This place recently changed owners. This is my opinion in a nutshell: 1- There are two ladies working there. The owner and one other lady. My oldest daughter has had her nails done for special events by Lisa and I had my face waxed by Ada the other day. It was painless and looked great afterwards. Josephine and Peter (I think his name is Peter) are amazing nail techs. Clean shop, professional staff and they do very high quality work. Even just a basic mani/pedi lasts way longer than any other nail salon in Chico. They have always been kind and courteous, and are never pushy with the up-sells (ie lotion, stones, gels, etc). They even did my nails for my wedding and you could really see that they put in extra time and effort because they knew it was for a special occasion. A few months ago I went in for acrylics and a pedi. .Josephine the owner did an astounding job.I .couldn't have been happier being I moved here from Sac. and had loved my nail lady there... Yesterday, I went in and she has a new gal (Lisa) who is working with her who is super sweet. very chatty .I felt comfortable and I..loved the one and one time (unusual in a nail salon), she took two hours though :/...while I ended up very happy with the end results of my acrylics, I must admit I was a little scared..Id never had someone apply acrylic as she had..basically she is new and still learning her own style and its good she is able to work and continue learn properly...if you want to sit back and relax then give Lisa your nails ...if your crunched on time and want a no fail nail job in a hurry..ask to see Josephine! read more

The only reason I went to this salon was the high reviews on yelp and I've never left a review on yelp before but I don't want someone to make the same mistake I did! Number one all of the great reviews are for a nail technician that is no longer working there! Number two they have no idea how to do any designs or nail art at all I mean my niece could have done a better job and she wouldn't have changed sixty bucks for a set of regular gel polish and a flower on two nails! Three it took them over two and a half hours to have my nails look like crap. Then when I tried to pay I had to leave to get change because they didn't have it. Also the biggest pet peve I have is they didn't do my gels right at all, there was bubbles and cracks and it was clumpy, it was a disaster! I felt so bad because the owners wife who is the one with the great reviews has breastcancer so I just didn't say anything and left but I really do have to say something so other people don't go thru what I did and have your nails completely distroyed. My nails were long and pretty and now there short and gross. I do feel really bad for the owner but I mean if you don't no what your doing then maybe hire someone who does. I love this place! I had to wait until I'd been there a few times to write a review, just to make sure they are consistently great, and they are! I love Josephine, she's wonderful. She is personable, knowledgeable, fast, and the quality of the work she does is phenomenal. For my last fill I waited 3 weeks and then had them filled, but they never chipped, broke, cracked, lifted, nothing - and they were really grown out. My advice...Do not go there! My regular nail place/tech was busy and I needed a walk-in job ASAP, so I went in to Dazzling Nails for a full set of acrylics - french tip. The guy looked like he had just been in a fight or something.The backs of his hands were all scratched and scabbed over and his right hand was swollen. When finished, my nails were a thick, bumpy, uneven mess. I went to my regular nail place 3 days later to try to have them fixed as they were pulling up on the sides, and starting to turn yellow. My regular nail tech told me that my nails were not acrylic - but in fact they were fiberglass, and apparently no UV top coat was used. What??? Is this place even licensed? Has this dude even been to school? Save your $35.00 and go somewhere else. This place is a rip-off!!! read more

First time my gel polish chipped in 4 days. Second time 3 days in and the gel polish ( a very light color) is discolored at the ends and my nails look just gross and dirty. At day 5 they are chipping. They looked gross so I just clipped them short. Ugh my search continues.... read more

Just walked in at 4:50 on a Friday. No other customers there. She says, how can I help you? I ask for shellac to be removed and redone. She says, I'm sorry we're closing in 5 minutes. I look twice at the sign which says 10-6 PM. NOT 5 PM. she has some excuse about her childcare ending. Sure I get that, but don't advertise both online and on your door that you close at 6 if you really close at 5. No offer for a discount to come back or anything. Definitely won't be going there again. Plenty of other nail salons in Chico. Besides it was disgustingly stinky in there. You'd probably develop cancer after your manicure. read more

I was looking for a place to get a great manicure. I HATE most nail places because of the usual language barrier. I saw a good review for Dazzling Nails, and gave it a try. GREAT idea! It's a tiny shop, owned by a woman and her husband, they both do nails. She was so nice and professional, and yes spoke perfect english. Considering her degrees from Chico state, she probably could have taught me a thing or two. They don't overbook themselves or tell every walk in to come in.
