We came here for a weekday date night. It was quiet, cozy and intimate. The waitress was nice and soft spoken (adding to the relaxing atmosphere). We ended up getting the Tuesday Dinner Special (2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $59) He got the Lamb Lollipop Chops and I ordered the Glazed Salmon. The entrees were delicious. However, the Crème Brule's top was too think, while the creme was not sweet enough. Will be going back. read more

The Friday night Wine Dinner is more affordable than the Sunday Wine Dinner and it was very enjoyable. Appetizer was a baked stuffed shrimp on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes. The Cesar Salad was crisp and not overly dressed. The main course was a broiled pork chop that was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. We did add a dessert and an extra glass of wine so maybe our tab equaled the Sunday dinner. The atmosphere is casual and a bit noisy, but it was a fun and satisfying dinner. This is the best food and service we have ever had! My husband and I came for our anniversary. I had salmon with risotto. They were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered sea scallops. They were slightly too salty for him, but everything is now that he's on a low salt diet. My husband and I love this place so much I bought the cookbook. He always gets the "Three Brothers" because everything is so good here he can't decide on just one main dish. I always get the filet mignon. For dessert, the raspberry bread pudding never fails. The waitresses always seem happy to be there and the food is presented nicely. The look of this place is also pretty unique, sort of art deco meets merrimack mills. I won't deduct any stars because this doesn't necessarily interfere with the quality of the restaurant but-don't sit outside. Good food, in fact very good. The papardelle Bolognese was excellent, if a tad sweet. The waitress was pleasant enough but the service was so slow it ruined the whole experience. Unless you count the dark interior, hard booths, and the TV. Oh yes and waiting for the water glass refills. And your $8 salad with goat cheese? It would be better if it actually HAD goat cheese to accompany the 3 lettuce leaves and one cherry tomato. After I complained, they did bring out the cheese on the side, with apologies. Really. delightful... cozy and boisterous and the same time. the food was amazing. the red sangria left something to be desired, and it did seem like the waitress did not want to keep our drinks full. almost had to trip her just to get her attention. minor quibble - Allagash White is the only "micro" brew on tap, didn't see very many bottles either. lots of wine however. overall very good meal experience. read more

Best food you can get in Haverhill, easy. The dinning room is small and a bit loud at times, but overall the atmosphere is great. I have eaten there probably five or six times and the food was great all but once. Even that time the food was better than most places in Haverhill, it was just not up to par with what you come to expect from their kitchen. For a first-time visitor I would recommend the Three Brothers, you get a bit of steak, chicken and shrimp on top of AWESOME mashed potatoes (so much butter, mmmm). Great food and great drinks. This is an excellent spot for a date. One of several gems in the renaissance of downtown Haverhill. It's cozy and also right on Washington street, so after dinner you can enjoy drinks or live music at several nearby spots within 1-2 blocks. I highly recommend Keon's. read more

My wife and I are extremely disappointed. So much so that I am writing this on our drive home from the restaurant. Let me first say DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! We arrived at 5:45 pm but were seated right away. Good thing. However, not until 6:05 were we asked what we'd like to drink and if we'd like to place any food orders. Since we were waiting twenty minutes for our waters and beverages we also knew what our main entrees were going to be. Therefore we ordered two drinks and two entrees at approximately 6:05 pm. Might even have been earlier than that. Anyways we got the drinks within 10 mins but the FOOD TOOK ONE HOUR!!!!!! This place is tiny! Granted it was busy but ONE HOUR IS UNACCEPTABLE! On top of it the food came out and wasn't even that good! Not for the price and believe me my wife and I do not mind paying for good food. This was covered in a gravy that completely dulled the taste of the entree and loaded with salt. then they had the nerve to discount me my $10 glass of crappy wine and a Diet Coke after we waited for an hour to get our food. Also asking politely 3 times how much longer it would take.. not event given a free appetizer to help hold us over due to their screw up with either forgetting to put our order in or the kitchen not knowing how to cook!! read more

Just ok. Way overpriced, but the food is good. The lamb lollipops were amazing. For dinner, got sirloin ($33). Had better at the 99 - small and grisly but tasty and cooked to perfection. We have eaten there four times and every time it has been excellent. Most recently we enjoyed their three course wine dinner at $29.00pp. You can't beat that anywhere considering the quality of food and three glasses of wine included. We arrived on time for our reservation....which you absolutely need on a Friday or Saturday, and our table was not ready. The owner came over and apologized profusely and proceeded to buy us two rounds of drinks while waiting for our table. THAT is how you run a business! I'm not a fan of this place. We only went once and never came back. We don't particularly enjoy the type of places that are super pricey with tiny portion sizes...this is AMERICA! But we went at happy hour where it was half off appetizers. We split two appetizers and got 3 drinks between the two of us and the bill came close to $70! What a waste! And we didn't even like the food that much... The service is fine, and we got to sit outside on a beautiful day, but definitely will not be coming back. read more

Excellent meal. I had the pork chop and my fiancé had the baked haddock. Our friends both had the burger. All us loved our meals and you can tell they take great pride in their food. We had the pulled pork spring rolls for an app and they were very good. Resturant is small and has an interesting style but it's nice. A bit dated but it fits the area. Waitress service was the only real weak point. She just didn't seem to care and only did the bare minimum with no smile. Keons. Brand new to Haverhill I wanted to find a good local spot. By all accounts Keons looked ok online. Oh how I was wrong. Not only was it a waste of time, I was refused service. Showed up to see 3 empty bar seats and I was ready to enjoy myself and what could have been a start to a long relationship. That changed quickly. I was approached by a man who claimed to be the owner. He asked if I had reservations becasue he saved his bar seats for regulars and friends. This was because he didn't want to lose money. I was ready to spend my money with them. As the first time customer interaction, Keons went against all things taught about customer service. The 1st interaction with a customer is the most important if you really want someone to be a repeat customer. Ill never go back and spread the word to others not to waste time or money at Keons. They need some serious help in their business/ culture. One other bar I saw do this went under. So best of luck, the owner is the one who gave this perception of his business and I hope he realizes this is what will happen. Terrible business practice. I'm never let down at a visit to Alan's Keon's. I always get the same dish, regardless of who I'm with...and this is where I bring, pretty-much, everyone who comes to see me in town. Once again, the food is spectacular...perfectly plated and seasoned...a feast for the eyes and 'buds'. So, my only let down, ever, would be something as silly as the steroe not working!!!!
