I just moved to Chico a couple months ago and it has been hard to find a good nail salon. I have been to a couple different places and Skylab Nails & Spa is the best! They are so nice and welcoming. I love how my nails turned out!! And because I'm a Chico state student they gave me a discount! I would 100% recommend for anyone looking to get their nails done to go there. I will for sure be returning to get my nails done there again! read more

The workers here are so kind and good at what they do! Carter (the owner) by far is so funny and takes his time doing your nails to make sure they come out exactly how you want them. I definitely coming here to get your nails done! read more

Let's just say that I love Lisa ! She's the best nail tech in Chico hands down ! Her flexibility and hard work ethic never goes unnoticed. I have been with her for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier . It's one thing to do nails but it's a different story when you actually love what you do and her and Dennis both are very genuine human beings . I'm very happy that they opened their own nail salon, they deserve all the success that comes their way ! Thank you for always working hard , and blessing my nails ! read more

Very beautiful shop. Everything so bright and clean and shiny. The people there are so nice! This is where my mom and I will get our pedicures from now on read more

worse nail place! i waited three hours to get my nail done, i just wanted dip nails. I made an appointment at 12:30 and didn't leave until 3:30. they say they only take appointments, BIGGEST LIE EVER. They took people who didn't have appointments before me. Plus I showed them a picture of what I wanted and it was nothing like it. Also the design came off in one day, so i had to go back to get it fixed then two days later it came off again! Carter said the design was supposed to last two weeks. never going back here again!!! read more

If I could give them 0 starts I would. I just walked out of there with the ugliest nails. They're so messy and I was cut multiple times. The lady who did my nails tried putting nail glue on my cuts to make it stop bleeding! read more

I really really enjoy getting my nails done at Skylab, usually I come in and whatever I request they give me that and more, but more recently they have hired new nail artists. I genuinely love getting my nails done by either Dennis, Lisa, or their niece because they are absolutely amazing, but the other guy is horrible. He rushed the whole process and left me with a different shape than I asked for and polish all over the sides of my nails. It just looks super sloppy. Genuinely recommend this place for the great atmosphere and clean sanitary space, but just make sure you only get your nails done by either Dennis, Lisa, or their niece. read more

I had the most wonderful experience with my fiancé here. The owner was extremely professional, and far exceeded my expectations. The place as a whole is very clean. Not only was the service exceptional, but the conversation was a lot of fun as well :) I can't wait to come back. read more

Skylab Nails & Spa - Nail Salons Near Me - Chico, California

I'm giving four stars because they do a nice fill. I like the owners and they are friendly and welcoming. I've been pleased with my nails. This salon is very busy. It's located near CSUC and within walking distance of student housing. They are killing it with the college crowd. Call ahead for an appointment rather than depend on walk-in availability. I've done both and it's usually not possible to do a walk-in. Now the bad stuff: pedicures. They are so sub-par. I've had two. The same tech did them both times. No issue with cleanliness or considerate staff, but the pedicure itself is just a complete disappointment. I left with rough feet and sloppy results. The massage is a total skip. Don't pay for it. She barely glides over your legs and feet. It's faux reiki for your feet. Just get the soak and polish because the other stuff is not going to happen. I hope they decide to work with their staff to provide better pedicure experiences. read more

I paid $55 for a full set with french tip and was in and out in less than an hour! Very kind people and fair prices. Employees offered snacks and beverages and did an excellent job. read more

Skylab Nails & Spa - Acrylic Full Set, French Tip $55 - Nail Salons Near Me - Chico, California

I wish this was my place because the shop is clean and the reviews are pretty good. However, I called to make an appointment on my birthday, and was told we could come in at 4. We got there right at 4, and was not spoken to (or looked at) until about 420. At that point, I told the guy to just be honest and tell us if they couldn't fit us in. He apologized and said there was no way he could get to us, but he would happily give me "10% off if I came back. 30 minutes wasted on my birthday.... but whatever. I came back the next day and was seated right away. I asked about their prices and he said a full set goes from 45-65. I asked what made it more expensive and he said it "just depends on what you get". So, I went for one simple color trying to keep costs down. When I was done... I was told my nails were 55. It was almost like he made up the price just because I had a discount? Either way, 50 (which is what he charged me for the set) still seemed a bit steep for a new set, especially since he couldn't tell me what a 45 dollar set looked like. Unfortunately, my nails came off within a week of getting them. I even explained that I had oily nails and that it worked better with some extra bond, but that was not done. Either way, the shop is cute and clean, but with the lack of posted prices, not being able to fit us in for an appointment on my birthday, and my nails coming off within a week, I will not be coming back. I feel like my 10% discount was just to get me back in the door, but I was charged more than I would have been without the "discount"... read more

I had an appointment set and STILL had to wait an hour to be helped (only stayed bc a lady stopped me from walking out) Pedicure was fine but the lady doing my nails was watching a video on her phone the entire time and would stop doing my nails to glance at her phone and would also stop helping me to help two other ppl at the same time??? By the end of it I had been at the salon for 3.5 HOURS and the price was well above 110. The design is cute but once leaving noticed they were still THICK and CURVED like old lady nails and my fingers were in pain for the rest of the day (never experienced that before). read more

every time I come here they glue my nails on crooked and never shape them well. Also the lengths never match on both hands. They are nice but don't take their time and do well. There are better places to go in chico for sure. read more

I gave it a 2nd chance hoping it would be a 5 star review this time. I was told if I didn't like it, to come back but don't write a bad review if something was wrong. That made me feel uncomfortable and expect something to go wrong. They have gotten worse since opening. The place is not as clean anymore. The guy who did my nails tried to jam his sharp fingernails in between the glue stuck between my nails and skin. He hurt me multiple times. He also cured the gel onto my skin instead of cleaning it off first. The manicure started lifting within a few days. Not worth the price or pain. read more

Honestly I was highly disappointed in this place, the guy who did my nails, Leo? Kept throwing my arms around like a rag doll and telling me to relax when I literally wasn't doing anything.. put on the nail extenders on Crocked not checking if they're straight, he was rough, my nails are lumpy and uneven and I had such high hopes for this place after hearing good things I sadly have to say I don't recommend going here. My thumb nail is just so horribly shaped and lumpy. I'm gonna keep them on since from far away they're not that bad aside from the thumb nail but I probably won't be going back. They also tried to talk the girl that came in after me into getting dip nails even though she just wanted hers removed and almost wouldn't let her say no, and then they proceeded to remove the gel off her nails very jankily, not using the proper removal process at all which pretty much beets the reason for her going there to pay to have them removed. Seemed very inconvenienced by customers. First time and my last time coming here. read more

Always fantastic service - and they even did a free color change for me when I decided I didn't like what I chose once I got home! Gotta say this place is different, but they did an amazing job on my nails. I haven't posted the review because I wanted to see how they held up after my vacation. They are still shiny and look great. The only thing that bothered me a little was the work stations could have been cleaner and they were definitely over booked....yes I will be going back. read more

This is my first time coming to SkyLab Nails & Spa and I was very disappointed. The guy at the cash register was very blunt and had a terrible bedside manner. I was then asked to be seated at table #4. The lady was nice however, I had to continue to ask to make all my nails even and matched with my other nails on my right hand. When she was using the nail tools, she nicked both of my fingers on my left hand; my ring finger and middle finger, twice. When she was finished with my nails, I noticed the lotion she used on my hands smelled. Also I noticed that there was some nail polish at the tip of my finger, dried and not cleaned up properly. I would not refer anyone to go to this nail place. read more

I absolutely love this place everyone is so nice, there gentle with your hands and especially when there using their powered tools (I have no idea what their called). I have to say that the set they did for me was one of my top 10 favorites, the lady did it exactly like the picture. I'm definitely making this place my go to spot for nails now on!! read more

Does a good job and fixes any wrong thing on your nail for free! Recommend everyone to come here

The guy that did my nails took a break in between doing them and made me wait three hours for it to be done. I was told on the phone that everything I was going to get done would be $45, but in person they made me pay $75 for my nails to be done. Not only that, the person cut into my skin with the clippers and made my finger bleed. After that he blamed it on my cuticles being dry. Overall, a very rude and upsetting experience. I'll never go back there again. read more

This place is very nice and clean and the people and service are great. Thank you SkyLab Nails.

found this place when they first opened, service has always been a 10/10! any design you want they can do!

I've been coming to Skylab for about 10 months now. When it was just Lisa and Dennis, I usually walked out happy, but it took forever because they would take on too many customers and tag team the job. Now, they have more people and get you in faster, but you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes Vy does a great job, other times, her work is sloppy and the nails come out too thick. Now they have a new guy, Steven, and his work was awful. It's like he'd never worked with acrylic before. He kept oversaturating the acrylic powder with monomer, and it was just sliding off, so he'd add more and more and more! He was flooding my cuticles and the edges of my nail beds with acrylic, then fighting to get it to stay on the nail. When he was done, each nail had enough acrylic on it for 3 full sets of nails! At one point, he'd finished my right hand and I had to point out while he was working on my left that my right thumbnail was sliding off the side of my thumb because it was so wet! They are so thick I look like I have clubbed nails. It's NOT attractive. I thought maybe he'd file down some of the thickness, so I didn't say anything, but he didn't, just left them that way. They are unevenly shaped, lumpy, thick, and just look awful. This is the first time I've walked out truly unhappy with the work, though a couple of other times I've been a bit disappointed in what they did. I feel like I need to find somewhere else to go, because the quality of the work is just too inconsistent now, and I can't pay $65 every time for mediocre work. Please someone teach Steven how much monomer to use so it doesn't become an unmoldable liquid! read more

Hands down best nail shop in Chíco! I get the dip powder and it last over a month. Dennis and his partner Lisa are skilled and knowledgeable about nails and the best application processes. It's a fun and friendly environment and most importantly a clean and organized shop. They take care of their customers by offering drinks and really getting to know you. I consider them friends now and recommend them to everyone! read more

I have used a number of local nail salons, with varying degrees of satisfaction. A friend recommended Skylab Nails, and I could not have been happier with my pedicure. Lisa, my technician, was amazing, and she gave me the most amazing foot massage I have ever experienced. The entire experience was a 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this establishment. read more

The nail techs at Skylabs are very talented. Lisa does a fantastic job. If you have time to waste this is a great place to go. Even with an appointment you end up waiting for a tech for a very long time. I went to this place 5 times, each time hoping that their time management had improved but it didn't. Even with an appointment it takes at least 2 hours to get a fill. They only have 3 techs, they are super busy and double book...and take walk ins! I won't go back. Yesterday I drove half an hour for my appointment only to be told it was a two hour wait because they had clients that had already been waiting an hour ahead of me!!!! read more

I had heard very good things about this relatively new nail place. I made an appointment for a full-set. If you are looking for a salon with pride-of-workmanship and attention-to-detail, this is not the place. A full set with clear gel was 40 minutes - very rushed - and no one was waiting. The nail technician was borderline rude - swatting my hand away several times. I'm not sure how the acrylic will fare since her application technique was pretty gloppy. I wanted my nails nicely shaped but she just couldn't be bothered. Basically, I was left with the impression that customer service is not something they value at this salon. I will spend my nail dollars elsewhere. read more
