Its unfortunate that I write this review, but Secur Tek leaves me little choice. Ive been a dedicated customer since 2018. Mark, sold me the system, Brandon was instumental in keeping me satisfied. Once Brandon left, it went downhill.For the past year, My safety has been compromised. I mistakenly tripped my system and no one checked, called or even cared if I was alive. I contacted Secur tek and the Managers explaination was I am on a delayed call? What in God's name is a delayed call? What happened was Secur Tek FORGOT to take my system off of TEST when they changed my smoke detector. Someone dropped the ball and did not want to credit me 6 months of monitoring. I thought I would give them another try, but last evening, I mistakenly tripped the alarm. CRICKETS!!!! No monitoring call, nothing. I contacted the company/left a voice mail, as well as contacted the after hour person. Greg who sounded as if I woke him from his sleep, called me back@ 1150pm. As I explained how no one from monitoring has called,he abruptly told me "When I am okay, call us and we will help you". WOW, and I repeat, WOW! he obviously did not want to be bothered. As of now, I have not heard a word from Secur Tek and the system continues to blink. I am in the process of finding a safe and secur security company for Secur Tek has compromised my safety far too many times. Please take my review as a safety precaution for you and your loved ones. What a great experience! I just moved into a new house right before Christmas and needed them to get us set for the holidays asap. I used them to install some new TV's on some walls, along with a surround sound speaker system and programmed my remotes. They also set my house set up for WI FI, X Box, and our security system. Our salesperson Marc was fantastic. I highly recommend him. If you want a job done right call these guys. They have you covered. read more

The service and expertise they provided when setting up our security system were fantastic. Really knew what they were doing, took their time, and had answers to all my questions. Things went a little off the rails (in my opinion) related to the tv installation. The short and sweet of it is they charge by the person AND by the hour for these types of things. So, instead of hiring someone to come out and paying them $100 or so to hang a tv (which is what I'm used to), you get billed $85/person/hour for labor for any special projects - like hanging TVs. On the first attempt to hang the tv, the technician mentioned he "wasn't the normal person who hangs TVs" but was already there to do the security and other wiring needs, and would be doing this as well. He, unfortunately, did not have the normal allotment of screws the "normal guy" would typically have who hang TVs. He got the tv hung temporarily and said they would have to have the other guy come back out to finish. So, I had to wait two weeks for the "normal guy" to come out and he basically said that he would have to reinstall it a different way. Here comes the problem, when you are charging by the hour and not by the job, I'm now paying for time that was wasted on the first trip. To be honest, I truly expected them to not charge me for something (whether it was the time spent of the first attempt or the second), but they chose to charge me for both visits and bill me approximately $250 to hang a tv. I gave them 2 stars because I liked everyone that I met and they seem very good on the technical side. But the decision, by mgmt or whomever, to charge me for 3 hours of labor, over multiple visits that were weeks apart, and $250 to hang a 42-inch television is absurd. I questioned this to them after I received the bill and they chose not to correct the situation. Its a terrible pricing model for this type of service as you can tell using my example above. For me, the larger issue is that I questioned the bill in a very calm way, gave them a perfect opportunity to make it right and "value the customer", and they passed. I would recommend them for your home security needs but highly advise you consider alternatives beyond that given how they charge for their services. read more

Ken at Secur-Tek was incredibly knowledgeable and not pushy at all. He came to the house, explained the system and offered suggestions. No upselling. He is the owner as well. David the installer was incredible. He was professional and extremely thorough. He was able to put a control panel where no one else could. No holes. No messes. Explained how to work the system. Would 100% recommend them. And the times we have accidentally alarmed they sent a text within 2 seconds and called within 10 seconds. Completely happy. read more

If you are tired of paying too much for you monthly security monitoring this is your solution. They fit the budget and do a job just as good if not better than the big companies. My wife and I chose Safe & Sound Moving Company for our move from Chapel Hill, North Carolina to…read moreAtlanta, Georgia. We chose Safe & Sound because of the company's stellar Yelp reviews and its average Yelp rating when compared to other moving companies in the Triangle. Safe & Sound seemed like a safe bet and I'm happy to report that it was. We moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom condo. We added on: (1) a stop to drop off furniture at my parents' house in High Point, North Carolina and (2) haul-away of some items in Atlanta. The total cost for everything was $4,075, broken down as follows: * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (0.5 hour, additional time required) - $77.50 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in High Point (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in Atlanta (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * Deposit for travel and truck - $50 * Haul-away (junk removal) of double mattress, double box spring, bed frame, one standard dining room chair, and torchiere floor lamp - $125 * Remainder of balance for travel - $2,875 * Additional cost/payment - $182.50 * Tip for mover 1 - $150 * Tip for mover 2 - $150 A $485 total deposit was due upfront to secure the reservation. We asked for the movers to show up at a specific date and time. We paid the $485 total deposit 26 days in advance with a credit card. The rest ($3,590) was paid via multiple Zelle transactions after we arrived in Atlanta. In hindsight, I think I may have overpaid $50 because the $50 deposit for the travel and truck was included in our $485 total deposit. I believe that same $50 was included in the remainder of the balance for travel. In other words, I think the $2,875 above should have been $2,825, but I could be wrong. Also, in my stress and exhaustion from the move, I forgot what the additional cost/payment of $182.50 was for. It made sense at the time, when I signed the form ("Uniform Household Goods Bill of Lading - 35 Miles or Less") after the move was complete. I was just happy it was over and that my wife, the movers, and I all made it safely to Atlanta in three separate vehicles on moving day. I do think all of the costs could have been communicated more clearly in writing for our understanding. Money aside, as for the move itself, it generally went well. We scheduled a 9:00-10:00am arrival window for the movers. This was on a Wednesday. We were packed and ready to go at 9am. Unfortunately, the movers were delayed and showed up around 10:45am. They arrived in a 26-foot white Penske truck. It's my understanding they rented it that morning. While it was overkill for the amount of stuff we had, I believe it was the best available truck at the time. It looked new. The movers were Hamza (lead) and Sula. They were great. Very kind and polite. These were young guys in their early 20s. They both wore Safe & Sound T-shirts. They worked hard, quickly and carefully wrapping and protecting our queen mattress and furniture with stretch wrap and blankets, and moving all sorts of heavy boxes and miscellaneous items (e.g., my awkward and heavy standing desk system, computer monitor, office chair mat, torchiere floor lamp, vacuum cleaner) from our third-floor apartment with no elevator on a hot summer day. At the loading site, we treated them to cold Gatorades. It took them about 1.5 hours to do the load in Chapel Hill. We left Chapel Hill around roughly 12:30pm. Hamza ran the show. We made it clear which items were to be dropped off first in High Point and which items were going all the way to Atlanta. No issues there. My parents were very happy with Hamza and Sula's work at the unload in High Point. The two made it to Atlanta around 10:00pm and the unload in Atlanta took less than an hour. Long day. My wife and I made it to Atlanta earlier - around 7:30pm. Unlike Hamza and Sula, we did not stop in High Point. We wanted to get to Atlanta before them so we could get the condo ready for the unload. It worked out. Hamza told me they were going to try and drive back to Raleigh/Cary that night! Only one of our items, a shoe rack, was damaged. All things considered, not a big deal so I didn't bring it up. I can remember three other moves I did with three other moving companies and one item was damaged in each move. It happens. For the haul-away, I only mentioned the mattress and box spring. I added on the other items when I saw them in Atlanta. They didn't charge me extra for that, which I appreciate and must mention here. I sent the tips directly and individually to Hamza and Sula for a job well done. As for scheduling and payment, my wife and I communicated with Jaber (a.k.a. Omar), the owner of Safe & Sound Moving Company. Jaber was on top of everything and quick to respond via Yelp messaging, text messaging, and phone calls. Thank you, Jaber, Hamza, and Sula!

I hired Ambidex electric to add two additional can lights and reroute my island light in my…read morekitchen. This involved rerunning some of the current can lighting to account for removing two previous lights. I had gotten a few quotes from various companies, a few in-person estimates from people who just didn't seem to know what they were talking about as well. However, Dayton, not only was able to quote based on my photos, his in-person quote came in exactly the same and was one of the most reasonable ones we got. He is extremely knowledgeable, was happy to walk me through everything he was doing, made sure to check and double check exactly where I wanted all the new lights, and kept me updated throughout the few hours he was here. After everything was done, the space was clean and all the lights exactly where I wanted them. He went out of his way to deal with funky wiring without missing a beat, and even clearly labeled all the wiring so we were able to install the remainder of the lights in the new holes (we had ceiling work done ater the fact so we waited to install a few ourselves) with NO confusion at all. All in all, i definitely recommend Dayton of Ambidex for your electrical needs. We have a few other projects down the pipeline and some wonky (original builder grade) wiring issues elsewhere, and we'll definitely not hesitate to contact Dayton for all future work!

I have been a loyal customer for…read moreyears, purchased three HVAC units from them within the past five years, and referred neighbors and friends. My current unit is less than five years old and still under warranty, yet the compressor has already failed. I called for service six days ago and have since called three times asking to speak with the Service Manager. The labor estimate to replace the warranty-covered compressor was also extremely high and not consistent with market estimates. Because we urgently need air conditioning and are in a crazy heat way, I felt I had no choice but to approve it. The lack of communication, urgency, and consideration for a long-term customer has been very disappointing. Based on this experience, I do not feel that Maynor values its loyal customers.

Joe came well within the allotted time and was very positive and helpful. He had an idea of what to do, informed me of it so I could give the OK to proceed and then he went about to acquire all that was needed. He had the sink issue fixed in great time and with minimal interruption to my day as well as minimal cleanup afterwards. Parts and labor were within what I expected to pay for such service. Harte Electric was the electrical subcontractor to a home addition to my house. Work area was…read moresloppy and did not clean up behind themselves, fixtures were installed crooked, and left marks on the walls and ceiling. Due to unwritten plan, constant rework was required. Harte is poor at communicating and dismissive when approached to make corrections. The owner was patronizing when asked questions. A very negative experience when working with them. I do not recommend Harte Electric.

They were bought out by NearU in 2022 and are now private equity owned high price poor service…read morecompany. Full review... I would not recommend Ideal, and I will never use them again. Based on my experience, their pricing is excessive, their explanations were not credible, and they did not stand behind their installation. In November 2024, Ideal installed a Trane XR14 for about $5,500. It did not make it through more than one cooling season before developing a significant coil leak requiring replacement a few months out of Ideal's labor warranty. There were red flags early. Within 72 hours, they had to come back multiple times. Ideal tied the new AC coil drain into the existing furnace drain line. After that, the original furnace drain trap connection leaked (photo). I told them I believed the old glued joint was disturbed during install as they moved it to tee in the new line. Since the joint was old, I offered to split the repair cost, even though the problem appeared immediately after their work. Despite photos, Ideal required $150 to send a tech to diagnose and quote repair. They quoted about $750 to replace the drain trap, P-trap, and tee. Their own technician said parts were under $75. I looked up the parts: part 20171701 was about $16.72, and 3/4-inch pipe, P-trap, plus tee is under $20. That quote appeared to be hundreds in labor for a small PVC repair. A licensed plumber fixed it for $100 in under 30 minutes, including a new OEM drain trap. To me, that is not standing behind your work. That is charging a lot for something that appeared to result from the installation. The unit was serviced by Ideal in August 2025 before it went out of warranty and was seemingly fine. On May 3, 2026, when I turned the AC on, it was short cycling. Ideal found a "significant" coil leak. The Trane part was covered under warranty, but Ideal wanted about $3,200 in labor to replace the coil (photo). They claimed it would take two people a full day. For comparison, I received competing quotes for the same work -- drain, swap coil, replace dryer, nitrogen test, vacuum, and recharge -- for $1,200 and $1,500. After I pushed back to service manager Mark, he reduced the quote to about $2,000. Ultimately, another licensed HVAC technician replaced the same warranted Trane coil, IN ADDITION TO my blower motor, for $1,200 total in 3 hours by himself. There are still good companies who charge by the hour vs inflated flat-rate prices. During my call with Ideal, I also discussed my blower motor. Ideal previously said it had shaft play. When I said my regular HVAC technician could replace it for $429 including the part, Mark chuckled and called him a "hack." He said the motor alone was close to $1,000 and suggested I would get a non-OEM cheap Chinese motor with the wrong speed that would not work. That did not hold up. The OEM Goodman motor part number is 0131F00041S. It is nowhere near $1,000. Ferguson HVAC Supply quoted me $88.97 for the OEM Goodman motor. The OEM motor pulled from the unit is made by Zhongshan Broad-Ocean Motor Co, in China. The motor Ideal claimed would be a cheap Chinese knockoff was replaced with a verified OEM Goodman motor, also made in China. When my technician removed the old motor, he found zero shaft play. I still have the motor and a video. Based on all this, Ideal's pricing and recommendations should be questioned carefully. In my opinion, their quotes were inflated compared with actual parts costs and other HVAC labor quotes. Customers should verify any major repair recommendation or part-price claim before agreeing to pay Ideal. Lastly, the timing left me with serious questions. Ideal serviced the unit in August 2025, before the labor warranty expired. When I turned it back on May 3, 2026, it short cycled and Ideal diagnosed a significant coil leak. I cannot prove what Ideal knew in August, but if the leak was present or developing then, waiting until after the labor warranty expired would obviously benefit Ideal financially. That timing and everything above destroyed my trust in this company.

Do NOT trust this company. They installed our system and less than 2 years later, it started…read moreleaking refrigerant. They sent a technician out who "couldn't find" the leak and wanted to charge us almost $1000 for a nitrogen test, the standard for our area is $200-$400. They promised a free leak check before they made us do the nitrogen test and then changed their mind and said they could only stand by what they promised if we signed up for their maintenance program. We found an honest contractor who found the leak in 2 minutes and charged us less for the entire repair than Ideal would have charged us just for the materials. They were literally 3x more expensive, with HORRIBLE customer service to boot. Save yourself a headache and avoid Ideal Services.
