells were excellent and so was the bread and garlic olive oil. My wife got the Chicken Parm and we were told it was the best on the island. It was good and a healthy sized portion. I'm got the seafood stuffed half lobster, which was good, but not what I was expecting with the reviews this place got. Kimberly's is one of the be restaurants we've been to. Not only on Block, but in general. It's consistently great! We waited about 10 minutes for a table in a Saturday night. (Not bad). Waitstaff & Kimberly are very attentive & offer great service. We had the Seafood Trio appetizer. (Two shrimp, two scallops & 2 Tuna. The sauce on this appetizer was delicious! The seafood was cooked perfectly. We also had the Thai curry Lobster bisque. Wow! The best Lobster bisque we've had. We arrived for our 7:30 pm dinner reservation on time. We were seated after a minute or so and order a cocktail. We received our drinks and then placed our order. At exactly 7:43 pm, our entrees were delivered to us. We thought it was a mistake as my husband did not receive his appetizer soup yet. We were out of there in 20 minutes. They definitely prepare the food in advance - it was obvious to us. I has ordered chicken marsala (was grilled???) and requested to have it over linguine. We were told it takes too much time to do that. By the way, their chicken parm came over linguine. There are many other places to go on Block Island. We had a great experience dining here over the weekend during the Island's Pride festival. Nothing beats sitting outside on a perfect evening with a cool breeze, the sun setting, while listening to a great acoustic guitar singer playing our favorite tunes across the street. Oh, and the food (and drink!) was out of this world delicious! Everything on the menu sounded amazing and we struggled to choose just a handful of dishes. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for, as was the clams in a special broth with fresh sweet corn! Almost floated down the street from all the white sangria we drank - yummy! Ordered an appetizer. Lobster Rangoon ate 1 and left the rest. The waitress inquired as to why the dish was being neglected. I stated it was not to my liking. She stated she would take it of the bill. I stated that it was not necessary. The owner came over and forcefully and confrontationaly demanded to know" what's wrong"? I said they are over fried and the filling is tasteless. I have had Rangoon elsewhere and these are inferior. Her response was " people like them." The food at Kimberly's is some of the best on the island. I had the steak special and it was delicious. Perfectly prepare medium. The vegetables/ sides were great! My only recommendation would be to sit inside. Outside is beautiful, the trees provide nice shade but also result in stuff dropping out of the trees. I highly recommend this place for the food. This is probably one of the better restaurants on Block Island. They're open for only dinner, opening around 5:00 PM. The inside has table seating and a decent sized bar. Its atmosphere is nice and airy. The outside has table seating on the front lawn and is good for people watching because it's located close to the road. All my food was wonderful. Service was prompt and served with a smile. Their menu is a little bit more creative than other restaurants on the island. Prices are somewhat reasonable too. read more

Okay let me just start by saying the food here is amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious. Honestly, this might have been the best food we ate on our weekend trip and we did not have a bad meal anywhere we went. For apps we got that Thai mussels and calamari. For meals we got the grilled swordfish, lobster Mac and cheese, salmon, and shrimp and pea primavera. *Chefs kiss* All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. We went on Friday night during a freak rain storm and they promptly moved us from outside where we were sitting to a table inside. The evening of August 3rd, 2019. First time on Block Island, and wasn't sure of the hot spots to eat. After doing a little online digging I came across Kimberly's, and I'm so glad I did. Both my father and I walked in, and the ambiance of the setting was very cozy, the wait staff was assertive and we were sure this place would be great! We both shared the calamari w/ white sauce, which was different in terms of not your typical marinara sauce etc. Definitely give it a try. Then I ordered something i usually don't get only because no one ever seems to make it right; the "Seafood Fra Diavolo". The picture speaks for itself in terms of presentation, and myself being a chef I was all but satisfied with the al dente pasta, homemade spicy Marinara sauce and the abundance of seafood which wasn't over-cooked. For someone who's eaten at a lot of places I rarely give 5 stars because something always goes wrong; people looking for a good spot when they come to the island definitely need to give this place a try. read more

We had an issue with one of our dishes- and the manager came over to apologize. They also comped that dish, and brought free desserts to the table. I would give more stars if I could! One of the best meals we have had in Block Island. We started off with their fresh sliced bread and then ordered the Portuguese Littlenecks and a fried oyster special appetizers and both were amazing. For entrees we had the Chicken Marsala, Open Faced Steak Sandwich, Seafood Fra Diavolo and Thai Coconut Curry Shrimp. Seafood Fra Diavolo is one of my favorite dishes and Kimberly's did not disappoint. The sauce had the perfect amount of spice and the addition of the julienne vegetables was a welcome surprise! Came for dinner at Kimberly's (right next to the grocery store and bagel shop). It's relatively new so we had never tried it before. They had a good wine and beer menu at very reasonable prices and our waiter was nice and very eager to please. The food, however, was very mixed. The cornbread served at the beginning was completely dried out. I tried the shrimp bisque (a pure cup of sweet cream - nothing else, not a single piece of shrimp!!!) and the spicy ginger littlenecks (the sauce just did not work - lemongrass, tomatoes and ginger - I thought it had sounded good but it was just off). The duck entree was fine but was served on plain white rice with no sauce. Two friends got the salads however and both the arugula/corn and the feta/watermelon were large and very tasty. The mussels in curry sauce were also good. I think I just ordered completely wrong - the menu is massive so this unfortunately is probably going to happen often where some dishes are great and others really miss the mark. read more

Tonight we headed to your establishment at opening time. We didn't have a reservation as we were four. We were seated promptly inside as it was a very humid and windy day at BI. Our server was Caitlyn and she was eager to serve us. She took our drinks and appetizer orders. Our friend didn't like her special strawberry iced tea and changed to a glass of wine. I had BI Bomba drink. Our spouses had a beer and a Ginger Cosmo. We love the fried calamari appetizer. Our entrees were grilled vegetable platter, coconut curry lobster, simpler white fish and ribeye steak. I was the last person to finish the lobster dish. I had to ask for wet naps to clean my fingers. Anytime a shellfish dish is served, wet naps and a bib should be given to the consumer without asking. Thank you for not having loud music. Best food we had on the island!!!! Service was impeccable! Cocktails were delicious! I was on Block Island for a Bachelorette Party Weekend for my older sister. After vacationing here many times since I was a child, I knew that most restaurants on the island tend to serve simple, fresh food that appeals to a large audience - usually it is nothing terribly special, but we weren't there for a culinary experience. We were having a low key weekend of relaxing on the beach and eating good food, but Kimberly's blew us out of the water. We had walked over to Poor People's Pub (since it is highly rated for some reason) from the Spring House, but we weren't impressed with the simple, pub food menu, so we walked across the street to Kimberly's. The large outdoor picnic tables, the little twinkle lights in the trees, and even the little pot of rosemary (rather than flowers) decorating the table completely charmed us. It was a warm and inviting atmosphere. When we saw the watermelon salad on their specials list, we immediately sat down. It turns out they were out of that salad, but the beet salad we ordered in its place was spectacular! We got the special cocktail which was a blueberry lemonade with vodka, lemonade, and muddled blueberries or the white sangria. My sister and I strongly prefer red and don't usually drink white sangria or wine, but it was very good and was not made to order, but let to soak for a bit in the fruit as its suppose to! Besides the beet salad, we also got the Calamari, seafood trio, side of asparagus, and the shrimp tacos. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and presented complete, complex flavor profiles - basically everything was just plain incredible. The Shrimp Tacos (which I never would have ordered if someone else hadn't suggested it) were delicious, and honestly, the best shrimp I have ever had in my life. The taco was stuffed with shrimp, and the other veggies and sauce in the taco complimented the shrimp without taking away from it. Overall, it was easily the best meal we had on the island! Disappointing. I made a reservation but was told when we arrived that we could not be seated outside. the hostess reprimanded me for not specifying outdoor seating. My response that outdoor seating hadn't been offered when I made the reservation didn't seem to matter to her. She was quite nasty. We went in only because most other places on the Island were likely to be full. The food was overpriced and blah. My small shrimps were overwhelmed but the stodgy rice. I don't recommend this place. There are several better places to eat on BI. read more
