Walking in, I got Cookout meets Steak and Shake meets Sonics vibes. We stopped here for a quick bite during a work lunch. The inside seemed very old school but lots of places to sit and eat. Service was fast and friendly The food was pretty good too. A big variety of different foods to choose from. French fries reminded me of the kind you get at a concession stand sports event. Tender, juicy, and well seasoned, this simple burger satisfies our deep, primal urge for a burger that stands on its on without the fluff. The staff members were kind as they delivered this Holy Grail of burgers, and the seating area was clean yet simple, again highlighting that the purpose of a burger restaurant is simply to make a good burger. We got the avocado burger, veggie burger, fries, fried okra, fries and a cup of vanilla/chocolate swirl soft ice cream. Everything was delicious. Honorable mention goes to the veggie burger. My wife loves it. She is a vegetarian but is picky with her veggie burgers. She only likes Impossible Burgers until now. Got to ding them on their use of styrofoam containers. read more

I've been here twice and I really like the food. Their shakes are the best I've had in a while. The curly fries are quite good. Even their regular crinkle-cut fries are served hot and seasoned well. My complaint is that it's a bit expensive for a burger joint. Maybe this should apply to burger joints in general, but there are still a few places where you can feed 3 people for a reasonable price. Great food, drive thru is convenient. We ordered 2 of the avocado burgers. We had to wait a while inline because I think they cook them after you order them. Our two burgers with no mayo were around $20 bucks . They were very good and in my opinion kind of pricey. Probably normal price near the beach. read more

One of the best burger with fresh slices of tomato, lettuce, and red onion I have had in a long time! The chicken cheesesteak had huge portion of chicken and flavorful with toasted bun! The fries and curly fries were hott with right amount of salt and seasoning! Also praise the service! Today I went and they have changed the menu to all combos (used to get a chicken basket for $7.99 now combo is $10.99). That being said my granddaughters wanted a milk shake and not a soda. I walked into California Burger without any presumptions. I was happy to see a new concept in the area but I know how some of these places can be. I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. From the pictures it seemed like they were going for an In-n-Out kinda deal. The burgers seemed fresh and well put together in the pictures and they definitely did not disappoint. Food served as advertised. The fries were crinkle cut which at first glance seem like an after thought but they were crunchy on the outside, meaty in the inside and extremely well seasoned similar to Bojangles fries. It'd be nice if they had some kind of add on bar with pickled peppers and special sauces and so forth but as is they are definitely hitting a home run. Burger a very well earned 8.5 out of 10 and fries 8 out of 10. Service was pleasant and prompt. Easily top 3 best burgers on the beach. Long Live California Burger!!! read more

Really good. We went at 8:30pm and they only had a couple people working but they still were friendly and promptly greeted and food came out pretty quick. Burger was soo good.
