It's a nice little bar with pool tables that cost 1.25 per game. They have hand and cue chalk available. Nice beer on tap though the selection is limited. If this bar had an ATM or the ability to provide cash for customer desiring to play pool. I brought 8 dollars in quarters and my debit card; unfortunately, I was unable to procure more quarters for the tables. I was willing to throw away another 20-30$ on pool games. The only way to get more quarters for those cashless fools that come here is to risk public intoxication (all implications of that should be considered. Chesapeake police have a pepper spray fetish that should be taken into consideration when when being public drunk. Being drunk in public is a crime in this area. This bar is just setting people up for the police to charge them for public drunk. read more

This is the worst Kelly's we have been to. The place is in need of a make over. The first seat we were going to be sat at the smell was overwhelming, the host apologized and moved us. The smell of stale smoke was disgusting & our waitress had on to strong of perfume. AND we still ordered, but after finding mold in my water glass that was it. Their "signature burgers" were just ever slightly better than McD's. Thin pieces of meat advertised as half a pound - three wouldn't make half a pound! Very disappointing food. The beer on tap was limited but cheap, which may explain some of the decent ratings here. $40 for 2 beers, a crappy burger and a soup and sandwich with a way too generous tip. Good service, simply awful food. The crab stuffed mushrooms arrived with our entree over-cooked, dry, unappealing and tasteless. At $11.99, it costs more than a burger. Didn't bother finishing it or trying to return it to the haggard server. The $15 chicken whatever with crab was a tiny portion of chicken, cooked alright, with tasteless "crab" on top that was dry and flaky. Green beans on side were cooked well, but tasteless. Potatoes were okay, but nothing special. The "hump punch" cocktail was tasty, but not worth $9.99. Never coming back to this location. read more

That item is that if yelp shows that a place averages 2.5 stars, said place is probably not good. Having seen that Kelly's at Greenbrier was 2.5 stars, I should have chosen another place to eat lunch the other day...but giving them the benefit of the doubt, due to past experiences at their Colley avenue location, I went against my better judgment... I ordered a whiskey sour. What i expected was a drink in a whiskey glass or high ball glass. I got a large juice or some type of parfait glass filled with sour mix and ice. I assume my bourbon was in there somewhere. I was told all drinks come in the weird glass per mgt. The worst of all Kellys Tavern locations in Hampton Roads. They don't make margeritas, the fries were burnt (I was told that's how the cook makes them) and they understand the concept of medium well. They have drink and food specials that the waitress told me about but I was too distracted by the dirty tables, floors and overall bad appearance of this location. I will stick to the great bridge location if I want to get a burger. read more

There's smoking indoors in a bar? That's not even legal in California (although there is many places that allow it illegally). There's a jukebox and couple of pool tables. We came here on a late Wednesday night, the kitchen closes at 12:30am and fried food till 1:30am so we ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger. Ehh. Not terrible, not great. I give it two stars for the food and one for the service. My family was in town for a soccer tournament and Kelly's was close to our hotel so we thought we'd give it a try. My cousin, dad and I each ordered a burger medium rare... they all were cooked well done and were dry and flavorless. Disappointing :( I didn't try the fries but didn't hear any complaints about them. My onion rings were actually pretty good - you know how usually the onion slides out and you're left with a hollow fried thing? Well they use thick slices of onion that stay put. They were a little too greasy for my taste but oh well. All of the food here is greasy. The sauce that came with the onion rings was really good, probably the best tasting part of the meal to be honest. Like I said, one star is for the service. We asked our waiter if he knew what the weather was supposed to be like later in the week and not only did he look it up for us, he pretended to be a TV weather man and put on a pretty entertaining skit for us. read more

I've been going to Kelly's on Laskin since I was 21... Never set foot in this Kelly's until tonight. I walked back to the bar. On entry the only place to sit was the stool that had chicken tenders and napkins on the floor in front of it. This whole side of the bar needs a wipe down. Perhaps the bar back is on a smoke break. I ordered a shocktop because there was no blue moon. Glass completely water logged my bar napkin. I'm waiting to see if the bartender is going to notice and offer to replace it with a dry one. I won't hold my breath. The atmosphere is friendly and the pool tables are naturally full on a Saturday night. I'm simply here to stall for time. Otherwise, if I were here on a date, I would be more displeased. read more

I am a Kelly's Fan! Their food is pretty consistent. The Greenbriar location is my favorite... All locations are not equal, had a bad experience at the Battlefield location so I would never go there again. But on a positive note the Ranch is the BEST! I love their Chicken Quesadilla and Buffalo Hot Wings. This is my go to spot when I want something good to eat. read more

I would love to write a review about the service...but there wasn't any! I am an old road dog and eat out enough. Things happen and I understand this fact. Sadly NOTHING happened? Sit at the bar and I am competing with ZERO other customers and still managed to lose? "The luck of the Irish....Curse" Bartender asked would you like a drink and I asked for water with a lemon and a menu. Got my water...Great start and that's where it went down hill. 5 minutes later...would you like a menu and I reply yes (Guess she missed it the first time) Then again she ask me, would you like a menu. Now I am at the point I am glad I don't drink cause I would of had to cut myself off for thinking I have asked for a menu 3 times... Get the menu...Yay, light at the end of this tunnel (Was impressed with the Craft burgers) but after watching her and the new guy bartender that was running late, but had the time to tell her his life story then went and saw his buddies sitting out in the dining area while I sat...This is the point I realized I have been in a restaurant at a bar with no other customers and I have lost 18 minutes of my life...waiting. I just got up and walk out. I will always wonder what the Rowdy Reuben Burger is like, but understand it is impossible to find out. I can say with the work ethics of those employees...They are a business wrecking crew. There is no way management cannot see this. Hate leaving negative reviews but I also hate wasting my time. Our first time visiting this place, we were very excited to be there. However, our first encounter with a short blonde girl was very upsetting, she never said hello, we asked for where their pool tables were and she just pointed as if we were interrupting here evening. I grew up in a bar/Resturant never have I ever made any of our patriots feel unwelcomed before they even sat down. We sat there for about 5mins with no service, my boyfriend finally went up to the bar and asked and this same short blond girl walks over and says "I got you" and points her hand over to the bar area. We had sat down by the pool tables, she said NOT THERE still just pointing her hand and not once even greeting us, at this point I was already done feeling we were treated rudely. Grungy bar. Littered with drunk retirees yelling and hollering about nothing important. Most of the men(regulars) yelling for more beer whilst crowding around the virtual golf game. Bartender was rude and unkempt, didnt seem to know very much about the menu, but could pop the top off of a beer bottle very well. I can make better food in a microwave, blindfolded. The food is good pub food, the service is MEH... the waitresses seem to be focused on hit and run service. Don't really feel like they are engaged, they forgot two different orders. One they remembered after my entree ordered showed up (appetizer) and the second was a drink I ordered later, never showed up and they hardly talked to me after the initial order and they delivered it. Would of liked a more engaging service, but the trainee was given advice, the question is will she learn better service skills. Went there for a work related thing - I made the mistake of ordering a fried fish sandwich thinking I would get something edible...WRONG. The oil the fish was fried in was clearly old and dark colored, and the sandwich was dry. I asked for some sort of sauce to go with it, but they were out of what would have paired best with it (remoulade sauce). I spoke with the waitress and was able to switch it out for a burger which was better thankfully. The service was OK (took some time to get refills), but nothing really to write home to. I would think with all the development going on in the greenbrier area that this Kelly's would follow suit - clearly not the case. If it wasn't for a work related event, I wouldn't eat here again, but since it is and is on the books for the next few months, looks like I'm sticking with the burger forever. read more

Worst service ever!!! We've been coming to Kelly's for 20 years and this was the worst. After waiting for 45 minutes for our burgers, I asked where they were. Another 20 minutes passed and when I brought it to the attention of the manger she told me rather rudely that it was because the ticket was lost, but they had a lot going on with a lot of orders.Well, I would think our ticket would be a priority if we'd been waiting that long! When I asked the manager what her name was, she completely lied and said her name was Sara when it was really Kristen and then completely ignored me and refused to speak to me. We stood there for about 5 minutes with no employee in sight except one outside smoking. I looked around the room and saw 5 tables occupied and 4 of those were still waiting for food. Bad experience. One waitress for the entire restaurant and kitchen staff could not keep up. The restaurrant ran out of iced tea twice, food was ice cold and undercooked and had to be sent back to the kichen. By the time it returned everyone at our table was finished and had to watch me eat. Not acceptable and hope they get there act together because the food can be very good. Management where are you? Hard to justify one star read more
