Mark, sold me the system, Brandon was instumental in keeping me satisfied. Once Brandon left, it went downhill.For the past year, My safety has been compromised. I mistakenly tripped my system and no one checked, called or even cared if I was alive. I contacted Secur tek and the Managers explaination was I am on a delayed call? What in God's name is a delayed call? What happened was Secur Tek FORGOT to take my system off of TEST when they changed my smoke detector. Someone dropped the ball and did not want to credit me 6 months of monitoring. I thought I would give them another try, but last evening, I mistakenly tripped the alarm. CRICKETS!!!! No monitoring call, nothing. I contacted the company/left a voice mail, as well as contacted the after hour person. Greg who sounded as if I woke him from his sleep, called me back@ 1150pm. As I explained how no one from monitoring has called,he abruptly told me "When I am okay, call us and we will help you". WOW, and I repeat, WOW! he obviously did not want to be bothered. As of now, I have not heard a word from Secur Tek and the system continues to blink. I am in the process of finding a safe and secur security company for Secur Tek has compromised my safety far too many times. Please take my review as a safety precaution for you and your loved ones. Seek another security company.

Tom was a real pro and it felt so reassuring to be talking with one of the owners. We really felt taken care of and like we weren't going in blind or being misled. The system itself is very sleek, not noticeable and extremely easy to use. Even the app looks great! They have many different options for different needs, but definitely don't hesitate if you're on the fence!! I honestly told my husband I felt safer already just by the initial phone conversation!

Due to several circumstances, I am a crazy person about alarms, security and surveillance. Our overall experience with American Alarms has been very good. They have installed and/or upgraded systems in 4 homes and provide(d) system monitoring as well. Dave B., the owner is next level smart about security. He often has a different perspective that us non-security types would never even consider. He has provided a lot of that next level insight over the years. We've been fortunate to have their technician and installer Josh do most of our work since the beginning. He is knowledgeable, respectful of our home and a good listener. Alarm and security is his craft and he takes it seriously. The office staff at American Alarms is great. Miss Pam and the rest of the group are patient, helpful and cheerful - even when I am not. It's true that American Alarms is big enough to handle anything that might come up, yet small enough to know who you are when you call. But I only gave them 4 stars, right? Right, because I have one issue: We went "all in" on one particular technology that just didn't live up to the hype. It took so long to figure out the issue (which was unique where only a limited number of devices would provide feedback) that the equipment was beyond the warranty or replacement period. These devices work but not to the degree I expected. In closing, without hesitation, I would recommend Dave and his awesome crew at American Alarms for all your security needs.

When the technician arrived, he tried to charge me an additional $20 for a window tag. I was under the impression that a security system should already include securing both doors and windows. I decided to give them another chance and called the same representative to reschedule. We set a new installation date for September 9, 2025. I even took the day off work to be available, but no one ever showed up. I contacted CPI and spoke with a manager, who assured me I'd receive a call back from a supervisor and the sales rep--but that never happened. This experience was extremely frustrating. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine how they treat current ones. I ultimately had to call back just to request a refund for the taxes I had already paid on the equipment. DO NOT go with this company.

Not only are their prices higher and contracts longer than anyone else, there are predatory terms…read moreburied in your contract. Before signing anything, you should understand that you ABSOLUTELY WILL BE CHARGED 100% of the FULL term of the contract -- no matter what. It doesn't matter if you have a valid reason for disconnecting service, such as moving outside their service area (do you realize they only operate in 4 states? They don't mention this when they tell you that your contract is portable). No matter what the circumstance, they will continue to charge you every month PLUS the cost of equipment (this can be several thousand dollars) and there is nothing you can do to stop them because of the terms of the contract. They can change the amount you pay each month, they can pass fees and upcharges to you from third parties, and there's nothing you can do to terminate. It's all buried deep in the contract that nobody reads. These are not industry standard terms, and they are not made clear when you're signing the contract. Basically, unless you are absolutely 100% sure that you will definitely not have any change of circumstances for the next 5 years, go with another company.
