Filed my fingers bloody, when I went back to get a nail fixed he tried to cut my real nail after I said I wanted to just replaced the gel x on top that was cracked, after they "fixed" the nail I saw he went underneath and filed off my natural nail underneath and now it's cracked in half (for the third time) and I have no nail left underneath anymore so I can't remove the gel x that is cracked in half and SUPER PAINFUL
This is it. This is THE nail salon to go to in Chico! I had my first experience at Meriam Eco Nail Spa last Friday, and will be returning regularly. The salon is clean, bright, modern, and well staffed. I arrived to my Friday 9am appt for a gel mani & gel pedi and was seated immediately with Tom. By 10am, the salon was bustling and almost every pedi chair was full. Always a good sign! The prices are very fair and clearly outlined in their menu books. Complimentary beverages are offered, and good music played. I can't wait for my next mani in two weeks!
I went to this nail spa for a pedicure + full set acrylics. Pedicure was fine honesty and was maybe 30 minutes which was to be expected. But my nails took 2.5 hours to do which was kind of ridiculous! The nails turned out fine but he cut my cuticles and did not apologize when I bled. He spent so long on the smallest little things which was fine but charged me more for it in the end. My design was not that complicated but he argued with the lady charging me on a different language to tell her to increase the price. $100 is not normal for a manicure. I've had more complicated sets done for $65. Did not plan on coming to spend $150 on a mani/pedi (pedicure was $28 but with tax and minimum tip it was somehow another $30)
Staff was nice, but that isn't why I go to a nail salon. My pedicure was so bad, the gentleman doing it looked and seemed distracted the whole time. I paid $15 extra for gel and he didn't even do the top clear coat. The other gentleman that did my nails, did them in a way to where it looks like my nails are pointing upward it looks unnatural and weird. When I asked him to file them a little more round he was rude and his demeanor was very rude and angsty, like he was already annoyed by the time I got to his chair If you're looking for quality please go elsewhere, otherwise you'll end up paying $90 for a full set and pedicure that looks terrible! The picture attached is not even 24 hours after, it looks like there's a ton of growth, and the thumb nail looks flat. Never coming back.
I was treated so well here, it was my first time in, the receptionist and my nail tech Peter made sure I got exactly what was requested. They even suggested a set of gel-x nails instead of acrylic after listening to my needs. Needless to say I am very satisfied with my new set
Myself and my mom went to have a nice girls day. When we arrived we felt extremely rushed and were not given much time to decide on colors and not really consulted on what type of nail we would like. There was visible nail dust on the chair and the tray attached to it, which I worrisome considering we went right when they opened so everything should have been *theoretically* clean. The nail techs that did both our pedicures were both quite nice. As was the gentleman who did my manicure. However it was quite awkward to have to reach my hand across my body to the left where the nail tech was to have my nails done. I've been to quite a few nail salons and I've never had my manicure and pedicure done at the same time. I had decided on the basic gel manicure, and though the color is pretty I am pretty disheartened by how translucent the polish is and that I can still see my nail bed beneath the polish. My mom decided to get her nails done in a different manner and as she is an emergency first responder, she thought it'd be nice to commemorate the fallen firefighters during the month of September. She even brought in her own "never forgotten" nail decals and wanted someone to put them on professionally. Her nail tech told her it would look bad and he repeatedly tried to dissuade her from applying them and disregarded her when she said they have significant meaning to her. Stating to her that he didn't understand why it mattered so much to her. It literally took her and myself to tell the guy that this is her choice and that she just wanted them applied. I even assisted with reading the application instructions and he kept ignoring what I was saying. He didn't use tweezers to place them and just carelessly slapped them on her nail, so they ended up sideways and super crooked. It's bad enough to have someone make you feel bad for a personal choice, but to completely disregard and make someone feel bad over wanting to commemorate fallen firefighters and first responders is beyond crappy behavior.
When they first opened it was nice, clean, and worth the money. Today my sister and I went for pedicures and I got the most expensive pedicure. It was awful, they were using various lotions, gels, etc, no scent was consistent. Mia didn't trim my nails, she literally burned me with the hot stone that she used less than a minute on both of my legs, she only covered the hot wax on half of my foot, didn't tie the bag so it got cold and kept falling off. For an $88 dollar pedicure I would expect way better. Never again will I return.
I have been getting my nails done here since right after they opened and they have never disappointed! This is the first salon around here I have found that can do things like marble, ombré, 3D art, charms, etc. highly recommended!
I went with my daughter to get manicures and pedicure. it was 277.00 and spent about 45 minutes rushing to get finished. I never really received a manicure it was just my nails getting done with gel. He never cleaned out under my nails and he did not remove the old polish. It was quite apparent that he did not want to be there and had no pride in the work he did. I will not be back. furthermore, he used the UV light to long and burned my nail bed. I question if they all are actually licensed to do nails.
The shop is in my neighborhood so I really really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, I got the ugliest, most painful set of nails ever. From being screamed at before I even got started to getting a nail tech who had no idea what square - round means, Leaving the shop with my brand new full set of acrylics that barely cover the tips of my fingers, bruising around all of my nail beds, gel polish that's already chipped, flat nail beds horribly shaped nails I can truly say this was the worst experience I have ever had. I made an appointment and when I showed up for it, they said I didn't. I could clearly see my name and phone number and showed them where it was on the book. They told me to wait and after about 15 minutes last my appointment they sat me with someone. I was asked at least 5 times if I made an appointment, and told twice that I didn't. Weird. But it gets worse. After several minutes, one of the women came and asked me, again, if I made an appointment for a new full set. I said yes. Then she asked me what I wanted. She was extremely irritable and I told her again I wanted a full set. She said something I could not understand. She was talking fast, had a heavy accent and was wearing a mask. I asked her what she said and she did it again. I told her I didn't know what she was saying. She made an exasperated sound, rolled her eyes, moved in close and screamed at me. It was so startling that I jumped back and several other customers started laughing. I should have gotten up and walked out. I did not. They clearly don't practice social distance and sat another client less than a foot away in the adjoining station. I could go on and on about the experience I had here but suffice it to say that my nails are barely covering the tips of my fingers, as they kept scrubbing and scrubbing at them with the file trying to shape them in a "square round" shape that I asked for. I won't bore you with more details but just say that my finger tips are aching and bruised around the beds. The nails are crooked and the tops are mostly flat. The gel is a mess and overall they look terrible. I paid for new, long nails. I got nails that barely cover the end of my fingers, bruises, got screamed at and it cost me $43 for the pleasure. I cannot recommend and I wish I had refused to pay for this mess. I need my hands to recover before I can go elsewhere.

This was my first and last visit at Miriam Eco Nails. I made my appointment with one person and for whatever ever reason they did not provide the service. Worst pedicure ever. The person who did my pedicure didn't even talk or offer me a beverage. It was an awful experience to say the least. read more

Waste of money honestly.. came with a friend we got the exact same thing and my nails came out worse than when I went in. No cuticles cut, no foot scrub and honestly left more ashier than I came in. She had a great nail tech but the inconsistenty is enough to not go back. I'll definitely just spend the extra to go elsewhere. read more

I have gone a few times and have only been disappointed once. I went again today and I absolutely love my nails! The best set I have ever gotten. I explained that my last set was not great (they were awful) and they gave me a discount and a coupon. I am very impressed with a few of the nail techs. Some are definitely better then others. But overall I would recommend! read more

I have gone to Meriam every time we have a girls day and gotten pedis. It is a beautiful place and everyone there is so nice. Today I decided that I wanted to get a full set of nails because I have some parties coming up and mine were a disaster! Tony, who also did my pedi, did them for me. It was amazing to watch him work and I am beyond excited about how they turned out! Have I mentioned what a nice guy he is?! Thank you Tony!!!! You made my day! read more

I've been here a couple of times and they used to be so nice but they completely messed up my design. I got a guy and i've had him once before but today he was really pushy and seemed to be in a bad mood. he yanked my arm because i was "too stiff". the first picture is my reference picture and the second is what i got. i wouldnt even consider those french TIPS. the girl who did the hearts was very nice, no problem with her. I paid $73 for THIS. $63 for him and $10 for her. ridiculous. Will not be returning. i've had almost the exact same design just different color in the past with the same guy and i paid approximately $55. this is not worth $73. read more

My nine-year-old niece and I had a wonderful experience during our first visit to Meriam Nails. We walked in on Valentines Day with no appointments. While I was fully prepared to wait or be told to come back, Tommy was able to squeeze us in and set us up right away. I had a pedicure while my niece just had her toenails polished. Both Tommy and Viet were very attentive and made us feel welcome. Tommy gave my niece a huge pillow so she could lean back in the chair comfortably. They both worked quickly and did a quality job on our nails. I really appreciated the extra care they gave to my niece. She was excited to have her nails painted and loved the beautiful decor in the salon. They did not charge for her service, which was thoughtful but unnecessary, as I felt that our experience was no less than perfect. Viet also took our picture in front of the flower wall. This was a very special day for us. We look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in town. read more

Very nice simple french manicure. I got a Gel X manicure because this was one of the only places I could find in chico that did them, and it's pretty good. One nail is a bit crooked, and another isn't filed in a straight line on top (both are close up in photos), but generally not noticeable defects. I don't love the clear gaps with the french tips because the nail forms are completely clear, but not too bad. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Extremely rude! So rude that I felt the need to come on here and right a review. Yesterday I called to make an appointment to fix 1 nail that had broken the day I got it. When I showed up this morning for my nail appointment I had to wait to be seated even though there was only one other person before me. I was then told that I would have been better for me to come in later in the day around 6pm, even thought I called yesterday and told them I was fine to come in whenever I just needed it to be earlier because I had stuff to do in the afternoon. This was after she already started shaving my nails and soaking it off. So I got worried she wasn't going to finish my nail. Then I get told my the nail lady that I need to be careful with my long nail. I go to explain my bf I accidentally slammed the door on my nails when he wasn't paying attention. She proceeds to explain to me that if I continue to slam doors I'm going to lose my boyfriend and then proceeds to tell me about how her husbands ex slammed door and he left her because she scared him. And started telling me how I should argue with my bf and started giving me unsolicited relationship advice. She then asked who did my original nail, to which I reply she did and she starts to argue with me. Eventually she remembers that she did in fact do my nails and then starts to fix it. She rushed my nail and has to start over but as she wiping away the failed acrylic powder from the top of my nail it gets all underneath it. I let all this go thinking she'll eventually fix that. Then when it come time to find the color I had she starts arguing with me again until she eventually went and got the nail color books. I showed he my color to which she reply that it couldn't be the color because it was to light on my nail. This was something I noticed when I originally went to get my nails done there. When I originally went I had made an appointment for a fill, I had to wait to get seated and then when I did get seated this same lady rushed my nails and they didn't look the best. The color was unevenly applied and not the color it showed in the book. I informed her that I knew that it looked lighter and it was that color but she did apply enough coats the first time, to which she argued back a little then she magically came to that conclusion herself and tried to explain to me that it was my color. After I had been saying that the whole time. When it was time for me to go wash my nails she switched me over to a different lady while she took a different customer and was way nicer to. This new lady took a while to finish painting my one nail because she started talking to other nail techs there. When I was done they didn't apply any oil, left my skin around the nail all dry, it had the acrylic powder she wiped off all underneath the nail and on my skin. Then the nail lady who finished my nails had the audacity to tell me to stop fighting with my bf and not to slam my nails in the door. The fact that that's not what happened at all. The whole time they were rude about that and wouldn't listen to me when I was trying to explain that's not what's happened. Then for this new lady who just walked it to mention it was just ridiculous. The fact that you can make an appointment and get rushed out of there when you go is also ridiculous. Don't book people to come in if you don't have enough nail techs. This whole experience was horrible and the only reason I went back after the first time was because I had broke them nail and it would be free to go back there and fix it. read more
