This is a loud and boisterous sports bar. Friendly and there were kids here with some sort of bingo or trivia going on. I was able to tune it out and enjoy my dinner. A plate of chicken wings, hot buffalo, took about 25 minutes. A long time but the place was busy and I enjoyed two light beers while it took a while. Was not too impressed by Buckets on my visit for Sunday football in November. I arrived early about noon and my first impression was sports bar. On Sundays for the NFL games they have the TVs labeled. I sat at the bar for convenience, but the TV for my Bills game was in a corner, literally. The service for me at the bar was slow and there was hardly anyone there. They do have another section where I think there is gambling, or smoking, or something, not really sure I didn't go through that door and you couldn't see in. I started with a craft beer and it was better than the service. About 20 minutes or so before my game was going to start, I ordered food, wings and tater tots from the NFL menu. I then moved from the bar to a table where I could see the game. Logistically I had to sit at a table which was right to the left of the door. The TV was across and every time people walked in they would pause in front of me and the TV. Not so cool. Also, because I had started at the bar, none of the servers who were waiting the tables ever even stopped by to see if I needed anything. So I would walk back to the bar for another beer, exercise... so winning! Which brings me to another topic, I thought the service was slow at the bar, but once the place was packed, all the guests were getting slow service. About a half hour into the game, which is about 50 minutes from when I ordered wings and tater tots, my food came and of course it was wrong. What I think is hilarious is that I had ordered before the rush of guests and it took them a while to make my food. When I left the bar at half time there were guests who had come in around the start of the game and were just getting their food. So at halftime I left that bar, never to return and walked across the street and over the bridge to a bar with much better service, more beer options, better food and I could watch the game without people walking in front of the screen every few minutes. read more

We went for the first time about a week ago and overall, we did like it. That said, the service was incredibly slow, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty. Most of the food was good, but the cheeseburger was a big letdown. It was very dense and tightly formed, and felt like something that had been bought frozen and reheated rather than fresh. It didn't have that restaurant-quality texture or flavor you expect when going out to eat. In comparison, the smash burger was actually really good, so it's clear the kitchen is capable of making a solid burger. The cheeseburger also seemed completely unseasoned. It basically tasted like plain meat with ketchup, lettuce, and tomato, which made it even more disappointing. I am looking for sampling other offerings. It's my recommendation that afternoons for lunch is best as evenings tend to be much more crowded. We were looking for a new wing spot and this is the place to go especially on Wednesdays! On Wednesdays it is only 50 cents per wing and $1 bud light drats. The wings were amazing! My favorite was the bourbon brown sugar wings. The service was since we went early, but if you go at night then good luck since it gets extremely packed. Buckets seems to be designed for an older crowd. It's your standard sports bar atmosphere. The night that I went, there was karaoke which was entertaining to listen to. The food was pretty good ( I had a really good burger) and so were the cocktails. Prices were average. If you are trying to meet people, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place. It was mostly families, couples, and older folk. I can also say that our waitress was not particularly friendly but attentive enough. My daughter and I really enjoyed our lunch yesterday. She had the wings (mango and Nashville Hot) and liked them both but really enjoyed the mango ones. I agree, they were both tasty but the mango ones had a nice extra kick to them! My Reuben was grilled just right with plenty of corned beef and toppings! Talk about a surprise with this one! I drive past Buckets several times a week and have always assumed it was a dive bar/night spot. My physical therapist gave them a glowing recommendation, so I mentioned it to hubby recently as a spot to grab a bite. We met some family there last weekend and I was floored. It's occupies a good size spot in a strip shopping center on Battlefield, just north of the Locks Bridge. The parking lot could use some serious attention with repairs and repainting, but there is plenty of space available. There are 2 entrances, which we didn't notice. We took the entrance to the right (if you're facing the building) and I must have had a very confused look on my face. There was a hostess here to direct us to the dining room, thank goodness. So this side is occupied by a few tables and long bar. I noted that most everyone present had eyes glued to the MANY tv's and their tables were covered by betting sheets for horse racing. We were directed thru the door to the left into the spacious, notably clean dining room with plenty of high top tables, bar seating and booths. There are tons of tv's on this side too, which makes me ready to return for football Sundays in the fall! We joined our dining companions who had already devoured an appetizer sampler and ordered our drinks. Tap beers were served in plastic cups, which I didn't care for considering the waste factor and coldness factor. The place is nice looking and the plastic cups detract from that. They do have great prices for domestic bottles and offer daily specials. Hubs and his brother both had a hankering for steak. I selected the caprese salad and another had the club. Our food was DELICIOUS! The steaks were cooked perfectly, but just slightly over-seasoned. The hand-cut french fries were the best! My caprese salad was a good portion, satisfying and fresh and the club got rave reviews as well. Our server was prompt and attentive through the whole experience. The prices are incredibly reasonable and go along with outstanding service and tasty food. I underestimated this place and wish I had stopped in sooner. We go in frequently for the wing Wednesday special. Wings come out quickly and are hot. Service is great considering how busy they are. If you order anything additional such as fries expect them to come out well after your wings, due to the fryers being utilized for the massive amount of wings they are producing... You can choose 2 flavors for each 12 piece wing meal. They have several to choose from. We are empty nesters so we go after 7pm, as this place gets super busy on wing night. The service is spot on and the wings come out quickly! For tonight I tried one of their bucket drinks $13, the tropical bucket, it wasn't too sweet and I enjoyed it with the spicy wings we chose. We absolutely love the lemon pepper, mango habanero, teriyaki and the garlic. We like a little heat but they have several flavors that are spicier. I am so upset and disappointed in this bar. We went on Friday night for karaoke. First: the karaoke DJ was the worst I have witnessed in the FOUR states I have lived in. Never ONCE I have gone to karaoke where the DJ does not put the karaoke requests IN ORDER. He played what he wanted in the order he wanted then did 30 minutes of slide music where he lost half the bar. Second: the bar itself was terrible. We bought one round when we first got there and it took 15 minutes for them to cash us out. Second round of drinks (we were each paying for one round so we paid out each time) they took another 15-20 minutes before anyone even came to SEE if we wanted another round. The last round........ we went to pay out, the server left, no one bothered us until we insisted that we wanted to pay our tab!! Wow. Worst service EVER. We could have walked out of the bar without paying and absolutely no one would have known. Will not go back and do not recommend. read more

The prices are average the food is decent. It's not great. Of course the menu said my BLT was "piled high" which meant for slices. I may have called it piled medium but hey it was only ten bucks. If I was to rate them against the other places close by. They blow red bones out of the water, but red bones sucks. It's not as crowded as woodies and more socially interactive than chilli's. I've loved coming to Buckets for years. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food and drinks are great. I love their crushes; they have orange, peach, pineapple, and blackberry. Bartender "Ross" was delightful and fueled the day with those delicious tropical buckets that made me feel two decades younger than I am. After having a horrible experience at another chain restaurant yesterday, the wife and I decided to try and find a good local place for food. It's a seat yourself kind of place, so we picked a booth and sat down. Our server was quick to bring us menus and take our drink orders. There were only two servers, and they were doubling as bartenders and a decently populated bar, so their speed and attentiveness was much appreciated. My wife ordered the Classic Cheeseburger, and I ordered the boneless garlic parmesan wings. Food came out quickly, and man was it good. The burger was perfectly cooked and the hand cut fries were delicious. If I had one complaint, it's that the boneless wings were chicken tenders cut up, and not what you would typically consider boneless wings. That being said, they were really good, and there was a ton of flavor in the garlic Parmesan sauce. Overall we had a very pleasant experience here, and I fully expect us to visit again. read more
