Don't get it wrong they do great nails but don't even bother making an appointment they don't care it's always first come first serve. It's annoying even after getting sat down they started my nails and went to THREE other girls who came in after me to start theirs? Weird... again they do great work but they don't honor appointments and don't do your set they start and then come back. I came in for a full set took 3 plus house. Did not have the best experience here. I went in yesterday to get a fill and the guy who did it just slapped so much acrylic on my nails, they were super thick. By the time I realized this I couldn't have him fix it because I was going to be late for work and he was rushing to do someone pedicure so I figured I would come in today to get them fixed. I didn't catch my techs name but she did a great job on my manicure. My cuticles and polish are perfect! I really wanted a pedicure but I hesitated because I didn't see a little blue paper autoclave envelope anywhere so I was nervous as to how they sterilize their equipment, or if they even do. She just pulled the manicure equipment off her tray. If the equipment is autoclaved the envelope should always be opened in front of you. I really don't wanna pick up toenail fungus bc it's nearly impossible to get rid of so it wasn't worth the risk for me. The smell was also strong enough to give me a slight headache while I was here. I waited 2 hours for him to finally see me to just ignore my concerns about using a fake nail to go underneath the acrylics and rip them off because it damages my nails and hurts when they do that style of taking off nails. He promised this way is best and it doesn't hurt which was a lie. I was very upset when I left, it hurt a lot and damaged my nails underneath. I recently moved to Chico and definitely was in need of some self care , arriving to this location which is a corner lot made it easy to find . I walked in and was greeted immediately with pure kindness, it was definitely a vibe , they played a soft jazz station which had me relaxed while getting my pedicure, The owner did my nails which wow double wow, I showed the photos of what I wanted and she did it better lol than my photos I showed her , she was funny , sweet , listened to my vision . Let me start off by saying I have only had one experience, so take that as you will. However, after my one experience I will not ever spend my time or money there again when I know other much better places exist. I got a gift card to Skylab, so even though I don't usually go there I thought I'd check it out. From start to finish I had a terrible experience. I felt like I was the biggest inconvenience and that I was like their enemy for just existing. To make an appointment here they ask you to text them. Below I have attached the conversation I had which the last text you see is the last message of the conversation I never received anything else. I wanted to clarify prices because it didn't say for regular nails or acrylic and that's how I was treated. So I decided not to hold that one conversation against them and a few days later I called to make an appointment rather than texting again, once again not a great conversation but not as bad as the first time. Then I arrive at my appointment and the rude attitude and general vibe they're not happy continues. They point in a general area of all their chairs where I should sit and when I sat in the wrong one they got upset and pointed to the general area again and when I asked to confirm which seat there was a sigh so I just guessed and sat down. The entire appointment was silent and it's not their job to entertain me however I do like to engage when someone is doing something like this for me. Finally the appointment concludes and she got nail polish on my finger looked at and touched it briefly then left it. My actual nails looked fine but after 5 days begin falling off. I got my nails done here on Sunday 10/15/23 & I already have bubbling and peeling on multiple nails. The place was not clean. At all . I was shocked since it's so new . I called earlier in the day to make an appointment. I spoke to someone and they said I should come in at 3 pm . I got there a few minute before 3 and it seemed like I wasn't in the books . I was seated about 10 min after . They had one nail technician working on 3 people at once and had a woman that was waiting before me next to me , she wasn't helped until I was done ! They just had a bunch of people sitting in chairs . The gel manicure service was 30 min long, as you can see it was not quality as I am already seeing signs of bubbling . I brought my sister in for a pedicure before her wedding this weekend and we've never been to SkyLab. I called ahead to schedule the appointments because everywhere in Medford Or, didn't accept walk ins, this place does tho! We were greeted so warmly, the gentleman who sat us was so nice to us. The lady who did my pedicure was also so sweet, there was a language barrier, but if you're a decent human being it's nothing to stress over. Never, not once did they make us feel terrible about getting our pedicures. My toes haven't felt this great in years! 10/10 I would recommend this place. The sweet lady even offered us drinks while we were getting our pedis and candy while we checked out. Simple acts of kindness/service go a long way and this salon has mastered them. read more

The people who work here are very welcoming, they make the effort to remember your name and things about you that you previously told them, they offer drinks here (including wine) which is so nice, and the nails themselves are awesome. Their artistry shown through design requests is really good as well compared to other salons in the area. They have every color you can think of for acrylic powders, dips, and polishes. They even stay in the salon finishing customers nails over an hour after closing. The best nail salon in Chico!!! Been living here for 4 years and have tried every salon within 5 miles of downtown and this one is THE BEST! I am genuinely mad I found out about this place only now. Here's why they're the best: 1. Quality - I get acrylics and everywhere else I've tried makes them thick, uneven, or misshaped. I was so happy after my first appointment when my acrylics were thin, but strong, perfectly shaped, and lasted 6 weeks before my next fill with NO LIFTING. 2. Customer Service - The guy (I believe the owner) who runs it is incredibly nice and you know he's going to take care of you without kissing your ass. I have never had to wait additional time when I make an appointment, a trend at every other salon sometimes 30+ minutes after my appointment. He always starts a genuine conversation and offers a beverage including wine, beer, soda, water, etc. Not only are they consistent and reliable, they also have a reward system where you can put in your phone number and build up points too. A part of me wants to gatekeep how incredible this salon is so it doesn't get booked out, but I have to share so their business can grow and thrive like they deserve to. This is my second trip in and think this will be my new go-to spot. They're in a convenient location for me and are always insistent on getting me what I want. I think I've had nail tech Lily on both of my visits and I highly recommend. My nails took a little while but Lily was very careful and extremely gentle with my nails while caring for them both times. The wait can sometimes be a while as they have been packed both times I've visited but I think the wait is worth both the level of care and attention to my nails. I went here two weeks after they opened it was great the wife and husband we're amazing and personable. They were talkative and accommodated and wanted to make my nails perfect. It was busy and they still took the time to make my nails great. They lasted forever I loved it so much I went back. However the 2nd time they got two more staff memebers and I got the new lady, she was so rude she didn't listen to what I wanted just did her own thing. Wouldn't talk to me the whole time rolling her eyes I was so mad. When she would try and ask me a question about my nails I would Say what politely and she would rudely say "never mind" I was like excuse me. My nails took like 40 min If that and it shows, two days later one of my nails was coming off I get my hair caught in it all the time. I want to give them a second chance because my first visit with the owners was the best. So it's a bummer. read more
