Since my purple has washed out, we've talked about my next color. I asked her for recommendations and she said Copper or Butterscotch would look good on me. I came in recently for a haircut, but Hannah just said I didn't need one. She said all I needed was for it to be thinned out and shaped. And she took care of debunking my locks and giving it shape again. I no longer looked like I had Box Hair lol. Hannah is so sweet and friendly and it's always a pleasure when she gives feedback on hair tips, color etc. The space used to be a studio apartment. It's very bright, with exposed brick walls and wood floors. Loads of light and bathroom with a cute shower lounge spot. They handle their laundry of washing towels on site too. It's clean and a peaceful studio salon in Jackson Ward. (Also a cool tip for fantasy color removal: I used vitamin C tablets crushed up with my cleansing shampoo to also remove the color. Let it set for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse your hair. Yes it works! I did this. 3x and it removes all purple).

I saw that everyone that worked here were great and I would be in good hands. Lacey was super friendly and knew what she was doing! I'm a little picky with who does my hair and she just killed it! It's a 30 min drive from where I live but definitely worth the drive even in the rain. I plan to come back to get my hair colored from her also and I cannot wait. I would 100% recommend this salon to everyone! I'm so happy I've found my new hair stylist :)

It seems you just replied to "reach out to you in private for further assistance" for the public…read moreview since you decided to not respond to my email... Like I said in the email, if a customer asks you for a hair color you should be aiming to deliver that. If a customers hair is too damaged according to you, you can't just decide to do your own color without telling the customer. I'm not sure why you are claiming this was discussed during my consultation with Jade, you were not even present during that time. Again she showed me blonde hair and if she was honest with the color SHE (not me) decided looked best she should have showed me photos of the dark brown hair she was planning. I would have said no and left the salon. If you see her phone history for December 31, 2025 at 4:20pm you will see for yourself what I was shown, and it is nowhere near what she did to my hair. I hope your salon does not continue to do the same for new customers like I was and practices honesty. It seems someone else also had a similar experience to me in the reviews here...

The wash was INCREDIBLE! My stylist, whose name is escaping me right now, was very thorough and checked in often to see if temperatures and pressure were good. The style itself was very much like the photo I showed her, and the owner, Sam, followed my stepmom's instructions very closely. My stepmom loves the style- and she's very hard to please so it's a big compliment. I took off a point because I didn't see any stylists use any heat protectant at any point, which worried me a bit. There's also almost an excessive amount of hair spray on both of our heads, although I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Every other customer in there seemed to be really enjoying themselves and seemed to really like the staff, which is fair because they're all very nice. Please be aware that they are CASH ONLY! I didn't know that until I was there. It wasn't an issue for us, but that's the only form of payment they take.

On my recent visit, I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted. I came in with photos of caramel, copper, and honey blond balayage. I was honest and communicated that I was ready for a bigger change with money pieces and framing layers. Be sure to bring photos of what you like because she can recreate it. I asked her opinion because I really trust this woman. I absolutely loved the final result. I've been wanting to do something that looked different from my normal look and she gave me the helpful push. I also have never had such easy conversation with a hair stylist in my life. I've gone to her one other time in the past and also loved what I got done. Katie is incredible and I highly recommend doing balayage with her.

I've only got two "bad" things to say, which aren't even that bad and definitely not deal breakers at all. Cons (IMO): 1. As it is a holiday today, I did expect it to be crowded but with only two workers it made the wait even longer. Not sure what the staff is like but knowing most people were off work & school was out, I believe there should have been more people on the clock. 2. I personally like to see what's going on when someone is doing my hair however the whole time I was turned away from the mirror which I didn't enjoy.
