I sampled the biscuit with gravy which was peppery and light and this one out-biscuits my prior experiences elsewhere. Two eggs with hash browns and an orange rounded out my treats. If anyone saw the table with 4 big plates they would report me for overdoing breakfast. I loved every bite of what I tried. While we were there a little boy was celebrated for his birthday. They enjoy eating here and usually have no problem. It took a good 20 minutes before our server took our drink order, and even longer to take our dinner order. We all three ordered because I changed my mind and decided I wanted a club sandwich, I also ordered a salad and so did my friend. We never got them until our meal arrived, and even then one was forgotten. When one of my friends received her order it was the wrong one. She ordered a chicken sandwich, not a burger. The burger that did come was burnt; luckily that is not what she ordered. We had to ask for refills as our server was walking by. She never once came to our table to see if we were doing OK. Tonya immediately made our day sparkle with her warmth and her gift for treating people like long-awaited friends. We had the pancake combo and I had a very nice avocado toast on rye. Taking in all the special vintage items kept us occupied. I wished we could partake of the amazing looking pies they sell but, alas, we were not only satisfied but hoping to see more sights. We love Tehachapi and Tonya, with her wonderful personality will be a fond menory of this trip. My husband, who draws pictures, handed her some wee sketches and she was so gracious. Everyone was happy with their food. The only thing that was slightly disappointing but no one's fault, was that we wanted to have the prime rib French dip but they had run out of prime rib. Unfortunately the last few times I've had the chance to stop by have been a few hours before closing, so they tend to be out of a lot of pastries and the breads that I wanted. I ended up getting their Sun Dried Tomato Bread and Cherry Mini Cheesecake. The Sun Dried Tomato Bread was ok, but not something I'd get again. The Cherry Mini Cheesecake is delicious and very filling. Hopefully they won't be out of my favorite pastries on my next visit!
