Torn to the nail bed, bleeding & cracked. Ridiculous.

Never setting foot in this establishment again! Been here once before a few months ago -- got a full set of acrylics & the polish was fully peeling off within three days. Chalked it up to poor quality polish & kept going to my usual nail salon instead. Decided to try KC out again, and I deeply regret it now. Cindy claimed my old set was "too thick" to file down -- and in turn thought it was okay to pry each of my acrylics off with an unused nail tip. Not only is this wrong, but it's PAINFUL! It rips off multiple layers of your natural nail & leaves them thin, brittle & broken. I expressed discomfort with each nail until she got to my right thumb, when she pried the acrylic off so aggressively that it ripped down to my nail bed. It hurt a lot, and I audibly said OW! She apologized & put nail glue over the weak spot and then continued on. On my left hand, she got to the thumb nail and did the EXACT SAME THING. Ripped down to the nail bed so badly that my thumb nail is not only cracked, but bleeding! I told her I was uncomfortable with even getting my nails done by her & that she could clean up the nails, oil them & call it good. She kept apologizing, but I'm sorry, WHY would you remove acrylics this way in the first place? Take the time to grind them down! They weren't even that thick! You can't take the time to file them down correctly to avoid your client being in pain? Ridiculous! I was vocal the entire time about my pain & discomfort. I was in tears by the time she got to the second thumb nail & I had to sit there crying while she finished destroying my nails. But don't worry! She put nail oil on them! All is well! I would've left the second I was uncomfortable but my sister was getting her graduation nails and I wasn't going to leave her alone to get her nails effed up too. For those who like coming to KC, by all means continue. Just leaving this as a warning to anyone who's apprehensive. She offered for me to come back in a few days for a free full set, but this damage will take me weeks to repair and heal from -- and I don't feel comfortable ever coming back.

Amazing experience!!!! The location is close to my house, and since it's summer it's nice and cool inside. I went to get my birthday nails done and I was not disappointed. They turned out AMAZING!!! Highly recommend. The owner was extremely professional and knew exactly what she was doing. I have never seen anyone lay acrylic powder so perfectly before. 10/10 You gotta go here!!!!

I will say they do good work, but Cindy is very rude. She argued with me. She tried to yell at me and because I didn't like how she was doing my toenails she got mad and wiped them off when she wasn't supposed to be doing my toenails her husband was doing them, but some girl came in as a walk in and she wanted to change everything around. I really love how her husband does my toenails. He's really good at it. I've been there twice and the first time I got a pedicure and a manicure and my pedicure came off three of my toenails for no reason so I didn't go right back. I waited till it was time for a fill and then I went back and they didn't give me $10 off of my next pedicure. The first time I went to Cindy was looking at me weird when I walked in there and apparently I was wrong on the time because I had to reschedule and instead of it being at the same time I think it was at 11:30 but anyway I might've been in the wrong and I admitted that but she definitely has an attitude problem and after reading all the reviews and saying that she treats people pretty bad and that's how she treated me She was actually yelling at me while she was doing this young girls fingernails and the young girl was getting involved too because she's been there before it was ridiculous. I've never seen so much on professionalism in my life Cindy had an attitude with me and I'm just not somebody to take it on the customer and that's how you should treat people you shouldn't sit and argue with the people that put food on your table. That's ridiculous. But like I said, read her reviews and see how many people says she yells at them and she's rude. She actually has a really nice husband who does amazing work.

Cindy is my girl!. After bouncing around for a couple years when I first moved to Chico, I found this place and Its been my spot for about 4 years now. I almost always get pink and whites , and vary with my shapes and techniques. If you've ever gotten pink and whites you know it's a lengthy process. Cindy is SO quick, and always does a stellar job . I'm super lazy and rarely get fills on time, and these bad boys stick it out for the long haul. Her fills and backfills are seamless. On the average side when it comes to price but her work is worth more (don't tell her I said that). She also does her OWN NAILS. And they look great too. She recently got certified for microblading (SHE MICROBLADED HER OWN FREAKIN EYEBROWS PEOPLE) and what I've seen from her portfolio is great. I also trust her and know how attentive to detail she is, but if anyone has first hand experience for this service from her please reach out to me and let me know how it went because I am seriously considering going to her! *disclaimer the photo was taken about a week after I got them done

I'm from the Bay Area and it's hard to find good nail shops out here saw the good reviews and decide to give this place a try these are my real nails so I'm super upset that after paying my money and not even a week into me having my nails done one breaks then the other two and one slit so far up my finger still hurts my nails where long now I have to start over because this guy didn't do as good of a job as I thought I have lifting nails and chipping I thought they where kinda thin but also thought the guy Kenny knew what he was doing very upset I wouldn't recommend I wasted my money and my nails a jacked up and I have to cut remaining 7 off smh

Idk how Cindy allows her daughter to act like that at her own business. I would've gave my daughter the boot a long time ago :) she's out here making a bad impression for her own mother smh :(

I went to KC Nails & Spa for the first time and I left extremely impressed and obsessed with my manicure and pedicure. I have tried multiple salons but I have never been as pampered as I was at this one. I did not make an appointment and arrived 45 minutes before closing time; I had to wait but it was worth it! When I arrived I was a little disappointed that they did not have the color I wanted but when I asked them if they were willing to mix polishes; they agreed which made it all better! We tried a couple of options until we found the perfect tone; both Kenny and Cindy were so polite and welcoming to the idea! I was worried that they wouldn't do a good job if I asked them to also give me a manicure after closing time but to my surprise, Cindy was extra detailed with my nails and with my massage. Even though I left the shop an hour and a half after the salon closed, I left obsessed with my nails! I totally recommend this place to everybody; you won't be sorry!

Fantastic experience every time I am in there :) As soon as you walk in the greet you and make sure you are well taken care of. They make sure when you leave, you leave 100% satisfied I have gone in there with my daughters for Mommy and daughter time and every time they take care of us like we were queens. Cindi is very creative with her art designs, find something you like on Pinterest and she will make sure its exactly like the picture, so you can come back every 2 weeks :) I appreciate all the love and dedication you put in when your doing my nails. I love my KC Nails. I love the owners. I love their family. And I have been coming to KC Nails faithfully for the past 4 years I've lived in Chico. Anytime I go anywhere else I am usually disappointed with the quality of my pedicure and customer service. I have never had a bad experience here. My toes are always pedicured to perfection just the way I like. My cuticles are cleaned properly which is so important in the overall appearance of the pedicure. The nail salon atmosphere is calm, quiet and relaxing. Their instruments are always sterilized. And their chairs and pedicure bowls are disinfected after every visit. Very clean and nice place! Fair prices and friendly environment. Didn't hurt at all and my cuticles didn't bleed. Don't mind them in the picture, bite them that wasn't from them. I love my nails! It is exactly what I wanted!! My only complaint is that the salon seemed a little dirty, and there were a few times he hit my cuticles that hurt pretty bad. There was no wait and I am happy with my visit. I'll most likely keep going there. read more

I haven't been here in about 6 months (thanks COVID) and I just dropped by on YELP to see if they're even opened back up only to find 0 reviews. ...This place is one of the best! I called before going to check if there was a wait but was told to come right in. When I arrived, I didn't have to wait, I was seen by the young girl in the shop. Requested a gel manicure with matte top coat. This little girl was so rushed while doing my nails. There was no towel at the work station, both of us were literally covered in the dust from her filing off my previous color. There was no arm cushion and she held my hand in mid air while standing through my entire service, blowing at the dust with her mouth to no avail. My nails were horrible, there were spots along the sides not painted, there was dust and dirt particles under the coats of polish and the work was below average. The adult woman in the shop noticed how bad the work was and tried to fix it by adding more layers of polish and top coat on top of the mess. My nailbed was now thick/ high with layers of polish and I had been under the curing light a questionable amount of times. I don't know if this was their daughter or not, but clearly she should not be handling services that people are shelling out their money for. 3 days later my nails were chipping and my cuticles were peeling backwards, by day 5 there was brittleness and breaking. It has been a month and my nails are still recovering from the mess made and I have to take steps to repair the health of my, once long and beautiful, nails. I've found a professional nail technician to move forward with at another salon. After reading these reviews, I was certain I'd found a good place, but no. I would not recommend this salon to anyone read more

I went here today to get a full set & the service was AMAZING! Very family oriented! Their daughter had done my toes and was wonderful! She did so amazing! And the wife had worked on both mine & my sisters nails at the same time! She fixed my nails from a previous salon messing them up so badly. She made my nails look phenomenal! And my sisters too! Plus all the supplies they use is 100% sterile! They didnt reuse one item! Iam so happy with my nails! I would recommend everyone to come visit this salon! You will not be disappointed! I recently got my nails done here at KC because I saw all the good reviews here on yelp..but the Experience wasn't what I thought it would be..the older guy that was doing my nails (sorry don't know his name) Rushed through the whole thing..I felt so unease because he was clipping my nails so fast I was afraid he was gonna clip my fingers..and on top of that he filed my cuticle down till he filed skin off & it bled..so I now have a ugly scar and lump on my cuticle..he realized it and put alcohol on it which hurt so bad & he didn't even apologize or give me a discount! never coming back here again read more

I had a manicure - shellac/gel on a Saturday, by Thursday it had chipped. Went back to have the nails fixed. Left two other nails chipped. Very disappointing because the color was nice. During the manicure the manicurist paid no attention to my cuticles and left them rough and worst than before. read more

I like this place a lot. Nicely priced for top quality work. However for some reason when Kenny (?) Has done my nails (3 times now) he ends up hurting my cuticles in some fashion with the electric tool sander. I have to speak up or give body language of discomfort before he notices. I'm not sure if it's the shape of my cuticles or maybe I have extra sensitive ones, because it's very obvious that he knows what he is doing and does a fine fine job otherwise. Cindy (?) is an amazingly talented nail artist and won't charge and arm and a leg for a nice designs. read more

Wife was not happy with her husband that day, owners of the place.. She kept rolling her eyes and shaking her head while she did my pedi! My daughter had photos of exactly what she wanted on her manicure. They didn't know how to do it, BUT both husband and wife worked extremely hard to come as close as possible to the photo! I was impressed. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WHEN THE HUSBAND TOLD ME WHAT HE EXPECTED AS A TIP! HE BROKE IT DOWN BY HOW MUCH MY PEDI WAS AND HOW MUCH MY DAUGHTERS NAILS WERE . Because of his rudeness, I will not go back. (By the way, I had planned to tip them both more than what the husband stated). He blew it. read more

All it took was one time & I was hooked!! Both Cindy & Kenny have done my nails & every time I've been 100% satisfied! They pay close attention to detail & don't let you leave until they are happy with their work. I'm known in other salons as the "picky one" that no one wants to do, but because of the beautiful work they do, I NEVER have the need to be picky. Oh did I mention the amazing pedicure they give??? You have to try it to know what I'm talking about! They take the time to study areas of need and give the perfect amount of pressure where needed. They listen to your needs & make sure you leave happy. I want ALL of Chico to come see exactly what I'm talking about. I'm 39 and have been getting my nails done since I was 13 & I promise you that KC Nails is by far the Best salon I've EVER been to. Cleanest, most friendly, sweet, and talented nail salon in Chico! I have been a client of Kenny's for years and have received numerous compliments on my nails.I highly advise you to try this place out! Walk-ins are welcome but It's a small salon so I recommend calling before you go, so you can immediately get in and trust me, you will get in, in the amount of time they tell you unlike some salons where 10 minutes turns into 20. Cindy also gives a super relaxing pedicure. This salon truly cares and they're very particular about their work which I love! read more

I've been here on several occasions now and will definitely be stopping by often. Every visit has been great and I leave happy with the services I receive. I bumped it to 5 stars because a couple weeks ago I stopped by 5 minutes before their closing time, they were actually already out the door and Cindy didn't refuse my business, she took care of me just like in all the other occasions. I really appreciate that gesture and for that I will never go some place else( unless I go to my other home in West Covina) This establishment is very clean, every time I've been here they've used sterilized tools. I'm from SF and I have a favorite place. But while I lived in Chico (for school) I had to find a place. I had been to Queen's nails, the experience was average. I liked the bottled water, but the rest was , eh. I looked on Yelp and found KC nails. I walked in with no appointment and waited about 40 minutes. That was my fault for not making an appointment. The place is clean and well lit. Michael was my technician....he gave me a great leg and foot massage. He did my nails exactly the way I wanted them. Square with slightly rounded edges. He did a really good job. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went to this nail salon with my cousin to get "Disney" nails. My cousin asked for gel nails and showed the man her nail idea. She wanted Peter Pan nails, which were blue, with the silhouettes of Peter and the kids flying behind him. The man said it would be difficult but he could do it. After putting the nail polish on her nails he came up to me and told me that he couldn't do the nails she wanted, and that he wanted ME to pick out a different idea for her. He then told my cousin that he could've done it o.n acrylic nails, but neglected to mention that before already putting on the gel polish. So then she was stuck with this blue nail polish, and there are only so many disney nail ideas that you can do with blue polish. The original nail idea had white clouds surrounding the silhouettes, so the man said he might be able to do the clouds. But his clouds turned out to look like splotches on her blue nails. The next day half of the nails were peeling off because he had glued the polish to her skin instead of her nail. We went back in, hoping to get back her $30 on nails my little sister could've done much better and for much cheaper. The lady told us she could fix them but wouldn't give us a refund. So ....just so all of you know ....THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. My cousin told her that they weren't what she wanted in the first place but the lady refused to redo them or give us a refund. So now my cousins nails look like crap AND her wallet is $30 lighter. read more

This place is pricey!!! I thought it'd be cheaper than San Jose but boy was I wrong. They did a good job don't get me wrong but I like for my nail person to start and finish with me. I went in with some reference images and she ended up foiling the hair and working very thoroughly to get it done. She also did great on the cut and I feel like a new version of myself! There was one part (likely due to how my hair was parted) that I felt like fell a little funny which I noticed the next day, and she's getting me in to fix it so I really appreciate the continued service and accommodation of a request. The pricing also felt more than fair, especially considering the time it took and the amount of hair I have which meant more product was needed. Overall, it was a great experience! Please note this review is not a reflection of the staff, just my personal opinion of the overall experience. The masseuse and esthetician were good however I had a few issues with the location. Located in a business park and very close to a main road right across from a high school. Upon entering the clean waiting room I was greeted and given paperwork to complete. There was a diffuser on, with a pleasant smell however the scent was extremely overwhelming...like hit you in the back of the throat, coughing overwhelming. While I waiting I noted there are two treatment rooms directly off of the waiting room, odd as I've always been to places where the check in/waiting area is separate from any treatment rooms. So close in-fact I could hear another guest talking to her masseuse. I was praying I wouldn't get the other room off the waiting area, but just my luck that was my room. My masseuse was very pleasant and did a good job. I had no issue with the service but the environment was so far from relaxing. Upon entering my room I noticed how bright it was. No overhead light but a lamp on and a large window with sheer drapes which let in a lot of light. This window also received direct sun which made the room very warm on a 100+ degree day. The massage started and I was trying to relax when there was conversation in the waiting room, a man was checking out and speaking very loud, he then excited the spa. There is a literal bell on the door handle which goes off every time someone enter or exits, if that wasn't enough there is an electronic chime that ALSO goes off every time the front door is used. I understand the purpose but it is far from relaxing hearing multiple chimes/bells when the front door is used. The bell/chimes went off multiple times during my service, very distracting. My treatment room shared the front wall of the business which has parking spots a sidewalks length away. I had the joy of hearing every car door open/close, honks from doors being locked and someone's very loud stereo, don't forget the motorcycle rev. The business is close to the road so you hear the traffic going by. I was there on a weekend so the traffic from the high school wasn't bad and most if not all businesses in the business park were closed. I can't imagine how loud it would be during the week. Following my service I was instructed to put on a robe and wait in the waiting area for my next service. I found it uncomfortable siting in my robe in a public waiting area while I held my clothes in my arms. I was then escorted to my next service, I was optimistic as I was taken back into the spa. Just my luck my next room was located with the main wall against the roadway. Thankfully I had a head wrap on and the facial steamer helped mask the sound of the passing traffic. But again, I could still hear the electronic chime every time someone used the from door. My service was good and the esthetician was pleasant and knowledgeable. I booked my appointment the night before and received multiple "reminder" texts the day of which was nice I'm on the fence if I will return or not, if I did it would only be for a facial as the environment is not relaxing for a massage in my opinion. .

KC Nails is a decent option for complete nail care services, pedicures,friendly staff.They are located in the same strip mall as Bridal shop. During a recent visit to Chico, I came here for a pedicure and it really surprised me how good of a job they did! Kenny did a thorough job of cuticle trimming, gave an amazing REFLEXOLOGY foot massage and took his time. Cindy does excellent nails both natural and acrylic glitter tips with gel/gel manicure,you will be suprised how they last. In addition to the classic pink & white, they do just about any color of acrylic you could imagine and can add glitter if you wish. They offer an extensive nail design collection which can be added to any mani/pedi! They offer the OPI,GELISH,CND gel nail color system which is their version of Shellac. It is gel polish that is set with a LED light and lasts over 2 weeks. I love this system since regular nail polish only lasts me a couple days! All instruments are autoclaved between each client and everyone gets new files, buffers and other disposable implements. The salon was clean overall,spa chairs scrubbed with hospital grade disinfectant between each client.I love this place and highly recommend everyone to try them out! Appointments are recommended, especially if you want a certain technician and to avoid waiting, however they do accept walk-ins. Their prices are fair for the quality of their services and they really take good care of clients which i love. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area again! read more

I am giving them 2 stars because the customer service was top notch and they were super nice. I got a gel manicure and a spa pedicure - price was affordable @ $50. After going, I understand why. My tech did not cut my cuticles on my toes or nails, not much of a grooming which is what you call a manicure & pedicure. I practically got a polish change . My gel is super bubbly, has lines, and it just not done correctly. Maybe my tech was new and still learning. Although they were super nice, I feel like I wasted money and I won't be returning. read more

KC Nails is the best nail salon in Chico! They are clean, fast and professional. Tons of gel colors to choose from and they have matte polish as well! Cindy is great at doing any shape you ask for (stiletto, coffin, almond, square, etc.). She will mix gel colors to get the exact shade you ask for! Super nice and very accommodating. My mom, myself, and my 3 year old were treated so well even though they were very busy. They didn't even bat an eyelash at doing my daughters toes and even did her fingers too :) I am 35 weeks pregnant and my mani/pedi was so relaxing. Thumbs up to this business!
