Great! Their fans will tell you Kazoku does not disappoint. Yes, they have fans. Right when we walked into the quaint, comfortable restaurant, customers walking out told us we were in for a treat. The friendly staff sat us quickly and helped us select an order than came out quickly. I ordered a chef's choice nigiri plate that was fresh and clean. The rice was a little stiffer than I prefer, but would absolutely prefer ideal fish than rice, and at Kazoku, that was certainly the case. The rest of the table enjoyed their meals and rolls too and it was reasonably priced. Some of the most flavorful miso soup I've ever had too!

A surprised stop while driving from Rio Rico to Chandler, small restaurant with nice and fresh selection of sushi, sashimi, etc. Everything was delicious and definitely planning to stop by anytime we are near Tucson!

The sushi was good, loved the spring rolls! Service was nice.. she was quick and helpful. It's a nice place with nice decor. We came for lunch so it wasn't busy at all, everything was fast and fresh, would come again.

Lunch was amazing today! I am a huge fan of hand rolls and this restaurant can make one out of any roll they have on their menu. I got a salmon skin hand roll and sunset hand roll. Just fantastic combo of sauces, fish and rice. The squid salad here has a very tasty sauce and the cucumbers are perfectly pickled. The service is incredibly fast and super friendly. The only thing to complain about is the cleanliness of the restaurant. I used to come here very often many years ago when it was under different management and it was much cleaner. The bathroom was down right disgusting today

They have a decently large menu selection. Service was friendly and quick. The dinner combination (got the Beef Teriyaki and tempura) was largely portioned and tasty. The sushi was decent- not bad and not spectacular.

Visited Kazoku for lunch and it was delicious! Service was quick and food was amazing. Definitely my new go to. I got a crispy crunch roll with a salmon hand roll and my fiancé got a dragon roll with an eel hand roll.

Spring rolls and crab puffs with sweet-and-sour sauce.

I went here for dinner tonight (Monday) and the restaurant was pretty busy. The beef yakitori appetizer is really good. I thought the roll selection is pretty basic but everything tasted fresh. I liked the Kazoku roll, the Eskimo and the spicy tuna rolls. I didn't like the Super Sake roll, it tasted too fishy for me. The Ozeki Nigiri Sake Junmai was really good.

So my husband and I have mixed feelings about this place. The ambience is nice and the service was very welcoming. However, our food was kind of so-so. My sushi was good, but our shrimp fried rice felt a little bit overcooked and I thought it was odd that they used brown rice, which I haven't seen before in shrimp fried rice. And my husband's pork was also overcooked and it didn't taste very good. We may or may not be back, it is possible another shot, but it wasn't the best first impression.

Instead of giving more fish they give Sunomono (pickled cucumber) and Korean seaweed salad I only got one cup of water and tea. Wasn't asked for a refill. Miso Soup was the machine made one so it was a bit salty.

This was not what we expected but the staff was friendly and 1/2 patrons at the food hall were eating sushi. The stalls have big energy today and lots of patrons are searching for a seat. Why not give them a chance? The menu is fairly varied for a small pop-up with traditional and deep fried sushi rolls. The female wait staff is handing out egg drop soup samples to everyone, ever those eating pizza and gyros. Looking around, these rolls are huge. We chose the Sonoran roll with shrimp tempora, spicy tuna, spicy crab topped with seared salmon and yuzu sauce. This roll was flavorful and spicy. Another roll was the Samurai with shrimp tempora, cream cheese, avacado wrapped in soy paper deep fried and covered with spicy crab / shrimp mix baked in a spicy aioli and eel sauce. This was our favorite roll with a pop in the tempora shrimp and an uncious taste coupled with a bite. Our third and final roll was the heart attack. Another spicy roll with shrimp tempora, avacado, cream cheese topped with jalepeno, spicy crab and chef sauce. Again, another good roll and a ton of food. This food mall is in an unassuming neighborhood with a smiling server who is hustling like crazy. The sushi was good, unique and tasty. It was a huge amount of food. Give this hard working staff and chance, she is enthusiastic and working hard. To the staff at Samurai Sombrero who are working hard and obviously, not a trained sushi chef. To the public, take a chance, give Samurai Sombrero a try and judge for yourself.

Not a lot of tables, but they do have an outdoor patio and a large bar. Parking is a little bit of a nightmare due to the downtown location. Their servers are very friendly and attentive to all customers too. I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers. We had a table so we'd be able to watch the TVs since baseball was on. Our servers named is Cassandra and she was the best server I think we've ever had, she was so kind and helpful. She made sure to keep checking in and keeping us ordering more and more food. We asked what items she liked the most, and she was spot on for all her recommendations. We stayed I think 3 hours and just took our time trying different food items and the only one that needs work is the tempura it was undercooked and not crispy enough. My favorite item was the fried fish, and my cocktail the Pineapple Express. I had read a some reviews before going and we did hear they had a lot of bad reviews from previous staff. The restaurant has definitely turned around from what you've read, so if you had a bad first impression I would recommend going back and trying them again. The one thing I do want to throw out there is the lack of bartenders that's my only call out. My mom wanted an old fashioned and the guy who made it was a bar back and had no experience making drinks. So once you fix that then I think you'll be killing it. So until that happens my rating will be 4 stars, so that way there's a chance for improvement. Next time I'm visiting I will be coming back and hopefully Cassandra is still working, she's one of your best workers.
