That day, we had just left Popeye's after standing in line for 20 minutes without success (just something we were checking out because of a YouTube video we saw :)), so decided to give it a try at Chick-fil-A. The first thing we noticed at the drive through was that there was a nice lady with an iPad there to attend to our order. Since there were three of us, the woman followed us down the drive through lane while each of us decided, I guess sending each item through as we told her, so no hold up at an order window - nice :). At the pickup window, there was a friendly gentleman there who seemed to be the manager, because he was checking with us to see how long the order process took. He chatted with us amiably during the minute it took for us to get our food. We were very happy with the sandwiches (spicy chicken version), but even more impressed and pleased with the speed and quality of the service. It is certainly a place we will more intentionally support!

I was not greeted, so I asked the employee "Hi, how are you?" And he just kind of gazed at me. I like to engage with this type of employee to try and give them an opportunity to pick up on the simple things like greeting a customer. Such a small thing goes a long way in making a visit less awkward and more inviting. My attempt had failed so I began my order. I had to request a different tortilla because the one he tried to give me was ripped right down the middle approximately 2-3 inches. Given that I've not frequented Chipotle, I'm not sure what my options are. So after getting my new tortilla he just kind of waved in the general direction of the beans and rice. "I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the options." I said. To which he replied "Would you like rice and beans?" "Sure" I stated. "What kind?" He responded. You get the point. This was how the rest of the experience went. Even when handed off to the next employee for the lettuce, guacamole etc. Severely undertrained. I understand this is a newer establishment. But, these are elementary basics to customer service. The food was fairly good despite the customer service issues and the establishments was clean.
