I visited the salon as a walk-in customer, hoping for a pleasant experience while getting my nails done. However, I was taken aback by the staff's demeanor; they carried themselves in a manner that I found quite disrespectful. As I sat there, they were conversing in a language I couldn't understand, which made me feel uncomfortable. I politely requested that they speak in English while I was getting my nails done, but my request seemed to be ignored. Overall, my experience was incredibly disappointing, and I would advise others to think twice before choosing their services, especially if you value being treated with respect. It felt as if they were being sassy and dismissive, as if I were invisible. The atmosphere was far from welcoming, and their attitude left much to be desired. Furthermore, the entire experience was overshadowed by some unpleasant scents that distracted from the ambiance of the salon. It was not very pleasant to be surrounded by the strong smell of fish, butter, and an overall uncleanliness that detracted from what should have been a relaxing service. The staff's unprofessional behavior reminded me of childish banter often seen in school playgrounds, where girls tease each other in harsh ways, making unkind remarks. It's disheartening that this kind of treatment persists, as it fosters a negative environment rather than a welcoming one. I hope they reconsider their approach to customer service, as everyone deserves to feel valued and respected when they seek out self-care. read more

If you're like me, finding a new nail place is never easy. I have only had 1 other nail person do my nails after having had the same woman do my nails for almost 18 years. So I did my homework by reading reviews on Google & Yelp. And I have to say, I found my new nail salon with Skylab Nails! I came here 2 days before my birthday at the beginning of August to get a full set and a pedicure, and it was a great experience! It's a salon run by a husband & wife team who were friendly and welcoming. I was extremely pleased not just with my new set of nails and my pedicure, but with my overall experience. I felt relaxed and not rushed, which made my time there more enjoyable. On top of all that, the sign of nails done right are nails that don't lift and still look good weeks later. As you can see from the pictures, my nails look good almost 4 weeks after I got them done. (FYI, I did that intentionally. I do this when I get my nails done at a new salon for the first time. I do it as a test to see how long the nails last and how long the polish.) So if you're looking for a new nail salon that has good service and quality, I highly recommend Skylab Nail Salon! read more

I want to say that there is no where else even in CA that I would go for my nails. I have known the owners for a long time and this salon has come a long way. The review that came from Kaimuki T ( Or should I say Karina K Vanzandt) is fraud. You might want to stop changing your name it's makes you look like some real fraud!!!! You should only write a review AFTER you have been somewhere not just because you don't like someone that is involved with the Nail Salon. Due to the fact that you have never been to the salon makes your YELP review FRAUD! The Staff of Skylab Nails & Spa all work very hard and always do a great job. Every time I have been in there all the customers are completely satisfied. They were able to open and operate in the deep part of a pandemic. They continue to grow and still provide excellent service. I will say their prices are some good prices compared to majority of chico. SOOO Before you write a YELP review make sure you have been there and received services from the salon! To the owners keep doing what you are doing because you are doing an excellent job!!! read more

I LOVED my acrylics!! I came here before going to a wedding (like right before, bad timing on my part) and I was really stressed out and the nice woman doing my nails was really nice conversation. I brought a reference picture with me and she had me text it to her and the final nails were super similar to the picture! I was so pleased!! I highly recommend scheduling an appointment. This salon does offer walk-ins however they are a bit short-staffed right now so when people walk in they end up waiting a long time. That can stress out the owners and the guests. As for the salon itself, it's really nice!! Super spacious and very clean. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I will first start by saying... my nails are always amazing and long lasting!! The shop is beautiful, the owners even more amazing and pay attention to detail. I recently saw a negative review (hate to go into detail to give this girl, not woman, attention; but... I could not imagine this shop saying ill words to a customer). They will always do what is right. This nail shop takes pride in the environment, their customers, and their work. If you are unhappy, they will fix it!!! I love this shop and have had my nails done by them for YEARS. If you have something negative to say, tell them!! They will fix it. read more

BEST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! By far best in Chico and overall best I have ever been to in my life. Owners are super nice and social. I genuinely felt like they cared about my experience unlike other places in town. You can have complimentary soda water or alcohol while getting your nails done. Very bougie, they went out of their way to make sure my friend and I were comfortable. On top of the amazing customer service, they did a beautiful job with my nails! I'm super happy they opened and will now be a regular customer. Would recommend to ANYONE!! read more

This place has the best service I've received from any nail salon in Chico. They are extremely friendly and talkative. They always make sure you get exactly what you want and are willing to fix anything anytime, like if you chip something a day later. They really go above and beyond. However, their sets last a long time and always look awesome! They have a lot of options for sets and pedicures. It is owned by a couple and they work really hard, give them some love :)! read more

This nail salon deserves the best.. I came in after reading some Yelp reviews & found out that the latest reviews regarding the employees was dealt with by Dennis & his wife (the owners) They no longer work at this location anymore. I would highly recommend giving them a try / another chance & you will be very happy at doing so. The husband and wife duo are very tech savvy & are willing to go above & beyond for their customers' satisfaction. read more

If you're looking for a nail spot in Chico, this is definitely the place. I made an appointment the day before to do dip on my nails and came in the next day. Dennis was the one that did my nails and I loved them. They have a variety of colors to choose from and made me feel taken care of. Throughout he continuously checked in with me to make sure I liked the style of my nails. I can't wait to go back for my next nail appointment. read more

I took my sister and my mom to get a manicure and pedicure this past week, and the customer service at SkyLab was wonderful. The owner, Carter, took care of us and offered us wine and chatted with us throughout. 5 stars for customer service. However, Carter, our nails and toes do not match! Even though the color selected was supposed to be the same, the shades are most definitely different. This would not deter me from returning. read more

I have gone here many times and love the results! If you are wondering if you should go here stop questioning and just go but ask for the owners to do your nails. They have good prices with great quality and give student discounts. I won't go anywhere else to get my nails done. Give them a try and if you have any problems be sure to ask for the owner without hesitation, he usually does my nails and they are beautiful! read more

This place was so good honestly I was new to Chico so I didn't know much but I found them on Instagram! It is ran by a husband and his wife right now! They came from a salon we're they made crap pay and were treated poorly by management but they did it on their own now and they are making the best of things. Definitely get your nails or anything done here sweet people who really work with you ! Such a beautiful job read more

This nail salon is by FAR the best out here! My daughter and I have been connected with the owners for over 3 years now, if not longer, doing our nails. They are like family to us. Reading a few negative reviews is upsetting as it doesn't even sound like the owners and how they operate at all. The shop is amazingly clean, nails are always on point and I feel like I am at home! read more

Shout out to Skylab Nails and Spa. Lisa and Dennis are wonderful. The salon is beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful. Both Lisa and Dennis are very skilled at manicures and pedicures. Dennis is wonderful with my mom. She loves how attentive he is to her needs. He made her feel like she was the only person in the room. I highly recommend this place. read more

I LOVE this place. It's so clean. They treat everyone amazingly. They're so familiar too. They always have great conversations with me and they always greet at the door. It's only two of them but they are so meticulous and have such a great passion for nails! Love coming here! They also have SO many options from regular polish, gel, dip, all colors! read more

They always do a great job. The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and make an effort to create an enjoyable experience with their customers and get to know each person. I had a chipped nail, texted the owner and he did a full new set and color for free. They always make their customers happy. I love getting my nails done here. read more

I come to this place all the time for pedicure and was shocked to see bad reviews. I recently visited again and was happy to be told that the two new people were no longer working there anymore. I like the owner and his wife and the services that they provide, they have never done me wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more
