AC temp

Extremely hot inside -- management said nothing could be done I'm very disappointed with my experience at Kids Empire in Escondido at North County Mall. The facility was extremely hot inside, making it uncomfortable to stay while the children played. I brought this concern to the attention of management, but I was told that they couldn't do anything about the temperature. That response was frustrating because this is an indoor playground where children are actively running, climbing, and playing, which can make them even more susceptible to overheating. I understand that temperature control may not always be simple, but I would expect management to take a concern like this seriously and explain what steps are being taken to address it. I have contacted Kids Empire corporate to report the issue and request that it be escalated to someone who can actually address the problem. I hope management takes this seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Parents should be able to bring their children to an indoor play facility without having to worry about excessive heat or feeling that their concerns are being dismissed.

Fresh carpet, paint and play areas. Plenty of space for kids to run around and get all their energy out. There's tables and chairs which is great for parties and for parents a to wait for their kids to get tired. Snacks are available too. Very safe, secure and reasonably priced. Give them a try and thank me later.

Really well thought out layout. I like the tables in the center, but I do think there's a little too many tables. I wish it was slightly less crowded with furniture. The sledge run is so smart. The bikes on the wooden area is also great. They have a little race track in the center where you can pay to drive little motorized cars. The larger structure is deceptively larger than it appears since it's much deeper. It's easy to get lost in there but the front gates are locked so your kids can't get out. One thing I hope they fix is that it's too hot! It's about 78-80 degrees. I still got the summer pass for $70 for 60 days!

Here's a polished version of your review: What an amazing place! The kids have so much to do here. The first time I brought my grandson, he played nonstop for eight hours! We only left briefly to grab lunch and then came right back. You can easily make this an all-day adventure, and it's incredibly affordable. It's one of the best places to take your children to have fun, burn off energy, and stay entertained for hours. Another great feature is that there are tables throughout the facility where parents can sit, relax, or even get some work done while the kids play. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, budget-friendly day out! Oh yeah, my grandson is four years old, but they also have a little kitty area. That is absolutely adorable. They also do birthday parties and it's in a great location.

Poorly air- conditioned- very hot , but way worse that that the slides are way too slick . Our 3 1/2 slammed her head. The staff tried to explain that maybe they overly " pledged " the slides night before. We go to these types of parks frequently and have never had such an experience. Do not take younger kids here- Funbelievable and Candee Land way safer . On positive note, staff reacted quickly and professionally. They quickly brought out an ice pack and responded to the incident appropriately.

The play area itself is great--there's plenty for kids to do, and my girls were entertained. Unfortunately, the food policy really soured the experience. They have a huge number of tables for families to sit and eat, but you can only use them if you purchase their food. Outside snacks aren't allowed, even for children, yet the options they sell are mostly chips and processed junk food. I could understand the policy more if they offered healthier alternatives. What makes even less sense is that eating is allowed--you just can't eat your own food. Instead of sitting at one of the many empty tables only about 10 feet away, my girls had to sit on the floor in the entry area to eat their snacks. It felt unnecessary, inconvenient, and not very family-friendly. The play area deserves more stars, but the food policy and how it was handled brought the overall experience down to two. For reference here's some pictures of the food they offer.

It's like if someone crossed a SkyZone Trampoline Park with a McDonald's Playpen and slapped it with a coat of pastel paint and candy stickers. Sorry, CANDEE stickers. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. Did I like Candeeland? M'eh, not particularly. Still, I'm sure I'll be back eventually...

Instead of explaining the process, she repeatedly asked me to have my sister-in-law confirm that I was with them before allowing me through the front gate. My sister-in-law was already inside caring for her 5-month-old and 3-year-old, yet she was asked to come to the front gate twice to confirm that I was with them. The facility itself is very nice, clean, and welcoming, and the baristas were incredibly sweet. My only concern was the front desk communication. I think the front desk staff should explain the process and policies clearly, especially to first-time visitors such as aunts, uncles, or grandparents who are there with family. A little more patience and professionalism would have made the experience much better. I'm giving 3 stars mainly because the baristas were so kind and welcoming. Otherwise, based on my experience at the front desk, I would have given 1 star.

Surprised to see that the Vista location didn't have a Yelp page set up yet…read more I came across Play City a few months ago and loved how open it was. I decided that if the price worked for us, we would go here for my son's birthday party - which we did! Package deal is $149 for 5 kiddos for 2 hours. Any additional kid would be +$25. They recommended we go with the 5, and the day of, pay the remaining balance 15 minutes before the party ends - outside food allowed, no additional cost - they provide you a rolling cart to transfer your items - no burners except a flame to light the candle - you bring your own cooler(s), only frozen icepacks allowed, no loose ice - adults were no cost - waivers needed to be signed for all. Sometimes the playcity site if it doesn't specify location, you would end up signing the Chula Vista location's. And then you would be asked to sign it again as they look you up by number. - everyone needs grip socks, also available for purchase - $10 per kid after party is done if guests wanted to stay longer Our son loved the bouncy areas, ball pit, and colorful slides. Area was very big, clean, and well ventilated. I liked how they had a toddler area (under 4 I believe) and an infant area. If over 4, older kids can supervise but can't go down the slide on their own as it's meant for the younger kids. Two bathrooms were available. 2 Small-Medium size party sitting area and 1 giant area. Facility was more designed for kiddos under 13. If you have older kids, the ninja factory next door would likely be more of their interest! Cost wise, Play City Vista fit our budget in comparison to others like Kids Empire, Funbox, and Airtrack : we had 21 kids and around 20ish adults. *You would need to remember to bring your snacks, drinks, food, utensils, cutting cake knife, and small flame for lighting the candles. They also do have a snack bar.

Disclaimer, this from a dad who has accepted his fate and now lives on Play Pass economics and…read moredraft beer theology There are eight Chuck E Cheese locations within twenty five minutes of my house. Eight. I live in a suburban Bermuda Triangle where every road leads to a different flavor of parental surrender. And yet... I keep coming back because the Play Pass membership is the closest thing to salvation a modern dad can buy without consulting a Rabbi. Two hundred fifty games a day. Half off food. Half off the trampoline park. And I can use it at any location in the country, each with its own personality. All have salad bars, some are safe to eat at. All offer redemption counters which are low key pawn shops for sugar gremlins. Some keep things clean. Some... El Cajon... do not. But Escondido? Escondido is one of the chosen ones. My kids are locked in on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Escondido has it. National City has it too, but then you have to spend time in National City, and I'm not trying to add side quests to my suffering. The machines here mostly work. The card readers don't gaslight you. The ticket counters don't jam. It's the little things that keep a man going. The Rat Situation..... Once an hour, the music hits. A jaunty little tune that tells most kids it's time to dance with the giant rat mascot. For my youngest, it's the opening note of a horror movie. She hears it and immediately climbs me like a tree. And look, most of the teenagers in the suit are pros. They see the terror. They give us space. They drift away like a respectful wildlife ranger avoiding a startled fawn. But every now and then, fate hands us one of two options: A kid in the suit who cannot read the room Or a kid who absolutely can read the room and chooses violence anyway Those are the moments when the rat stalks my child like a hyena, and I swear, I am not amused. The Beer! Chuck E Cheese serves beer. This is not a luxury. This is a coping mechanism. But the rat only allows one per hour. One. They demand a valid ID every time, even though I look like a man who hasn't slept since the Obama administration. And the system literally locks the tap until the hour resets, no matter how much money I offer the vermin behind the counter. I have never felt more controlled by a rodent in my life. The Salad Bar.... This location keeps the salad bar stocked and clean. Watermelon, honeydew, cucumbers, carrots, oranges. Six fifty with the membership. My kids eat actual produce here. This is a miracle. Other locations... again, El Cajon... treat the salad bar like a corporate mandated example that pizza and cotton candy a food group. Escondido Chuck E Cheese is where I come to trade my sanity for two hours of my kids not fighting. The Play Pass is a lifesaver. The games work. The salad bar is shockingly fresh. The beer flows on a timer set by a tyrant rat overlord. Four stars because my child should not have to fear a mascot like it's a nature documentary. But for a beaten down dad clutching his hourly beer like manna, this place gets the job done.

The biggest downside for me was unfortunately not the place itself, but some of the parenting. A lot of parents seemed to use the time to relax and stay glued to their phones while their kids ran into other children, grabbed toys from them, or just caused chaos without anyone stepping in. I also wasn't impressed with the staff. In my experience, they came across as pretty unfriendly and didn't really interact with the kids at all. For a place centered around children, I expected the staff to be a little more welcoming, engaged, and involved. I like the concept and the play areas, but I found myself having to correct other kids because their parents weren't paying attention. With more attentive parenting and a friendlier, more engaged staff, this could easily be a much better experience.

They had a blast playing games and enjoying some friendly competitions. We picked Birthday Package which included pizza, drinks and dessert. Each game lasts about 18 minutes, providing a nice rhythm for the kids to cycle back to the room for snacks and drinks. However, I do have a few suggestions regarding the birthday experience and food policies. First, we were disappointed to learn we couldn't bring our own cake. My daughter was quite let down, as the provided cupcakes didn't feel quite right for a milestone 10th birthday. We were also informed that if we wanted to bring any extra food or treats, they had to be individually wrapped, which is very limiting. Additionally, our host was not very engaging. They simply explained how the room and games worked, making the experience feel a bit transactional rather than celebratory. Despite these minor issues, it was a great party overall. The kids had a wonderful time, and we will definitely be back to play again.
