Sat at the bar on a Friday night. Food was delicious. Got the sesame orange chicken, crab rangoons and the mei goreng noodles. Huge portions and was able to take leftovers home. However, the service did not seem happy to be there and didn't have any interest in serving their customers. We also were getting dripped on by water from a vent above us. This was extremely annoying and had to maneuver our food plates so that dirty water wasn't getting in it. Would return again for the food but wouldn't choose to sit at the bar. read more

Wish we could have them shipped to Maine. The lemongrass flavor was unique and interesting, and they were cooked perfectly. Entrees: snapper was cooked perfectly- light and flakey, spices were spot on, good portion. Pad Thai: my husband really liked it- different than more traditional pad thais but our fabulous server made sure we knew that when we ordered. The sauce is thick and nutty vs the more traditional sauce you might think of. The taste was quite nice, and a very generous portion. Would have liked more "crunch" and "green": scallions, bean sprouts, matchstick carrots, whatever, was mostly noodles and tofu. Service: excellent. When I first walked in, it looked much different than most restaurants on Block Island, but decided to give it a try. The menu looked good so we went in. Our waitress was very friendly and got us everything we needed. We started off with the daily dumpling which was very tasty! Could've had another order! Then as my main dish I got the Ramen soup. It had interesting ingredients, but was overly salty. Also, it was very hard to break up the pork. Would've been better with much less salt. Overall, had a good experience, but next time I would order something different. read more

I am giving an extra star for the attempt at Asian cuisine (I think the only on BI) and a nice enthusiastic wait staff. The food was one star - greasy and lazy. We had a red curry dish where the chunks of meat were oversized, barely a vegetable in sight and in a bowl of mostly sauce. Spring rolls were doughy oil bombs. And the udon noodles were pasty. I read the reviews and thought, "sounds amazing!" Well it was anything but. I consider myself a pretty open minded foodie. The menu is exciting but completely fails to deliver. I was in a party of 4. We wanted to try different things so we ordered share plates, a few noodle dishes and some fried rices. The steamed buns were good, the chicken and waffles I'd order again, but everything else.... lackluster at best. The fried rice had zero flavor and the add on duck and chicken were thrown on the side and tasted boiled. The noodles were terrible. I had high hopes but TigerFish fell very short. No one in my party enjoyed their food. With all the great choices on Block I'd stay away from this one! read more

This is the best restaurant on Block Island. By far. Over the years we have been mostly disappointed with the local fare, particularly the seafood. It just doesn't seem like there's any real pride by any of the restaurants in providing good food or local fish around here. After two well known restaurants rejected our large takeout orders (ordering for 6 people) on Saturday night 8/25/18, we decided to give TigerFish a try. They prepared the food quickly which was great but every single dish we ordered was just fantastic. Ribs, chicken wings, salads, orange sesame chicken. The pork ribs were my favorite but honestly all of it was delicious. I wrote this review because I think most folks, including myself, don't think to order Asian fusion in a place like Block Island. In hindsight that's a shame. I've eaten just about everywhere on the island and I think TigerFish makes the best food period. Not just hit the spot and fed everyone. We were the only people eating inside and the service was really poor. I had to wave them down Repeatedly. The miso soup was fantastic. The tuna tartare was less than expected. It looked like it was made five hours ago. Gray and very non-appetizing. The drinks were pretty good when they actually came to take your order. I would not recommend going here to anyone I will never go here ever again. I would say that if the service was decent then I might think about going here again but I would not get the tuna that's for sure!!! Also I had chicken wings and nobody brought me any extra napkins so my fingers were consistently disgusting and it was really uncomfortable. read more

Exceptional food and drinks. We have gone twice in a week and are planning a third trip. Tigerfish has a wide variety of appetizers, small plates, entrees and desserts. We shared many dishes and each one was highly praised by all. Some favorites included the snapper, red curry, pad thai, and dumplimgs. Our stomachs left the restaurant full and happy. Last week we had a lovely meal here at the beginning of our trip. Food, drinks, and service were all really great! Our waitress was lovely, sweet and helpful. However, tonight, a group of friends and I came back to get drinks and appetizers and were harassed at the door. We were a group of four 21 year olds and were joined by two of our 50+ year old mothers with ID's from out of state, the security man bent all of our real ID's backwards and forwards, and held on to one of them. I asked him to call the police to scan and verify the ID, with no response of communication. My person California drivers license now has a bent in it and I am offended by the lack of respect of property. If you are carding at the door please make sure to hire professionals who can verify what REAL drivers licenses look like. read more

While making a reservation at another establishment, we were asked,by a Dennis if we wanted to attend their Pig Roast. We already had plans for dinner but thought we'd check it out, everything looked so fresh and good, we changed our plans. The Pig Roast was amazing! Everything was very tasty. The food was excellent and my husband and I were both VERY impressed with the staff! Meghan, our waitress, was very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Me and my bf showed up a little before they opened (3:56 pm to be exact). We thought maybe the doors would be open since we just saw people outside but when we walked up they were still locked. No problem for us and we just decided to wait the 4 mins. It became 4:05 and no one came to unlock the door or anything. So rude! You clearly saw us out there and for us being tourists you're rudeness and unwelcoming vibe which is clearly what you wanted to give off is not okay. After reading the other reviews I'm glad you didn't open the door! Saved my tastebuds a disgusting trip down white people trying to do Asian cuisine! Don't go here! The General Tso's Chicken was is the best I've ever had. The chicken was succulent, the coating crisp and the flavor rich. We also had the Pad Thai, Lobster Fried Rice and Vietnamese Spicy Fish Stew. After a cold rainy "Purple Flag" day, in late September, we headed to one of the few restaurants open on a Tuesday night. What a SURPRISE! What a TREAT! What a Treasure TigerFish is! I had the Special Grilled Lobster, a favorite, & a great change after so many boiled Lobster dinners. Grilling intensifies any meat's flavors. The Jasmine Rice with the Sesame/soy/plum sauce & Kimchee was a great accompaniment. I actually asked for extra sauce! My DH had the Hot & Spicy Scallop & Shrimp Soup. It was also a Special. It was a large soup bowl. He was in heaven. It was packed with Scallops, Shrimp, noodles & vegetables. It was hot & spicy as stated, which he loves, BUT Spiciness can be moderated to your own personal taste. I finished this satisfying meal with their Chocolate Lava Cake with Coconut Ice Cream & Carmel Rum sauce. DH is not a fan of any of that...but after a first taste it was a "fight" to the finish. We had a large group, and I may be assuming here but it felt like because we had a mandatory 20% tip, the server did not care to engage with us. If you're going to get anything here, half of the "small plate" options are your best bet. The general tso chicken was good. The striped bass special was on a bed of coconut rice that tasted somewhat stinky. I don't know if it was made with expired ingredients, but i could not eat it. One member of our party did not like his street noodles at all, but they were still added to our bill. No questions asked on what happened with them. It was literally a whole plate full. I have been visiting Block Island (B.I.) for a number of years now. A lover of fresh seafood, I have dined at most of the restaurants on B.I. that profess to specialize in fresh seafood. Without naming the restaurants, I have been disappointed on every occasion until July 23, 2020, when I decided (with hesitancy and reservation) to give Tigerfish a try. I gravitate to the more understated, straight seafood-billed establishments, measuring every experience against the seafood in Cape Cod, which I find superior. To bring this review to a close. I ordered Tuna Takani appetizer and freshly caught whole black sea bass as my entree (hopefully I have success in attaching the pictures, although they won't do justice to the flavor). In short this was the best meal I have ever had on B.I. The fish was fresh and prepared to perfection! Read between the lines: I have been to most every seafood-based restaurant on B.I. and not one comes close to the Tigerfish. It will be my restaurant of choice every return visit to B.I. read more

This is new on BI. We read good and bad reviews. Being Asian, I liked the special they offered. I had the udon with fried mackerel. It was a little steep in price but it's been a while I had whole fish with head and tail. However, my spouse and friend didn't care for the pad Thai with chicken. One found it a little spicy while my husband had many pad Thai many times and the noodle was not what they expect and taste was not consistent. Our fourth guest had ramen noodles which was a hit for him. Our waitstaff was nervous when my husband expressed his disappointment in his pad Thai. Erin offered us watermelon juice. We didn't order dessert. The appetizer was good. Erin recommended teriyaki chicken potstickers. A little pricey for 7 potstickers for $12. read more

I'm a big fan of asian cuisine having lived in such places as Japan, Singapore, Thailand and good ole Hawaii. I'm a huge lover of General Taos chicken having had it many ways, but I'll get back to that later. Our waitress was lovely, accommodating and patient. First drinks. They just started using their state liquor licence a week before we got there. No scotch. Mom was dying for a Dewers and soda water. The only whisky they had was single malt Japanese whisky at $16.00. No Bud Lite, only Miller high life. Very limited selection. Perhaps it will get better. Appetizers. Crab Rangoon was the best I ever had, perhaps a bit pricy compared to most Chinese places but we had 2 servings of them. The dumplings were excellent too as was a salad we had with shrimp (not sure what is was called). Entree. Three orders of General Tao's chicken and some kind of raman meatless soup. The GT's portion could feed an army it was ample and we brought the leftovers home. I thought the GT's chicken sauce was a bit overwhelming and way too sweet. There seemed to be no chili spice to it or the sweetness over took that flavor. The chicken and the broccoli were drenched in the sauce making the broccoli very mushy. I like a crispy broccoli in this recipe. But what really killed it for me only because its my odd liking to General Tao's chicken was that there was no Chinese hot mustard!! I tried Wasabi as a substitute but it just didn't cut it. I love dipping my chicken in the mustard. The raman soup. All I can say is my wife didn't like it and she's asian. As I said the waitstaff was excellent but the food was so so. Portions were incredible but alcohol selection was very limited. I didn't pay for the meal as I was treated by a friend so I have no idea on the prices. I would not discourage anyone from going, I think you'll find it interesting with its decor, and as I only had one meal there it may not be indicative of the rest of the menu. Thanks. read more

A great change from typical tastes! We ate outside. Had the house salad - a lively mix of crisp fresh greens, flavorful herbs and fresh toppings like rosy radish, crisp bean spouts and grape tomatoes. I ordered it with the coriander grilled tofu (of which I'd eat a whole plate full!). Judging from the ooos and ahhhs from my sister's side of the table, the General Tso's chicken and waffle was equally delicious. The service was super congenial and knowledgeable! What a cool place! I'm almost positive it's the only place serving Asian cuisine on the island. Very eclectic atmosphere with not only a deck to eat on but a cool bar area that leads into an enjoyable sitting room area to chill out with some drinks. We ordered crab Rangoon (delicious), crack fries (honestly already craving them again), general tso's chicken and waffles (which was smaller than expected BUT very delicious. We also got orange chicken and broccoli and general tso's chicken and broccoli. Those portions were huge very much family style so I'd say spilt the plate and grab some apps. Service was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu too! Definitely a hidden gem on the island! read more
