*Looks both ways* So... I'm a swamped grad student. I mean, I work at minimum 60 hour weeks, and that's not counting time spent in class. My husband, witnessing how stressed it was making me to try to keep up with household chores on top of it all thought that, sometimes, maybe we could bring in some help. But we wanted someone who used eco-friendly cleaning products, as I insist on doing. Someone who did a good job and didn't bother J, who works from home. We found our option here. After trying another service who showed up several hours after our appointment, we switched to KiG and haven't looked back. Our regular housekeeper is a delightful woman and seriously meticulous. The peace of mind she gives me is worth the cost, and my house always smells great when she's done. It may take me longer to afford furniture for my house as a result, but it's worth it to me to have a cleaner home! Definitely recommended. read more

It's dissapointing that I was not contacted until AFTER i wrote a review on Yelp... I got a generic email as an apology... wow thanks guys... that made such a big difference... still not addressing the fact that what I was told when I booked the appointment and what was actually delivered were on opposite spectrums... I will be posting the pictures (that are timestamped) later today... what they did to us is over... if we can save just ONE more person from this company then my job is done... I called BEFORE the cleaning crew had even left the home. It's funny BRYAN is replying to this bc the woman on the phone was the only person who pretended to offer a solution to the complaint. She admitted to saying yes they would have to charge me more to finish... She admitted that I asked her to please finish the job. She then admitted she didn't have time to wait for them that's why they left. Thats when I hung up... this conversation again was 3 DAYS LATER!!! My mother is being accused of approving the work even though I was the one on speakerphone asking them to please COMPLETE it... Throughout the WHOLE ordeal the only thing we wanted was a completed job... a refund is nothing (especially when here we are Wed with no money back) No offense Bryan but you guys are just plain bad at what you claim to do... after posting this review i have had 13 people tell me that they would pay to NOT have you come out and clean for them again... and i should feel lucky you even showed up in the first place.. read more

I purchased a Groupon for 3x cleaning through Keep it Green. The first time I scheduled an appointment online, I never received a confirmation or word from them until they called to say they were at my house - I had assumed the appointment never went through and was out of town. I was also slapped with a surprise required tip charge online when booking. I'm sure it was on the fine print for Groupon but it caught me off guard. Attempt 2 went much more smoothly and they did a fantastic job cleaning the house. We're in a 3br townhome and they had no trouble at all doing a good thorough cleaning in 1 hour (they brought 2 workers so they only stayed for 1 hour instead of 2). Cleanings 2 & 3 had additional issues - either they didn't call to confirm, didn't get to the house until after the appointment time, etc. But the cleaning was once again thorough and well done. If you can put up with a lack of communication, the service I received was great. Personally I don't like the uncertainty and time changes, so I'll have to change my service provider now that the coupon is used. read more

Keep It Green Maids has done a wonderful job with our home. We have a large house and they have been able to do a thorough and efficient cleaning every time. For reference, we have Pacita come every other week and it seems to be perfect. Pacita and her team are extremely responsive and reliable. It is unfortunate that I have to even give this company any stars at all. One is way too much. This was a terrible experience from day one. They are a horrible company with an unorganized Owner, and NO customer service whatsoever. I purchased a Groupon for 3 cleanings one year ago. I tried and tried to set up an appointment with no success. The first month after calling about 25 times I finally got someone to answer. They told me that they were too busy and that it was good for a year, so I should try again next month. Next I tried using their website. I scheduled my appointment for about 3 weeks in advance, and got an email back a few days later confirming. The day comes and no one shows up. I call and no one answers, so I respond to the email address that I got the confirmation from. It turns out to be the owner that responds named Pacita. I get her phone number and call her directly. She tells me I am too far, and I am outside their 20 mile range. I map it out, and I am in fact not out of their range. I tell Pacita this, and she said "oh...ok we will be there next week." Next week comes around and no one shows again. I try again about a month later. Same routine. No one answers. I send emails that I know they are getting, but no response. I do this at least a few times a month until June when someone finally answers the phone. They tell me that I have to use the website to request service. I explain how this has not worked so far. I try to express my frustration, and they had already hung up on me. I try the website again. This time not using the "Groupon Only" link. I spam this every day until I finally get a reply from the same email address that Pacita contacted me from the first time. They tell me that I have an appointment scheduled for the next week. The day comes, and no one shows up. Three days later I get an email: " Good Morning! Is your wife name (Wrong Name)? We have you scheduled for today under your wife's name. And just want inform this is your last cleaning sessions. Because we did 2 cleaning sessions already. My maids will call you 30 mins. prior coming to your home. Have a good day." Two days later: " My guys will be at there today to clean at home. I apologized made a mistake, (Wrong Name) not your wife. But I will let them take care your home for today. Please let me know If this is convenient Pacita" Then, no one shows, no one calls. The next day I get this gem: "It seems that we have had communication issues, but we did in fact email you prior to your scheduled clean. We believe it to be in the best interest of both parties to go our separate ways. I apologize that things could not work out. Please contact Groupon in regards to a refund. Take Care," The only decent reviews I read on here are all from people that used their service without a Groupon. They never should have tried to bring in more volume than they could handle. The problem started when I bought the Groupon and called that same day (9/27) to make an appointment. I understand that Groupons can't be redeemed right away, but I figured that I could make an appointment for the future. Instead, the man who answered the phone -- who sounded wholly indifferent to providing any customer service whatsoever -- said that I had to wait until the next day to make an appointment. He said they were waiting to get a list from buyers from Groupon first. Did he offer to take my phone number and call me back the next day? No. Did he ask for my Groupon code, which would have given some indication that I was an actual buyer? No. I called the next day (9/28) and left a message. Bryan called me back. I don't know if he was the same man I spoke to the previous day, but he had the same less-than-helpful attitude. I set up an appointment for October 11, which was the earliest one I could get. Then he asked for my Groupon code, but due to computer problems on my end, I couldn't tell it to him right away. I emailed the Groupon code to Bryan the next day (9/29). Later that day, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email saying there had been a cancellation and would I like to move my appointment up to tomorrow (9/30) at 1 PM. I readily agree. About an hour and half later (12:26 PM), I receive another email saying that the opening is actually at 9:30 AM, not 1 PM, and would that still work for me. I didn't immediately read this email (I was out), and I ended up replying at 4:43 PM saying the new time was fine. I didn't receive a reply that day. Today it is 9/30, and I am getting the house ready for the maids to arrive at 9:30 AM. As far as I know, everything is on schedule. I finally check my email around 9 AM, and I see a terse email saying the 9:30 AM slot was filled and my appointment has reverted back to October 11th. Right after reading that, I got a call from Michael at Keep It Green. He was calling to verify that I received the email. I asked him about my slot going to someone else, and he said it was because I didn't reply to the 12:26 PM email right away. Apparently they contacted several people about the 9:30 AM slot, and someone else replied first. Nothing in the email said that I had a deadline by which to reply, nor did Keep It Green try to call me on 9/29 about the changed time. Needless to say, I was not happy about the poor communication and last-minute changes. When I asked Michael if he could understand my frustration about by being yanked around multiple times, he said yes. That's it. Just "yes" -- no effort to apologize or make the situation better. He then asked if I still wanted the October 11th appointment. I said that I was planning to contact Groupon to ask for a refund. Again, Michael made NO EFFORT to provide anything resembling customer service. He said to let him know about the appointment, and that was it. End of call. I am appalled by this company's attitude. Maybe their cleaning staff deserves positive reviews, but their office staff does NOT. EDITED TO ADD (10/19/10): Bryan's response below has the customer service attitude that I was looking for, and I appreciate his apology and effort to conciliate. It's an admirable reaction to a poor review. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to see it as anything more than PR fluff when no one has contacted me directly to try to make things right. Bryan responded to my email, seemed to understand my concerns and ultimately offered a complimentary clean to be completed upon availability. From what I have read Bryan is very good at apologizing for a job that isn't done well, trying to justify why it wasn't done well and say that things will be done differently next time. I am choosing to decline Bryan's offer. For why would I have someone come back to do something that wasn't done correctly the first time, when I needed it done, and I had to turn around and do it myself? Purchased cleaning via Groupon and tried three times to contact vendor by phone over the course of ten days. None of my calls were returned. Finally went to vendor's web site and noticed that they had a special Groupon page set up for booking appointments. Booking page says appointment will not be confirmed without -prior- submission of mandatory 15% gratuity, which was not mentioned anywhere when the Groupon was purchased. As a matter of course, I never prepay gratuities, else they are not gratuities, they're ransoms. Given the difficulty in contacting this vendor and the post-purchase add-on conditions, I have requested a refund from Groupon as I would never allow a difficult-to-contact, less-than-up-front servcie provider access to my home. read more

What reviews you guys are writing about? Well no one is perfect! Human errs are bound to happen to anyone! I dwell on the service they can render me. I have pets so hair balls are everywhere and oh boy they did an excellent job with my stained bathrooms! I have a wooden floor and they made it shiny like its new again! Windowpanes are thoroughly dusted and my staircase as well! They left my window glasses spotless and clear! Anyway, never had problem with them and they are easy to talk to! read more

I recently had this company come to my apartment to do spring cleaning/first time service. Comparing with the services they listed on the website and what I was told over the phone to what actually happened, I was short-changed for sure!! I would give them another half star because at least the manager actually helped to get the job done. There were several problems. First, they showed up 3 hours early. It would have been fine but I wasn't home. I had to rush home otherwise I would lose my appointment altogether. I guess they were in a time crunch to go to few other places the same day. I understand the sense of urgency but what is the point of making an appointment then? Cleaning supplies. Okay, clearly like most people who have decided to use their service is because they use green products. Needless to say the only thing they used was vinegar/water/baking soda, etc. I was told they would be using 7th Generation and Mrs. Meyers as well (I recall seeing a Comet or Ajax in bag of "green" products). I don't even think they used any cleaning product in the mopping water! And who knows what they used in the kitchen. She wiped down most of the oily film, but left streaks everywhere. Oh, and they brought a cheap vacuum cleaner and it didn't even work! The manager showed up. He had been calling because he needed to pick up her to go to another appointment. This was less than an hour into the cleaning (I was scheduled for a 2-3 hour spring clean). Then he showed up at my place, without warning. At least he helped her finish with the big stuff (like behind the furniture). Otherwise it would have been much longer than 2 hrs. My last gripe would be lack of organization, from the minute I made my appointment and how my service was actually delivered. Clearly my cleaning person has little attention to details. I had cleaning service before, not often, but enough for me to realize that this is a rip off. I will be trying another green service company. If anything, I'd rather provide the green cleaning products as long as they do a good job cleaning. read more

Though they used the "green" products, and the house did not smell like a bunch of chemicals, they were only on time twice in about 6 months of monthly service. And one time they didn't even show due to their maids having the wrong address...and I had used them 5 times before! To be completely honest I'm unsure how they always make my house looking and smelling so great in two hours! I love that the use eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning supplies since I have kids and pets in my home. My two cleaning ladies that come out are always so friendly and are very prudent in their efforts. The place looked great every time and they are very quiet so it doesn't interrupt me when I am at home working I highly recommend Keep it Green Maids for your house cleaning! read more

We purchased a Groupon for Keep it Green cleaning service in Houston, TX for a total of 6 hours of cleaning. I didn't think to check out any reviews online before purchasing (shame on me). I emailed the company prior to buying the Groupon to ensure that I was within their 20 mile radius which they said I was. I emailed them to schedule the first cleaning and didn't hear anything. So I called 2 days later to find out if they could come out and clean for a total of 2 hours. We scheduled the appointment for the afternoon timeframe between 1-5pm. They said they would call 30 minutes prior to arriving. When they didn't show up by 2pm I got worried and sent an email and left a voicemail. After repeated attempts to get in touch w/ someone, I finally received a call back from the owner who said they got busy that day and could they come the next day. Reluctantly I agreed to have them come the next day. 3 cleaners came in addition to the owner. I asked them to clean all of the floors and 2 bathrooms. Since they brought the extra people I would get 1 hour of cleaning. The owner ended up cleaning all of the floors while the other 3 people cleaned the bathrooms. I was disappointed with the job that they did as the bathrooms were not very clean after they left. I almost cancelled the rest of my Groupon, but thought I'd give them another try. So in late November, I emailed them to schedule the remainder of the 4 hours of cleaning I had left on Monday, Dec 19th. I had company arriving that week & wanted the house clean before they arrived. Once again I didn't hear from them. I emailed them a 2nd time and they replied they were putting together their schedule for December and I would hear back in 2 days. Well 2 days went by and no email to confirm. I emailed them again to find out if they could come and they confirmed the 19th and the afternoon timeframe of 1-5pm. So on Dec 19th at 1pm when no one had called & no one showed up I called and emailed them. After all I was supposed to get 4 hours worth of cleaning so I expected them to show up at 1pm. I finally got a call back at 3:45 from the owner who said they couldn't come that afternoon since someone called in sick that day. So why didn't they call me earlier? Then she asked me if I was within the 20 mile radius! Now why would you ask someone that if you had already come to their house once already to clean?? She said they could come the next day if that was ok. I explained that I had company arriving that night and it was a huge inconvenience for me to hang around while my company was visiting for the holidays while they cleaned my house for 4 hours. So she said she would bring extra people. I asked how many and how long they would stay. She finally agreed to bring 4 people to clean for an hour. She said they would be at the house by 10am which was the earliest they could arrive. I asked her to call me when they were on their way. Needless to say at 10am they had not arrived yet. The owner called and was lost and needed directions again to the house which I gave to her. Then she called back 15 minutes later and said her GPS died and could I give her directions again. Geez!!! Was my house ever going to get cleaned. When they arrived the owner came to the door and said oh yes I remember coming here before. She told her workers to come in and clean and told me she would wait in the car. No apology's for rescheduling or being late. She never came back in to check the work (which if she did she would have noticed that they stairs hadn't been cleaned, or the top of the dresser in the master bedroom was still untouched or that there were hairs on the bathroom floors). All I can say is never, ever do business with this company. It's bad enough that they can't keep to the schedule they make, or get a GPS that works or call you when they are going to be late or can't come, but to then do a piss poor job of cleaning your house is just unacceptable. Next time I'll do a search for any company I plan on using before buying their services. read more

We have been so pleased to have Keep it Green's services for the last 6 months. They have been punctual, courteous and extremely thorough in cleaning our home. The staff has paid a lot of attention to detail when they've cleaned, making sure they get to every corner. I just moved in to a new house and with pets and move-in mess and the holidays and guests, this place was a wreck. The team came in and worked efficiently and methodically and walked out of a museum-clean house. They were pleasant and very pet-friendly, which adds another five stars in my book. Plus, their list of services on their home page has found its way into my home preventative maintenance plan. I'm surprised at the negative reviews because they're totally 180 degrees from my experience. I have been using Keep It Green Maids for almost 4 years, and have been nothing but pleased with the owner and her entire cleaning team! They are great about confirming appointments and informed if any changes need to be made (usually based on traffic or weather issues). Special cleaning needs, on occasion, are always accommodated. I love that the owner drives to every cleaning and supervised while her team is busy at my home. Keep It Green Maids is a life-saver to me, and my entire family!!! read more

Keep it Green was spotty for me. My first cleaning was awful (crumbs on the counter, floors not cleaned, my plug protectors (for my toddler) not plugged back in, still dust on surfaces, they USED MY SPONGES AND BATH WASHCLOTHS TO CLEAN AND LEFT THEM WET, for some reason my toothbrush was wet, bathrooms still not completely cleaned, and they set off my home alarm because they unplugged the main unit and left it that way until the security company called me). I called with my concerns right away and spoke with Michael, who arranged for the cleaning to be redone, and gave me a free additional cleaning. The redo was better and the free cleaning was good, too (done by the owner, apparently). I chose to not continue with Keep it Green because the price I was quoted went up when I went to make an appointment because "you have been getting the 'Spring Cleaning' all this time" (I started this with a Groupon). Honestly, if not for the bad cleaning the first time and having to have it redone, I would have paid the higher price. But combine that with the higher price and it became too much trouble. Pacita, the owner, was very nice and so was Michael and Bryan. Michael did attempt to make this right, but I guess I'm picky. I give them 4 stars because the cleaning Pacita did was pretty good (though my floor work was still a little spotty, but I literall only have one carpet in my home, and the rest are all tile and wood floors, so not hard to miss a spot).
