I placed a pickup order and, after getting home, realized the store had forgotten one of the items…read moreI paid for. I called expecting a simple refund for the missing item, but instead I was told my only options were to drive back to the store for a refund, have the item replaced, or accept coupons. The missing item was only about $2, so this wasn't about the money. It was about how the situation was handled. The mistake was made by the store, yet the burden was placed on me to spend additional time and gas to fix it. I simply wanted a refund for an item I never received, but I was told they don't process refunds over the phone. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What matters is how a business responds when they make one. Requiring customers to make another trip just to get their money back for an item they never received is not good customer service. I hope the store reconsiders this policy, because it turns what should be a quick and easy resolution into an unnecessary inconvenience.
