Dan arrived ~ 30 minutes after the ETA. He apologized for the delay and immediately began attempting to pick the lock. The task proved to be tricky, and Dan employed all the tools in his kit. He persisted, though, and picked the lock successfully without causing damage to the door or lock. The effort required about thirty minutes. I am a do it yourselfer and can handle almost anything. Until my wife washed my car key in the laundry and destroyed the immobilizer chip on the FOB and I found out that the ONLY way I was going to start my car again was either by towing it to a dealer or finding a reputable locksmith who could come out and make me a new key fob. I'm pretty patient but sadly this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was inconvenienced 3 different times in 1 week by them. 1. After being on hold for more than 15 minutes, I scheduled a re-key of my new home for later that afternoon (Monday 4-6pm). It was after 6:30pm I received a call saying they couldn't make it and I have to reschedule. I understood but would have preferred an earlier call. Rescheduled for Tuesday morning 9-11am. I had to get off work early and now have to change my work schedule again for the next day. 2. With the re-key I also had a mail box key duplicated for 3 copies. All 3 copies did not work. I called back explaining this and was told I would have to bring the keys to a hardware store to get them corrected myself. I was essentially told I now have to pay more money to correct their mistake. I would prefer the duplicates to just work in the first place. 3. With the duplicate key mistake they offered to refund that portion of the cost. I begrudgingly accepted and the guy said he would need to call me back to get my card information to process the refund. That call never came. I never received a refund. I hope they realize that the amount of money they didn't refund me is a lot less than the amount they will lose from future business. I will never use this service again and I hope you will take you're business elsewhere. Update: after posting this review, the owner contacted me and rectified the situation. He drove out himself, made new duplicates, and provided a full refund. He was sincere with his apology and was professional about the situation. It's all understandable for a small business owner and these are just hiccups you have to go through. read more
