This place has awesome food and service. Definitely my favorite restaurant on BI. They take reservations and have indoor and outdoor seating. Follow them on IG and they post their special events and updates on what is going on. Inside can be a bit on the loud side. Drinks: are fantastic tiki cocktails loaded with booze. I got the Rosé sangria and it was sweet but delicious. My fiancé got the unfiltered sake and the Mai Tai which he loved as well. Appetizers: 10/10 on everything we had. The scallops and bacon were huge (only 2 scallops, just a heads up if you are sharing with a group). Chicken and waffles were so yummy and a guilty pleasure. Duck dumplings were really good and easy to share with the table. The tuna tateki had great flavor and prepared to perfection, the jalapeños were a nice touch. Dinner: WARNING, portions are huge and you can easily split dishes between two people no problem. The pork fried rice was okay, but my fiancé loved it. The spicy fish soup was probably one of the greatest dishes ever as the flavor was incredible, spicy, and the fish was fresh and flavorful, not to mention the abundance of fish in this dish was insane. The beef tacos were out of this world, you could probably get this to split as an appetizer too, they come with 3. This review is primarily geared towards the wait staff. We went the other night and we made our waiter aware of a fish and shellfish allergy. When the food came out they said it was prepared only for a shellfish allergy. We had to get extra clarification that the food was properly prepared as the waiter failed to communicate with the kitchen that the food was for both. This caused unnecessary panic. We when to tiger fish specifically to get pictures with the koi fish cup and they told us they ran out of the booze that went in it. When asked if we could replace it with water or soda they said no it had to be booze and it would cost the same amount 26 dollars. Just fill the cup up with water. And to make it worse they were so upset with the tip amount that we left them after their poor service that they decided to gossip about it to a bunch of people on the island. We will never be coming back here again considering that they don't take allergies seriously and that tip amounts are something to gossip about after such a horrible service. The couches out back haven't been cleaned or dusted in ages. The food was good but overpriced. read more

Exceeded expectations. My wife and I rolled in on a rainy Thursday evening and were promptly seated. Started off with a warm greeting from Sarah (who provided efficient and exceptional service tonight) and we went right for the dumpling of the day as an appetizer - steamed pork and kimchee dumplings. Although they were served lukewarm, the homemade quality of the ingredients was very apparent and very good, complimented perfectly by a great dipping sauce. Perfectly thin wrapper with a great ratio of filling. Main course selections were the steamed snapper in banana leaf and I opted for the Korean Beef Bulgogi. Both entrees were served piping hot and with ample portions. The bulgogi was described as a 'bowl of happiness' and that is a perfect description. Think tender pot roast with salty kimchee over jasmine rice and a terrifically complex broth. The snapper was simply prepared with very fresh fish and a dejection of plated sauces that were very good. Total tab was $79 with tip which we consider reasonable for the caliber of the cuisine and service. A terrific experience and I definitely hope to be fortunate enough to dine at Tigerfish again during our vacation on BIRI. Highly recommended! read more

The food was so disgusting. The service was awful! We waited for 20 minutes for a drink and it wasn't even busy! NO ONE WAS THERE! We ordered the lobster sliders, don't get them! Not fresh... tastes like they marinated them in salt! Just not a great place at all' there are so many other places on the island that 10 times better. We gave this one and try and we will not be back! They asked how our service was, we told them and they said there are new people in the kitchen... and that our feed back was helpful. Last night my husband and I wandered into TigerFish for a drink. The atmosphere was very cozy and the food was amazing. We had the potstickers and a shrimp dish. Both were great. Stay away from this place. They have no idea how to cook. They advertise as Asian and there isn't a thing Asian about the place except some horrible Bruce lee posters. Food is way over priced and they have no idea what the name of the food really means. It said jasmine rice, I've been a cook for many years and I can say without a doubt they have no idea what jasmine rice is. And grilled salmon came burnt and dried out. And there asking $32 for this. It's a dive with terrible food. Save your money and there is an Irish place next door that actually knows what the culture is, unlike the fake Asian place that doesn't even have one Asian person there. the only 'asian' place on the island. it's a menu of confused food items who are unsure if they are asian fusion or not. they are combinations of asian cuisines and other cuisines, done haphazardly. for those who have never had asian cuisine, it is quite an adventure.. but, if you're expecting asian, you will be utterly disappointed. we had some appetizers instead of meals. - the teriyaki chicken nachos was HUGE.. but not very good and very confusing. as another reviewer said, the chicken is not teriyaki at all and grey. the pineapples and peppers on their own were fine, but did not fit the nachos at all! there was a lot of cojito cheese and it made it very salty, but not really meshing in the nachos. then, there was a huge mound of guacamole on the side that was very brown when it arrived on our table and a little bitter. it was such a disappointment and i usually love any nachos. - the tiger tots were better than the nachos. still, also a very confused dish. mostly sweet from the roast pork sauce (fuchsia pink) and some pieces of very grilled/burnt piece of pork. but, tots are always good. - the bulgolgi beef tacos looked better than they taste. the confusion between being on a (garlic) naan and bulgolgi beef should have been a clue. the naan was NOT garlic and more like just circular flat bread. the beef was rather tasteless and a very small amount of kimchi on top. it has so much potential!.. but not quite there. perhaps we came with too many expectations. there is a lot of potential here, but just not there. perhaps the entrees are actually good.. they look decent from other visitors' tables. read more

There are many places on Block Island that serve the standard fare. Tigerfish isn't one of them!!! My g/f and i stopped in during the windy Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We ordered Tigers Coconut Soup, Peel & Eat Prawns, and a Phad Thai that contained sesame seeds, water chestnuts, shrimp, etc. Our beverage was a shared Scorpion Bowl. Everything was delicious. My boyfriend and I had a perfect lunch here on a day trip to Block Island a couple weeks ago. We had the watermelon gin drink (delicious with fresh watermelon juice), the tuna tartar app, shrimp tacos (a special) and a lobster roll. Everything was AMAZING! The fries are to die for. Summer 2020 TigerFish is heavily using their outdoor yard, porch and side patio, the tables are all comfortably separated and the wait staff is masked. They offered indoor too but most folks choose outside. Ambiance is happy and comfortable. Drinks heavy. The menu this summer has many small dishes to share - we took Bulgogi Beef on Nan and a spicy Fish Tacos on a light crunchy thing. Both delicious. I'm so thrilled this place opened up. It's inventive and delicious! They have a lovely patio, a well-decorated dining room (loved the Kung Fu movies on the TV!) with an adjacent bar, and a private dining room for larger parties. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and checked up on just the right amount. Check out their Instagram for photos of their mocktails. It made me wish we'd brought booze instead of beer/wine (right now they're BYOB). The green curry chicken wings were A+, as was the lobster papaya salad (but warning: it's spicy!) The ramen and pho were also very good, but a bit heavy considering we'd loaded up on appetizers. On cool nights, this would be a stellar treat to yourself. An easy 5 star experience. Enough to bring me out of yelp review hibernation. I ordered the phenomenal Banana Leaf Red Snapper--cooked in a massaman curry sauce that was much lighter than a massaman curry dish you'd get at a typical Thai restaurant. My husband ordered the Korean Bulgogi which was out of this world. Basically the Korean version of pot roast, but I can honestly say I've never had meat that flavorful and mouthwatering. Don't forgot a small plate. We tried the dumpling of the day, pork and kimchee, another crowd pleaser. I obviously drenched mine in ponzu sauce which added a perfect sweet flavor to the kick from the kimchee. Sarah, our waitress, rounded out the night with excellent, attentive service. The ONLY downside which can easily be overlooked is Tigerfish is BYOB. Oh and don't let the prices deter you, the food is absolutely worth it!! read more
